The local events are hosted here on a regular basis so don’t forget to join one if you come here again.
Nabinonya Resort Beach:
Known for its natural beauty, this place is for the youth and family. People looking for ways to get into an adventure can enjoy the forest, which is home to monkeys, birds and reptiles.  The beach is known for the campsite nearby. The place is great to see the local soccer youth team in action as they always come here to use the campsite for their practice. If you get hungry in this place theme there are a number of stalls which you can find that sell snacks and drinks. If you want to get to this place then you can either choose a self-drive rental car or a chauffeur-driven to enjoy the drive in such a breath-taking place in Africa.
Therefore, these are the top beaches that you can visit in Uganda.

Forty years after his debut in The Killers ( Robert Siodmak, 1946), Burt Lancaster toplines a major studio film (Disney´s Touchstone Pictures),  capping a legendary partnership with Kirk Douglas. They starred together in I Walk Alone (Byron Haskin, 1947), Gunfight at the Ok Corral (John Sturges, 1957), The Devil´s Disciple (Guy Hamilton, 1959), Seven Days in May (John Frankenheimer, 1964), did cameos for John Huston in The List of Adrian Messenger (1963) and appeared together in the Victory at Entebbe (Marvin Chomsky, 1976) ‘event’ TV Movie. This was their seventh time together and, as you can see in the charming clip below, they were widely perceived as a team by the public, appearing several times together at the Oscars and in this particular clip below bringing down the house with their banter and performance:
youtube
I saw Tough Guys when it came out and found it pleasant but not very good. This time around I enjoyed it even more. I now know their personas better, can flesh out all the echoes of and rhymes with the different epochs of their careers, get the joke when the film makes references to their previous films such as  Gunfight at the OK Corral and so on. But, if anything, I found the film even worse than the first time around.
Tough Guys is a very typical and typically overblown comic action movie of the 80s, with the gym sequence then so prevalent, the throwaway humour, the car chases, the things being blown up behind the protagonists as they throw themselves towards the camera, the action sequences tied together by a song  to add up to a video clip the producers hoped would get heavy rotation on MTV and help market the movie, the ugly synth score and the stuffing of the movie with songs so as as to have an extra revenue and promotion resource from the soundtrack (see the pre-packed ‘MTV montage’ below).
All of the above made me realise that stars not only develop and change over time, that meanings accrue and change, that they´re different for each generation of filmgoers and across social formations, but also that stardom inhabits forms. As argued and characterised above, Tough Guys is High Concept 80s cinema, it´s ‘Burt and Kirk as tough guys, but they´ve been in jail for 30 years so they and the audience can hark back to their film noir days in the late forties, and the comedy will come from age and cultural dislocation´. I could have cut the tagline to one sentence had I wanted to.
The plot revolves around Harry Doyle (Burt Lancaster) and Archie Long (Kirk Douglas). The film begins as they come out of prison after 30 years for a failed train robbery, the last attempt at one in America, with their late forties/ early 50s hats, sharp suits, and two-toned shoes (see montage of images above). The guard taunts them by saying they’ll be back within the week. Their parole officer, Richie Evans (Dana Carvey), a fan, quickly explains the set-up, sends Archie to a welfare motel and Harry, whose older, to an old folks home. Everything in this new world is strange to them and they can’t abide by the rules, which seem to infantilise and dismiss the old as asexual, brainless and without agency. Moreover, they have two people on their tail, a hit man who’d been hired to kill them 30 years before and has been waiting ever since (Eli Wallach) and the cop responsible for sending them to prison in the first place, who believes they’ll never reform and is merely waiting for them to set up the next hit (Charles Durning).
To pursue this idea of stardom inhabiting forms, just think of how the very first scenes immediately recall the 4:3 underworld of shadows and crime that is Lancaster’s first star persona, the guy from The Killers, Brute Force, Criss Cross, Kiss the Blood of My Hands, and with Kirk, also in a narrative about an ex-con let loose in a world he doesn’t recognise, I Walk Alone.
Then think too about the ´Muscles and Teeth’ roles in The Flame and the Arrow and The Crimson Pirate, still in 4.3 but now in vibrant technicolour. One can also chart Burt Lancaster’s development as a star in Westerns, the move from the 4:3, black and white of Vengeance Valley in ’51, through the Technicolour SuperScope of Vera Cruz, right up to the Cinerama of The Hallellujah Trail, and then, as his stardom diminished, back to the then standard widescreen of Valdez is Coming or Ulzana’s Raid.
Think too of how the seriousness Burt Lancaster signified is so often associated with John Frankenheimer’s wide-screen black and white aesthetic, the experimentation with compositions and angles, as well as with the seriousness of theme. Or how seeing Lancaster pictured in Richard Aldrich’s  fractured, suspenseful and imaginative split screen in Twilight’s Last Gleaming also communicates aspects of Lancaster’s persona in the late 70s, purposeful, serious, committed, an old pro trying to be newly dynamic and ‘with it’.
In Tough Guys, Burt and Kirk are newly burnished for High Concept stardom but see above how the big spectacular finale, harks back to Westerns, but now with helicopters on the chases instead of Indians.
Even from behind and past 70, Burt walks gracefully. Kirk is the other one. Kirk’s always doing bits of business, Burt is relatively minimalist, paired down: that’s why their chemistry is so good, perfect counterpoint. And that is and was evident to even those who´d never seen them in anything else together. The film is a very pleasurable, if not good, send-off to a legendary team.
    Jose Arroyo
Tough Guys (Jeff Kanew, USA, 1986) Forty years after his debut in The Killers ( Robert Siodmak, 1946), Burt Lancaster toplines a major studio film (Disney´s Touchstone Pictures),  capping a legendary partnership with Kirk Douglas.

Reasons why you should track mountain gorillas from Rwanda to Uganda
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Mgahinga National Park both in Uganda are one of the best parks in the world one should visit. The park boasts of hosting half of the remaining mountain gorillas in the entire world with the rest being conserved in other parks like Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda, Virunga in Democratic Republic of Congo.
Initially, many clients preferred trekking mountain gorillas in Rwanda than Uganda and this was because of the short 2-hour drive from Kigali to Volcanoes national park compared to the 8-hour drive from Entebbe/Kampala to Bwindi National Park.
Things changed in May 2017 when Rwanda Development Board in charge of selling gorilla permits doubled their price from USD 750 to USD 1500 on gorilla permits. Ever since this happened, so many clients nowadays prefer to track mountain gorillas in Bwindi national park because it’s cheap and some are not willing to pay huge sums of money for gorilla permits in Rwanda yet in Uganda a gorilla permits cost USD 700 per person.
Here are the following reasons why should track mountain gorillas from Rwanda to Uganda.
Clients save money
This is because it's cost-friendly. It’s cheaper starting from Kigali to Bwindi national park in terms of accommodation, car hire, and fuel among others. Starting from Kampala requires one to spend money on accommodation both on the day of arrival and the day of departure.
Secondly, when it comes to gorilla permits, gorilla permits in Uganda cost 700 dollars while that of Rwanda cost USD 1500 per person. This gives opportunities for clients to save some money for some other things.
A short drive from Kigali to Bwindi national park
The distance between Kigali and Bwindi is about 176.8km and it takes about 4 to 5 hours from Kigali to Bwindi. They would have been 3 hours but because of the speed limit in Rwanda which doesn’t exceed 60 km/hr, it makes the drive time a bit longer but this reduces chances of road accidents since vehicles don’t move at a high speed.
Makes it possible to organize short trips for our clients with limited time
It’s possible for clients to arrive in Kigali and immediately transfer to Bwindi on the same day, do the tracking then travel back to Kigali on the second day for departure.
We recommend clients to stay in Bwindi for at least 3 days in order to enjoy the park to the maximum because it has a lot to offer like birds, primates, mountain biking around Bwindi which is done through a well-maintained trail of 13km from the park office.
Clients get a chance to see the natural beauty stretching from Rwanda to Uganda
On a drive from Kigali to Uganda, you pass through beautiful sceneries covered with both natural and artificial vegetation. Rivers flowing through the valleys are also observed during the drive, small towns along the road, farming among others. This spices up the same activity clients pay for which is gorilla tracking.
Clients get offers on flights when they book with Rwandair
Rwanda owns Rwandair and sometimes they give some offers through their website so it’s advisable to check on the prices and routes on their website before you book. You could end up saving some money.
Visit the Kigali genocide monument
It’s located in Kigali which makes it easy to access. Spend 2 hours at this monument which paints the dark history of Rwanda. Learn how the genocide started, what caused it and how it stopped. This will make you realize the good leadership of the current government has played a big role in the development of Rwanda.
The short distance between Kigali and Bwindi national park
It’s 176.8km from Kigali to Bwindi which takes 4 hours. It would have been 3 hours drive but because of the low-speed limit of Rwanda, a maximum speed limit of 60 km/hr while in Kigali-Huye and Butare. For more details about gorilla trekking safaris in Uganda kindly contact Adyeri Creations Limited.

Uber and Taxify are going head-to-head to digitize Africa’s two-wheeled taxis
Uber and Taxify are going head-to-head to digitize Africa’s two-wheeled taxis
Global ride-hailing rivals Taxify and Uber have launched motorcycle passenger service in East Africa. Customers of both companies in Uganda and Taxify riders in Kenya can now order up two-wheel transit by app.
uberBoda, as its branded, is Uber’s first motorcycle service offering in Africa, and second globally after Asia. For Taxify, it’s the first two-wheel launch in any of the company’s 20 plus international markets.
The moves come as Africa’s moto-taxis — commonly known as boda bodas in the East and okadas in the West –upshift to digital.
Taxify’s “Boda” button
For Taxify, the reasons for entering the market were twofold, according to Kenya Operations Head Chisom Anoke. “We noticed there was a need for this service because boda boda’s haven’t been very well organized or regulated,” he told TechCrunch from Taxify’s Nairobi office.
“The other thing was people had to go search for boda bodas. We want to bring the convenience we brought to regular taxis to the boda bodas,” said Anoke.
The company has upgraded its Kenya and Uganda apps with a “Boda” button to order a two-wheel taxi.
Taxify also aims to bring the average boda boda ETAs in Nairobi to under four minutes, the current norm for its car services.
Boda boda rates for Kenya will be 30 Shillings base then 15 Shillings per kilometer (≈ $.30 and $.15) compared to 85 and 30 for normal car service. Taxify takes a 15 percent cut, according to Anoke.
On safety, the Taxify will only hire boda boda taxi riders licensed by Kenya’s National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) and who have at least three years of experience.
Taxify will require their boda boda drivers have 2015 or later motorcycles that pass a company inspection “to ensure the quality is on point and our clients are safe,” said Anoke.
Riders using Taxify will navigate via direction voice prompts and headphones (from Google maps and other services). All riders will carry two yellow helmets and reflective jackets. Taxify is also working on a rider training program pilot with Kenya’s NTSA.
uberBoda
The prominence of motorcycle taxis in Uganda prompted Uber to launch uberBoda there, according to Africa GM Alon Lits. “We’re all about localization and boda moves Kampala,” he told TechCrunch on a call from Cape Town. “If we’re going to be a part of the mobility solution in Kampala, we can’t do that without having a boda product.”
Uber’s Uganda app will include an uberBoda request icon. uberBoda drivers must have proper motorcycle vehicle and taxi licenses to work with Uber, according to Lits. “In addition, we’re ensuring all drivers have two helmets and reflective jackets for their riders,” he said.
Uber expects uberBoda passenger costs to average roughly a dollar per fare. Lits estimates “there are nearly 2 million weekly boda trips happening in Kampala.” The uberBoda motorcycle service is starting with around 100 drivers.
As they gather research from early activity, both Taxify and Uber in Africa said they plan to look more deeply into motorcycle financing plans for drivers, expanded rider training, and ways to build more safety into the two-wheel taxi markets.
“By forcing Taxify boda boda riders to follow existing rules, like not riding more than two passengers at a time, it will rub off and have the kind of positive market disruption we want to see on the boda boda industry,” said Taxify’s Anoke.
“As we get more data as to drivers’ track records, that becomes a proxy for credit, which we’ll look to roll out to the boda industry,” said Uber’s Lits. As TechCrunch reported, Uber Africa experiments with many things the company doesn’t always do globally, such as cash payments and recently launching moto-rickshaw service in Tanzania.
Other players
Uber and Taxify aren’t the only companies to enter Africa’s motorcycle ride-hail market. Nigeria has startup Max.ng, which is actually more focused on last-mile delivery service.
And in Rwanda, where taxi-motos are highly used and tightly regulated, startup SafeMotos has been active since 2015. The company offers its app to drivers and passengers to pinpoint pickup spots, meter fares, and facilitate payments. SafeMotos also plans to expand all woman boda boda services and into Kinhasa DRC, co-founder Barrett Nash told TechCrunch recently in Kigali.
Rwanda also has Yego Moto, a Singapore based motorcycle ride-hail company. Yego Moto has 680 drivers and has logged 426,382 trips and 2.1 million kilometers on its Rwanda platform, according to a company spokesperson.
Market expansion
On Taxify’s plans to expand its boda boda service to other Taxify African cities and markets, “definitely, we plan to scale it out,” said company spokesperson Loreen Ajaimbo, though she wouldn’t name any specific countries at the moment.
Uber Africa’s Alon Lits said the company would look to expand uberBoda first in Uganda to Entebbe. He also mentioned Rwanda as a potential new market.
As for earning potential of East Africa’s boda bodas, Taxify’s Chisom Anoke referred to a recent study by the Motorcycle Assemblers Association of Kenya. It pegged that country’s 2017 two-wheel taxi revenues at $2.1 billion, surpassing the income of the Kenya’s largest telco, Safaricom.
Of course, disrupting that market may not be welcomed by everyone. Both Uber and Taxify’s moves into Africa’s four-wheel taxi spaces have brought protests by traditional drivers over the last several years. Time will tell how Kenya and Uganda’s non-digital boda boda pilots respond to their new ride-hail competition.
