🕉 🚩🚩🏰⠀ ⠀ ⠀ The Samudra Narayana Temple is located at the confluence of the river Gomti and the Arabian Sea. ⠀ ⠀ The temple is dedicated to Goddess Gomti who is believed to have been brought from heaven by Rishi Vasishtha to sanctify Rama after his battle with Ravana. After purification of Rama, Goddess Gomti manifested here on the ghats and got submerged into the Arabian sea. ⠀ ⠀ The breathtaking intrinsic architectural planning of the temple has attracted enthusiasts from all over the world. This temple is also encircled by a Panchanada Teertha or five wells containing sweet water. Chakra Narayana, another shrine in the vicinity features a stone marked with a sudarshan chakra that symbolises Lord Vishnu. After paying your respects to Lord Chakra Narayan, you could head to the Manoratha Dwar, which is a meditation cave located nearby. Innumerable saints have practised dhyaan yoga in this cave. Evenings are extremely pleasant with cool winds blowing in from the Arabian Sea. Capture some fantastic shots of the setting sun with the Gomti gushing in the background. ⠀ ⠀ There is also a Chakra Narayana Temple nearby the Samudra Narayana Temple, which features a stone marked with a chakra that manifests Lord Vishnu. This temple is very close to the confluence of Gomati River and Arabian Sea. The main idols enshrined in the temple are that of Samudra Deva, Lord Varuna, Mother Astha Bhavani and Mira Bai.⠀ ⠀ There is a sacred kund or tank in the temple, where several ceremonial sacrifices are performed. This temple is also located close to a meditation cave, Manoratha Dwar, where saints are seen engrossed in meditation.⠀ ⠀ Credit: V.M. 🕉 🚩 Taranga is a Jain pilgrimage center near Kheralu in Mehsana district, Gujarat, India, with two compounds of Jain temples that are important examples of the Māru-Gurjara style of architecture. The oldest Jain temple was constructed in 1161 by the Chaulukya king Kumarapala, under the advice of his teacher, Acharya Hemachandra. Both the main wings of Jainism are represented, with adjoining walled compounds: the Svetambaracompound consists of 14 temples in all, and there are also five Digambara-affiliated temples at Taranga hill. The place was historically associated with Buddhism and monuments dated to 4th-8th century are also found here. Taranga became an important Jain pilgrimage site in the 12h century. In Kumarapala Pratibodha of Somaprabhacharya, composed in Vikram Samvat 1241, states the local Buddhist king Veni Vatsaraja and Jain monk Khaputacharya had built a temple for goddess Tara and thus the town was named Tarapur. The hill is for the most part covered with brushwood and forest is, on the east and west, crossed by a road that lead to a plateau where stand the temples built of white sandstone and brick. #LostTemples #templearchitecture #templephotography #templesofindia #templelife #templephotos #instalike #INSANE #Gujarat #gujarattourism #capturinggujarat #tourismgujarat #gujarat_ig #indiapictures #gujaratfocus #gujaratdiaries #gujarat_tourism #gujarat_nodi #gujarattravel #travelgujarat #gujaratone #exploregujarat #india #TarangaJaintemple #kheralu #visitgujarat #gujaratdarshanam #incredibleindia #VibrantGujarat #KhushbooGujaratKi 📸 - @losttemples_276 (at Taranga Jain Temple) https://www.instagram.com/p/B9Dkd4CFmqi/?igshid=qpqxg8021s9c
