Ok I need to ask because according to my friend group not everyone imagines this.

Do you ever just picture in your OCs or favorite characters just eating absolute shit in your head?

Like Jaune just standing there then randomly getting clotheslined out of nowhere by a flying object in a comedic fashion

Because this has popped in my head for a lot of characters for some reason.

This is me we’re talking about

Of course I regularly imagine Jaune just randomly getting his ass kicked

You cooked with the idea of bodyguard Pyrrha AU, cause now they get to have the classic “romantic tension while pulling a bullet out of someone” scene

Oh my god you’re so fucking right. And the best part it could go either way

Because Jaune is absolutely the guy who would forget that his bodyguard’s job is literally to take the bullet for him. Meanwhile Pyrrha is over here DEFINITELY TRYING TO KILL JAUNE while also jumping in front of bullets that would’ve killed him

Ok my brain has been struck by a vision and I need to share:

Wall-E Whiteknight AU

Just imagining a literal trash-boy Jaune robot becoming absolutely enamored with a floating and even more graceful Weiss is so endearing to me.

(This movie may have formed my views on relationship dynamics more than I thought lol)

Since I can’t imagine them as bots, I’m just imagining ultimate farm/trash boy Jaune wearing patched and dirty overalls and a muddy white t-shirt and big work gloves and boots with dirt smudged all over his cheeks and fly-away curls and absolute adoring awe in his eyes

Meanwhile Weiss is flawless, not a speck on her, sleek white dress and crown (for communicating with her boss), she’s so angelic she literally walks an inch or so off the ground at all time, confused and endeared by this bumbling clumsy guy

Also, this is good, because it’s another “Jaune is alone for a million years” AU

And I can’t blame you for adopting the way that WALL-E portrays relationships. I would die for these two robots with almost no dialogue

Oh god now I’m imagining Weiss’s POV as she watches the Jaune/Cinder fusion drag themselves towards the void.

The shattered remains of Jaune’s sword are in the fusions’s hand. The bare one. Cinder’s hand. And the blade is at their throat.

She can’t breathe. He’s trying to kill them both. Making them look Weiss in the eye so she gets the powers and trying to kill them both.

Their hand is shaking. Cinder is many things, but she’s always wanted to live. The blade gets within an inch of their neck and stops.

Their single eye goes empty as the fire flickers out.

Through the agony and war of emotions, Weiss can see a flicker of expression on the fusion’s face. A terrified but determined grimace that she KNOWS is Jaune. She’s seen that face before, at Beacon, at Haven, hell, in the nightmare that’s been the past few days

And before Weiss or Cinder can stop them, the fusion meets her eyes, and then throws themself off the edge of the platform.

She doesn’t have time to scream before they’re both gone

What would Raven’s response be if Jaune’s eyes switch while yelling at Cinder in Haven?

First of all, his eyes DEFINITELY switch while he’s screaming at Cinder. Boy isn’t exactly stable these days, and this has always been tied to emotional outbursts. In fact, I wouldn’t be shocked if his eyes flicker between red and blue the entire fight until Weiss is stabbed

As for Raven’s reaction, it’s somewhere between shock and horror. She already knows Jaune is alive at this point (Yang yells it at her when she goes to her camp, but that’s another story) but to hear about it and to see it are two VERY different things

He’s got Tai’s voice, but her eyes. He’s got Tai’s tears, but all of her rage. He loves too much and too hard

Her son is the worst parts of both of them in one package

She literally sketches on screen. Girl can draw a rose, she’s an actual artist

What are the teams’ preferences on the pancakes vs waffles debate?

Let’s go in order, shall we?

Ruby: Pancakes, definitely. Preferably ones with chocolate chips in them, but mostly because they remind her of home

Weiss: Never really had either when she was a kid, breakfast was a more sedate affair than that, but probably waffles

Blake: Definitely waffles. Pancakes were easier to make on the road with the Fang, so waffles are more special to her

Yang: Pancakes, for similar reasons to Ruby, but even more so because she can still remember the pancakes that Summer used to make

Jaune: Waffles, which Nora takes as the highest level of betrayal. He just likes how it makes little bowls of syrup

Nora: Pancakes, this one was a gimme. Girl would survive on only pancakes if she could. But seriously, she likes them because they were one of the first meals anyone ever cooked for her, cause they were the only thing Ren knew how to cook

Pyrrha: Waffles. Her mom had a special griddle that made each wedge look like a heart, and whenever Pyrrha was away for a competition her mom would always make waffles to send love with her

Ren: Pancakes, although not really for flavor, he’s much more of a green tea for breakfast kind of guy. He remembers making them with his parents, and that hurts, but he also loves the smiles it brings to his friends when he makes them

When Jaune and Yang fuse, do they ever interact with fused Weiss and Blake?

Maybe? If by interact, you mean they get personal, then no. If you mean talk or whatever, then sure, but why would they be fused to do that?

Fusion isn’t something they just do for fun. It’s an ability for combat, or emotional intervention. It actively drains the Aura of both people involved, and leaves them disoriented afterwards, so it’s not something they do lightly

If Weiss and Blake want to talk to Jaune and Yang… they’ll just talk to them

Voices AU: Do the ghosts intentionally/unintentionally help Jaune cheat at board games? Like Penny being excited about Ruby’s cards during a game of poker. Or Pyrrha having an “oh shit” look when Jaune’s about to get absolutely destroyed in uno.

I’m glad that we all agree that Pyrrha just has NO poker face

It started out on accident during a game night in Mistral while they’re waiting to leave for Atlas. Pyrrha kept reacting to everyone’s cards which lead to Jaune winning the game. It wasn’t even intentional, Pyrrha just had NO poker face

Eventually they get a whole system worked out, to the point where Pyrrha now has to promise to stand behind Jaune whenever the gang plays board games to prevent cheating

They have no way of verifying if she does, but it’s Pyrrha, so they’re pretty sure she keeps her promise

Best part about the WALL-E AU is that it has the perfect mix of cute interactions like the whole scene of them dancing in space.

Immediately followed by WALL-E/Jaune getting the shit kicked out of him

Ok I know you don’t know much about resident evil but Jaune definitely gives Ethan Winters vibes

To summarize he is part of the doomed by the narrative club and only survives through sheer love for those around him and a good dose of “fuck it we ball”

Twins AU: When either twin goes on a date, the other will be in the back going through cartoon level shenanigans to make sure it goes well.

There’s Phineas and Ferb level shenanigans going on behind the scenes

The kitchen is on fire. The ferris wheel comes off the frame and starts rolling away. Complete pandemonium, while the couple in the date notices none of it

Would the Twins AU mean that Jaune goes with Yang to talk to Raven in Volume 6 instead of going being a part of team RNJR?

Hmmmm

It would be interesting, but I don’t think so

Jaune wouldn’t necessarily have as much motivation to find Raven as Yang does. After all, he only found out a few months ago that he was ABANDONED by his birth mother, not just a war orphan. So that “why did my mother abandon me” hasn’t had time to fester

Besides, Pyrrha still very much dies. And Jaune still very much wants answers. So RNJR it is

I do think Yang throws Jaune in Raven’s face when they meet, though. “What, it wasn’t enough for you to abandon one kid, you had to go for the two for one special?!”

Raven looks shaken for the first time since Yang stepped foot in the camp. “What are you talking about?”

“My brother! Or did we both matter so little to you that you forgot all about him?”

Raven didn’t forget him, of course. Callous and cowardly though she is, forgetful she is not

It’s just she assumed her son was long dead

And why wouldn’t she? The last time she saw Yin (Jaune’s birth name woohoo) he was an infant screaming in the rubble of a building with Nevermore circling above

Do you have any advice for people wanting to write their own fics?

I really like how you write your stories and wanted to know how I can improve my own stuff!

Don’t start at the beginning if you don’t want to. Start at the bit you want to write, and then do the lead up. That way you’ve started writing, and you’re in the swing of things instead of forcing yourself to go in order for no reason

Don’t feel bad about writing something because someone else has already don’t it. Readers won’t care, they’ll just be stoked that they get to read two things they like

Write stuff that you’d like to read. Write about stuff you like, and don’t beat yourself up about writing about the same topic over and over. I write like ONLY about Jaune, and I’m having a great time. There will be other people to write about the other stuff, just do what YOU want to do

Also honestly, just write more. It’s gonna be bad at first, and that’s okay. It’s a skill like anything else, and the more you do it the better you’ll get at it
