🍍 - What is an event that seemed of minor consequence to them when it occurred, but ended up impacting their life/development in a bigger way?
Meeting Ikkaku. When they’d first crossed paths, he’d merely noted that she was a fairly attractive female member of the Hearts. It had been a brief meeting that had resulted in her sassing him due to his own rudeness.
Yet once the cards revealed her as the key to his 1% chance of avoiding his death at Kaido’s hands, he considered it providence. Some higher power put her in his path, and he took that as a sign. Had they not briefly met first, he likely wouldn’t have even made the connection between the High Priestess card and Ikkaku. And thus began a mad pursuit for godhood and the attempted seduction of an engineer.
🍉 - What is something they have done that they feel the most guilt over? How do they handle this guilt? Does the guilt ever get resolved?
Hawkins doesn’t generally feel guilty over much, but one thing that does genuinely haunt him with guilt is Faust’s death. The cat Mink was the only member of his crew that he genuinely cared for and would never use his powers against, but his death drove home to Hawkins that he could have used his powers to protect him. He could have used his powers to keep them both alive while Kaido slaughtered the rest of the crew, but he’d only thought of himself. He also feels guilty because perhaps if he’d surrendered sooner, Faust would have been spared the Yonko’s wrath. Instead, Faust died defending his captain and friend.
As for how Hawkins handles the guilt, it made him double down on his efforts to survive and find a way to cheat his fate. To go to new extremes to get the power his High Priestess could grant him. To do what he must to survive under Kaido’s rule, because otherwise Faust’s sacrifice would have been in vain. And that guilt also contributes to his sadism during the fight with Killer, because seeing the Massacre Soldier so willing to sacrifice himself for his captain reminded him uncomfortably of Faust’s own sacrifice.

SELF KNOWLEDGE QUESTIONNAIRE [ LINK: HERE ]
Rationality
Tumblr media
You like clarity and intelligent simplicity and you get frustrated at messy thinking. This can make you seem unreasonably pushy to some, but it is actually a virtue: you are motivated by a horror at pointless effort and a longing for precision and insight into how things and people work. Your ability to synthesize and bring order is essential in producing thinking which is truly helpful.
Exhibitionism
Tumblr media
There’s a strand in your nature which loves making an impression – perhaps with your clothes, or conversation, or in a self-revealing blog or a novel. You like to dramatise yourself, to pose as a unique, perhaps mysterious person, to joke or exaggerate your part in adventures. Though you might more than once have been called a show off, it is actually a generous tendency: you want to please and entertain others. It could be the start of good teaching and leadership.
Resilience
Tumblr media
You have a tendency, after a setback, to turn your emotions towards restriving. What attracts you is the idea of wiping out a humiliation by resumed action – overcoming weakness, repressing your fear. Because part of your motive is pride, you can sometimes be unwilling to admit weakness or to receive aid. But at heart, tour insistence on coming back and never folding has taught you a valuable pessimism: you know that important journeys are never easy.

Okay so, I was tagged into This post right here by @vinsmoke-luffy and since I didn't want to over complicate his/her/their post too much, I decided to answer the questions on a separate post. Thank you for tagging me buddy!
One Piece Questions
1. What got you into One Piece?
Honestly speaking, I saw one of the volumes in the local library and decided to read it. I found the thing to be interesting, but I'd only hear about the anime later on, around the age of 13. I first found out about the series when I was 6 years old.
2. What got you hooked into the series?
Oh man, it's been over a decade, it's so hard to say- probably the kindness that the characters portrayed, loyalty and friendship? Something that I'd totally yearn for taken in how oddball of a child I've always been.
3. Which character would you punch and why?
That's pretty much a tie between Black Beard, Akainu, Doflamingo and Big Mom, all four of them represent things that I absolutely despise; Lust for power, corrupt "Justice", lack of empathy/sympathy and abusive behaviour. I'd go into detail of why, but I am fairly sure that it's no brainer why I'd physically assault them on sight even if it'd probably cost me my life.
Sometimes, people who are in power, do not deserve the power they've obtained and in those cases they must be taken down before they can cause any further damage to the people.
4. Which moment will stick with you forever?
"Ikitai! Watashi wa isho ni umi ni tsureteitte!"
Robin's seyuu went all out in it and.. It made Something resonate in me. I am not sure what it was, but it'll stay with me to the end of my day's.
5. Which moment pops up randomly in your head?
The first time we meet Brook, that moment will forever haunt me. Brook's voice is so gentle and it just makes you pay attention to him in it along with just how nonchalant he is while he sips his imaginary tea.
6. Who is your favourite character and why?
Uhhhh I absolutely suck with choosing favourites, I can't even say what my favourite food is! But here's a list of the characters I'm attached to for no particular reason? I honestly never know why I like someone, it's not really that important to me, if you like someone, you usually like everything in that person. The following block of names isn't in any order because I am a chaotic dumbass.
Rosinante Donquixote, Coby, Eustass Kidd, Trafalgar D. Water Law, Killer, Shachi, Bepo, Penguin, Shirahoshi, Katamuri, Brulee, Pudding, Niji, Ichiji, Yonji, Reiju, Chiffon, Lola, Ikkaku, Portgas D. Ace, Sabo, Monkey D. Luffy, Roronoa Zoro, Black Leg Sanji, Cat burglar Nami, God Usopp, Tony Tony Chopper, Nico Robin, Franky, Jinbe, Emporio Ivankov, Sengoku, Fujitora, Rebekka, Vivi, Koala, Tiger, Otama, Okiku, Komurasaki, Izo, Marco, Edward Newgate, Thatch
7. How much has One Piece impacted your life?
I am literally as old as the manga (23 years old (2020)) so uhh... Use that as a measure I guess? No, don't really do that. But it's.. It's kind of hard to say, I have been a fan of the series since I was six years old, I've laughed, I've cried, I've grown a lot during the 17 years that I've been part of this fandom.
I can't say that it hasn't had any effect on me nor my views, because I can say that a lot of the way how I look at certain things like familial bonds and friendships were heavily influenced by the series, but I can't even start to measure the amount of impact it truly has had on me.
8. What is your favourite One Piece quote?
“There comes a time when a man has to stand and fight! That time is when his friends' dreams are being laughed at! And I won't let you laugh at that!” - Usopp
“Stop counting only those things you have lost! What is gone, is gone! So ask yourself this. What is there... that still remains to you?!” - Jinbei
“The government says your existence is a crime, but no matter what kind of weapons you may hold, just being alive isn't a sin! There's no crime in living!” - Franky
“You can spill drinks on me, even spit on me. I'll just laugh about it. But If you dare to hurt my friends... I won't forgive you!” - Shanks
“When they are shot through the heart by the bullet of a pistol? No. When they are ravaged by an incurable disease? No. When they drink a soup made from a poisonous mushroom!? No! It’s when… they are forgotten.” - Hiluluk Doctor
“Compared to the "righteous" greed of the rulers, the criminals of the world seem much more honorable. When scum rules the world, only more scum is born.” - Eustass "Captain" Kid
“Inherited will, a man's dream, and the flow of time. As long as man continues to seek out the answer to freedom, these things shall never be stopped.” - Gol D. Roger
Honestly, I couldn't choose only one out of this bunch, I've tried before and I always fail because they all are equally meaningful to me as a person.
9. Which laugh style gets to you most?
I-
I honestly have never thought about it? I don't really notice things like laughing styles, because to me laughter is one of the most beautiful things on earth. It shows the joy within us. And when you come to my age (or this might be more about me as a person) you just... Stop paying attention to something like that? Especially if it sounds natural to your ear.
But then again, my friends time and time again have to remind me that my sense of what is normal is very flexible and abnormal by itself. I might pass a person wearing a horse head out in the public dancing whatever is The meme dance currently and not even realise that it's not something that'd normally just happen in my home town. Yes the before mentioned has happened before.
But yeah, to sum it up: I have literally never paid attention to the laugh quirks of the characters I just don't see them as something that should bother me or make me react to it in other way than being happy for the person to be comfortable enough to actually laugh the way they would laugh when they are alone.
It's just... Laughter?
10. How will you feel when One Piece ends?
The same way as I feel about anything ending most likely, I'll be melancholic over it ending, but happy to have experienced it.

This got.. so fucking long. These were only supposed to be drabbles. Apparently a drabble to me is almost 5k words. Whatever. Hope you like. :) Rating: Explicit Words: 4,662

Law was pissed. No, pissed wasn't right; he was livid. The grip on Nami's wrist was a little too tight, his thumb and forefinger digging slightly into the bone. It wasn't painful, not really, but still let her know he wasn't pleased. He probably didn't even realize the strength he was putting into his hold, too focussed on getting them out of hearing range of his crew. This was the first time they'd seen each other in just over two weeks, both crews having gone off to do their own things when they had the chance during a small lull in battles. In that time, the Straw Hats had found themselves in a couple of scuffles, no thanks to Luffy and his uncanny ability to find trouble around every corner, and in one of said fights Nami found herself injured. It was just a couple of bruised ribs, nothing serious, and definitely not something that warranted Law's current rage. But Chopper hadn't let the Hearts Captain know about it despite their mutual agreement to do so with any injury, just in case Law had some input that Chopper didn't know or think about. Nami knew Law would react like this if he knew she was hurt. It didn't matter how severe, his protective nature of those he cared about knew no bounds, something she found out early on in their relationship, which was why she'd requested Chopper keep this from him. Clearly that was a mistake. One look at her bandaged side the minute she boarded the Tang had fury pinching Law's features, and then the argument started. Practically kicking open the heavy metal door to his quarters, Law dragged Nami into the room behind him before letting it slam back shut. The deafening bang that echoed throughout the space was jarring, and it vibrated in Nami's skull long after the sound dissipated. Law seethed silently for a few minutes, not even bothering to turn around and acknowledge her or release his hold until she finally tugged her hand back with a huff of mild annoyance. This was ridiculous. "I don't understand why you're so angry," Nami muttered when she couldn't handle the suffocating silence any longer, bringing her hand up to her chest to gently sooth the slight throbbing in her wrist. There was a scoff, and then Law was turning on his heel to stare down at her, golden eyes smoldering. He brought a hand up to remove his hat, tossing it behind him to land on his desk before he started raking a hand through unruly black strands. "Don't understand? I thought our crews had an agreement, Nami-ya. Any injury, regardless of how small, was to be reported back to me because of my superior knowledge in the field," Law stated, his voice oddly calm and level despite his anger. That wasn't a good sign, and it had Nami taking a cautious step away, back pressing up against the cold metal of the door. "Worse still, it was an injury you sustained. Your entire crew is reckless!" It wasn't a shout, but the exasperation was there. Nami knew this, already accepted that the majority of her crew was headstrong and would throw themselves into battle without a second thought. But for some reason hearing it from Law, right now, had the urge to defend her friends bubbling up. Brown eyes narrowed as she stared at Law, who was no longer holding eye contact. Instead, he was glaring a hole into the wall beside her head. Nami dropped her hands down to her sides, where they balled into fists. "You make it sound like you think my crew is incompetent, Torao. Chopper is an incredible doctor who is more than capable of dealing with our crew's injuries without your input! And as you can see, I'm fine! It was just a couple of bruised ribs, that's all." "That's not the point," Law growled out instantly, eyes shifting back to her face as he took a menacing step forward. His expression darkened before he continued. "What if it was worse? What if you died? Would Tony-ya have kept that from me too?" That made Nami pause, lips still parted like she was going to make a retort but no words came out. Was that why he was so mad? He was thinking about the what ifs? There was no way that would be a possibility. Death wasn't an option for any of them, and they had each other's back. She only got hurt because she was distracted, like they all were, for a split second. But a split second was all that was needed, wasn't it? Slowly, Nami closed her mouth, brow furrowing. She couldn't deny the fact that if something like that did happen, it would be kept from Law until their crews met back up again. Relaying a death through Den Den Mushi wouldn't have been appropriate, they all knew that. It was disrespectful, even. Nami's silence seemed to be all the confirmation Law needed, because he let out a strained groan before running his fingers through his hair again in frustration. That look in his eyes was so feral, something she didn't see on the normally cool and collected man all that often. It was like he was ready to explode at any second and take his anger out on her. Every muscle in her body was pulled taut with apprehension. Really, she knew he wouldn't get physical with her; knew that he would punch a hole through the wall beside her before ever laying a hand on her person. But still, he'd given some pretty colorful threats to her in the past when their companionship was rocky at best, and they were all at the forefront of her mind right now. "How long?" He eventually asked, teeth gritting as his gaze dropped down to the bandages wrapped around her torso. His voice pulled Nami from her thoughts, and she looked dumbly at the surgeon for a second, not quite catching the words that were said. "What?" "How long since the injury," Law ground out, jaw visibly clenching in annoyance at having to repeat himself. Nami hummed softly, one hand subconsciously moving to the right side of her ribcage where the blooms of discoloration in all different stages of healing littered her skin, hidden beneath the white strips of cloth. "A week, week and a half maybe?" Something passed over Law's features at her answer—relief maybe?—but it was gone as quickly as it appeared, and then he was surging forward into Nami's space. He crowded her against the door with his larger body, and she had enough time to let out a squeak of surprise at his proximity before his lips crashed down on her's. This was not the reaction she was expecting, and instead of her eyes falling shut like they normally did when Law kissed her, they widened. She figured they would spiral back into another argument about how she should be resting in bed or something so she didn't cause more damage to herself, doubting a week was anywhere close to enough time in his eyes. But this? There was an edge of desperation in the way Law's lips moved against her's. The action was so familiar, so easy to fall into, yet something was wrong, that much was obvious. He wasn't doing this for the simple pleasure of it all. However, as much as Nami wanted to lean back, resolve the issues brought on by her stupidity before they continued, she couldn't. Not when this was clearly something he needed right now. Nami gasped when she felt Law's hands grip roughly at her hips, thumbs digging into supple, unmarked flesh, and he pushed her both further into the metal behind her, and closer to his lean form, effectively pinning her in place. He wasted no time in taking advantage of her vulnerability, tongue slipping easily into her mouth to coax her own into a battle for dominance. Nami knew he would win, he always did, but she wasn't going to go down without a good fight. It was intoxicating, and before long Nami felt like her head was in the clouds, a mantra of nothing but his name echoing in the back of her mind. On instinct, her hands lifted to tangle into the mess of soft raven locks, nails scraping along Law's scalp, and he groaned brokenly into her mouth. The sound shot heat straight down her spine to pool low in her gut, and she knew she could get off on that noise alone. Nami nipped at his lower lip as his tongue retreated from her mouth, a sign that he was about to lean back. Hot, panting breaths fanned across her face, smelling faintly of toothpaste, warm liquor and something that was entirely Law. Nami slowly opened her eyes and was instantly met with molten gold peering back at her, a million different emotions roiling within their depths. She watched in silence as Law's gaze flicked down to her lips, where she teasingly darted out her tongue to wet them, and his eyebrows pulled together. Leaning forward, Law buried his face into the crook of her neck, teeth nipping and biting almost painfully at her skin as his hands pulled her closer. Hips met hips, and in one fluid motion he ground against her, allowing her to feel exactly how hard he was within his jeans. Want pulsed through her, and Nami involuntarily bucked into him as she whimpered, fingers dragging down the back of his neck. "Fuck," Law whispered, voice muffled from how he was continuing to litter her skin in marks. His marks. "Fuck." "Law-" "Don't." Nami froze up at the demanding tone, hands going still where they rested on Law's shoulders. It was like a bucket of ice water had been dumped over her head, bringing her back from the edge of her lusty haze. She could still feel his heavy breathing against her neck, coming out in pants through his nose since he'd latched onto her clavicle. There was another whimper on the tip of her tongue, and she wanted to move so badly, but the death grip he had on her waist stopped her from doing anything more than squirm. It was almost like he was trying to get himself under control, and Nami almost asked him what was wrong before he seemed to snap out of it and started to move again. Slowly, Law's hands loosened from her waist and travelled back down over her hips, the swell of her ass before stopping at the back of her thighs where he hoisted her up effortlessly. Nami knew what she was meant to do, and curled her legs tightly around his hips, bringing him as close as was humanly possible in their current position. With her skirt now out of the way, bunched up haphazardly around her hips from being lifted up, and only the thin fabric of her panties and thick denim of his jeans between them, Nami was even more aware of Law's erection. She bit down on her lower lip to keep from whining, arousal flaring back up at the thought of soon having him ramming into her. She pointedly ignored the fact that her ribs felt like they were on fire, punching the air from her lungs, and used her arousal as an excuse for her gasping. If Law knew this was hurting her, he would no doubt stop, and right now that was the last thing she wanted. Law released her skin from between his teeth to lap at the reddened bite mark left behind on her collarbone. It was almost giving her whiplash with how quickly he could go from being rough to laving her in affection. A needling in the back of her mind cut through her arousal for a second time and made her wonder exactly what was going through his mind. What made him say what he did seconds earlier? He sounded frantic, like he was on the verge of losing himself. But just as quickly as the thought materialized her care dispersed. He seemed to be over whatever it was, and if something was happening in his head, she was more than willing to talk about it. Later. Feeling Law's tongue trailing up her throat, Nami felt it was safe to move her hands, and instantly started fighting with pulling his shirt off. She bunched the fabric up at his shoulder blades, and then tugged it over his head, not caring that he was in the middle of nipping at her earlobe. Law leaned back long enough to free himself before he returned back to his previous ministrations, low groans and growls rumbling in the back of his throat. "Tell me if you're hurting," Law mumbled into the sensitive skin just below her ear, the vibrations of his voice causing a full body shudder to ripple through her. "Law," Nami growled out this time, impatience clear in her tone as she tossed the offending garment aside once his arms were free. "You need to shut up and fuck me." Her snark got a deep chuckle from the surgeon, and that sound had all the tension Nami was still holding onto from earlier evaporating all at once. Anchoring herself with her hands back on his shoulders, feet hooking at the base of his spine to dig her heels in, she ground her hips against him teasingly. He wouldn't be able to feel how soaked she was with his jeans still in the way, but she knew he would be imagining it. There was a hitch in his throat that she so clearly heard, and then he was sucking another mark into the space behind her ear. "Eager are we, kitten?" There he was. It seemed her Law was back. Finally. Reaching a hand down between them, Law deftly undid the button of his jeans and pulled down the zipper in as slowly of a fashion as he could, each individual tooth clicking audibly. Nami distracted herself as he took his sweet old time freeing his cock from his jeans by leaning down and sucking the two golden hoops within his left ear into her mouth. Another groan was muffled against her throat when her teeth gently dragged on Law's earlobe, and Nami hummed in reaction, hips rolling to feel his knuckles rub at her clit through the fabric of her panties. Pleasure jolted through her core, and Nami arched her back in response, nipples instantly hardening under the stiff material of her bikini top. It'd been too long since they were last together, and now that they seemed to finally be getting somewhere, everywhere Law touched felt like it was lit on fire. Nami was hyper aware of the one hand he was using to support her at the back of her thigh, and now that he seemed to notice her intentions of getting off using his knuckles, he purposefully angled his other hand so she could get a better angle. It achieved the desired effect, and Nami let out a surprised moan on her next grind against his hand, but now he was going to take even longer, she was sure. "Law, please," Nami whimpered after releasing her hold on his ear, tone pitched with need. Fingers curled at his shoulders to dig perfectly manicured nails into tanned skin before she dragged them down his chest, stopping just before she caught his nipples. As much as she loved the teasing, the build up, now wasn't the time. Not after everything they'd just gone through to get to this point. She wouldn't admit to it, but when Law got angry, even if it was at her, it turned her on beyond belief. "That's it, beg for me. Tell me how much you want my cock." Keeping her distracted with a couple more dirty promises whispered hotly into her ear, even taking the time to suck on her earlobe, Law finished pulling his cock free from his jeans. Precum was already leaking from the tip from how much he had been holding himself back from simply railing her, and like Nami, he was clearly reaching the end of his patience. Nami nuzzled into the side of Law's neck, not paying any real attention to what he was doing between their bodies now, and she complied with his demand of hearing her beg. If that's what it took to get what she wanted, she'd do it, her usual stubbornness be damned. "I want to feel the stretch only you can give me. Fuck me hard, and don't you dare think about my injuries right now. Finish what you started, Law... let me feel you cum inside me," she whispered, breaths puffing against his throat. With a guttural, highly aroused growl, Law rubbed the head of his cock teasingly along Nami's slick folds, which resulted in another whine, and her hips bucked in an attempt to get him inside. It didn't do what she wanted though, and Law simply pushed her more roughly against the door, once again pinning her with his hips. Her legs tightened around him, barely giving him any real room to slide her underwear out of the way and maneuver his cock to her entrance. One swift thrust forward after moving his hand out of the way to grip at her other thigh, and Law was sliding home. Their mixed groans of satisfaction echoed throughout Law's room, and Nami threw her head back to thud against the door. Law stayed still for a few moments as Nami adjusted to his size, simply enjoying the way her walls fluttered around him from the sudden intrusion. She was clawing at his back, and the slight sting only adding to the pleasure he felt. "Shit..." Nami breathed out on a stuttered breath. Creamy, well toned thighs flexed at Law's sides as she tried to distract herself from the pain radiating through her torso because of her ribs. Instead, she put as much focus as she could manage on the undercurrent of pleasure thrumming from her core. "You okay?" She heard Law murmur against the curve of her neck, the slightest hint of worry in his tone. Feather light kisses were pressed into her skin, and Law only stopped to nip at the marks he'd already placed there earlier. "Mmm..." Giving Nami's thighs a squeeze, Law leaned back without jostling her too much to no doubt take in her expression. She knew she probably looked like she was hurting with her eyes closed, eyebrows pinched together. But she couldn't help it, not right now anyway. If he would just give her what she wanted, she was sure she'd be fine. "Nami-ya." "Law. What did I say...? Start moving," she hissed, curling her arms tightly around his neck to bring him closer and gave an impatient roll of her hips. After a moment's hesitation, Nami could hear Law give a resigned sigh before he slowly pulled his hips back, the drag of his cock along her sensitive walls drawing a pleased hum from her. He stopped when only the flared tip was nestled within, before he snapped his hips forward again, burying himself to the root for a second time. Nami gasped at the mixed sensation of both pleasure and pain, and her back arched away from the door, hips angling so on Law's next thrust his cock reached deeper within her. He set a steady pace after making sure he wasn't doing more harm than good, though it was obvious he was starting to care less and less about whether he was hurting her or not, and soon Nami's gasps turned into full blown moans. It was music to his ears, and after letting a smug grin spread across his lips, he leaned forward to attack her neck again. "That's right, kitten... sing for me," Law growled into her ear, seeming to finally give himself over to his more primal desires. His thrusts grew rougher, more frantic; exactly the way Nami wanted him to fuck her. The bruising grip he had on her thighs continued to tighten, making it all the more obvious that he wasn't thinking about her injuries anymore, and she knew his fingers would be leaving marks when this was over. Nami didn't care though, and egged him on by screaming his name at a particularly rough thrust, the length of his cock dragging along one of the most sensitive spots within her core. Luckily, with his bedroom door being solid metal, their actions weren't as obvious as it would have been if they were fucking against a wooden door. But her back was still thudding quite loudly every time Law fucked forward. Anyone who was relatively close would know exactly what was happening. Neither Law nor Nami had any shame, and on more than one occasion the residents of both the Tang and the Sunny knew what they were up to. So the worry of being caught was nowhere to be found. "Oh, Law... Law, shit-" Nami's words got cut off by another cry, and fingers knotted into Law's hair. She tugged roughly, pulling his face from where he was busy sucking yet another hickey onto her shoulder. Dark chocolate met molten gold as Nami took in the pleasure filled expression on Law features, knowing her face was mirroring the look. He grinned, the stretch of his lips almost feral, and she couldn't help but smirk back before she lurched forward and kissed him. It was a lustful, messy clash of teeth and lips, nothing anywhere close to passionate, and he continued to fuck relentlessly into her, rhythm all but gone from the snap of his hips. Nami could feel her climax building quickly now that she was being given what she wanted, the tell-tale tingling starting in the pit of her stomach and working its way outward. Tears sprung at the corners of her eyes and started sliding down her cheeks from how intense the pleasure was. "Mmm... g-gonna cum-" "Yeah? Let go then, beautiful, cum all over my cock," Law crooned, a little breathless, and brought one hand between their bodies again to rub borderline violent circles around her clit. That was the little extra she needed, mixed with the permission he gave, and Nami toppled head first over the edge. A high pitched scream of his name ripped from her throat as she climaxed, walls clamping down in rhythmic pulses around his thick cock. Thighs quivered against Law's sides, features pinching as she rode out the immense shocks of pleasure that had tingles running along her skin from head to toe. Somewhere amongst the post-orgasmic bliss she was floating in, feeling very much like she was on cloud nine at the moment, Nami felt Law still against her with a full body shudder, his hot seed spilling into her more than welcoming body. A drawn out groan of her name reached her ears, muffled slightly from where his teeth had sunk into her throat, and she mumbled incoherently in response, something that sounded like his name repeated over and over again. Nami could feel the beginnings of exhaustion creeping in around the edges of her consciousness when the last bits of pleasured haze lifted, and she sighed softly, angling her head forward enough to press her forehead against Law's shoulder. He was still holding her up against the door with his hands secure at the back of her thighs, just under her ass, and was taking his time with lightly kneading the skin and muscle there. But she was sure it would only be a matter of seconds before he pulled her away to instead make them both comfortable in bed. He couldn't hold her up forever, no matter how strong he was. Sure enough, Law did exactly as she expected he would after slowly pulling his softening cock from her, the action causing them both to sigh in unison. Nami could feel his cum leaking from her cunt now that she was empty, and her nose wrinkled up at the slight unpleasantness of it, but decided to ignore the sensation for the most part. One of Law's hands shifted from her thighs so he could curl his arm around her waist and hold her close while they moved through the room, the sound of heeled boots hitting wood with each step echoing against the walls. Nami unhooked her legs—which, even while not using them, felt like jelly—from Law's waist as he walked, making it easier for him to maneuver her around once they got to the bed. Her arms stayed draped over his shoulders, fingers gently dug into his shoulder blades. Being extra careful with her now that he was back in his right mind, no longer blinded by lust and anger, he laid her down in his bed like she was made of the most precious glass, and made sure she was in a position that would be the least irritating on her ribs before crawling in beside her, shoes and all. Both didn't seem to mind that they were still clothed, or that said clothes were partially askew on their bodies, namely Nami's skirt which was currently bunched up around her hips. None of that mattered to her, though, and Nami wasted no time in curling up against Law's side once he was settled, pointedly ignoring the sound of annoyance that came from his throat at her ruining the position he'd initially put her in. "You're going to hurt yourself more," he grumbled, already knowing that his scolding was falling on deaf ears. Nami allowed a lazy smile to spread across her lips, revealing just how much she actually cared about his statement, and tilted her head from where it was resting on the edge of his shoulder to peer up at Law's face. His gaze was on her own shoulder and neck that wasn't currently covered by the tangled orange mess that was her hair, and from his expression almost looked guilty. Almost. Bringing a hand up, he gently brushed her hair back behind her shoulder, exposing the full amount of damage he'd done to her, and despite the look of guilt, Nami swore she could see some pride welling up in his eyes at seeing the purling bite marks and hickies. "Going to have to start buying you some scarves," Law mused, tracing the marks with a fingertip like he was playing connect the dots. "But I wouldn't mind people seeing these... Lets them know you're mine." Law's possessiveness always managed to strike something deep within Nami, especially after intimate moments like this, and she could feel her cheeks heating up in reaction. It had a smug, knowing grin stretching across the surgeon's features, but before she could retort with a witty remark, or get mad about how there was no way she could hide these from her crew, his expression levelled back out to something a little more serious. "How are you feeling?" The change in subject was only slightly appreciated, and Nami hummed, turning her head enough to press her lips to his chest just on the outer edge of his heart tattoo. "Sore... But I'll be fine. More tired than anything," she murmured honestly into his skin, eyes falling shut because suddenly it seemed like too much effort to keep them open. "Get some rest. I'll give you an examination when you get up to make sure we didn't complicate the healing process." She wasn't against that idea, and sleep was already tugging at her. There didn't really seem to be much of a point in fighting it anymore, either. Though, before Nami could completely succumb to unconsciousness, there was something she needed to say to him. "Mm... Law?" "Yeah?" "I'm sorry for keeping it from you..." "... Go to sleep, Nami-ya."

Siblings Lost and Found
(Ikkaku's been the Heart Pirates' mechanic for a year, but is she just another one of Law's subordinates, or does she mean more? Special thanks (and blame) to @shambledsurgeon for suggesting this idea and @scribblrhob for suggesting the song "In My Life" by The Beatles for maximum feels. Any tears are their fault)
It was well past midnight when Ikkaku’s shift was finally over. Clione as he come to relieve her, and she couldn’t be more grateful. In the year since she’d become the Heart Pirates’ mechanic, she’d discovered that life on the high seas wasn’t always as exciting as it sounded.
In fact, with the ocean so calm and little more to be seen beyond schools of fish and the occasional shark, it was hard to stay awake and focused. She’d resorted to drinking three cups of coffee and playing with her hair, braiding and straightening until finally settling on a pair of simple pigtails, mostly for the sake of getting her thick locks off the back of her neck. The Polar Tang had been underwater for a while, so it was stuffy and humid—Bepo would start complaining soon, and Law would have to agree to surface.
Thinking about the poor Mink, Ikkaku decided to take a detour to the library. Aside from the operatory and the morgue, it was the room with the best air conditioning and Bepo could sometimes be found bunked up in there if his quarters became too hot. If he were awake, maybe she’d sit up with him for a bit; with all the caffeine in her system, she knew she wouldn’t be drifting off anytime soon.
The library was in fact occupied, but not by who she’d expected. Slumped over one of the tables was Law, medical books and papers scattered beneath him. He’d been suffering another bout of insomnia for the past week, but normally when he was like that, he spent his nights in the lab or his office.
Must be avoiding Shachi and Penguin’s hovering, she thought, shaking her head. When the captain got like this, those two always went out of their way to try to force him to take care of himself. As much as Law griped about it being insubordination, she was positive he secretly appreciated it; after all, they were two of his closest friends. Practically his brothers.
She wished her own brothers had been like that.
Ikkaku quietly crept into the room to lower the lights—Law must have been truly exhausted to have fallen asleep while working. She briefly wondered if she should wake him long enough to help him move to the couch, but she decided against it—he’d suffer some nasty neck cramps in the morning, but it was better than disturbing his much-needed rest.
When she tried to remove the pen from his hand, however, Law stirred. Ikkaku froze, half crouched above him, silently praying that he hadn’t awoken. She was close enough that, even in the dim light, she could see the way his face scrunched up. Was he dreaming? She could see his eyes darting about under his eyelids, as if searching for something, and his breath came out in shuddering little gasps.
Law was surrounded by choking death. White hospital walls were engulfed in flame and crumbling around him as he ran through the winding, labyrinthine halls.
Mother and father were dead. The soldiers were killing everyone they saw. Flevance was in ruins. It was hot and everything reeked of smoke, blood, and stinking death. Wide, lifeless eyes stared at him in cold judgement as he sprinted past crumpled corpses.
You told her to stay put, they whispered maliciously. This is your fault.
No. He’d told her to hide in the closet for just a few minutes. He’d always intended to come back for her. He didn’t mean to leave his sister behind. He thought she’d be safe!
He had to get to Lamie!
There! The closet was straight ahead! He could hear Lamie inside, screaming for her big brother to save her.
He flung open the door only to find a woman with dark, curly hair and a bandana staring up at him instead.
“Law, it’s me…”
Taking in his pained and panicked expression, it was clear that Law was in the clutches of a pretty intense nightmare, and Ikkaku wasn’t the kind of woman who stood idly by while her captain was suffering.
Grateful that he didn’t have Kikoku on him to slice her to bits if he woke up in a hostile mood, she grabbed his shoulder and shook hard. “Law, it’s me. Hey, wake up!”
“Lamie?” he asked, eyes bleary and unfocused.
“Law, what’s—” Ikkaku started, only for her captain to grab her shoulder and pull her in for a hug. Immediately, she stiffened. Law was not a hugger. Sure, on good days he deigned to be hugged—mostly by Bepo—but he wasn’t the sort to initiate platonic, physical displays of affection.
“You’re ok,” he gasped. He squeezed her tightly and buried his head in her shoulder, breathing deeply. She didn’t smell like smoke or sickness or death.
She smelled like engine oil and coffee, though, with a hint of ginger lotion underneath. Scents that could never be associated with Lamie.
Reluctantly, he became aware of his surroundings. He wasn’t in the charred remains of the hospital. Wasn’t surrounded by the bodies of his friends and family, or soldiers pointing guns at him.
He was in his ship’s library, alone with his mechanic, who was staring at him in shock because he was practically crushing her to his chest.
Law mentally berated himself as he pushed Ikkaku away, brain finally catching up to his body. He’d fallen asleep, had a nightmare, and like some frightened child had latched onto the first person he saw upon being awoken. Disgusting, uncaptainlike behavior that never should have been witnessed by his subordinate.
“Sorry,” he mumbled, rubbing his eyes while trying to play it cool to retain some dignity. “I…thought you were someone else.”
“Someone named Lamie,” Ikkaku pressed, taking the seat beside him and reaching for his hand. “Law, please; I know I’ve only been around for a year, but if something’s bothering you—”
“It’s nothing.”
Her eyes narrowed. “Bullshit. ‘Nothing’ doesn’t cause nightmares. You can talk to me.”
“Fine, it’s not nothing, but it’s none of your damn business,” he growled, refusing to look at her. He felt irrationally angry; in his dream, he’d been so close to saving his sister, only for Ikkaku to replace her. Then, upon awakening, he’d had a faint moment of delusional hope that maybe Lamie really was alive, only to be replaced again.
Ikkaku recoiled, his harsh tone stinging as much as his words. It wasn’t any of her business because she was just his subordinate. Yet despite his creepy and sadistic tendencies, over the past year, she’d grown attached to him. He was caring and honorable and protective; everything she’d wished her brothers had been. In fact, she’d started to wonder if he felt a hint of brotherly affection towards her; he never seemed to give her more than a slap on the wrist for backtalk. Was quick to scare off unsavory men in taverns. Trusted her judgement when it came to the submarine’s engine, even though she’d been just an apprentice mechanic when he’d hired her.
Clearly, she’d looked too deeply into his actions. He tolerated her sass because he was too busy to reprimand her. Protected her because he couldn’t risk something happening to his mechanic. Accepted her input because he didn’t know enough to contradict her.
Ikkaku wasn’t anything special to him. Everything he did was for practical reasons.
Pulling away before she broke her own heart, she grumbled, “Fine, but I’m telling Penguin about this. You need to talk to someone, and if you don’t trust me—”
“I trust you,” Law stated, glancing at her out of the corner of his eye, brow furrowed in confusion.
“You trust me to keep the Tang sailing. To tell you if the engine needs repairs or if there’s a maintenance issue. To have your back in a fight. You trust me like any captain should trust his subordinate.” As she stood up, she forced a smile; something she hadn’t had to do since joining his crew. “That’s the kind of trust that matters, right? That we both know how to do our jobs and keep each other alive on the treacherous, unforgiving sea. Anything else…well that’s just gravy, right?” Despite herself, her lip quivered slightly, forcing her to pretend to organize some of the books on the table so he wouldn’t see her moment of weakness.
From his seat, Law stared at her. In the year she’d been onboard, he’d determined his mechanic to be reckless, outspoken, and loyal. Compassionate to those she considered friends. Genuine. Determined. Intelligent. Vibrant.
Everything he’d imagined his sister would become.
Coming to a decision, Law grabbed Ikkaku’s forearm to get her attention. “Lamie…Lamie was my sister. She died in a hospital fire when I was a kid.”
“Oh gods,” Ikkaku whispered, free hand covering her mouth in horror.
“She wore pigtails,” he admitted, glancing at the twin bunches of hair. “Some days, it’s hard to remember her face, but I can always picture those.”
“I…shit, Law, I’ll take them out,” she offered, immediately reaching up to release the ties.
“Don’t. It’s fine. It just confused me. In the dream, I was searching for her. Everyone else was dead, and the hospital was burning all around me, but I had to find her. I’d told her to hide in a closet while I went to find mother and father, but they were already dead—”
“It’s ok,” she whispered, instinctively sitting back down so she could pull him into a hug. “You don’t need to tell me. I’m…that wasn’t your fault.” No wonder he was so reluctant to let people in. She’d heard about things like survivor’s guilt, and Bepo had implied that he’d lost a lot of people in his short life.
Ikkaku suddenly felt guilty for overstepping her boundaries. She should have let him come to her when he was ready instead of forcing her way in. Hell, she shouldn’t even be hugging him without permission!
But when she tried to pull away, she felt Law’s hand on her back, refusing to let her move an inch.
“You…make me miss her less. Her smile always brightened up the room. When she was sick, I spent a lot of my free time trying to cheer her up. To make her laugh. Sometimes, when you laugh, I close my eyes and pretend it’s hers. That I hadn’t failed, and she’d grown up to become a smart, vibrant young woman like you.”
Ikkaku worried her lip, mulling over his words and debating how she should respond. He’d opened up to her. Trusted her as more than a subordinate. She was something special to him.
He deserved to know she felt the same.
“Law, I…I grew up with four older brothers. All of them were dicks who wanted nothing to do with me. They’d cut my hair off, break my stuff, mock me for wanting to be a mechanic—hell, they once tried to abandon me in the woods.” She looked up at him with a small, sad smile. “So believe me when I say you didn’t fail. You did everything you could. Lamie was damn lucky to have such a loving, protective big brother.”
Law’s heart clenched. Honestly, he’d felt guilty, pushing his feelings for his sister onto Ikkaku. Partially because he felt like he was replacing Lamie; like he was trying to erase his mistakes. And partially because he knew it was unfair to Ikkaku. She deserved to be appreciated for herself, not as some substitute for a girl who died years ago.
But…she didn’t seem to mind. Considering her own brothers, perhaps Ikkaku had secretly appreciated those moments where he’d been a bit overprotective, or unconsciously spoiled her in some way. Perhaps Lamie would even approve of this coping mechanism. Perhaps his subconscious had put her in his dream to show him that, while it was too late for his sister, there was another girl he could still protect.
Such thoughts were better analyzed when he was less tired.
Arm dropping from its place at her back, he pulled away from the embrace. “Help me get to my quarters. Penguin will bitch for hours if he finds out I fell asleep in the library again.”
“Sure thing, Boss,” Ikkaku said, tugging him to his feet. It seemed their little moment was over, but she didn’t mind, especially if it meant Law would actually get some rest. “Want me to call Bepo? He’d be happy to let you use him as a pillow.”
“No. He needs his rest. We’ll surface first thing in the morning—the sub’s getting too stuffy.”
“Yeah,” she agreed, wrapping one of his long arms around her shoulders to better support his lethargic body as they walked down the hall in comfortable silence.
When they arrived at his quarters, she asked, “Sure you don’t need anything? I drank too much coffee, so I’ll be awake for a while. I could clean up the library, or—”
“If you want to help…” Law trailed off, hesitating. He internally debated voicing his request before finally swallowing his pride. “Stay with me a bit. To make sure I actually do fall back asleep. If it’s not too much trouble.”
“Yeah. Sure, I can do that,” she said with a surprised smile.
Stepping aside, he let her into the room. “Just so you know, if you tell anyone about this, I’ll cut out your tongue and preserve it in formaldehyde.”
Her grin sharpened into something a bit more teasing. Ah, there was the creepy captain she knew and loved. “As if anyone would believe that the big, bad Surgeon of Death needed someone to hold his hand and scare the nightmares away.”
“I never asked you to hold my hand.”
She giggled before dragging his desk chair over to his bed while he kicked off his shoes and crawled under the covers.
“Did you check under the bed for monsters?” he asked dryly, a hint of his sarcastic smirk lifting his lips.
She rolled her eyes. “Please, like there’s anything scarier than you on this ship.”
“Damn straight,” he replied, letting out a jaw-cracking yawn. His eyes drooped a bit as his head sank into the pillow. “Know any lullabies?”
“A few. You really want one?”
“Could be nice, especially if it’s the last time I hear your voice should you not manage to keep your mouth shut about this.”
Sniggering, Ikkaku tousled his hair before clearing her throat, softy singing as her captain gradually drifted off.
“Though I know I'll never lose affection For people and things that went before I know I'll often stop and think about them In my life I love you more.”

Introduction
Name: Momo Hinamori Age: 150 -170 (approximately) Your favorite picture of your muse:
Tumblr media
Questions
01.  What would be their twitter name? What sorts of tweets would they tweet?
Probably something peach related like imjustpeachy or peachesnotplums, cause she loves peaches.  Plums?  Not so much.  Sorry Tobiume.
She would post cutesy photos, art related things, pictures of the things she bakes, and lots of positivity.  Wait...did I just describe this blog?  Hmm....that is what happens when Momo runs the show.
02.  What’s their favourite genre of movies? Of music?
She gravitates toward stories with high fantasy, romantic comedies, and of course those cult classics that Captain Hirako has introduced her to (John Hughes movies like Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, The Breakfast Club).
Her taste in music is pretty eclectic, influenced by many different sources.  Primarily, she likes music which is upbeat and uplifting...although there are times (like when she paints, to draw inspiration) when she plays music with darker themes and haunting melodies.
03.  What’s on their top queue on Netflix?
Animated movies and TV Shows like Powerpuff Girls, romantic comedies, and cooking shows...mostly.
04.  What’s their favourite scent? Do they smell like that?
Fresh baked cookies, fresh cut flowers....and for some reason...peppermint tea.
She smells like lavender (every day) and jasmine flower (special occasions), depending.
05.  Apple or Android?
Whatever Captain Hirako buys her...so far...Apple.  Hooray for iPod.
06.  Favourite Season? Least favourite season?
Spring and Summer.  Because flowers.
07. Are they a bottom or top or versatile?
Momo is confused by this question, and I am glad of it.
08.  Describe their morning routine. Do they wake up early or sleep in? Do they press the snooze button a bunch of times or do they immediately get up?
Wakes up without an alarm, gets up immediately.  Usually without much grumbling, unless she did not sleep well.  Showers, and gets dressed.  Afterward, she makes sure Leonardo is all set for the day with food and tells him what she has planned for the day.   If she has baked the night before, gets things ready to take to the office.
09.  If they were to be compared to a canon character, who would that be? (Spirit animal )
Hmmm...There are quite a few, but the ones that come to mind the quickest (and most prominent) are...
Kagome from Inuyasha.  They are both empathetic and have gentle hearts, and wear their emotions on their sleeves.
Uraraka from BNHA.  They are both warm and think positively about things, and their reactions can be exaggerated at times.  Especially when flustered.
10. Finish this sentence, muse:  What would ___ do?
“What would Blossom do?”
Tag five people so they can get to know their muse too!

@shambledsurgeon asked: ❝they don’t deserve you—  i don’t deserve you.  but at least i’m aware of it.❞ JEALOUS, FIERCELY PROTECTIVE & TERRITORIAL PROMPTS
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"I don't suppose it'd do any good to argue about whether people not deserving me is a negative or a positive, huh?" Ikkaku asked, frowning. Despite receiving nothing but love from her captain and crew for the past several years, the scars from the first sixteen years of her life we still etched on her heart.
Back on Joras, she was hated. Seen as a bad omen. Even the non-superstitious folk hated her simply because Ushi did. For six years her own family had told her that she'd stolen the life her twin brother should have had. That she didn't deserve the love or happiness he should have gotten, and anyone who did care about her was a fool or would be cursed.
So of course she worried about people deserving her. Even if, logically, she knew what Law meant, it wasn't easy to keep her mind from twisting it. But at least he was just as stubborn as she was. More so, even, when he wanted to be. And despite the whispers that slithered through her mind, there was always one thing that could not be drowned out keeping them at bay:
Law didn't love easily, but he loved her. And if he could love her, maybe she did deserve to be loved.
That made her frown shift into a small, content smile, so she leaned her head against her captain's shoulder, ignoring the men who had earlier been trying to get her attention. Her place was with him, and her family, and even if no one else deserved her, they certainly did.

Plotted starter for @shambledsurgeon

There were people out there who assumed that the only member of the Heart Pirates who was even remotely useful in a fight was Law. That the rest of the crew were simply cheerleaders while their captain did all the heavy lifting. Because of that, there were plenty of opportunistic, foolish parties, from Marines to pirates to bounty hunters, who would try to ambush the Hearts when they thought Law wasn’t around.
Too bad for them, Law didn’t employ weaklings.
Slamming her fist into the Marine ensign’s face, breaking his nose and knocking him unconscious, Ikkaku assessed the situation. Darter had already killed four sailors by himself, his axe utterly drenched in blood as he ducked and weaved the sword-swings of what would be his fifth victim. Hakugan was dealing with two lieutenants on his own, his halberd forcing them to keep their distance lest they get disemboweled. Finally, Crozier was going hand-to-hand with a Marine that was three times his size, the arctic survivalist’s swift movements keeping him from ending up with a fist the size of a watermelon bashing his head in. They were the last of the Marines standing, their companions laying in heaps on the ground either bleeding out or unconscious.
Something didn’t sit right, though. Ikkaku could feel in her gut that something was off.
The sound of a gunshot, followed immediately by Darter’s scream of pain, proved her right. Head whipping to the side, she saw the former serial killer clutching his shoulder, blood already staining his boiler suit from the bullet wound. Eyes widening in horror, she charged forward, jamming the end of her shock baton into his Marine opponent’s side before he could cut Darter down. 60,000 volts blasted through his body, smoke rising off of his charred skin as he collapsed.
“Ikkaku,” Darter gasped, and she immediately grabbed her shipmate, pulling him behind a nearby tree in case the sniper was still around. “You need to get out of here.”
“Don’t worry. We’re safe, and Law should be here any moment to patch you up,” she assured, pulling out her first aid kit. She could now see the bullet had gone straight through the shoulder. Her brow furrowed at that, and she turned to look at the felled Marine. His corpse was still smoking slightly, but she could see the stain of blood surrounding a bullet wound in his chest. Realization hit her like one of Shachi’s fists; the sniper had been aiming for Darter but hadn’t bothered to wait until their comrade was out of the way. It was only thanks to the former’s incredible Observation Haki that he’d likely known the shot was coming and could move enough to avoid it being fatal.
Ikkaku’s gut twisted tighter as she peered out from behind the tree, up onto the ledge where she could now see the sniper blowing the smoke off the barrel of his rifle. He was a good distance away, but she knew him. Recognized the black curls that refused to stay slicked back. The dark eyes so much like her own. The wide shoulders and white coat that hung off them. His head jerked back arrogantly before he jumped off the ledge and disappeared into the forest, his smirk sending a clear message.
Come get me, corpse whale.
A cold wave of fury washed over her. Ushi. Of course Ushi had attacked them. Her fucking entitled, psychopath of a brother had sent his men after her nakama. Had even shot one himself. And now he was luring her into the woods, practically inviting her to come after him. To stop him before he could find a new perch and put a bullet in someone else she cared about.
Ikkaku didn’t think. Simply shook off Darter’s hand around her wrist and bolted into the woods. The blood pounding in her ears deafened her to his pleading for her to come back and wait for Law, but she wouldn’t have listened anyway.
Ushi was her brother. Her problem. She would take care of this and keep her nakama safe. It’s what Law would expect from her.

@shambledsurgeon asked: It was nearly the day. The curse that was Valentines. Everyone was in an uproar over it, prepping for festivities and becoming more...mushy. It had him thinking on  certain types of interactions of crews. He lodged his question to his mechanic. "Hey, what are your opinions on relationships between crew mates?" He attempted to sound nonchalant.
Unprompted
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It was nice, grabbing coffee with her captain and enjoying a little downtime on a small island. Too bad it hadn’t been entirely comfortable. The place was utterly decked out in red and pink heart-shaped decorations in anticipation of the upcoming romantic holiday, and the server had none-too-subtly implied that Ikkaku and Law made a cute couple. A presumption they had both swiftly shot down. So while it was a strange topic, Ikkaku didn’t feel Law’s question completely came out of nowhere, especially considering the number of lovey-dovey couples they had watched stroll by the window.
“Honestly?” she asked, sipping her latte, lips quickly ruining the cinnamon heart that floated on the surface of the hot drink. “I suppose they can work, depending on the couple and the crew’s dynamics as a whole. I guess I can see how the closeness that comes on being part of the same crew, living on the same ship, always being together isn’t entirely unlike married life for some people. So, I mean, if it works for a particular couple, good for them.”
Another pair of lovebirds strolled past the window arm-in-arm, gazing into each others’ eyes so deeply Ikkaku wasn’t entirely sure how they didn’t accidentally walk into something. It was cute, but definitely not something she could imagine herself in. Not that she was opposed to a long-term relationship, but as she watched the couple disappear down the street, she realized that her own idea of the perfect relationship didn’t reflect what most society seemed to idealize.
“I don’t think I could do it, though,” she admitted. “Not with a Heart Pirate. The crew is too much like a family to me.” Perhaps in the very beginning she would have considered it. She had fostered a teenage crush on Law when she first joined the crew, though that had passed within a couple of weeks when she’d realized her infatuation was really because she’d never really experienced platonic affection and had confused the two. She was just grateful Law hadn’t teased her too badly about it after. “Like, I love you guys, but I spend my days in a pressurized metal tube living in close proximity with you all. There are plenty of times you drive me crazy or piss me off and I just need some fucking space. That closeness that might work for some couples? Yeah, I think I need the opposite.”
Putting down her coffee cup, Ikkaku rested her chin in her palm, gazing at one of the red heart-shaped balloons that decorated the café. “I barely get my own space as it is on the Tang. If I was in a relationship with someone on the crew, sooner or later they’d probably permanently want to move into my room, and that little space wouldn’t be just mine anymore. I sure as hell wouldn’t have anyplace besides the engine room to cool off if I’m pissed. But more than that...fuck, a relationship would make things awkward, wouldn’t it? Like, fights would be the whole crew’s business. There’d be that much more pressure to fix things right away because it could fuck up everyone’s teamwork, but since we’d be rushing they wouldn’t be real fixes - just slapping a Band-Aid over the issue instead of genuinely working it out. And if we ever broke up...”
That was definitely the biggest issue. Ikkaku was an incredibly loyal woman and didn’t get into relationships lightly, but she also had a hot temper and could be stubborn and sometimes petty. A break-up with her had the potential to be messy in normal circumstances. But with a crewmate, with how badly such a thing could turn out if she did go that route, it would be ten times worse than with someone on another ship where at least they could part ways and there might at least be time for her to cool off before they saw each other again.
A harsh reality hit her, and Ikkaku’s shoulders slumped. “No. We wouldn’t break up. Not unless they turned out to be some abusive asshole because I know for sure you’d fucking kill him if that were the case, and I don’t think that counts as a break up, really. But that’s pretty fucking unlikely with our crew, so instead I’d just be...bored, I guess. Bored and miserable because I’d feel guilty about breaking up with a crewmate for anything less than being beaten half to death every night. All because my nakama mean the world to me and breaking up with one potentially puts everyone in a bad position. Because with break-ups it’s inevitable that people would have to take sides. The crew would be divided. It would be tense and awkward and we’d all be trapped together while it festers. So I’d force myself to grin and bear it and pretend to be happy because I’m willing to admit I’m the exact kind of stupid who puts others’ happiness first and sets herself on fire to keep others warm.”
With a sigh of acceptance, she shook her head ruefully. “I definitely couldn’t date someone on the same crew. I got nothing but respect for people who can, because they’re clearly a lot braver and more stable than I am. I think I’ll stick to long-distance, definitively non-Heart Pirate relationships for everyone’s sakes.”

He might not outwardly go out of his way to celebrate the occasion but he knows she appreciates it. And as such he's left a rolled up parchment. It might look like a map. But once unrolled it would reveal an elaborate inked sketch of a very familiar place. Somewhere he knew she held special. He wasn't great at gifts. And he had an inkling she would cherish something that had a deeper meaning over something beri had bought.
If nothing else, she was a creature of habit.  There were things she would do without fail - things that until she met him, were unknown to any other - like how she would start and end each day with a conversation she might have with her grandfather, should he still be among the living.  Only this night, the routine would be altered by the appearance of a lone parchment.  Placed conspicuously, where it was sure to be found.
Lithe fingers pulled at the binding, allowing for the contents to be displayed - bright green eyes widen as the image unfolded - along with a sharp intake of breath, and a teary-eyed smile.
Tumblr media
It was a place she recognized almost immediately.  A place she favored greatly as a child, one that held even greater significance since she shared it with him. But seeing it depicted through his eyes, being shown the way he remembered it - made it all the more poignant, special - and even though the vibrant hues of the grass and trees were missing, she never found it to be more beautiful.
This.  This she knew, was how he demonstrated his love for her.

The question is met with stretch of silence, her gaze set intently on his features. Reading things that were unsaid, written beneath the surface of his expression. Thoughts or feelings that were always revealed in those amber hued eyes, if one knew how to see them.  The tone in which the query was delivered might suggest he was teasing her, but his eyes told a different story altogether.

“I suppose that depends upon when and how it comes to pass that you breath your last breath.”  Tattooed arms cross over her chest, “If you were to die by hands of another, I will drag them to hell myself.”  She steps closer, her expression softening.  “But...if I am blessed to spend a long life with you before hand, I would surely follow.  When it is my time.”

She was tucked comfortably at his side, a tattooed hand held in her own - a fingertip tracing the letters that were inked between his knuckles - something that had become a bit of a habit, when they were afforded quiet moments alone.  Like this one.
With a tranquil smile, she shook her head at the question posed.  “I would not.”  Things were precisely as she wanted them to be, and she would not wish for anything less.  “…it was not a complaint, dearest Doctor.  Merely an observation.”  He knew as much to be true as well - she made sure of that - it had been a long while since they agreed that there should be no secrets between them.  It was something that she seemed to be much better at than he - the sharing of thoughts or feelings, spoken aloud - for he preferred to show her how he felt, but there were times when he could or would say it as well.  Although, there may never come a day where the message was not delivered with a teasing tone or the smirk he knew she loved so much.
An single ebon brow arched, her expression coy.  Her tone, playful.  “Only a little more?”  She leaned in closer, and ran a fingertip along his jawline.  “Do I need to remind you what you mean to me, or…”  The soft smile that graced her features was replaced by a smirk of her own, “…should I show you instead?”

One Heart
“What does your heart tell you, Kotori?”
Slender fingers that grip the cup tightly slacken, bright green eyes slide closed and a deep breath is taken.  Ebon brows furrow as she tries to combat the war within her.  For far too long, Tori had been dependent on the transponder - the only means of communication she had with Law, which had gone silent for what seemed like an eternity - she had taken it apart several times, just to be certain that it was functioning properly.  It was also something to keep her mind occupied, so that she would or could not think the worst.  That the reason she had not received even a short message each morning and evening was that something had gone terribly wrong.  Instinct told her to go, to use the skills she possessed to find him.  To do any and every single thing necessary to know that Law and the rest of the crew was alive.  But she was needed there, to protect the sensei - to stay where she was, and provide the care that Sachiyo needed in her frail state - long enough for Law to find a suitable place to move her, so that he could provide the treatment she needed.  In her heart, she knew that he would not break the promise made - that he would return for them both - that she needed to trust in him, have faith that she would hear from him.  As soon as he was able.  In the meantime, she would do what she must.  What she could, from where she was.

“That I am right where I should be, Sensei.”  With her free hand, she reached to place it atop the Sensei’s smaller one.  “Where I am most needed.”  Sachiyo had become so thin, that even the gentlest touch might bruise her skin.  “Let’s get you to bed.  It’s late, and you need to rest.  You remember what Law said…”  An eyebrow raised, and her eyes sparkled as she noted the displeasure that was made evident in the Sensei’s features.  “…about how it was important for you to take it easy?”  Sachiyo leaned back in the chair and crossed her arms over her chest, a heavy sigh exuded.  “I do.  I also believe that he is far too pleased to throw around the phrase, ‘Doctor’s orders’.”   With a hearty chuckle, Tori stood and extended a hand to Sachiyo.  “That he does, Sensei.  None of us are immune from them either.”  Sachiyo placed her hand in Tori’s and stood slowly, taking small steps on wobbly legs.  A warm smile grew on her face, “He is a good man, that Kame.  I am thankful to have you both.”  Tori stood beside her, an arm snaked around the Sensei’s tiny waist. To support her should she stumble as they made their way to her private sleeping quarters.  “I am glad to have you as well, Sensei…and I bet Law just might blush if he ever heard you say that.”
