Flame
Summary: His spark was gone, and then he found her.
Pairing: Steve Rogers x Reader
Warning: dunno, none? maybe a bit of angst (if you squint), mentions of Infinity War (nothing major but that movie in itself is a huge warning to me)
Word Count: 3500+
AN: Ello! Here I am again with my shitty-good writing. Can’t seem to write one story without a slither of angst in it. Sowwy ‘bout that. This is my first time writing for our beloved Captain, so criticize away! Tell me what I can do to make my stories better! Thanks for reading and I really hope you enjoy this... uhm... thing.
Steve had always been a bit of a wildcard, even in his younger days when Bucky used to call him a little runt. He would constantly get into trouble and find himself unable to get out of it. Always searching for a way to show the world that even the smallest of guys could make a big difference. No matter if it left him with scars and bruises.
Yes. Steve was a bit of a wildcard, but he was always restless and alive, much like a forest in the middle of summer.
Then, he finally got his chance to prove his worth through what they called the super soldier program, through which he also met agent Peggy Carter.
She was unlike any girl he had ever met, and much like him, wanted to prove her worth to the world. She was just as wild as him, only more calculated and precise in her actions. Peggy was like a spark. She drew him to her naturally, without having to try. Just like he did to her.
Yes. Peggy Carter was a spark. The spark that lit Steve’s world right up.
When he was pulled out of the ice, years later, the first person his eyes landed on was her. She looked gorgeous, like something out of a pin-up, with wavy Y/H/C hair and kind Y/E/C eyes. But what really drew him to her was her smile. It oozed kindness and understanding and warmth.
“Good morning, my name’s Y/N and I was appointed as your nurse. How’re we feeling today Captain Rogers?” she asked.
“I’m… fine…” he answered, the sound of the radio reaching his ears. Something was terribly wrong. Nothing seemed right.
“Where am I?” he asked.
“New York, Captain. This is the VA NY Harbor Healthcare System in Brooklyn,” Y/N answered truthfully, not wanting to lie to the confused soldier.
Steve stood up, shaking his head to get rid of the dizziness that suddenly fogged his brain. He cursed to himself, seeing that it had only made it worse, before he slowly limped his way to the door. Just as he was about to swing the door open, he turned to the girl to thank her. Her ever-present smile fell, leaving room for a concerned expression.
“I’m sorry.” He heard her whisper as he opened the door. She didn’t try to stop him.
Steve’s world came crashing down when he learned that the world had gone on for 70 years, leaving him behind to catch up with it. He found Peggy, but unfortunately that last meeting had left his once ablaze world in ashes and smoke. Peggy wasn’t there to light the fire anymore, which left Steve to try and pick up whatever pieces were left of him by himself.
That time was probably the hardest for him. Trying to accommodate to a new century – to new people – all while dealing with the grief of losing his best girl. That period of time, a hell to Steve, was the second time that Y/N had made her way into his life.
Steve was apprehensive at first, not understanding why she wanted to help him deal with all that pain. His mind was plagued by thoughts about Y/N’s ulterior motives. But he slowly and surely came around. Through small actions and kind smiles, Y/N had won him over and he let her help him. She listened to his worries and anger day after day, taking his pain in stride and not allowing him to wallow in self-pity. She brought him with her wherever she would go: grocery shopping, coffee shops, parks. Anywhere Y/N went, Steve was sure to follow. So much, that the Avengers had started calling him a love-sick puppy. But this wasn’t about that, it was about acclimating him to all of the new things that he had to face.
And Y/N loved it. She loved spending time with the kind and careful captain, only to sometimes see a bit of his mischief coming through. But, there was one place that she never wanted him to see, and that was her workplace.
She worked at the hospital, helping hurt soldiers deal with missing limbs or the pain of a ghost limb. Helping older vets calm down after the nightmares and panic attacks they would experience. She wasn’t as much of a nurse as she was a therapist, but she still sometimes worked in intensive care. Only on the days where really bad cases would arrive though, otherwise she would refuse.
Steve had wished to visit, maybe bring a bit of hope to those less fortunate than him. But Y/N was vehement on his ban in the hospital. So, Steve, being the gentleman he was, didn’t force his way into what he assumed was a more private part of her life.
They got closer as time passed, their relationship turning into something more than friendship, but it felt less than an actual relationship. Mostly because neither of them wanted to ask the other what it was, in fear of losing each-other.
Then, Bucky appeared out of nowhere. A ghost of Steve’s past that caught his attention immediately. It ripped at Steve’s thoughts like a whirlwind, destroying whatever relationship Steve and Y/N had built.
At first she supported him. She agreed with the fact that the Avengers shouldn’t be controlled by the government. She understood the need to help his friend, the one that had been with him since the beginning. That is, until she noticed how hung up on Bucky Steve actually was. He was clinging onto the last piece that connected him to his past, throwing her away without a care.
So, Y/N left him to deal with his own issues, worrying and struggling with keeping her calm during her working hours, only to have him show up at her doorstep the night after everything had gone down.
The knock on her front door grasped her attention immediately, as it was way past the time where it was socially acceptable for someone to show up unannounced at her house. She made her way, warily, to the door, grasping the doorknob and opening it a crack, to be faced with two bleeding super soldiers. She opened the door fully, helping Steve as they both carried Bucky to her dining room, laying him on the large table that would soon serve as an operating table.
“What happened?” she asked as she watched Steve, frowning slightly at the condition the captain was in.
“Bucky… Bucky was the one that killed Tony’s parents. He went berserk on him. Ripped his arm off,” Steve explained, rubbing a hand over his face. This had all escalated far too quickly, to a point he had never wanted to reach. But it was all too late.
Y/N moved around the table, inspecting the writhing soldier. She took a look at his shoulder, wincing slightly. This is why she never worked in the ER. She hated blood.
“I’ll…” she swallowed drily, trying to get rid of the unnerving feeling in her stomach, “I’ll see what I can do,” she whispered.
Judging by her face, Steve knew it was bad. “Can you… fix him up?” he asked.
“I’ll try…” she sighed, “but I need you to leave the room. I’m gonna need all the space I can get.”
Steve nodded, about to move away when Bucky’s hand reached out and grasped his arm in a way that said ‘Don’t leave.’ The captain looked at him with an inquiring gaze, watching as Bucky winced once again.
“I’m dangerous… I might… hurt her.” Bucky’s body finally fell limp, allowing Steve to move.
“Uhm… I’ll be out there if you need me for… anything,” he said, walking out of the dining room and into the living room.
He glanced around, noticing the big chair that laid in front of the lit fireplace. Warmth and light spread out throughout the room from the spot, the sight somehow reminding him of the girl that was just in the other room, treating the friend he had shoved her aside for.
“Peanut? Is that you?” Steve heard the voice of a man call from the chair next to the fireplace. He couldn’t help but feel that it sounded tired and somehow lost.
Steve walked to the side of the chair, finally able to see the white-haired man that sat in it. He seemed beaten down by the years, but his eyes were just as bright and clear as Y/N’s.
“No, Sir. I’m sorry for the intrusion. My name is Steve, I’m one of Y/N’s friends,” Steve explained, his heart lightly shrinking at the word ‘friend’.
The man’s eyes widened. He looked Steve up and down as if not actually believing what he was seeing. “This must be it. I’m a goner if the dead have come to haunt me even during the day.” The man shook his head, leaving Steve to wonder about his babblings.
Just as Steve was about to ask what he meant, the doors slid open and Y/N walked in, a relieved look on her face. Her breathing was erratic, trying to get herself to calm down, only to make it worse.
“I was able to stop the bleeding and fix the muscular tissue of his shoulder, he won’t feel any pain anymore when he wakes up,” she said, finally looking at Steve before her eyes widened as she saw who he was talking to.
“Peanut? You see him too?” her grandfather asked as she slowly moved in to sit down on the floor between the two men.
“Yes gramps, you remember Steve?” she asked, a hopeful look on her face.
“Remember him? The man saved my life! How could I forget him?”
The man’s words took Steve by surprise, but the look of shock on Y/N’s face was what really did it for him. Her eyes were welling with tears, but her warm smile was ever-present.
“Let’s get you to bed, okay gramps?” She stood up, taking the old man’s hand and helping him on his short trip to his room. Steve heard her say goodnight and in less than a second she was back in front of him.
They both sat in silence, the fire crackling and warming the tired couple. The ticking of the old grandfather clock reached Steve’s ears, seemingly deafening in the profound quiet. It finally became too much, urging Steve to speak up.
“He’s a vet?” he asked.
“Yes…” she sighed, rubbing a hand down her face. She had been expecting these kinds of questions, but she was afraid of what the super soldier would think. “World war two,” she explained.
“He knows me?” Steve seemed surprised by how willingly she was speaking of this, having never actually heard her talk much about her family except for the fact that her mother had left a long time ago. It was weird to Steve, how much he felt like he knew the girl, when in actuality he didn’t know much at all.
“He was in the 107th division. You saved him from the Nazis. He fought by your side,” she answered.
Steve couldn’t believe it. He was so sure that all of his comrades had died long ago. Suddenly, all of Y/N’s kindness started making sense. Steve was feeling more disheartened by every moment that passed, believing that she was just paying back her grandfather’s dues.
“His mind is in shambles. He couldn’t remember his own daughter…” she sighed, watching the flames dance in front of her. “It was too much for my mother, seeing her father not recognizing her. That’s when she… left.”
“She left you here? What kind of mother does that?” Steve seemed peeved, in the least, about the sudden turn this conversation had taken. He couldn’t believe someone would willingly leave such a wonderful person behind.
“Well… she was never around much. I think I reminded her of my father, that’s why she couldn’t look at me.” Her head fell on her knees, and Steve could’ve sworn he heard something along the lines of ‘Or I just scared her.’ coming from her lips in a quiet murmur.
“I’m sorry… I…” Steve couldn’t find the words to explain what he felt. There she was, questioning and doubting her worth, and he couldn’t do anything about it.
“It’s okay. I think I wouldn’t have left even if she had asked me to.” Y/N’s head snapped back up, allowing Steve to see that warmth in her eyes once again. Finally he knew what it was – determination. “I had gramps to take care of… I was okay.”
Steve couldn’t believe it. She seemed to have gone through so much, and yet she seemed so determined and strong-willed – like nothing could break her. “That’s very… nice of you,” he said.
She smiled at him, letting out a huff of air she didn’t know she was holding. “It wasn’t nice. I was just returning the favor. He took care of me when I was small, I take care of him now.” Y/N’s eyes fell to the floor, her face suddenly warm at the thought that Steve thought of her as selfless. “But because I stayed, gramps never forgot me. And he certainly never forgot you,” she laughed, “He kept on talking about you all the time. How brave and kind you were. How you didn’t give up on some measly soldiers even when the rest of the world left them for dead,” she said.
Steve looked into her eyes, slowly starting to understand that her warmth was something he most definitely needed. They both slowly leaned in. “And what do you think of me?” he asked.
She swallowed drily, her gaze drifting between his eyes and his lips. “I think he was right. Captain America is a kind and righteous man,” she whispered.
They were inches away. Steve could barely feel her erratic breath fanning down his face. “And what about Steve?” he asked.
“Steve…”
A groan from the other room interrupted the two, making Steve and Y/N jump away from each-other.
His hand found the back of his head, scratching awkwardly at the scruff. “I’m.. I’m honored to have him talk about me in such a way…” His voice was a few octaves higher, making Steve wince at his awkwardness. “Please tell him that.”
Y/N nodded, following as Steve walked out of the room to find his friend sitting on her table.
Steve’s eyes widened when he noticed Bucky’s shoulder, the tissue healed and skin covering the once bloody mess, looking like a normally amputated limb. He knew that Bucky had his own set of healing abilities, but this was too much, even for the super soldier serum.
“How?” Steve couldn’t form the sentence, astonished.
“I’ve got some tricks up my sleeve,” Y/N smirked, “I wasn’t appointed as Captain America’s nurse for nothing.” She winked.
The next morning she woke up to both super soldiers gone. She huffed, shaking her head. Not a single message. No thank you or goodbye. She should’ve known, maybe then she wouldn’t have been as disappointed.
Steve walked around the Wakandan palace, his head down and hair muddy. His mind couldn’t comprehend that they had lost. The Avengers, earth’s mightiest protectors, and they had failed to do the one thing they were supposed to.
He had lost Bucky, and he could deal with that in his own time because he knew. He had seen it with his own eyes. He knew they had to fix all of this somehow, but his mind was focused one something else, or rather someone else.
He couldn’t imagine that she would be okay. He couldn’t imagine that out of every one that got spared, she could be one of them. She wasn’t one of the strongest, even though he knew she had the strongest heart. Or maybe he just didn’t want to get his hopes up.
His vision became blurry, the doors and windows in the grand hall becoming blobs and splotches of brown and white. He should’ve stayed with her. He could’ve protected her. He knew she would’ve allowed him to. And maybe with a bit of persuasion she would’ve even allowed Bucky to stay. But no, he had to be a jackass and let the one person who cared about him when he was down alone. He could almost imagine it, the look on her face when she discovered that he failed her. The horror. The dread.
But no. Y/N wouldn’t be scared. She probably stood by her grandfather’s side with that warm smile on her face and the determination in her eyes. She probably still trusted him even in her last moment. She trusted him to fix it.
Steve shook his head, trying to rid himself of that image as his hands came up and rubbed at his eyes. He had finally reached his room, slamming the door closed behind him and hanging his head on it. Once again, much like the first time he had been taken off the ice, he felt alone. Once again he was mourning the death of his best girl.
“Steve?” he heard her call. “Steve…” Y/N whispered.
He turned around and there she stood. He couldn’t believe it, but she was there. He was almost scared to speak, thinking that if this was some kind of elaborate trick his mind was playing on him, he didn’t want to disturb it.
“God Steve, you’re a mess,” she said, her steps quickly taking her to him. She was still angry that he had left her, but now she thought that might’ve been for the best. Maybe he was needed here, and now she was needed here as well. “Let me fix you up,” she said, grasping his hand in hers.
Steve didn’t move as she tried to tug him to his bed. He simply stared at their intertwined hands, not realizing how this could be happening. “How?” he asked.
“I’ve got a few tricks up my sleeve.” She smirked, finally pulling him out of his stupor and to the bed.
They were both silent as her eyes roamed his body for any kinds of injuries, her hands following and healing them almost instantly. He watched her work like he had never seen her before, like this was the first and last time he would get to watch her. Like she would disappear as soon as her job was done, just like he had a year prior. He hissed as her hand touched a particularly large gash on his abdomen, before he watched the skin start to repair itself, the blood simply disappearing.
“I’m sorry,” she said, looking up to him with a frown.
Steve shook his head, biting on his lower lip to keep himself from wincing again. “I’m the one that should be sorry,” he whispered, low enough that he thought she wouldn’t have been able to hear it, but obviously that wasn’t the case as her eyes snapped up to look into his.
“Whatever for, Steve?” she asked.
He shook his head. “I just… I shouldn’t have left how I did…” he sighed, “I just… couldn’t bring myself to say goodbye, even though I knew I had to leave or else me and Bucky would both be caught.”
She smiled up at him, but he noticed it wasn’t the same warm smile he was used to. This one was broken and almost tearful. “It’s okay,” she said.
“No, it’s not. You helped me… you helped us. And I could never repay you. I just disappeared without as much as a thank you, not thinking about how it would affect you. I was just thinking of my own sorry ass and the pain I would have to go through if I said goodbye. I’m sorry.” He finished his monologue, finally taking a deep breath.
“It’s okay,” she said once again.
Steve’s eyes widened. Once again she was understanding, helpful, caring, and he was nothing but an asshole to her. He hated himself for it. “No, it’s not. When…. after I saw Bucky die… I could only think about the last time we met. About how I just went away and left you probably wondering why. I just thought about how I would never get to say goodbye if… if you…” Gasps were leaving his lips, tears slowly forming in his eyes once again.
“Why did you think about that?” she asked, moving away from him slightly as she had finished healing him. “Why would you even care about something like that?”
“Because you… because…” His gaze wandered down from her own, to her lips which were nearing his own. Their lips finally met, shortly, softly, a whisper of a promise about what was to come.
“I love you, Steve,” she said and he finally understood. Maybe this had been the plan all along. Maybe this was where he was supposed to be. “We’ll fix this. Don’t you worry.” Sure, Y/N didn’t have Peggy’s spark, but she had something so much better – her warmth.
Yes, Steve thought, we will fix this. Y/N wasn’t a spark waiting for someone to come help her light a fire. She was her very own flame, bright and warm and radiant. “I love you too, darling.”

i love your fics so much!! i was wondering if i could get something where the reader calls steve a boomer or something along those lines:)
My mental state is not the best right now so I’m sorry that it took so long and sorry that it’s short. This has been on my drafts for a while. But I hope you enjoy!
—
“Stop..” Steve growled, keeping his attention on the tv. A few seconds later, he feels another popcorn kernel hit his head and he turns to look at you with an annoyed glare. “I said stop.” He ground out. Peter chuckled, deciding to quickly stop his antics. But you on the other hand, just had to push it further.
“Geez. Okay we’ll stop. No need to be a boomer.” You said, mumbling out the last part. Peter silently gasped and tried not to chuckle. But when Steve quickly turned to loook at you with both eyebrows raised, you knew you were screwed.
“What’d you call me?” He asked, slowly getting up from the couch and walking towards your and Peter’s place on the rug.
You instantly tensed up and got nervous. “Nothing. I didn’t say anything. I said we’ll stop. Right Pete?” You glanced at your friend for support but all you got was him using his hand to cover the side of his face, avoiding your gaze. “Peter!” You whined.
“So, if you really think I’m a boomer, would a boomer do this?” He smirked, quickly grabbing your legs and lifting you up from the ground, leaving you hanging upside down and propping you on the couch, ignoring your protests.
“Nononono wahait! I didn’t mean it! Steve wait! Don’t-” You pleaded but you were quickly cut off as his fingers found their way to your sides, squeezing mercilessly. “BAHA! STEVE!” You laughed, grabbing at his hands. Steve only smiled and moved one hand to scratch at your worst spot: your ribs. You arched your back and screamed before melting into hysterics. “NAHAHAHA!”
Peter smiled at your giggly state and kinda felt bad that he didn’t help you. But the though of Steve coming after him next made a shiver run down his spine and that was enough to keep him at bay.
“AHAHAH IHIHIM SOHOHORRY!” You cackled when Steve lifted your shirt and blew a very ticklish raspberry above your belly button. Steve chuckled and grabbed at your hips, using his thumbs to dig into the bones.
You convulsed on the couch and started to shake your head frantically. “Sorry for what?” He smirked, finding purchase on your belly button again.
“FOR- FOR-AHAHAHA! I CAHAHANT!” You wheezed. Tears were forming in your eyes and you couldn’t think very straight anymore.
Steve took notice of that and decided to take it easier in you and switched to scratching lightly at your exposed sides. You burst out into hysterical giggles and shook your head. The feeling was unbearable but at least it was easier to breathe. “You were saying?” He teased.
“Ihihihim sohohorry for cahahahalling you a boomeheher!!” You hiccuped, panting harshly when he pulled his hands away.
“Alright. I forgive you. I assume you’ve learned your lesson, right?” He smiled, raising a brow at you. You nodded fully, with a wide smile on your face. Steve chuckled and got off of you, taking his seat next to you on the couch.
Once you caught your breath, you sat up a bit and grabbed hold of a pillow before chucking it at Peter, who was now turned towards the tv. “Ow! What was that f-” He started.
“You know exactly what that’s for!” You said accusingly. Peter then smiled cheekily and scooter closer to you, reaching up from the ground and patting your cheek.
“Sorry for not helping you.” He chuckled. “Just didn’t wanna be next.” You rolled your eyes but nonetheless sat back on the couch.
“Some hero you are.” You sighed.

Every Rose Has Its Thorn part 8
Summary: Things come to an exploding head as the whole team argues
Pairing: Steve x OC
Warnings: language, some violence, slow burn
Word Count: 1144
Apparently my glare wasn’t enough to deter Fury from lying. He moved closer to us. “Rogers, we gathered everything related to the Tesseract. This does not mean that we-”
“Yeah I have a hard time believing that. You gave me access to keep me from asking questions because you wanted me to trust you. And I did, but you’ve broken that trust.” I crossed my arms and stared him down.
Tony nodded. “I’m sorry Nick, but I’m on her side.” He spun a screen around to show something that looked like a missile schematic. “What? Were you lying?”
I shook my head. “Of all the things. I looked at you like a father. I trusted and looked up to you. To Maria. And all this time you’ve been lying to me. Makes me wonder what you know about me that you haven’t told me.”
Since the moment he had sent me to recruit Steve something seemed off. Now I knew something was. He knew something about me and my connection to the super soldier and he wasn’t saying a word. It infuriated me and the betrayal I had felt when we found the weapons was even stronger now.
Steve gently touched my arm in a comforting manner and glared at Fury. “I was wrong director. The world hasn’t changed a bit.”
I tried to smile, but it fell the moment Natasha walked in with Thor. She was someone else I had trusted. I wondered if she knew about Phase two and had kept me in the dark as well.
“Did you know about this?” Bruce asked the same question I had been seconds away from asking myself.
“You want to think about removing yourself from this environment doctor?” Natasha answered his question with one of her own. It was a deflection; one to keep her from having to tell the truth.
I knew what she was doing, I had seen her do it many times. She kept the attention on others instead of herself and what she was up to. Her blatant disregard for Bruce’s question told me all I needed to know. She knew about Phase Two and had also kept me in the dark. Was there anyone I could actually trust? Was there anyone that hadn’t lied to me? I was beginning to think the pseudo family I had was all a lie. Once again I was lost and alone.
I felt like I was drowning in a pool of darkness. A pool built of lies, betrayal, and pain. I tried to claw my way out, but I was drowning. My ears were ringing and I had blocked out everything going on around me. My breathing started to pick up and it felt like my chest was way too tight. My hands were shaking and my heart was racing.
A strong hand on my shoulder slightly grounded me. I looked up into Steve’s eyes and tried to breath with him. He placed my hand on his chest and let me feel his breathing to help regulate my own.
“Are you okay now?” He asked softly.
I nodded. “Yeah. Just a moment of anxiety. I’m not handling what Fury and company did very well. I’m gonna sit down.” I made my way to the corner of the room and took a seat. Closing my eyes I listened to the argument resume itself. Apparently my panic attack wasn’t enough to dissipate the anger everyone was feeling.
As soon as I was out of the way everyone was back at each other’s throats.
Bruce moved one of the screens and pointed at it with his glasses, but his eyes were on the people in the room. “I want to know why SHIELD is using the Tesseract to build weapons of mass destruction.”
“You and me both big guy,” I whispered and fixed Fury with a pointed stare.
“Because of him,” Fury pointed at Thor.
I raised a brow, looking just as confused as the God of Thunder. The guy was a giant puppy really. Sure he could easily kick someone’s ass, but he was as sweet and soft as they come. I had seen how curious he was about things here on earth. So what did he have to do with building weapons?
“Me?” Thor asked softly.
Fury took a few steps and began talking about what happened in New Mexico last year when Thor was here. I rolled my eyes and laid back on one of the tables. I didn’t feel like listening to anymore of his nonsense. Just because aliens were a thing and could easily come to earth didn’t mean we needed to use alien technology to build weapons.
The damn thing was probably a beacon! It had brought Loki to earth. If other ‘gods’ or space inhabitants knew of its existence and location, then using the cube was asking for trouble. I would have told Fury that if he had bothered to even ask me. But nope! I was left out of the loop and now we had a murdering psychopath on our hands, the cube was who knows where, and everyone was arguing.
I decided I was going to block it out and wait for them to stop measuring their cocks like teenage frat boys. All except Natasha who didn’t have a cock. She, however, was still part of the pointless fighting that was going on. And I was one girl that wasn’t going to take part. In fact I was happily daydreaming about swimming in a hot spring with all sorts of flowers, bushes, and trees surrounding it. It was my happy place, the one place that I could go to when everything got to be too much.
It wasn’t until a nearby computer started making a lot of noise that I finally tuned back in. I rolled on my side and looked to see what was going on.
“Sorry kids you don’t get to see my party trick after all.” Bruce walked over to the computer that was showing the cube’s location.
“You’ve located the Tesseract,” Thor said.
I jumped up and stretched. It seemed like it was time for us to get to work.
“I can get there faster,” Tony pointed out like that was the most important thing.
I rolled my eyes and looked up at Thor as he began to speak. “The Tesseract belongs on Asgard. No human is a match for it.”
I hummed softly. He did have a point. One I completely agreed with. I opened my mouth to say something when the lab exploded and I went flying. I hit my head and landed in a heap as the world turned black.

Late comfort
Summary: The one where you are upset and lonely and Steve feels guilty.
Pairing: Steve Rogers x female reader
Warnings: Lonelieness, sadness, mention of injury, crying, self loathing (angst? Sad Steve?)
Words: 2.738
A/N: Deontology is a moral that follows the principle of rules. They are set up and you follow them in any case. Utilitarism is a moral that follows the principle of making the biggest amount of people as happy as possible. There are no other rules. (They will be mentioned later on.)
Y/N was Steves angel. He knew that he could be a handful. In fact, he didn´t know when he was not making things more complicated than they already were. Wherever he showed up, people seemed to get into trouble, they seemed to get hurt, things just tended to fall apart.
But she was there and she put up with him and all the trouble he was causing. She was there through all of it: His tantrums, his nightmares, his panic attacks, his injuries, his arguments with other Avengers. She never asked him to change. She just wanted to make him happier. She wanted him to wake up and come home to love. He often wondered how someone could be like that. So kind and loving, caring and giving. She had her bad days, of course. Days where she wouldn´t listen to anybody. Where she would be annoyed by the mere present of someone else. Days where she took her anger out on others, even though she tried not to. Days where you wouldn´t want to be around her. But he didn´t care. The day he realised that he loved her he vowed to himself that he would love her through all of it the way she loved him. That he would take care of her, that he would help her through the bad days, that he would not only take and take and take the good out of her.
But he felt like that was exactly what he was doing and if he would´ve asked someone else, they probably would have told him yes. It wasn´t on purpose, it really wasn´t. But he had been so caught up in his job that he didn´t even notice it at first.
He didn´t notice the circles under her eyes. He didn´t notice that she slept more than usual when he was home for a few days. He didn´t notice that she clung more onto him than before. He didn´t notice that she talked less.
And when he finally did notice, he couldn´t change anything. He knew that it wore her out when he went on so many missions. He knew that she was lying awake at night worrying about him. That she could not find peace without knowing that he had it too. And he felt bad. He really did. He didn´t want to make her feel bad. But in the end he would go on even more missions, knowing - hoping - that she would understand.
Not once would she complain.Whenever he would go on a mission she would simply give him a sad smile, kiss him and ask him to stay save. And whenever he would come back from a mission, she would greet him with the same sad smile she had kissed him goodbye with yet her eyes seemed duller every time. He knew that he was the cause oft hat, that they were the result of sleepless nights, nightmares, worry but also love. As much as he hated seeing her in such a tired state he couldn´t help but feel his broken heart swell every time he came home to her like that.
Even though it broke his heart to know that he was the cause of her discomfort it made him somehow proud to know that she loved him enough to stay. She would welcome him with open arms and practically beg him to let her clean him up every time. Pride filled his heart every time she would put him first, even though he knew that it was wrong. It made him feel safe to have someone who thought that he was the most important person in the world. The happiness she gave to him could be too much at times, the love too much to be contained in his body. So he tried to hold her tighter at night, to let his body melt into her, to live in her. He didn´ t want to be seperated from her anymore. The need to hold her, to love her, to keep her save pushed into the centre of his mind. Everything else seemed to be unimportant, being with her like a primal, vital need of his.
And yet here he was, on another week-long mission keeping them seperated. The only thing he wanted was to go home and hold her close. Missing her almost outweighted the need to save the world by now. But what was even more important to him was that he had noticed: The way her hands trembeled, the way her smile was even more tired now, the way she clawed at him, the way she would not tell him what happened when he was not there.
It was obvious that something was wrong but apparently she did not want to talk about it and Steve was not sure he knew why that was. She always had troubles speaking up about things that bothered and dragged her down but she would always do it anyway, not wanting to have any secrets from him. When he would go on missions though she would always wait a few days before telling him. When it first happened he wondered why she would do that, he could clearly tell that she wasn´t feeling well, so why would she not tell him?
Not knowing what made her sad and why he was not allowed to help her left a taste of guilt in his mouth when he kissed her goodbye before his last mission. He buried it deep in the pit of his stomach, knowing that she wouldn´t want him to be in even more danger from such a distraction. But it wouldn´t go away. He knew that what he was doing was wrong, he knew that he should be home with her. Wasn´t he supposed to take care of her? Isn´t that what lovers do? Thoughts like that haunted his mind during the day. But nights were almost worse. The usual nightmares that he occasionally had were now replaced by cruel images of her crying, being hurt without Steve to hold and comfort her like he wanted, needed to. He spend the way home hoping and praying to whatever god he could think of that this would not turn into reality. He wasn´t sure if he could stand coming back to such a sight knowing that he had not been there to help.
After arriving back at the complex earlier than planned he wanted nothing more than to make his way to her and make sure his nightmares did not become reality. Before he could even make it into the building he was stopped by Bruce.
´´Hey, uh, Steve.. how was the mission?´´
Suspiciously eying him, already knowing something was wrong he answered ´´Good. Nothing extraordinary.´´
´´Yeah, yeah right.. And.. are you injured? Like, badly?´´
´´Bruce, what is it?´´ He knew something was going on. Bruce might as well tell him right now instead of pretending to care about the mission.
Scratching the back of his head bruce avoided Steve´s eyes. ´´Well the thing is.. the thing is just.. Y/N has just been a little.. a litlle off these past days.. weeks. You know? I´m just saying. You should probably have an eye on her. And not go on every mission. You know, we can, like, cover you. Just saying. She misses you. She really does.´´
Steve tried swallowing the lump in his throat and the recurrent taste of guilt in his mouth. He wanted to answer Bruce but he couldn´t think of anything. The only thought that circulated in his mind was making sure she was going to be better.
He pushed past Bruce and hesitantly made his way to their shared bedroom, his heart hammering in his chest. Still hoping that he wouldn´t be greeted by red eyes and stained cheekes he slolwy opened the door. As he stepped into the room he couldn´t see anyone but he did see a little light coming from under the bathroom door. He stilled his movements for a second in fear of hearing sobs or whimpers. But when he did not hear anything but footsteps and the closing of a cupboard he let out a breath he didn´t notice he was holding and closed the bedroom door behind him.
´´Baby?´´ he called out. ´´You okay in there?´´
The bathroomdoor opened a little and a head appeared. A tired smile and dark circles plastered on her face she almost whispered:´´I thought you weren´t coming back until next week or so.´´
He was sure that his smile seemed at least as tired and sad as hers did when he smiled back at her. He could hear the exhaustion in her almost slurred voice and he knew that she had not been sleeping well. He didn´t want to smile knowing that he indirectly put her into this state but he also knew that she wanted him to be okay. Hopefully shewouldn´t notice the lie behind his smile in her exhaustion.
´´You´re hurt.´´ Worry appeared on her face as she slowly padded over to him, trying not to stumble over her own feet. ´´Let me take care of you. Please.´´ The whisper that left her mouth as she ghosted her fingers over the ripped fabric of his suit was full of worry and love, her already being close to crying. He knew this. She wasn´t one to cry over anything and everthing but she did turn into someone like that when she was seriously exhausted.
Carefully but firmly gripping her wrists and kissing her temple he whispered back:´´It´s okay. It´ll heal within the next hours. And there´s no dirt in there. I´ll be fine,´´ he tried to assure her. “What about you? You seem-´´
´´Let me at least clean the wounds.´´
Steve couldn´t help but sigh. He was aupposed to take care of her, not the other way around. But he could tell that if he would not let her help him she would probably start crying, tears had already gathered in her eyes and he didn´t want to put even more stress and pressure onto her. Giving in he slowly took off his suit as she padded back to the bathroom and wet a cloth. When he reached the bathroom in just his underwear shortly after her she motioned for him to sit on the tub edge. Slowly and carefully she cleaned his little injuries, making sure not to hurt him. None spoke a word, both knowing that Steve would ask her what was going on when she was finished. Neither wanted to have this conversation but the both knew that it was necessary.
After she was finished cleaning his injuries she softly kissed him. He couldn´t quiet decide whether he like it or not. He felt so close to her but he also felt like she was going to break anytime, if he only kissed her just a ltlle bit harder.
She slowly pulled back, her hands still on his neck, eyes closed. He rubbed his thumb over her thigh, savouring this moment of peace a little bit longer. When she opened her eyes ever so slowly she was met with a loving, caring gaze. She seemed to have calmed down a little, nearly no tears swam in her eyes anmore.
Still, he needed to ask.
´´Bruce told me you´ve been a little off these past days,´´ he whispered as he brushed his thumb over her cheekbone. ´´D´ you wanna tell me what´s been going on?´´
Her gaze shifted from his face tot he floor. ``I was just really stressed,´´ she murmured. ``And.. I really, really missed you.´´ A silent tear slipped down her cheek and in that moment Steve promised himself and every god that there might be that if she would ask him to stop the missions he would. He would give up everything, anything to stop her pain.
``You were away so often these past weeks, I barely saw you,´´ her voice was so quiet that a normal person probably would not have been able to distingush the words that left her mouth. The urge to ram his head or his fist into a wall grew from moment to moment. He knew that him going on so many missions would hurt her and yet he did it. He didn´t understand himself anymore. Saving and protecting the world should be more important to him than the safety and the feelings of one individual.
But he remembered how Y/N expained to him that he should not have an utilitarian moral but a deontological one. Without certain obligations our world would end in anarchy. He loved it when she would explain things like that to him. She was so soft yet her opinions were the strongest and most convincing ones he´d heard in a long time. It made him want to protect her even more.
´´I´m so sorry, doll. I´m so sorry,´´ his voice cracke das he wanted to whisper those words over and over again until everything was fine again.
She liftet her gaze again and forced another tired, brave smile onto her face. ´´But you´re back now. It´s okay.”
´´No!´´ She flinched a little at his sudden exlamaition. ´´It´s not okay and we both know it,´´ he instantly lowered his voice not to scare her even more. ´´I´m not there for you. I always leave you alone and when you need me I´m not there, I´m always on some dumb fucking mission, you need and you deserve someone who is there for you and I want to be that someone. Really, I do! And I know that I was nowhere near being good enough for you these past weeks but I will. I can give this up. Just say it, tell me you want me to get another job and I´ll do it. I can see that this is hurting you. And it´s hurting me too. I know that you don´t want to tell me what to do but you can. I won´t mind. I want to make you happy. And if you can´t be happy like this I´ll give it up, I will! Just tell me what you want. Tell me and I´ll do it, I´d do anything to make you feel better. I don´t want to lose you.´´
They were both crying, almost sobbing by the end of his monologue, both trying to comfort each other by softly running their hands across the face, neck and shoulders of the other one.
´´Your not gonna lose me,´´ Y/N almost whimpered into Steve´s hair. ´´I just.. I miss you so much. I just want to hold you. I don´t want to constantly wonder if you´ll come back to me alive. I don´t want you to give this up. You need this. You couldn´t be happy knowing so many bad things are happening and you are not doing anything against it. And I want you to be happy too.´´ She caressed his cheekbone. “But I want you to be happy with me.”
An involuntary sob left him. He was reliefed but at the same time he still felt like he was not doing enough. Like it was never going to be enough. His sobbing continued uncontrollably as he warpped his arms around her frame and pulled her close, burrying his face in her stomach. She softly stroked his hair and whispered sweet nothings until he calmed down.
´´Let´s go to bed,´´ he sniffed. ´´Let me hold you. Tell me what´s been stressing you out. I wanna help you. Please.´´
Getting up, he placed soft kisses on her cheeks, nose and forehead.
´´Let me make up for the time I wasn´t there.´´ Everything she could muster at that moment was a nod a little sniff. Without thinking about it twice he picked her up and slowly carried her to their bed where he carefully placed her before climbing on top of her and kissing her ever so lovingly. She instantly wrapped her arms around his shoulders, pulling him closer. She had started crying again, her tears mixing into the kiss neither oft hem was willing to break.
Steve held her that night, comforting her as well as he possibly could, telling her he loved her whenever he could. He was certain that even though she had told him otherwise she would leave him someday. He wanted to savour every moment he could spend with her, he wanted to make her as happy as he could.

WIP Wednesday
thanks @noire-pandora @kittynomsdeplume @raflesia65 @starsandskies and @zuendwinkel for WIP Wednesday/whenever. Since finishing IWD my Aeon fic has been priority one. Recently replayed Re4--and also got the teaser for the remake while I was as kind of a happy coincidence. So ofc I had to throw in some of that
“Like to be a Kennedy though,” she admits. “I always loved Jackie.”
“And me?”
It’s a whisper. It’s a prayer. “More than you,” she answers, knowing later she must repent.
She’s right. When they’re back in their hotel room, Leon finishing brushing his teeth while Ada bathes, he asks what she meant.
She leans back against the cool tub, carelessly throwing one soapy leg over the other. “You’ve always been more than just yourself.”
“You know that’s not true.”
“Is it? Raccoon City. You were more than just the cop that went back and survived. Government sure wouldn’t have snatched you up otherwise. Spain. Who gave Saddler the good old American boot?” She chuckles to herself. “Remember what he said? That it wouldn’t be some ending to a Hollywood movie?”
“I also remember you in that red dress of yours tossing the rocket launcher instead of…I don’t know, using it.”
“We had our separate ways. Wanted you to be the hero is all. Looked damn good too. Gave Captain American a run for his money”
“Well for the record,” he says between laughter. “You looked good too. Still do”
She beckons him forward. “Come here handsome. I’ll wash your back.”
the captain america line made me LOL sorry not sorry Leon > capatin america
tagging anybody who would like to participate!

You awoke slowly, the first sign of consciousness being the ability to feel, slowly descending down your body like honey dripping from a spoon. First it was being made aware of the pounding headache that hid behind your heavy eyelids, then the stiffness in your bad, the muscles taught as if they had been in the same place for quite some time. Last had been the feeling of blood rushing down to your toes as you tried to wiggle them, snuggly tucked under the covers.
As you slowly gained consciousness, your eyelids fluttering open, panic started to surge through your body, memories of the previous night coming back. A hand clamped around your mouth, a prick in your neck, and then nothing. You had no indication of just how long you had been out so what felt like mere minutes ago could’ve been hours, days even, and with the way your back ached you thought it was probably the latter.
You also had no indication of how you had gotten wherever you were now. Throwing the soft covers off of your body, you slipped your feet out onto the cold hardwood floor. With a terror unparalleled, you realised you were no longer wearing the shorts a t-shirt you last remembered donning for work but a simple pale blue slip nightgown that scarcely covered you to your mid thigh. Who had changed you?

The fight (brother!bucky x sister!reader x Steve)
Summary: reader is Bucky’s little sister. Bucky, Steve and reader find themselves in a petty argument, and reader ends up saying something she regrets. @dropyoursocksandgrabyourcrocss
“All I’m saying is, that your super serum was a remake of mine. It’s slightly less stronger than mine. But... what I was saying was that with your arm, it balances out. So if you had 2 human arms, I’d be stronger.” You heard Steve say for the second time. You sighed and sunk deeper into the couch watching these two bicker like the old me they are.
“No! We’d still be around the same, if not, I’d be stronger. Look at me, Steve. I am a thicc man!” You giggled at your brother’s choice of words. You listened to them fight for a bit longer before you got extremely bored.
“Well, what do you think, y/n?” Your eyes widened as you heard your name being called and you looked up at your brother and Steve.
“Huh?” You whispered.
“Who do think would be stronger. If we both had complete flesh bodies, with our serums, who do you thing would be stronger?” You watched as all eyes were on you. You just wanted the conversation to end so you could go and do something fun.
If I say Steve, Bucky will definitely get me back for it and make me change my mind. But if I say Steve, there’s less chance that he’d get me back, but maybe the next time Bucky’s out to get me, he’ll recall this time and refuse to help me. Sooner or later I’ll be getting it.
“Umm... me.” You concluded, nodding once. You saw them both give you weird looks so you nodded again.
“How?” Bucky asked you. You shrugged your shoulders and repositioned yourself on the couch.
“If we got in a wrestling match, I’d win. Because I always win. Especially with Steve.” Steve scoffedand crossed his arms.
“that’s only because we let you win, y/n.” Steve mumbled.
“Nuh-Uh.” You shook your head with a smile. “I’d be stronger. Because without your serums, I’d be the strongest out of the two of you.” You stuck your head up proudly and nodded. Bucky’s jaw tensed at you and you felt the slightest drop in your stomach but tried to remain in character.
“Really? Well, then I guess you wouldn’t mind if we tested it out on you, huh?” Bucky smirked as he stepped closer to you, Steve trailing close behind, copying his movements.
You curled up and put your legs up in the air, ready to kick your brother if he tried anything. “No. Get away. I mean it. Bucky! I’ll kick you!” Bucky just chuckled, ignoring your threats.
“You asked for this!” He shrugged.
“How did I ask for this???” You yelled. Steve chuckled and came closer.
“You know how competitive we are. You know better than to challenge us.” Bucky laughed before pouncing on you. You, however, were very fast and you were able to roll away from your brother and dodge Steve before running away.
“Hey!” Steve called. “Don’t make us come get you!” Steve quickly helped Bucky off the couch and ran after you.
You hid in the place where you least expected to be found: Bucky’s closet. You tried to steady your breaths. You knew they both could probably hear your heartbeat a mile away. You closed your eyes and calmed yourself down. You heard loud footsteps in the hallway since you left the door the Bucky’s room open to avoid suspicion.
“I’ll check in her room and you check in yours and mine.” You heard a faint voice say. You recognized it a bit to be Bucky. You heard footsteps in Bucky’s room first, so you put your hand over your mouth to stop any noise. You heard him shuffle around looking for you. You were in the closet, sitting down, covered by many clothes. You felt safe. Then you heard the closet door open but you didn’t hear anything else for a while.
Moments of silence passed before you feel a harsh grasp on your leg and you scream. “Gotcha! You’re in for it now, y/n.” Steve laughed. He pulled you out easily and threw you over his shoulder.
“No no no no! Please Steve, please. Let me go, don’t hurt me.” Steve brought you down to face him.
“Hurt you?” He ruffled your hair. “We’re not gonna hurt you, y/n.” He laughed. You crossed your arms and pouted.
“But you and Bucky are gonna kill me.” You groaned. You prayed that he would take pity on you. With Bucky, there was no chance. He doesn’t do mercy. But with Steve, there was a chance. However, those chances quickly evaded to zero when Steve teasingly leaned closer to you with a evil smirk.
“Well then I guess you should’ve chose my side, huh?” Your eyes widened and you squirmed as Steve picked you up again and threw you over his shoulder. “HEY BUCK, I GOT HER!” Steve shouted as he made his way to the couch. A second later, Bucky came and rubbed his hands together.
“Well, you’re definitely in trouble now. Challenging us, and then making us chase you around and look for you?” Bucky chuckled once Steve set you down on the couch. You pulled your legs up again and tried to kick Bucky with full force but he only laughed and pulled your legs back down and straddled you while Steve sat above your head and grabbed your arms.
“Plehehease guys, I’m sorry! You both are the strongest! I was just playing!” You begged.
“Oh, it’s too late for that now.” The both said, finally attacking your worst spots. You were immediately thrown into hysterics and bucked against them as much as you could. Bucky was tasering your thighs and hips, and Steve was lightly scratching at your armpits. It was already too much when Bucky tickled you. Now, being tickled by 2 super soldiers was going to be the cause of your death.
“PLEHEHEHEASE! IM BEHEHEGGING YOUHUHUHU!” You screamed in laughter and tried to pull your arms down to your sides with no avail.
“Mm. Kinda makes you regret challenging us, huh?” Steve teased as he was now scratching harshly at your ribs, making you try to melt into the couch to escape his touch.
“You know, I’m getting kinda hungry Steve,-” he started. You already knew where this is going. He’s done this a hundred times.
“BUHUHUCKY DOHOHONT YOU DAHAHARE!” You squealed.
“-and this little belly is looking quite delicious. It’s good enough to eat!” He continued, ignoring your protests and blowing a big raspberry right above your belly button. You arched your back and let out a giggly scream and squirmed like your life depended on it. “I don’t know why you’re squirming so much, you’re not gettin’ anywhere.” He teased before blowing another raspberry on your right side. You kicked your legs out and cackled.
Steve was fluttering his fingers around your neck and ears, making you scrunch up. “PLEHEHEASE HEHEHELP ME STEHEHEHEVE!” You begged, again hoping he would have mercy on you.
“Eh, I’ll think about it. Nah.” He said, going back to your armpits and blowing a raspberry on your neck. You then dissolved into the couch and layed there, accepting your doom.
“Think you’ve had enough? Or are you ready for another round?” Bucky asked, poking your thighs.
“NOHOHOHO! PLEASE, I GIVE UP! YOU WIN!” You shook your head violently, making Steve and Bucky laugh and let you go.
“I hope you leaned your lesson, y/n.” Steve said, getting off the couch and going to the kitchen to get a drink. You nodded, still panting from the recent attack.
Bucky smiled fondly at you before hovering over you to give you a kiss on the forehead. You were still a bit mad at him so as he was leaning in you blocked him by smacking his face and trying to push him away. “No. Get away.” You groaned. Bucky laughed and tried various times to get closer until he took your hand and kissed your forehead. You whined and hid your blush into the couch.
“I’ll be in the gym if you need me.” Bucky said as he walked away, leaving you to recover.
I am never. Doing that. Again.

Bedtime struggles (Steve x reader)
19: run 21: I’m gonna get youuuu @keencreatorclodplaid I GUESS THE READER IS A CHILD, MAYBE LIKE 6,7
“I don’t wanna go to bed!” You pouted, arms crossed holding your favorite stuffed puppy. Your mother had to go to an emergency meeting in Lagos, so she left you with your uncle Steve. You were excited and always had a lot of fun when he took care of you. It was only when it was time for bed that you weren’t compliant.
“Come on, we’ve watched tons of movies, played with your toys, baked cookies, gave you a bath, you drank warm milk, we’ve done everything you could have ever wanted to do today. I don’t understand how you’re not tired. Now it’s time for bed. Come on.” He urged. He was actually very exhausted himself. Babysitting an energetic 6 year old was tiring both mentally and physically. Of course, he didn’t mind taking care of you. He was always rather exited when you came over.
You whined and shook your head dramatically, stomping your foot. “I! Don’t! Wanna! Go! To! Bed!” Steve sighed and picked you up, ignoring your protests and brought you to the guest room where you stayed. As soon as Steve set you down on the bed, you hopped off it and poured at Steve from the other side of the bed.
“Y/n, come on. How are you not tired?!” Now it was Steve’s turn to whine. When you only shrugged, he started to wonder why you weren’t tired like you usually were. Then he recalled all the things you both did and it finally hit him.
He never exercised you.
He sighed, as he was too tired to take you to the park or anything. He really wanted to go to bed himself. “Look, if we go to bed now, we’ll go to the park and get some exercise tomorrow okay?” He tried to reason with you, but your weren’t having any of it. You wanted to play now.
Your eyebrows furrowed and you threw your stuffed toy at Steve’s face, along with a “NO!” Steve gasped lightly when the toy hit his face and his eyebrows furrowed before he paused and smirked.
Maybe he could tire you out tonight.
He leaned down to your level and smirked evily at you. “Run.” Your eyes widened slightly when you realized you were in trouble and you held in a nervous giggle as you ran away as fast as you could. A few seconds later, you felt Steve running up close behind you. You squealed and ran around the house, taking as many confusing turns as you could but none of them were enough for Steve to lose track of you. “I’m gonna get youuuu!” He sang, purposely poking your sides as you ran before pretending to lose grip on you.
You squealed in excitement yet fear, running around for a while, eventually feeling more and more tired. Because of your decreasing energy, you started to run slower and slower until you felt strong hands pick you up from the ground, making you scream and wiggle around as much as you could. Steve pulled you close to him as he chuckled, quickly scratching at your ribs and sides, eliciting a stream of laughter from you.
You kicked out, hoping to escape his grasp, but he had a tight grip on you. “We’ll just continue this for a while until you admit you’re tired. No big deal.” Steve shrugged, grinning evily at your desperate pleas for mercy.
“Steheheheve! Nohohohoho! It tihihihickles!” You laughed, shaking your head as he blew a raspberry on your neck.
“Oh, it does? I would never have guessed! And does this-” he wiggled his finger in your belly button and dug in your armpit with the other hand. “-tickle?”
You screeched and fell limp on him, falling into silent laughter before Steve finally had mercy on you and let you breathe.
“Do you have anything you want to say?” He asked you after kissing your forehead. You panted and waited until you caught your breath to answer him.
“I’m tired.” You said groggily. Steve smiled and nodded, picking you up and taking you to your room again.
“Good. Now we can all get our rest and be ready for tomorrow. I love you.” He said? Kissing your temple before walking out of the room.
“Love you too, uncle Steve.” You smiled, now happy to go to bed.

hey, i don’t really know how this works. but could i have a fic where the reader being super cheeky and messing with steve (her older brother) and bucky and there’s just a lotta platonic sibling fluff?
Sure!
"But what if you could get a date?" You asked your older brother, Steve. You had been bugging him all day now, and you could tell he was done with you about 2 hours ago.
"Y/n, for the 5th time, I can't go on a date. I'm too busy!" You brother responded. You sighed dramatically and spun around in your chair.
"But, what if you cou-" Now it was Bucky's then to sigh.
"Y/n, enough. You've asked that question more times than necessary." You groaned at him and stood up.
"Sorry, I'm just... I'm so bored and you guys are always busy." Steve wouldn't admit it, but he felt kind of bad for you. It was true, they were always busy and didn't spend much time with you.
"If you're bored, go watch a movie." You groaned at his suggestion. You didn't wanna watch another movie.
"No.. not another one. I just wanna play with you guys." You sunk lower in your chair.
Steve smirked as an idea popped into his head. He turned to look at your restless face and got up from his place on the couch. "So...you wanna play?" You nodded, not knowing what was coming. Steve nodded in understanding. "We can play." He said, shooting a knowing look at Bucky, him instantly catching on to his plan.
You were still clueless as to what you guys were gonna play until Steve grabbed you out of the chair and dropped you on the couch. Bucky grabbed your wrists with one hand and they both smiled down at you.
"Ah, guys what are you doing?" You asked while squirming around. You had a faint idea of what they were gonna do, but you weren't entirely sure.
"Playing with you." Those were the last words that were said before Steve lightly scratched at your belly, making you fall into a fit of hysterical giggles.
"Nahahaha! Thahahat not whahat I meheheheant!" You tried to get your hands free, but Bucky had a firm grip on your wrists. Bucky started grazing one finger on your right armpit and you kicked your legs out, squealing. "GAH! NOHOHO!" Steve dug into your ribs, counting then out loud.
"We gotta count your ribs. One, two, four, oh wait I meant three. Wait, let's start over. One, two, three, five. Ugh, let me start over." This continued on until you were in tears.
"STAHAHAP STEHEHEVE!" Bucky switched to scrat h at your left armpit and you screamed. "BUHUHUCKY! PLEHEHEASE!"
"What's wrong, y/n? I thought you were bored." Steve asked.
"I bet this is more fun than annoying us to death, huh?" Bucky asked, now wiggling his finger in your belly button, making you arch your back.
"NOHOHOHO! IHIHITS NOHOHOT!" Steve chuckled at you and lifted your shirt, revealing your belly.
"Aww, what a cute little belly!" He teased before blowing a slobbery raspberry on your belly.
"AHHHH!" You screamed and kicked as much as you could. "IHIHIM SOHOHOHORRY!" Bucky smiled at you and nodded at Steve to let you go. You curled up on the couch and greedily sucked in air.
Steve tucked away a strand of hair behind your ear before pulling you into a hug.
"We're sorry we haven't been spending enough time with you, we've been so busy lately, but that shouldn't be an excuse to deny you attention." He kissed your forehead and Bucky ran his thumb across your palm. "From now on, we promise well spend more time with you. And on Saturdays, we'll have the entire day to do just what you want to do."
You smiled widely. "Anything?" They both nodded.
"Anything."

Dinner (bucky!brother x reader x steve)
Request: reader is Bucky's sister and dating Steve. Reader gets upset and the boys cheer her up.
@kikiargent
"Where are They?" You mumbled to yourself. Dinner was getting cold and you had planned a whole evening game night for your brother, Bucky and your boyfriend, Steve. The only problem was that they were nowhere to be found.
That was until you heard faint laughter outside your house.
You went out the back door to the backyard only to see your boys drenched in the pool, laughing and splashing about like little kids. Now, you weren't criticizing; you knew if the time was appropriate, you'd be in there too. But today was not the day, especially not at this time!
"What are you boys doing?" You yelled in surprise and annoyance as you stepped closer to the pool.
"We're just having some fun y/n/n." Bucky smiled up at you. You looked away in annoyance. You didn't see it, but. Bucky and Steve exchanged mischevious looks before Bucky jumps up, pulling you down in the pool as well.
You scream in surprise as you fall in. When you get to the surface, loud obnoxious laughter fills your eyes. You wipe your eyes and look at the boys. "Look what you did! Why would you do that? I planned this whole afternoon for you guys, and instead of confirming to it, you decide that your time is better spent on the pool. And not even that! You decided to bring me into this too! Now, I'm all wet and have to take a shower to wash off all the chlorine, wait to dry, and then re-warm the dinner and by then, it'll be too late to do anything else!" You ranted. You shook your head angrily and started to get out of the pool.
"Umm. This is a saltwater pool." Bucky quickly apologized when he received a very angry glare from you.
You got out the shower and wrapped a towel over your hair. You got dressed and left to warm up the food. Bucky and Steve didn't bother showering and just decided to rinse themselves off outside with the water hose. They quickly dried off and went inside. By then, the dinner was ready again and they both sat down on the island to watch you serve the plates.
You served Bucky, Steve, and took your plate to eat in your room. Bucky was going to say something but Steve stopped him. "Give her a minute." He whispered.
You were almost done eating when Bucky went in your room. You sighed and closed your eyes. "Go away, leave me alone, buck." You rested your head in your hand. Bucky took a seat next to you. A minute later, Steve came in and sat on the other side, next to you.
"We're really sorry y/n/n. We lost track of time. We won't do it again, we promise." Steve offered. You stayed silent. You didn't really feel angry about it anymore. It was just one of those days when you just wanted to feel sad, if that made sense. You wanted to, but at the same time you wanted to do something to loft your spirits. That's why you planned the afternoon. But now, it was ruined.
"We really are sorry, muffin." Bucky ribbed your back affectionately. When you didn't answer, he shot Steve another mischevious look. "Hey," he started. "Remember what I used to do when you were upset?" He asked
Your eyes widened slightly but you hoped he didn't notice. "No." You responded dryly. You actually did, but you weren't feeling like getting messed with today.
"No? That's okay, I'll show you! Everybody needs a reminder here and there." Bucky mused nonchalantly. He went for your side and you leaned into Steve for protection. When you turned around to look at him, the smirk he had told you you wouldn't be getting any.
"C-can't we talk about this?" You stuttered. Steve chuckled evily behind you.
"Oh, now you wanna talk." He held you in place while Bucky immediately dived into your sides, eliciting a string of squeaky giggles. This was not fair; being pinned down by a man with enhancement while being tickled to death by another enhanced man when you were the only feeble one there was so unfair!
Bucky then moved down to your hips while Steve drilled into your hips while still pinning you down. You threw your head back and squealed. "GUHUHUYS! QUIHIHIT IHIHIT!" They ignored your protests and dig into your armpits and massaged your thighs, and you instantly melted into the floor. Your hard belly laughter was turned to hysterical giggles and then to complete silence. After a few seconds, all the boys could hear were small, cute hiccups coming from you.
"Aww, she's so cute!" Steve mused. He leaned down and kissed your nose and nuzzled his face into your neck. What he did brought your giggles back to life for a few more seconds before the boys letting you go.
You sat up and regained your breath and held your stomach. The two of them were looking at you with apologetic eyes.
"We're sorry about tonight. We'll make it up to you. Tomorrow, well have the whole day to do whatever you want. Deal?" Steve asked and held his hand out. You th ought for a second before shaking it and agreeing.
"Deal."
