if i see one more overly pessimistic fallout take thats like "war never changes which means that war is always inevitable and humanity is always doomed to destroy itself no matter what" i am going to fucking lose it and start beaming ulysses's "war never changes, men do" into every fallout fan's head 24/7 forever until the heat death of the universe

#fallout #listen i know most people dont play lonesome road more than once bc its stupid difficult #but please. come on. they're spelling it out for you.#cant speak for bethesda games which i think mostly perpetuate this take #but in new vegas at least its like #they masterfully construct a story about not repeating the past but theres no point to that if you believe humanity is unchangeable #'humanity is inherently doomed' is an easy and comfortable take that maintains the status quo but you can and should resist it #a lot of fallout is bleak but there IS a glimmer of hope because even if war never changes people can change #okay rant over
