Sharp-shinned Hawk! Or maybe Cooper’s? Help me ID please 😊 He was pretty small, and his diving was one of the quietest and fastest I’ve seen! Shot on #Canon R5 + #Sigma 150-600C I used the 1.6x extra reach with in camera cropping! So these where shot at equivalent of 600x1.6 ~ 960mm. These little guys can camouflage so well, not knowing he was there I would have walked by him and missed him. This is an eastern screech owl, he doesn’t leave this tree often except to hunt at night. I hope to get the opportunity to see it on a branch with his eyes fully open (rare thing for them to do during day light) and on a sunny day. Facts: Height 3.1 inches, female will lay 2-6 eggs with an incubation of 28-34days and female rarely leaves the nest except for a daily stretch at dusk and dawn… who knew ? #canoncanada #explorecanada - - - - - -
