Thank you! I use canon EOS 1100D with both original 18-50mm and a 70-300mm lens (and sometimes use my phone's camera, and the film camera is canon snappy 20). I do love to see the old digital cameras getting love as well, though I myself haven't gotten into that - at least yet

My photography journey

Hey everyone! 🙋‍♂️ I've been an iPhone aficionado since the days of the iPhone 3GS. 📱 From the sleek design to the ever-evolving technology, I've owned every model along the way. But there's one feature that's always stood out to me: the camera. 📷

Back in college, you could always find me with my trusty Canon EOS 1100D. 🎓 I was that guy who carried his DSLR everywhere, capturing moments and perfecting my craft. 📸 But over time, things changed. The convenience of my iPhone started to take over. 😅

Don't get me wrong – iPhone cameras are absolutely fantastic. 

🌟 They have evolved to a point where they're rivalling some of the best dedicated cameras out there. 

For everyday photography, most people won't notice the difference between a shot taken with an iPhone 14 Pro Max and a high-end camera like the Canon XA60 - Professional 4K Video Camcorder. 🤯

Just to be clear, I don't own a Canon XA60. 🛑 I'm just making a point about the evolution of smartphone cameras. 📈 For my vlogs on my "TMarsh-Connors" YouTube account, the difference between shooting with my iPhone or a professional camcorder isn't as noticeable as you'd think. 🎥

The iPhone has made photography more accessible to everyone. 🌍 You don't need to be a pro with a bag full of gear to take stunning photos or videos. Just whip out your phone, and you're good to go! 📲

However, I do sometimes miss the days of lugging around my Canon, tweaking settings, and composing the perfect shot. 🥲 There's a certain satisfaction that comes with using a dedicated camera and knowing the intricacies of photography. 📷

While my iPhone has made me a bit lazier and more complacent, it's also given me the freedom to capture life's moments without the hassle. ✨ Whether you're using a smartphone or a DSLR, the most important thing is to keep capturing and sharing your unique perspective with the world. 🌍

"...Her approach is to “find the beauty in ordinary stuff” and then share that with her followers....

Her first travel camera was a Canon EOS 1100D which went everywhere with her. After a spell with a Nikon D810 she now uses a Nikon D5600, but maintains that “it’s more about the person not the kit”.

“Aesthetically, all my pictures are very bright and pastelly,” Carolyn explains. “I’ve developed a style which is recognisable – without the editing I wouldn’t be able to maintain that style and that look properly.”

Carolyn shoots raw images exclusively – one of the first pieces of advice from her photography evening course. She started in Adobe Camera Raw for her editing, but is now working in Lightroom. “I don’t really use Photoshop at all because I don’t do anything outside of basic editing. Camera Raw and Lightroom works perfectly for the kind of stuff I do with my pictures."
