elumax is already great but it gets even better if you consider lumax accommodating for el not being ready to be in a relationship.

lucas and max know she likes them back but they aren't ready yet so they have a conversation about it and decides that when they're ready, el will be the one who asks them out so they know she's ready.

el didn't know anything about being lgbtq+? max and lucas teach her all about being fruity and homophobia and gender until they figures out they're a lesbian.

they feel weird about their gender? nonbinary lucas and genderfluid max help her through realizing she likes she/they pronouns and is a demigirl.

they want to figure out what they like in a relationship? max and lucas read up on how to figure it out and help her through it.

she's struggling with her trauma? they read up on trauma and psychology and talk to steve, who's a therapist for children and adolescents, so they can help them through bad days and panic attacks.

lucas and max would be so good at accommodating to el.
