Random favorite food-based memory of college: going to the a-la-carte dining center to pick up a deli sandwich of the day, 20-oz. bottle of Diet Coke, and a dessert (chocolate chip cookie, brownie, or Special K/Scotcheroo bar) for lunch, hitting all my top cravings at once and never failing to bring at least 20 minutes of pure bliss no matter how awful my day was.

Second favorite: a breakfast consisting of a bottled Frappuccino and an absurdly large muffin, sugar overload be damned. This was usually reserved as a “hey you got through that HORRIBLE PRESENTATION/GROUP ACTIVITY in the morning class” reward, but definitely made those days worth it.

#thankfully the meal plan was still divided evenly between prepaid cafeteria meals and flex dollars when I went #cannot express how much I loathed going to the cafeteria and loved picking up fresh individually wrapped items to eat by myself #like why would i want to eat in a giant noisy room with PEOPLE when I could be alone with a book??#(or: the internet. which was still mostly tethered to a desktop computer when I went to college so I wasn't yet sick of it)#college memories
