Tumblr media
Pairing: Chef! Joel Miller x Professor! Reader (formally known as Bartender! Reader)
Summary: With the passage of time, Joel Miller had shifted from ‘chef’ to something more. Your once hidden relationship a secret now out in the open. After a break in which you finished your degree and managed to land your dream job of teaching at the collegiate level, Joel had thrown himself into his work at the restaurant where you met. Back together and in far better mental places in your life, you both are caught off guard by the sudden news of being prospective parents.
But things are always gonna get hectic because, of course, how else would things go with the two of you involved? It’d been that way for nearly two years after all.
Word Count: undetermined

A/N: THEY'RE BACK, BABY! our rough 'n tumble couple are back and better than ever. cannot wait to see where they take me on this sequel series journey that should be about the same amount of chapters as the original {garnish} one. i've been sitting on this idea since the lovely @tuquoquebrute came to be with a one-shot request for these two and they took over in the best way ♡♡

Another day of job hunting. I’ve already applied to all the jobs I *want* to do.
Now it’s time to apply to all the ones that are good enough.
I checked governmentjobs and usajobs and they made me want to light my computer on fire in frustration.
Next: the cannabis industry! 🍃
Applied to a sales associate position for $20/hour. I’d be supporting the sales team. It sounds fine, and I wouldn’t have to hide my cannabis use or wait until after my probationary period to use it.
At first, I was looking at budtender jobs, but they don’t make shit ($16-19/hr? lol I would like to afford weed plzkthx).
What I’d really like is to hear back from one of the ambulance dispatch jobs I applied for; that would make things easy and pleasant.
Tomorrow: Health care companies!

With breathtaking views over Table Mountain, the world’s tallest building made of industrial hemp is set to open in Cape Town this June.
At 12 stories tall, the Hemp Hotel at 84 Harrison st. used carbon-negative materials that captured more carbon in the walls of the building than it emitted manufacturing them.
South African President Cyril Ramaphosa believes that the cannabis and hemp industry could create 130,000 jobs in places like Afrimat Hemp—the producer of the so-called “HempCrete” blocks which went into the hotel.
Made from water, lime, hemp, and a cement binder, the blocks from Afrimat Hemp are made of entirely South African hemp, which along with selling to corporate clients, are also used to build a number of social housing projects in South Africa and neighbouring Mozambique.
For the Hemp Hotel, Afrimat Hemp partnered with Wolf Architects in Cape Town for the build.
The company admit that hemp construction is 20% more expensive than traditional materials, but the urgency with which some corporations want to help tackle climate change offers them a unqiue opportunity: selling carbon credits—but with buildings, rather than trees.
“We can fund forests, or we can fund someone to live in a hemp house. It’s the same principle,” Afrimat Hemp’s carbon consultant Wihan Bekker told African News.
Company data shows that a 430 square foot house (40 square meters) produces 30 fewer tons of carbon than traditional methods, around what a mature tree can sequester in its roots across its lifetime.

Also very thankful I work a fun job where working holidays aren’t a drag. So glad I took the leap to try the cannabis industry. What a blessing it’s been.

When someone suggests I get a part time job that wouldn't impact my SSDI, I start thinking about how erratic it would be. Even in, say, the cannabis industry where many employees are disabled. My resume has been collecting dust since 2009. I've been on SSDI since 2012. I used to work in libraries. I don't even know how I'd apply for a job.
