Re-reading LB1 and by God, it was a hell of an opener to the Cosmos in the Lostbelt saga. The premise of a world where "might makes right" superseded every other part of humanity is so brilliantly laid out.
It starts with the very story of the Lostbelt: a world where humanity had no choice but to become beasts. Leave each other to fend for themselves, kill each other without much thought, even eat their own. Nothing could be too barbaric, there was no place too low to stoop, because at the end of the day, survival comes first, and so they lived by abandoning everything else they had.
That theme of abandoning everything in order to live is also displayed through the Lostbelt's Crypter, Kadoc. The story first mentions Kadoc as someone kind, if not somewhat self-hating, a product of living as an average mage with too much to prove to others. Come his actual apparition in the story and he is showcased as the pettiest, most abrasive and arrogant guy around, but if you pay attention, you'll realize that it's his self-hatred dominating everything else about him. Kadoc died once without being able to prove anything and it pushed him over the edge; he discarded all other aspects of his personality (except in front of Anastasia, who reminds him to find a better way to live), favoring the cold ruthlessness that befits mages.
The narrative takes an interesting turn with the accompanying character, Patxi. He is Yaga born and bred; lived his entire life in that cruel frozen wasteland of a world in the only way the Yaga could. But, at the end of the day, he was different from the status quo. He ended up nurturing what the world perceived as weakness, always keeping his mother in his heart, which other Yaga pointed out as stupidity on his part. He harbored a kindness that was ill-fitted to his own world, but allowed him to know of another through his encounter with Chaldea.
The overlapping themes of "might makes right", "abandonment of weakness" and "transformation into monsters" can be seen in the Servants accompanying the journey: a Germanic warrior of old, a gunslinger of the Wild West, a swordswoman of the turbulent Sengoku period, a pianist accused by the world of a crime he didn't commit, a Greek huntress that can transform into the monster she slayed, a royal who was slaughtered without being able to do anything, the terrifying emperor of a merciless land, the tragic monster of the labyrinth. Even Avicebron and his antics in previous works might fit.
And most beautiful of all is the conclusion this story brings, and the hook into the next ones: the Master of Chaldea's realization of what they must do to take back their world. This Lostbelt and its Yaga, as cruel and cold and merciless as they are, are still a world and its people. But it must all vanish.
In the end, is it worth to fight for a lost world by sacrificing an existing one? The answer is nebulous at best, with many different opinions, but Ritsuka stuck to one thanks to Patxi, the Yaga who knew both cruelty and kindness. The years pass and it's still one of the most memorable scenes in the history of this game: Patxi, holding Ritsuka by their collar, refusing to forgive Ritsuka for forsaking the possibility of a different, better world. A world he'd like to live in, even if it's impossible in the end.
Bottom line, I love LB1.

I have… so many little thoughts about Simon’s shift in the climax of ‘Prismo the Wishmaster’. He’s so ready to give up, to resign to Death By Interdimensional Beetle Cop. And the thing that pulls him out of it, gets him to see a purpose in his life again, is seeing Fionna cry.
Tumblr media
And this moment is so important for Fionna and Cake because this is their first moment to really process the Implications and Consequences of their magical adventure. You know, it’s not just a dream you can wake up from - this is actually a matter of life and death and the fate of their entire world.
And it’s actually, also kinda the same from Simon’s perspective? Even if he was already told they are real and have been real all along a while ago - I think seeing Fionna break out in tears is really the moment where he processed her not as a manifestation of Ice King’s madness, not as yet another way the universe is kicking him when he’s down, not as a cruel joke at his expense. But really actually as people, who need his help.
And, I think about this, also in context with this moment?
Tumblr media
Simon Petrikov is… a dad at heart. Simon’s first focus episode in F&C starts with a prologue of him and Marceline surviving in the wasteland. Showing that despite being under much more miserable circumstances
Tumblr media
he still seemed to hold himself together far better than present-day Simon.
Tumblr media
Because the need to protect Marcy and keep her happy was giving him purpose and a motivation to hold himself together.
And this desire to help and nurture and protect is clearly still deep within him. It’s just that now he feels incapable for doing so. In both body-
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And spirit -
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But now, suddenly, he is once again the Only Person Who Can Help this younger person in distress.
Tumblr media
And I think that is a huge part of his motivation to keep on going right now. I mean, just look at how quickly he goes from dismissing Fionna and Cake - into basically declaring that he has to protect them. And fully willing to sacrifice his own identity and sanity to bring magic back to their world because he knows it’ll make Fionna and Cake happy. Because the moment he saw Fionna tear up, he basically decided to Adopt her.
And that’s, you know, technically a step forward - but it is a very very imperfect step.
Like, at the very least he’s not drinking his sorrows away while waiting for death out of pure despair and spite. At least he has a sense of purpose and a reason to open up for others again and bond. And we’ve seen how much this has been a great coping mechanism for pulling himself together through difficult times.
Tumblr media
My guess is that after two episodes of only seeing Simon Petrikov at his lowest and very worst - Fionna and Cake are finally going to get an understanding of Simon’s actual positive qualities as his dad-instincts are going to bring them up to the surface again.
Buuuuuuuut….
You know, tying your sense of self-worth and motivation entirely to how well you can Dad is not particularly healthy in the long run either. And it’s going to cause problems both for Simon and for F&C.
Looking at it from what's best of Simon, for the sake of protecting Fionna and Cake and making them happy by bringing magic and wonder back into their world - Simon is willing to throw himself right into the suffering and trauma that he’s been fearing all this time and has been trying so hard to get away from. I mean, it’s also about how Simon has started to miss being Ice King in a weird twisted way and how he resigned himself to being miserable in general. It’s also about that, but the part that he actually says out loud is that he’s doing this to protect Fionna and Cake.
Tumblr media
So that’s, you know, still very Not Good. Simon can’t hang his entire ability to properly function on there being Younger People who need his protection. He can't actually move forwards by trying to relive the Better Times of the Horrible Post-Apocalyptic Wasteland. That's not a sustainable coping mechanism. And it’s an incredibly unhealthy amount of self-sacrifice.
And on Fionna’s side… she never said she wanted Simon to protect her.
She might want a useful teammate or a helping hand, she might need a friend. But I don’t think she needs a Dad. Simon is surely old enough to be her father (even just counting his age biologically and not the fact he’s 1058 years old) but Fionna’s not a Literal Child like Marcy was. Fionna Campbell is a grown-ass woman in her early 30’s (Finn is 29 years old right now and there was always kinda the implication that Fionna was a bit older than him).
(And, heck, if she IS the daughter of a gender-flipped Minerva Campbell, she is probably not in the market for a new overprotective dad. She’s fully booked out on that.)
AND while Fionna does not possess full memories of her magical-adventuring-self, she clearly retains some of her fighting and athletic abilities.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile Cake is clearly an adult in cat years and is just as much of an insanely powerful shapeshifter as Jake was.
Tumblr media
So where does this middle-aged scrawny nerd get off, acting like it’s his job to sacrifice his mind in order to protect them?
And Fionna very much wants to be the hero, she wants to be at the center of the action. It is no coincidence that her own idealized version of Ice King/Simon is a Tuxedo Mask.
Tumblr media
Someone who can give her a helping hand and words of encouragement when things get rough -
Tumblr media
But still lets her be the main hero of the story.
Tumblr media
And you know, right now Fionna and Cake have not fully processed the implications of Simon choosing to become Ice King… but once they see a bit of who Simon really is at his better moments. Yeah, they’re probably gonna have some objections to the idea that he should throw his entire identity away just for their own sake.
Back when Simon allowed the Crown to slowly consume him so he could protect Marcy, it felt like a noble sacrifice. It really seemed like he had no other options. But now he has the entire multiverse on his disposal and two serious badasses on his side. Simon has to learn to see the difference between a codependent senseless self-sacrifice and something that will actually help Fionna and Cake.
So if Simon is really going to lean too hard on his Dad aspect, it’s actually going to cause some really big problems down the line. For his own mental well-being, and for Fionna and Cake. It is in a way, a step in the right direction. And I think it’s going to lead to our main trio finally becoming closer and understanding each other - but unless Simon learns to temper himself, it’s going to cause some serious interpersonal conflicts.
At least this is my thoughts about these interactions right now. I know they’ve been really short but I think they’re really full of Meaning and Emotions. But really, we’ll just have to wait and see.

how does aruani handle their drinks?
Hello anon!
Not well? xD
In the sense that Armin is a lightweight, so he really can't handle anything. Half a beer and he's tipsy. A little bit more and he's sloshed. Armin getting drunk means possible-almost-certain tears and an emotional outburst, climaxed with cheesy proclamations of friendship and love. Whoever is next to him will relive their entire history with him and become enlightened to his deepest thoughts of them.
"... Connie. I... *hic* I love you..."
"Yeah yeah I know, you've said it 10 times already. Now sleep."
"... I really.. love you."
"... I love you too man."
"... well you sometimes smell but... I know... I still remember how we, hehe... went to the market and chased... hehehehe a puppy..."
"... I SMELL???!!!"
They can't even be mad at him because he's a drunk loser cutie pie.
WIth Annie he's just repeating all his wedding vows for the millionth time because Drunk Armin sees Annie in max shoujo filter.
"... I swear I won't... let you down... you're so pretty... will you make me... a happy man and *hic* marry me?"
"... yeah."
"Hehhe... Anniieeeeeee.... I... *hic* I... I love you so much and *starts sobbing* I c-can't believe you're going to... be my wife..."
"Well I've been your wife for 10 years but. Yeah. Yes. Okay."
Drunk Annie, on the other hand, becomes your local clingy purry cat that loves headbutts (aggressive) and cuddling (affectionate). The choice between these two depends on who's next to her.
Basically, this is a Rated R cat (violence, gore, death, graphic content).
"Reiner."
"Yeah, Annie? I think you've had too many drinks, you don't look good..."
"Reiner."
"Y-yeah? What do you need?"
"I've been haarrd on you."
"Huh?"
"I've hit you a lot, huh."
"Oh... well I guess... but I deserv-"
"I'm sorrrrry."
"...Annie?"
"I meanit."
"O-okay? Well, that's... nice. I appreciate it, really-"
"Lemme give you a hug."
"... Awww. Annie, of course I-"
*horrible crunching noise, blood splatters everywhere, teeth go flying. A headbutt has dislocated a jaw.*
Oh but... this is also a Rated R cat ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
"A-Ah-Arumih..."
"Yes, Annie?"
"I... Mhmmmmm..."
"Wanna go home?"
"Mhmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm..."
"... Ah--um--Annie wait--"
"Arumihhhhhh~"
"Annie um-listen, that's my... thigh-"
"I want to... mhmmmmmmmmmmmm....."
"--Not th-that, Annie, come on--ah!--please, we should just--eee!-go home? okay?"
*everyone else watching as poor Armin struggles with his very horny and excited girlfriend trying to give him a footjob under the table*
RIP.

Reunion
Yandere!Bakugo x Fem!Reader
Word count: 1.6k
Trigger Warning: NSFW, Noncon, Somnophilia, Alcohol, Hints of Future Blackmail, Yandere
Tumblr media
Propping himself up against the cool wall of the gymnasium, Bakugo mentally cursed himself for allowing himself to be roped into attending his high school reunion by his friends. When he first received the letter in the mail inviting him to attend the ten-year class reunion at U.A., he chucked it into the trash without so much of a second thought. He thought himself above attending some shitty party made up of washed-up heroes and extras desperate to relive their glory days. However, after enduring weeks of constant pestering by Kirishima and Kaminari, Bakugo finally gave in to their demands.
Throughout the evening, Bakugo tried his best to avoid chatting with former classmates while his friends mingled amongst the crowd. After grabbing a cup of punch, Bakugo resigned himself to wasting the night away at some pathetic function as his friends likely tried to get laid. As he mindlessly scrolled through his phone, he noticed a figure approaching him from the corner of his eye.
“Bakugo, is that you?” the woman’s voice called out to him. Furrowing his brows, Bakugo scowled as he reluctantly pulled his gaze away from his phone, looking up to the woman that stood in front of him.
“(Y/N)…” your name escaping his lips before he could even think, recognizing you immediately. You were a former classmate and friend who Bakugo had a crush on during your years together at U.A. Back then, Bakugo foolishly chose to ignore whatever feelings he had for you, far too focused on his goal of becoming the number one hero.
It had been nearly a decade since he had last seen you, but as you stood in front of him, his feelings all came rushing back. To him, you still looked as beautiful as ever. Your body had matured, having grown into your curves, your tight black dress highlighting this. Your hair was styled differently, flattering your more defined facial features. But, the one change that caught Bakugo by surprise was the small diamond ring that sat on your left ring finger.
“So, how have you been, Bakugo?” your question pulls Bakugo out of his thoughts, his eyes leaving the ring on your finger to meet your eager gaze. The two of you begin to chat, discussing your lives. While you’re talking, the world around you disappears, Bakugo’s sole focus on you. He learns that shortly after graduation, you moved away from Musutafu, and your career as a pro-hero hadn't panned out the way you hoped it would. Instead, you now worked a dead-end job as a waitress at a diner. You've also been married for about five years to some man, whose name he can't be bothered to remember, who works some menial office job.
In the back of his mind, Bakugo can’t help but think that he could give you a better life, one that you deserve. He would be able to pamper you with gifts and allow you, as his wife, to stay at home. He’d be a perfect husband for you, he’s sure, better than your current one. You’d never want for anything as long as you would be a good little housewife for him.
Caught up in his thoughts, he only snaps out of his thoughts as he notices you’ve stopped speaking and are looking to Bakugo as if awaiting his response. “Sorry, what did you say?”
You laugh at his behavior before replying, "I said, it’s getting late, and most people have headed out by now, so I think it’s time for me to call it a night and head back to the hotel.” Oh, that’s right. He recalls you mentioning something about choosing to spend the night at a nearby hotel rather than driving home late into the night. Bakugo takes a glance towards the crowd, now considerably less dense as the hours went by. He scowled as he failed to locate Kirishima or Kaminari among them; the two likely left him to wander off to god knows where.
His attention turns back to you as you begin to say your goodbyes to him, but he stops you, deciding to take his chance, “Hey, what do you say we head back to my place?”
You try to decline Bakugo’s offer, always so thoughtful and reserved. Still, he continues, “We can spend time catching up over something a whole lot better than this crappy punch. Besides, I’d hate for you to have to walk alone through the city this late.” And it’s true, Bakugo has seen first-hand the dangers that lie in wait in the darkness of Musutafu.
After thoughtful consideration, you agree to accompany Bakugo back to his home, a much more appealing offer than the seedy hotel you were currently staying at. Bakugo’s lips tightened to a wolfish grin as the two of you began to walk back to his apartment, thankful that you were so obedient and trusting.
Arriving at his apartment, he’s quick to supply you with a generous glass of wine. The two of you reminisce about old times and talk of your current lives for what feels like hours, slowly becoming drunk after a few too many glasses of wine. Bakugo learns you’re a lightweight, noticing the way your eyes start to grow heavy and how your words begin to slur.
Bakugo watches silently as you rub your eyes, yawning as you stretch your arms. When you lean a bit too far, falling from your chair in a drunken stupor, Bakugo’s there to catch you. Deciding to get you to bed, Bakugo hoists you into his arms and carries you into his bedroom as you mumble incoherently. Setting you on the bed, he stands over you, eyeing your form with a lustful gaze.
Watching your breathing slow to a peaceful, Bakugo’s hands begin to shake and grow clammy as he begins to have second thoughts. No, he couldn’t afford to let you slip from his fingers again. Shaking his head, he waits a few minutes before slowly nudging your shoulder while whispering your name. When you fail to rouse from your slumber, Bakugo lets out a sigh of relief.
Through patience and determination, he manages to unzip your dress, tossing the clothing on the ground beside him. Taking a moment to appreciate the lovely view in front of him, he licks his lips as he eyes your perky breasts. His hands slowly pull down your bra to grope your breasts without the pesky garment interfering. Cupping your mounds, he massages them, eliciting a soft moan from your lips. Freezing, Bakugo waits a few moments before continuing his actions once more. Leaning closer to your bare breasts, he begins to nip and suckle on your nipples as they harden in response.
Moving his attention downwards, he leaves a trail of wet, fervent kisses down to your navel. Pulling away from you, his fingers trace down your covered slit. Feeling the pooling wetness, Bakugo pulls your panties to the side. Settling his face in between your thighs, he teasingly licked at your entrance before burying his tongue in your warm cunt. As his tongue works wonders inside the crevices of your hole, his thumb rubs and squeezes at your bud. Despite being in a deep sleep, your body still reacted to Bakugo’s perverted acts, your toes curling as you came around his tongue.
Satisfied with his work, Bakugo hastily undresses, leaving on only his boxers. Freeing his hardened cock, Bakugo gives his shaft a quick few pumps as he lines the tip up with your aroused sex. Placing his hands around your hips, Bakugo gradually sinks into your heat. Finally burying himself fully within you, he releases a breathy moan.
“Fuck, you’re so tight.” he hisses, pushing your legs close to your chest to allow him better access. Allowing you a moment to adjust, Bakugo begins to shallowly thrust. Leaning his weight on top of you, his lips meet yours as he passionately kisses you, his tongue swirling around your own. Pulling back, a string of saliva  connects the two of you as he moves onto your throat, sucking and kissing at the vulnerable skin there.
With his pace quickening, his thrusts become more sloppy, his hands tightening around your hips, likely leaving bruises. As he’s pummeling your tight hole, his eyes catch the golden wedding band on your finger. Smirking to himself in selfish delight, Bakugo can’t help but feel victorious. Sure, your husband might have held your affections, but he’s not the one fucking your sweet little cunt right now, is he? Besides, Bakugo’s sure that you’ll clearly see how much better of a man and partner he is compared to your pitiful husband.
Growing closer to his climax, Bakugo intertwines his hands in your own, taking a sick sense of pride as he feels the metal against his fingers. Feeling himself approaching his breaking point, he exclaims, “Fuck, fuck, I love you!” Capturing your lips once more, he roughly pounds into your warmth, the tip of his dick kissing your cervix until he floods your womb with his cum.
Spent, his dick slowly softens, and he pulls out of you, watching as his cum oozes out of you. Tucking himself back into his boxers, he retrieves his phone, taking countless photos of you with his cum seeping out of your abused hole. He knows these will come in handy soon; he’ll make sure of it. Collapsing onto the bed beside you, he pulls you into a loving embrace. Placing soft kisses against the shell of your ear, his fingers brush through your hair. You’re his, you might not know that yet, but he’s more than willing to prove that to you.
