On a scale from one to ten, how toxic is flowey and papyrus's friendship in this au?
Ehhh not that bad
Like a 3-4?? It used to be like an 8 back on the underground
But rn they're on a post pacifist timeline! Flowey is actually trying to get better! But it's hard to change so quickly, old habits can stick
He's not planning anything evil! But he is being manipulative and secretive about it
He know some of the stuff he does is bad, but he doesn't feel like he can change that much for the better, so he's gonna do it anyways!
I think the worst things about what he's doing is being super secretive about it and lying to get what he wants, but he's being like that because he knows that if he screws up this time
He can't reset
And it's gonna stay with him
He's not trying to get rid of one of the only persons that actually talks to him and spends time with him! But he's really really curious about Papyrus' past
#really need to emphasize that this is a post pacifist timeline#and from what we've seen in the few dialogues we have of him being on the surface#he's not that bad#he's not doing any malicious stuff#but he's still flowey#and it's probably going to take him a long time to be fully comfortable and happy and kind again#he's still a little mean but honestly Papyrus is used to that and know that's just how Flowey is akwhwksk#Papyrus really believes in Flowey#can't really say here what Flowey's plan is#because....that's a spoiler....#but uh#It's not SUPER EVIL#but uh he's not gonna ask nicely and directly#he knows that won't work

Howdy! In honor of Let Papyrus Say Fuck Day, I've decided to put together a little collection of fics that should be more Papyrus focused!
What Are Friends For by IchikiWindGryphon (Teen And Up, Incomplete)
Undyne and Papyrus are the best of friends. But when Undyne learns Papyrus's greatest secret, it pushes their relationship to the brink. Things only get worse as she learns of the skeleton brothers' traumatic past, and the horrors of Dr. W.D. Gaster.
We Need to Talk by batter_sempai (General Audiences, Incomplete)
Something is bothering Frisk. Because of a deal they made in the past, a familiar voice keeps haunting them, telling them to murder those close to them and threatening to take over their body. For a while, only Flowey knows what is happening to them, but their struggle to keep in control is noticed by Papyrus, who offers to help them. All three of them soon find themselves isolated, as Papyrus attempts to communicate to the Fallen Child possessing Frisk, in order to protect his brother and to prevent another genocide run from occurring.
Flowey Is Not a Good Life Coach by unrestedjade (Mature, Complete)
Flowey gets bored and decides to change up one of his runs. Papyrus presents an interesting project, for the moment.
You Can't Make An Emotionally-Developed Papyrus Omelette Without Breaking A Few Limit-Eggs by KachiggaTHUNDER (Teen And Up, Complete)
Papyrus faces everything with a positive attitude, and never gives up once he's been asked to do something. As nice as that is in theory, it can lead to problems in practice. Problems such as strained friendships, personal doubts and damage to one's personal possessions. Still, no problem can make the Great Papyrus give up! ...Probably.
Two Sides of the Same Coin by AceFace98 (Teen And Up, Complete)
Papyrus lived his whole life in a single room, with only the “Mental Evaluation” days to look forward to (he called them “Long Boring Test” days, which was much more accurate). He never really minded his life, he didn’t know anything else. The doctors were all really nice to him, and he had everything he could possibly want. Expect, maybe, he wished he wasn’t so lonely. But when his wish comes true, everything else comes crashing down around him. Another skeleton child breaks into his room, carrying a backpack full of supplies and plans of escape. Papyrus tags along with him, mostly not to loose the closest thing he’s ever had to a friend, and he finds out quickly that he’s grossly unprepared for the outside world. But friends stick together, especially when they might be...brothers?
The Deep End Yessica (Teen And Up, Complete)
There must have been a mistake. He doesn’t belong here. Life is great. Monsters are free, the surface is wonderful and things couldn’t be better. So the fact that Papyrus still wants to die, isn’t really a problem, is it?
Blue Heart by Rogue_Mutt (Teen And Up, Incomplete)
In the Underfell Universe, Papyrus continues to uphold his duties as a member of the Royal Guard Militia alongside his brother Sans. When he accepts an assignment from Undyne to collect taxes from Snowdin, he is then ambushed before he can make the delivery. After being brutally attacked, he gains the respect from king Asgore Dreemurr himself, who offers Papyrus to become an official member of his grim guard. Papyrus will come to understand the rules of this Kill or be killed world as he comes to question exactly what he is willing to do to keep he and his brother alive and well.
Forgettable by Peepasaurus (Teen And Up, Complete)
After the world went dark, everyone lost a few memories. But some forgot more than others. Papyrus couldn't decipher what was real or an illusion. What was a nightmare or a memory. What it meant to keep hearing the words, 'I am here'.
Oh, Brother by peachyelixer (Teen And Up, Complete)
Papyrus had always seen himself as the stronger brother. Of course - why wouldn’t he when his lazy brother, Sans, spends 90% of the day sleeping in his room and the other 10% doing god-knows-what? But when the secrets of time-lines and what Sans has been keeping on his shoulders are revealed, Papyrus makes a promise both to himself and to his brother that Sans wouldn’t fight this battle on his own anymore. Papyrus was going to help his older brother, no matter what.
How To Be A Big Brother by kaliawai512 (General Audiences, Complete)
Frisk is upset. Papyrus doesn't know why. They're on the surface, everyone is safe and they all have a brand new life together. But Frisk has been sitting in the corner during the day and waking up screaming in the middle of the night. They are very, very upset, and Papyrus wants to help. He just doesn't know how. But he does know how someone helped him when he was young, and maybe, just maybe, he can do the same thing himself. Maybe he can be as great a big brother as his own was to him. (Secret Santa gift for Peanutable - happy holidays!!)
#it was surprisingly difficult to find fics that are papyrus centered#i still found them & could probably find more#but it's definitely easier to find fics with sans as the main character#fic rec#fic recommendation#ao3 fic recs#papyrus#let papyrus say fuck#undertale#utmv#not suitable for minors#mod sleepy

Man it's been a long time since I've done an ask cluster! Let's see if I can get some down...
He's an extremely fun character to write for and play with! So in that sense I'm fond of him, haha. He's such a huge disaster of a person, there's always something fun to do with him. Well "fun" in a relative sense.
I don't have anything to forgive him for, he didn't hurt me. |D He hurt the brothers!
I do have an idea for a cute feature inspired by Six-Eared Macaque! I should really sit down and do that already... and finish the one I half started but never finished...
I don't think my opinion on any of them changed! I love them all, haha. Which ones I drew comics about just depends on which ones I get ideas for really. Sometimes I get Alphys ideas and sometimes I get Goatparents ideas! Inspiration is fickle!
I don't have any solid plans or anything. :B Just gonna keep chugging along with silly comics and art! Work on Defrag and such. I'd like to finish a Ladyverse comic I've had lying around forever, and I had vague plans for doing a doujin for them too I could work on... and also seeing if I could format Handplates into a book format... I've always got a bunch of projects, haha.
It works on that level! It wasn't intentional though. |D
I do enjoy speculation! I don't really have much of my own though, I didn't predict anything in chapter 2 so now I'm assuming I can't predict anything in the future chapters either, haha.
Emesis Blue is great! Some really beautiful visuals in there, very striking! Love the mood of it too and a lot of the surreal imagery. I think it helped spur me back into TF2 again, haha. Medic and Scout's relationship was so cute.
I have thought about this! It has its share of challenges though... I outlined them more in this post. A pdf would be more doable though... could even include some extra stuff as well! Hmm...
I can see that! He'd probably spend as much time out in the rain as he could just doing whatever to stay outside.
It was pretty much always going to end like that. I always wanted it to end on a hopeful note! Which might seem weird with how dark it is at the beginning. I DID for a brief period at the very beginning of Handplates think about stopping with the Pacifist run, but that was only because I thought going where I wanted to go would take too long and already the project seemed so dauntingly huge at the time, haha. But it was always going to end in a positive way!
Gaster talks about what he originally intended to create here, and he explains a bit about the physical experiments he runs on the brothers here. They aren't really a solution in and of themselves so much as tools to try and find a way to break the barrier. Really though, Gaster got stuck in the sunk-cost fallacy lol.
I don't really have opinions about what canon Gaster would be like. |D Handplates Gaster is his own thing really. Canon Gaster, who knows! Deltarune Gaster, who knows! I will say I hope Gaster stays a mystery in Deltarune and never actually shows up but I think the odds of that are really low at this point.
I thought about doing a script along those lines! I did a few rough drafts of one, but it never really went anywhere... it'd end up dead-ending or kind of meandering off. I might see if I can get an actual script down for a side-comic or something in the future... it might be better suited for a fic.
I was just thinking about this lately! I was picturing Gaster totally forgetting about that until he sees Papyrus squinting and is like OH GOD YOUR EYES THAT'S RIGHT D: and goes to get him looked at lol.
I couldn't come up with a good idea for Flowey which is a shame, I do like him, haha. If one comes to me though I might make a little side comic about it!
Gaster's LV is complicated... his stats in-game are ludicrous if I recall correctly. Did he carry the damage from his murders into the void, even if those murders weren't his in the new timeline? Deep thoughts.
He fed them anything he could find, haha. Which is why sometimes they just ended up with chocolate bars (which he intended as dinner for himself). He probably fed them more often than he fed himself lol. He did feed them fairly regularly though.
Not about skeletons, probably. |D
Man I know I had an explanation for this but it was so long ago... it's hard for me to remember. It could be that the Riverperson is just weird and has weird insight into elements of things, had a prophetic dream... I don't know! It bugs me now that I can't remember this, haha.

Gotta love how Flowey never gets a break.
UTY (just for comparison):
Pacifist: you die and he decides to wait for the next human (canonically, this is what would have to happen).
Neutral: Flowey kidnaps your SOUL and forces you to die over and over in his nightmare world, but the whole thing is just in his head. Flowey doesn't have the power to take over the whole world, and he eventually gets bored of playing with you and resets.
Genocide: Flowey realizes early on that his SAVE/LOAD ability is the only reason you haven't killed him. He eventually loses that ability and gets slaughtered.
Undertale:
Neutral: The SOULs rebel. In later runs, he decides it's better not to even try.
Genocide: He realizes you've become a genocidal freak and that you will kill him. Of course, this had to be the one time he's actually right.
Pacifist: He finally becomes the god of hyperdeath, reunited with Chara in some way. But Frisk just doesn't give up. And Flowey- now Asriel- starts to feel again. He finds his old self that was lost in a sea of successive SAVEs and resets and turns back into a goat boy- and, eventually, back into a flower.
Flowey never gets what he wants. Or at least not what he thinks he wants. What he wants is to feel again. And if he can't have that, he will tear down the world over and over and over and over, in a futile attempt to stave off the boredom and loneliness that has driven him completely insane.
But what he needs is healing. Isn't it funny how he doesn't feel again until he's able to talk to Chara, to really talk to them? Ok, maybe absorbing all the monster SOULs had something to do with being able to feel. But he didn't lose that ability once he gave them all back. And if SOULs were enough to make him feel true emotions again, you'd think the wide array of emotions from the human SOULs should have been enough. (Ok, arguably, it could simply be how much all the monsters love Frisk that got thru to him- but I was trying to make a point, here.)
Flowey has spent goodness knows how many years living with the guilt of assisting Chara in suicide. He never really says it, but I think he must live (if you can call that "living") with intense guilt over having killed them. And if that wasn't enough, he didn't even go thru with their plan. It seems like Chara may have tried to take control and wanted to kill more than six, and Asriel couldn't do that. So he had to live with the secret of having killed his best friend for NOTHING.
Is it any wonder he went crazy? And on top of that, then he wakes up and finds SIX SOULS have already been taken, when he refused to kill even ONE. What are a few monster or human lives compared to the wasted lives of both himself and Chara?
Flowey never got what he wanted because what he decided he wanted wasn't what he needed, or even what he really wanted. What he wanted was to be able to stop hating himself and everyone else. We give that to him by bringing Chara to him so he can settle everything once and for all.

More STP Thoughts
So I did this thing earlier but now I'm thinking... There's games that the voices would play... but then there's something else that I can't stop thinking about. What would be the most interesting game characters for the voices to be? Say that after the Construct shatters, they're all thrown into being their own Player Character of different games.
Contrarian is probably the easiest in my mind. Stanley from The Stanley Parable, same as he would probably enjoy playing. It's a game in which he is in a constant loop of disobeying the whims of an angry British Narrator with a capital N who has very strong opinions on what the correct path is. And would be fun to try pull him out of there, because I'd bet my life savings that the Narrator would guilt-trip him about it. And *eyes my TSP ships* it might get a bit... awkward.
Opportunist, a voice that I didn't have any clue what to do with before but now have the perfect idea. Lamb from Cult of the Lamb. Manipulative, obeying a higher deity but ultimately self-serving, made a deal in exchange for his own freedom only to (potentially) disobey when his own life is at stake. Originally was planning for Broken in this role because of the whole Priest to a cruel god, but Opportunist just works better. A really inflated ego from defeating and enslaving a god plus things turning out extremely beneficial to him will make he really hard to convince to leave.
Cold... well, there are multiple options here. I'm not going with Flowey because I think he just doesn't have it in him to be that chirpy, even as an act. Although that would be funny for the other voices to deal with... Instead, I'm going to go with Batter from OFF. It's not as big of a game as the others, but I really think it works. Think Genocide Route Frisk, but there's no other choice but to kill everything. Wipe the world of any life at all, do whatever it takes to complete his task, no matter who has to die to achieve it. Getting him to stop trying to "purify" the voices for long enough to listen to them would be one of the hardest parts, but at least he can't attack during dialogue.
Paranoid is another one that I didn't really have any ideas on until lately. But now I have the Doorman from That's Not My Neighbor. Sure, there's a bit of a more Skeptic role with the whole question them until they reveal the truth, but I think it still works. I mean the whole Nightmares and distrust of what's real and what's fake... it was a tough choice but ultimately Paranoid works a bit better in a horror setting than Skeptic. And getting him out of there. Oh, I don't even know how the other voices will drag him out of his safe little office.
Smitten... Oh, Smitten I'm so sorry. The unnamed protagonist of Doki Doki Literature Club! Has good intentions (just falling in love with a girl), believes he's in a romance story until too late. I wouldn't be surprised if this scars him for life. I'm not sure if he would even make it to the end before breaking down completely. He doesn't even have Cold to do all the emotional repression for him. Even if he is probably the easiest to convince into leaving, getting him to even be responsive again would probably be a struggle.
Hero would probably be the one having to convince to others to leave, to be honest. Sorry buddy. Someone has to do it and I'm afraid you are just the best fit for the role. At least LQ might be there to help you. Might.
I'm not really familiar with any games that work well for the other voices so please let me know your thoughts if you have any ideas! The more painful the better 😈
Edit 1 (suggestion from an anon ask):
Broken as the protagonist from Do Not Take This Cat Home. Gosh, this was so perfect. The game is literally a metaphor for abusive relationships, he's trapped in a endless loop repeatedly meeting his abuser and dying by their whims. He's lonely, desperate, and just wanting a companion and to make that companion happy with him. Please take him out. He's going need to be dragged kicking and screaming because he is very likely not going to be able to get the good ending by himself.
Edit 2 (Another anon suggestion 😈):
Cheated as the player in Buckshot Roulette. Wow. A lot of the voices work really well in other indie horror games and Cheated is no different. There is nothing but the game. A Russian roulette game with multiple twists and changes, but at the end of the day that same back and forth of each one trying to win. Back and forth and back and forth. Trying to use new tricks to win the same game. One of them has to die. But no matter who does, neither truly wins. Will he even want to leave until the game is "over"? Probably not. Please drag him out, he's going mad trying to win a loser's game. I love this.
Edit 3 (More anon suggestions yay!!!):
Hunted as the Slugcat from Rain World. Literally trapped in an endless circle of death and rebirth, escaping getting eaten, killed by the elements, or starving to death. I've said about every single suggestion, but I honestly think this fits extremely well. There are even little changes to the story you can make dependent on which path you chose! (Monk, Survivor, Hunter). Will also probably attack whoever tries pull him out because cat > bird and I think that's funny so that's also a win :D
Edit 4 (Suggestion from @gallus-mundus):
Skeptic as the player from Exit 8. Hahahaha wow almost none of the voices actually left the horror genre, did they? But YES. This works so well for him. Sure, the deductions are very limited, but it's not really like he did that many in the game to be honest. His chronic overthinker ass is not beating the game (read: chaining yourself to the wall, you absolute dumbass). There's a time limit, even if he does manage to figure out the trick to escaping I really don't think he is going to make it out alone. At least he should be reasonably easy to convince to leave compared to the rest...
Edit 5
Stubborn as V1 from Ultrakill. Finally, another voice that escape the horror genre! Not a perfect fit, but pretty neat in my humble opinion. Literally running on bloodshed, a sense of duty/purpose to fight, but often also characterised as someone that enjoys the fight itself. And... *Side-eyes at Gabriel/V1* yeah, that type of relationship looks... familiar. Good luck getting him out of there, he's discovered the wonderous world of modern weaponry. (Alternatively, if he's taken out at the end of the game... yeah probably not in that good of an emotional state either.)
WOOOO YEAH FINALLY DONE!!! THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR HELP!!!

Gotta say, I love how you made so many posts criticizing people who see Chara as an abuser, yet in your own AU you depict them as a cruel, vindictive bully who tries to turn Asriel's family against her, drives her to suicide, then guilt-trips her into getting back together with them. Yet Asriel is somehow the real abuser because she's mad at them for ruining her life. I am by no means a Chara hater, but that seems a little inconsistent.
// CW: discussions of suicide, long post
wow, what an incredibly uncharitable reading of my work! thank you so much!
okay, jokey-positive aside. i shouldn't respond to bad-faith criticism like this because it's not worth my time as it's unlikely you'll actually hear me out in response. I've been online long enough to know you don't feed the trolls.
but, I'm an optimist at heart and I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that you're actually upset with me and do want to have a civil conversation and are not just here to spew hate and drag me down.
Ask Fallen Royalty, the tumblr version wasn't handled the best as it was my first attempt at really trying to write this subject matter and I felt I didn't tackle it as well as I could have. that's something I plan on fixing with the rewrite.
that said, I have never called either of the siblings abusers.
they're flawed, mentally unwell and traumatized young adults/teens who are in no way equipped to handle the situation they were put in.
they both did awful things. Asriel packaged their trauma in a sanitized way for profit and sympathy points believing it'd benefit Monsterkind. they did so without asking Chara for permission. Then later, at Christmas, Asriel abandoned their family to go solo ruling. That's shitty! That's objectively really shitty but it's a very understandable reaction.
Asriel is taught that money is what moves the world and they believe they're soulless and a faker. That if anyone were to know their secret they'd hate them. so prevent that hurt, they cut everyone else out.
That's completely why Chara goes from "oh man I miss Asriel I wish I was good enough to have them beside me again ):" to 180 "Actually screw them for leaving me i hate them for this. i don't deserve to wallow in pain waiting for someone who can't even bother to text me back" them cutting of asriel is an understandable reaction for anyone, let alone a teenager! could they have been more gentle? yeah. could they have tried to fix things? yeah! but they're not a villain for not having the emotional maturity or foresight to handle a complex situation like that. they're like, literally 15/16 at this point of the story
chara also wasn't trying to drive people away from asriel? i really don't know what you're referring to with this aside from Chara deciding to tell the (at the time they believed) truth that Asriel is Flowey. At that point, Chara literally thought Asriel was replaced by Flowey. That they were two different people. That's not to isolate them- its to be honest with the family with this huge news. Toriel is shown not to care that her children are flowers, it would have never mattered to her as we see immediately that Chara is a flower and Toriel doesn't care.
chara also didn't drive Asriel to suicide. that's a blatant misread of the text. It's not that Asriel decided to die right after Chara decided to cut them off. and it's NOT like chara handed them a loaded gun or told them to do anything. all they did was say "don't lie to our family and don't talk to me, i don't want to be friends with you."
Asriel didn't decide to die until they felt their weak support system was breaking down. Yun wanted to be with Mew Mew, the Band broke up (Shyren, Napstablook and most recently Mew Mew quit), they made a big stupid movie that they hate (the epitome of their fake narrative on the silver screen), and because they ditched the premiere to check on chara (who was missing) their agents are pissed off.
Mew Mew then talks about how troubled Flowey/Asriel is and how being a secret flower hurt their social life. (The relationship with Flora being a strong example) like, Flowey always sabotages or loses those they care about because everyone else has their own life and they don't open themselves to create connections that last because they're running away. it's the culmination of everything going wrong that drives them to that point.
plus, it's hammered home later in Flowey's introspection that they feel horribly guilty for their actions as Flowey. parading as their perfect King when they secretly killed a majority of mosnterkind and did who knows what else is like. majorly fucked up.
i'm unsure if you forgot or chose to ignore the larger narrative or what's happened, but these things are in the story. they're both messed up individuals who have a hard time communicating their feelings -Chara literally brings up having emotional dysregulation disorder and CPTSD in the epilogue. Asriel's imposter syndrome and-gestures to Flowey) is also a clear indication that they've got some fundamental mental health issues that prevent them from understanding themselves and others.
it's a story about broken people who lash out against each other but ultimately come together in love.
they care so so deeply for each other! they're family. messing up (especially as children, teenagers etc) doesn't mean you shouldn't be written off as disposable. you're ALL capable of fucking up severely but you have the chance to grow and better yourself. you owe it to those who are willing to give that chance to do better. that's what the story has always been about.
I will admit that I plan on working on the pacing and giving chara more sweet moments so it doesn't come across as harsh -I don't want either sibling to be seen as a "villain" or """""abusive"""" as you call them. Except, yeah, Asriel is meant to be seen as an antagonist for a brief while, but that's set up Chara to come to that realization just the same as the audience should.
i hope this helped you understand what i was going for. if you wanna talk further I don't mind, but please talk to me as a real person. we're on the same page that abuse is bad. that people shouldn't treat each other so horribly. i don't excuse either of the character's interactions but i want to show empathy and understanding and that they can grow past that. i sincerely hope we can come to a shared perspective. if you wanna, i'd love to talk about i can make this message more clear, i'd love some proper criticism! i hope you have a lovely day and that you please be more considerate to how you to talk to others as I could have very easily read this anon hate/trolling.

Hey different anon here, i always thought floweys actions in the canon was supposed to be a kind of dark reflection of the players own actions, and a parallel with how WE treat video games. I never really thought it had anything to do with trauma, cause like think about it, how many players abuse save states in video games to get away with evil shit? Most of them i would wager, and if you had the power to save, load, and reset, maybe you WOULD start to treat even your own reality like a video game.
Like, is it wrong when flowey does these things when we do the same? Because to him its real but to us its just a game or is it ok for him to do so because it really IS a game.
And flowey DID say he also spared everyone, in the same sentence he said he killed everyone, implying both are things he doesnt really place value in doing, he didnt do it for fun, he did it because he got bored, and we do the exact same things in video games when we play one a bunch, we start to experiment, we start seeing how different "npcs" react to different situations, we start making challenges for ourselves, we start analyzing characters and putting way more thought into their actions then the person who wrote them probably did.
When flowey has that power taken away from him, only then does he start to change from this desensitizing and feel intense emotion like rage when you don't do what he wants, or fear when you're about to kill him, both are caused by him not being used to not being in control, he spent so long being the one who gets to "play" the world that he can't accept a world he's not the "player" in.
Another factor might be that not having a soul inhibits his ability to feel empathy, but thats just headcanon, sorry for this long tangent, i just really like flowey, favorite character in undertale, just wanted to express my thoughts since everyones talking about him.
I think from a metatextual level, Flowey 100% is meant to be a dark mirror of the player, which is likely why his full backstory is only given in geno, since at that point you're treading a similar path as him if you go all the way on that route. That being said, I don't think there's a lack of trauma. At the end of the day, the buttercup plan involved watching his best friend/sibling die, said sibling sharing control of his transformed body (which is implied to be VERY unsettling in appearance), his refusal to take a single SOUL, which led to his death, and then awakening in a new form, unable to connect to others the way he used to and assuming he was broken as a result of it. He did try to take his own life, after all, and only came back from it because he got scared and his determination brought him back. His power allowed him to avoid consequences and grow detached, of course, but there is absolutely room to read trauma as a PART of how he got to be this way. Not the sole factor, but a pretty significant one, especially if you interpret his loss of compassion as an undiagnosed PTSD symptom misunderstood due to toxic positivity culture among monsters. e.g. this idea that their souls are made of love, hope, and compassion and that makes them different/better than humans. Considering how many monsters force smiles to deal with their pain, I legit this mindset is super harmful to all monsters and they might not even realize it. Flowey is a great and complex character, and losing his abilities definitely also impacted his actions, for sure. I definitely am not a fan of the immense woobification of Asriel in the fandom, like, at all, and it's part of why this arc in IF is taking its time to do more character exploration and stuff since in UT, a lot of his depth is locked behind a route the game actively doesn't want you playing.

must be a nickname of sorts,
'cuz when paps is real serious, he'll say 'flowey'.
..which is to say, almost never.
that weed's got a big soft spot for papyrus.
and tori.
and despite the squabbles, i think he really cares about frisk, too.
——
"Undyne..."
"Let me-"
"I'm gonna make this jump by myself if it's the last thing I do!!"
"Y-you're losing all your lives.."
"I'm GONNA make it!"
she did not.
i'm already out myself, after undyne got pissed and threw me into a pit a few times.
now it's just alphys vs. the clock.
"GO, Alphy, GO!!"
——
"YEAAAAHHH!!!!"
i whispered, "(epic dub.)"
alphys slowly turned to me with a look of disgust.
"(You are... so cringe.)"
"(you're just jealous of my hip-ness. i'm totally epic.)"
"(Stop??)"
——
"Yo, Sans."
"Wanna have one with us before you leave?"
undyne shook a cup noodle.
"sure."
been a while since i had ramen for dinner, since paps usually cooks. stopped having them as often because they're not really substantial enough for me anymore.
oh, to go back to being a teen who could live off noodles forever.
——
sometime while we were eating, it really started coming down.
"When'd it start raining THIS hard?"
"You might have to stay here until it clears, Sans."
"if i pull my hood up i'll be fine getting home."
"Dude, no way we're letting you go out like that."
alphys squinted out the window.
"It's getting dark, too. You're not gonna be able to see a thing!"
they've got a point, but paps is gonna be worried.
——
"STAY RIGHT WHERE YOU ARE!!"
"ok"
"i am"
"did you get home before the rain?"
"NO, I'M AT MS. TORIEL'S."
"ANY IDEA WHEN IT'LL CLEAR?"
"looks like it might be all night."
"SO IT'S AN IMPROMPTU SLEEPOVER, NOW?"
"guess so"
"DO THEY HAVE SPARE BLANKETS AND WHATNOT FOR YOU TO USE?"
"lemme ask"
"ok"
"one pillow"
"but no sheets"
"THAT'S.. NOT GREAT."
"eh"
"good enough"
"how's it for you at tori's?"
"MS. TORIEL IS DEFINITELY ALWAYS PREPARED."
"HER COUCH IS QUITE COMFORTABLE!"
"BY THE"
"huh"
"SORRY. I HIT SEND TOO EARLY."
"I MEANT:
BY THE WAY, DID YOU EAT ALREADY?"
"cup noodles"
he took a long time to respond.
"HM."
"what"
"IS THAT REALLY NUTRITIONAL ENOUGH?"
"survived off the stuff before"
"AND YOU WERE ALWAYS TERRIBLY SHAKY, BEFORE."
"if that was all i'd eaten"
"....IS THAT ALL YOU'VE EATEN?"
"the cereal and coffee this morning"
"UGH."
"I AGREED TO CEREAL ON THE CONDITION THAT YOU HAD SOMETHING MORE SUBSTANTIAL LATER."
"corn flakes are substantial"
"NOT*"
"i'll lie"
"lice"
"libe"
"live"
"jeez"
"sorry"
"WHAT HAPPENED THERE??"
"fuzzy vision+hands stuff"
"WHAT."
"maybe i stared too hard at the screen or somethin"
"AND THE HANDS??"
"dunno"
"OKAY."
"THAT'S."
"I WAS RIGHT ABOUT YOUR POOR DIETARY CHOICES TODAY, THEN."
"I SEE YOU TYPING AND IF IT'S AT ALL REMINISCENT OF A 'IT'S FINE' I WANT YOU TO STOP."
"...REALLY?"
"OKAY. OKAY."
"SO YOU'RE:"
"RUNNING ON CAFFEINE, SUGAR, AND CARBS."
"SLEEPING WITH NO BLANKETS DURING A COLD RAINSTORM."
"SUFFERING VARIOUS HEALTH COMPLICATIONS."
"AND I'M... THERE FOR NONE OF IT."
"DON'T EVEN SAY IT."
"ok"
"bro?"
"you still there?"
"..HOLD ON. GIVE ME A MINUTE."
"what's going on?"
"....paps???"
——
oh my god.
really papyrus, what the hell?
now you're worrying 𝘮𝘦.
he marched through that storm out there just to bring me home?
"Not even an umbrella..?"
"I.. DIDN'T THINK ABOUT IT."
"HOLD ON, LET ME GO OUT AND GET A BIG ONE SO SANS-"
"Like hell you are!!"
"I HAVE TO TAKE SANS HOME!"
"you're soaked, paps..."
"A LITTLE RAIN CAN'T STOP THE GREAT PAPYRUS!"
——
the weather eventually let up enough for us to borrow umbrellas and walk home.
i'm still worried about him, though. he sat in those cold, soaked clothes for a while.
says he feels fine...
but he's been trembling a little since he came in.
"ONCE I WARM UP MORE, I'LL BE A-OKAY!"
——
"ISN'T IT TOO LATE FOR YOU TO BE WRITING ANY MORE? ESPECIALLY IF YOU'RE NOT FEELING GREAT!"
"paps, you are-"
"PLEASE GO TO BED. STOP WORRYING ABOUT ME!"
"i'm only going if you do."
"..ALRIGHT, FAIR ENOUGH. I'LL GO AS WELL."
"goodnight, bro."
"GOODNIGHT, SANS!!"
"throw on a couple more blankets tonight, ok? maybe put on a sweater."
"I DON'T NEED-"
he shivered.
"......."
"WILL DO."

YO, BET! Okay, so I headcannon that Clover, Flowey, and Kanako (something happened where she stopped being an amalgamation, tests amd stuff, and she became back alive) go on little adventures, like they are a version of the Feisty Five but just the three of them (The Gusty Three?). They will do some illegal stuff, but they're like the Feisty Five! Chara is like Ceroba with those three, though they will go with them sometimes (To make sure they don't die, again). Frisk tries to stay out of it, most of the time. Flowey also plays the drums and electric guitar, because why not. They annoy Frisk with it. He's actually very good at plating both as well. Also, I would like to think that Clover would "flirt" with either Flowey or Chara in a joking way (Flowey aro-ace here in my world boyyyssss) to annoy them.
Anyways, what would Flowey rate the monsters Clover faced during their journey? (Starlo, Dalv, Ceroba, Martlet, El Baildor, Decibat, Mo, Axis, Chujin, & Guardener) What did he think about the Wild East? Does Clover know the date Papyrus gave to Flowey as a birthday? If so, does Clover also celebrate it? (What's the date....I need to know) Also, what does Papyrus rank all the monsters (Undertale main + Blooky and Muffet) as well as Undertale Yellow's monsters (Above), and Clover, Chara, Frisk, and Integrity (I headcannon her as Clover's older sister, named Lilian or Lily)? What does Flowey think of Lily and Clover being siblings? (One murderous, the other pacifist) What does he think of Lily overall? Does Flowey regret (If Neutral is done before Pasifist) manipulating and killing Clover? Also, (this is a lot, sorry, I just have a lot of stuff for my boy Flowey) I saw a comic of Flowey and Dalv, Flowey reading one of Dalv's books and being himself (as in being his inner child-like self). Would Dalv allow Flowey to read his books, before publishing them, as well as letting him listen to his music?
(I LOVE FLOWEY AND DALV'S FRIENDSHIP, HONESTLY. GUY WHO IS QUIET WITH INSANE FLOWER ARE AMAZING! MY LITTLE FLOWER GUY!!!!!!! LOVE HIM!!!! I WILL PRAISE HIM TILL THE END OF TIME!!!! LET ME SEE HIM WITH CLOVER!!! THEIR FRIENDSHIP IS EVERYTHING TO ME!!!!!! LOVE MY FLOWER BOY!!! HERE'S THE MOON FOR YOU FLOWEY!!!! HAVE FUN!!! (P.s. sorry for the LONG ask))
i'll try to give satisfying answers, sorry if i forget any questions since i'll be answering in reverse order (you won't be able to tell though since i'll format it in order)
sorry for taking so long to answer but i just really wanted to try to draw them!
thought it'd be funny to make a physical tier list while in character as flowey, so i spent a couple minutes putting this together! i hope you enjoy! (hope you get the silly little gag here)
sadly no papyrus ranking because this is the flowey headcanons!!! we can't let papyrus invade our turf! (partially an excuse because i don't feel like making another version of this where the joke is like reversed or something. you could say... i'm not feeling up to it right now. *the crowd loudly applauds*)
flowey's probably just like: "huh, isn't that funny." because it'd be pretty wacky to see from his perspective. two siblings and they DON'T have the same opinions?? what is society falling to!!!! flowey "what do you mean your sibling didn't convince you monsters are all evil?" dreemurr
overall i think he probably wishes he cared enough about lily's story to try resetting to learn the lore, and possibly help her not die this time. not because he feels bad for her but because he really wonders what a timeline where lily gets to go on a rampage and live would look like. also just because he doesn't like axis.
tbh i don't think flowey would regret it, per se. or at least, he wouldn't let himself. he'd reason in his mind that they would've ruined the plan, gotten in the way, sabotaged it, etc. which is why it's fine they didn't know! he'd probably point at the pacifist route and say "see?? see?? that's what would've happened!!! they would've given up their soul to some random idiots and ruined everything!" probably just a little peeved that clover gave up when they were so close.
honestly the idea of dalv letting flowey read the books and embrace his inner child a bit is so wholesome... he may be 25 (hc uty age) but that doesn't mean he can't read a fun book. it also kinda reminds me of my headcanon that flowey is papyrus' little taste tester (sorry if like every friendship flowey has in my mind comes back to papyrus somehow) and like, he just gets to preread as a treat for being dalv's friend! if clover was still here they'd be like on the floor, criss-cross applesauce... oh my god i forgot dalv makes music!! i think after building up some confidence he'd probably let flowey listen to just a little bit and flowey would be like "turn up the JAMS!!! the music police are getting you for this BEAT!!"
heh, don't worry about the ask being too long! everytime you send me an ask i get to ramble a bit and it's nice!

Speaking of frisk how do you think their life was like before and how does them being the anomaly look from a in universe stand point did they just wake up with the power to control time are they being controlled by the player are they some kind of vessel similar to deltarune's
ohohooh, this is a good one. let's see:
hmm well, if we consider deltarune theorizing, i feel like the "in the grand scheme of things, [suzy] might be the reason you came here in the first place" + the deltarune legend ending by "banishing the angel (ie: us, probably)'s heaven + asriel explicitly raising the question of WHY frisk climbed the mountain, i have a theory that whatever happens at the end of deltarune will result in or at least explain how the events of undertale came to be. specifically, our involvement in the story
I don't think frisk is a simple vessel. nor do i think they are their own person in the sense that kris is. because on one hand we lack the player/PC conflict that we have in deltarune since what frisk does DURING the gameplay perfectly reflects our own decisions. if we do a pacifist, so does frisk. if we do a neutral so does frisk. if we kill they kill, if we spare they spare etc.
at the same time, however, we can't say that frisk is a pure self insert. while it's true that their actions and ours match, well, 1) them not being the fallen human we named at the start is basically the main plot twist of the game, 2) the fallen child being the narrator + the name on the SAVE file + flowey's speech to convince us not to reset all seem to imply that we play AS chara within the game (as in, that is our role in the story), and 3) the separation between player and frisk post pacifist is necessary for the game to pose the moral dilemma about resetting/using the SAVE power for the good of the characters, and not our entertainment.
as you can see, it's a very messy situation! the metatextual plot of undertale is nowhere near as clear and neat as the one in deltarune. the game plays in blurring the lines between YOU and the game, especially with the two PCs (frisk and "chara"/the fallen human)
as a consequence, seeing it from an in-univeree perspective gets tricky, because you can't remove our contribution to the story entirely (that would do a disservice to both the characters and the story undertale tells), but integrating it diagetically is really fucking hard.
overall, an interpretation i personally like to use for frisk's (and the other fallen humans)'s SAVE powers is this:
it's a byproduct of determination
they are unaware of it during their lives on the surface (no save file at the beginning of the game)
they only become capable of SAVEing once they fall in the underground, where they are the most determined being around
this would be a result of the barrier's magic isolating the underground from the rest of the world = other humans who also have determination
consequently, once returned to the surface, the SAVE power becomes unavailable once again. too many determined beings in the world.
this is why asriel and chara fell to the humans' attack.
does this mean time passed differently between the underground and the surface while the barrier was up? could be! that sounds fun.
us still being able to reset after breaking the barrier is explained through us, players, since by being real humans, not characters in the story, our determination overshadows everything else, barrier or no barrier.
absolutely nothing about this was secretly planned by toby fox, i am under no illusion of that fact. this is simply how i like to explain a necessary game mechanic that, while included within the story, ended up creating some complications in the worldbuilding.
hope this answers your question!

A Trip Down Nostalgia Lane
This AU's been in existence for so long, and the most current iteration is so wildly different from the rest. As such, I felt it'd be kinda cool to show you guys how the AU's progressed over the years. I don't think it's too big of a problem to reveal what the initial plans were for each iteration, what I liked and didn't like, and my thought process behind forgoing the old ones
If you don't particularly care for all that, here's the iterations' major characters lined up. (Iteration 4 I only have revealed Asriel and Undyne, so the rest I've designed so far are silhouetted)
Iteration 0.5
Oh boy, where to begin with this one...?
I number it "0.5" and not "1" because there were only two parts that never even officially released on this Tumblr blog. I did upload Part 1 for an April Fool's joke a while ago. But really, it was only ever present on the TS!Underswap Discord server over half a decade ago.
To put it bluntly, Versotale at this point was just a reskinned Undertale roleswap AU. The personalities, while I tried to keep them intact, were not the main driving force. As such:
Asriel is a silent protagonist (And not in a cool clever way like Kris; I mean just straight-up silent)
The only difference with Undyne as a narrator was noting that Frisk was a human at the first save point
Flowey had a more formal speech pattern but was otherwise barely affected despite carrying Chara's consciousness. They weren't even named Asthana yet.
Frisk... well, I can give my past self this, he certainly made an effort to differentiate Frisk from Toriel. I can't say he did a GOOD job at that, but they certainly were different. Awkward dialogue, though, and not much sense behind why they were the mayor of the Ruins at 13 years old
Overall, you can 100% tell I made this as a young teen. Awkward dialogue, barely any effort put into the concept, unoriginal...
It's pretty easy to see why I forewent this version of the AU. Only two parts were ever made. I must thank @beethovenus who gave me a lot of very helpful critiques, such as giving Asriel a voice and making original sprites rather than using sprite edits, as well as encouraging me to make this Tumblr blog for it. Thus, brings us to what I'd like to consider the first PROPER attempt at this AU...
Iteration 1
Ah, this one... this ALSO lasted only two parts. Can't remember why. But I made a lot more headway on this one. Quality aside, I am happy that I had the guts to try and make original sprites of my own back then, even if they aren't particularly good compared to now.
This was where I really attempted to make the characters act noticeably different. Though there were still quite a lot of problems, some that would even persist all the way up until Iteration 4.
I wanted to give Asriel a combination of his regular and Flowey personalities. A cool idea on paper, but the lore doesn't support him acting like that well enough. Thus, I refer to this version of him as Sassriel. This was one of those problems that persisted up until Iteration 3.
Undyne having this snarky back-and-forth with Sassriel. Again, cool idea on paper, but it is not supported by her personality in Undertale, nor the altered circumstances in VT Iteration 1. Also, with Undyne being a disembodied consciousness, it means she's merely an observer of the story and not an active participant, meaning her dialogue got very boring very fast. Undyne in canon was always an active character, so putting her in a role that basically FORCED her to be a passive character was maybe one of the worst decisions I could've made that lasted way too long, all the way until Iteration 4.
You'll notice a whole bunch of characters that never actually saw the light of day in the comic. In the bottom row, starting from left to right, there would have been Pepper (Who DID have a design but I've lost it), Donavan, Dr. Aakil, Lily, and Queen Alice. There's not much to say about them story-wise since I mainly just got the designs down, and you can probably guess what the plot was gonna be like given this was the early days of the AU where it was still very much following the Undertale formula. I think the only UNIQUE things I should mention are that Aakil's version of the amalgamates would've been cyborgs.
Iteration 2
This is the one that's lasted the longest (so far), managing to push its way into the Cold West. I tried to break out of the Undertale formula a tiny bit with this one, to varying degrees of success. There's not much history I can recall or find with this iteration, but I suppose I can give a character rundown of the ones you never saw, ironically enough all positioned on the bottom row again.
Donavan... not very unique compared to Undyne. The main gimmick that separated him from her, I think, was that he had gloves designed by Aakil that were soul-powered.
Valencia... a new character who was meant to be an expanded version of Napstablook's role. Fun fact: Valencia's hooded trenchcoat design there was originally Pepper's Iteration 1 design.
Everyone else was... about what you'd expect.
Looking back on this version, I am... honestly very embarrassed by how badly I butchered the Cold West. I wanted to do so many cool things, like a bounty on Asriel's head and all. But my God... Spade and Pepper sucked so much. Especially Pepper. For characters who at this point were meant to be this AU's replacement of Sans and Papyrus... what poor substitutes.
And honestly, I think that's why I scrapped this one; because I hated the Cold West and how I did it. It felt rushed, awkwardly-written, bad characterization, horrifically-bad puzzles, etc. Thus, Iteration 3 was made.
Iteration 3: Hybrid
I nicknamed this short-lived one "Hybrid" for multiple reasons.
It's where Deltarune became an extremely prevalent influence in Versotale's universe. So no longer is Versotale just an Undertale AU, it can also be considered a Deltarune AU as well.
Many characters could be considered hybrids at this point. Asriel and Undyne shared determination and a body. And, more interestingly, the Mettaton role also shared a body with Mettaton. More about that in a bit
When I was making Part 10-B of Iteration 2, Iteration 3 was meant to flow naturally into it, effectively replacing all of what had came beforehand. That never worked out.
Ultimately, I abandoned this version because it just simply wasn't doing it for me. By this point, the project was beginning to feel stale and boring. Despite my attempts to make a new unique storyline, it just kinda... felt like it was still following in Undertale's footsteps far too much. I mean, you've got the protagonist kid, an old fallen member of their species, the double-crossing flower, a mentor who's lived in a secluded area all their life, a chef who wants to join the guard, a tough grizzled guard captain, a morally-dubious scientist, a celebrity, a monarch... you see how I became dislliusioned with the quality of what was supposed to be my "Unique Undertale storyline." The most unique thing at this point WAS probably Spade. But still, many elements of this version of the story were very fleshed-out. I tried to turn Pepper into a character who wasn't just a bargain-bin Papyrus clone, I had come up with a more unique Hotland area, and it probably could've turned out really nice.
I think the thing I genuinely really liked from this old version was that Shella (This iteration's celebrity character) actually was also possessed by Mettaton. There was this huge backstory thing where the scientist character had monster dust and was injecting humans with it, and since Mettaton was a ghost, his consciousness became attached to Shella's and served as her sort of "assistant." He gave her all the tips and confidence to become famous and gave Mettaton the opportunity to indirectly entertain humans like he always wanted. While a cool idea on paper, having... well, essentially Mettaton technically in the same place as canon Undertale again just felt cheap and lazy. Not to mention it only continued my disillusionment with my "unique story" being far too similar to Undertale for comfort.
But the Surface shenanigans this iteration... man, for as weird as Gaster being king was, I had such a cool thing planned for all the Ebottobia characters. It's something I wanna carry over into Iteration 4 to a certain extent.
Iteration 4: "King Asriel"
This one's really freaking cool. Going back to the drawing board completely, the story resembles almost nothing like Undertale's, with the sole exception of the main premise: People underground, free them from imprisonment through peace or violence.
I'm so proud of these ideas so far, you have no idea. The new Ruins area I'm excited for, the new Cold West feels like an actual proper flowing storyline now, the other areas have way more uniqueness, the characters feel like their own characters with their own stories now (Even the ones that appear in canon), the plot feels completely different... I think you all are really going to like it
That's all. Just felt like taking a trip down memory lane and share some ideas and designs the public never got to see.

Random's Lore Drops - dang that flower fell off-
Howdy hey, it's your ol' pal Random here, to teach ya about... yer only pal in the Underfell's Underground, Flowey! Because Papyrus definitely isn't your friend. Now them, here's a photo (from the same picture that I got the frisk photo from, because i can't find a good one where he's alone).
So yeah, we'll be talking about this fella. Unfortunately, there's not much, both in Fella's Tumblr, and the somewhat reliable canonfell wiki that I use, so this'll be short.
So, Flowey... He's REALLY not got a lot I can tell yall, tbh. Seriously, not only is Vicky's blog lacking flower lore when you first try to find stuff about him, but even the FUCKING CANONFELL wiki lacks info about him. really says a lot about our community tbh. Anyways, onto the LORE. As you can CLEARLY see, Flowey's in a pot. Actually, nvm, you can't see it. Lemme get a different image for y'all to see. Now, before you see it, letting you know rn that this image is one I found on the canonfell wiki (but most definitely is Fella's art)
Anyways, as you can CLEARLY see now, Flowey's in a pot. And, if you've read my previous post, you'll know this dude, no matter what happens, if he gets launched out of his pot, he'll fall right back in with ease thanks to Frisk. Now, you'll prolly never be able to tell but, there's PROBABLY a box cutter inside of his pot. Why? Well, self-defense of course. He also fears every monster ever (reasonable), which presumably means that, unlike in normal Undertale, he does NOT befriend Papyrus. He's also apparently not AS innocent as a wilting flower that's been beaten to death and fears every Monster would be expected to be, because SURELY a sentient flower that's gone through all that is just a silly lil guy, right? (that's sarcasm if you couldn't tell). Based on info I got from the Canonfell Wiki (sorry but I'm NOT planning on scrolling through fucking MILLIONS of posts to find lore for Flowey), in the Betrayal route (Underfell's Geno route), the person that's killing is actually Flowey, who forces Frisk to do such by wrapping vines around their arm to the point of bruising (and even bleeding by using thorny vines) to get them to kill, doing the job himself if they refuse to. Oh yeah, he doesn't even trust Toriel at all (i'll explain the equivalent of the kill or be killed philosophy that's different about Toriel in her post to explain why he's scared of her) that's about all i have for this post. uhhhh k bye lol
#random's lore drops#undertale#utdr#flowey the flower#i wrote these tags before I finished even the intro so i have nothing to say here#i will not put the underfell tag because i'm a coward#I'M NOT GONNA CUE THIS ONE RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH

*Flowey mutters, feeling mighty embarrassed now about his favorite stories being fairy tales. Every else sounds so cool!He mutters his answer so people can barely hear.* I like James and the tomato stalk…
*He speaks louder and with more excitement now that that’s over with, adding onto it to make himself sound cooler.*
Uh, but I gotta agree with 1984! The torture scenes are so good. And the inner party has so much power over everyone else! That would have been so perfect to try out in one of my runs while I had the resets, but I imagine it'd need to take years to get to that point. I don't have that patience.
*He glances at Chara for a moment, then back to Kara. He might take up their offer to leave and talk about his their interests.* Hey, Kara? Do you know how much time do we have left before we resume? I wasn't to know if I have enough time for something.
(Kara) "Flowey, your favorite book sounds amazing! I mean technically Harry Potter's a fairy tale just made by a jackass! Anyways this should start in 10 minutes! We have time for whatever you have."
(Noelle) "Hey, Chara. Want to go on a quick walk!"
(Chara) "Why?"
(Noelle) "I think we should really take a walk Chara! *Whispered* To get away from them for a second."
(Chara) "Ah, okay! We're going on a quick walk!"
(Noelle) "*They walk out fast and Chara and Noelle are alone* Will you ever tell them the secret?"
(Chara) "My real question is, why haven't you? If it's because you feel bad about hurting Flowey..."
(Noelle) "No, it's something I can't trust you or anyone with."
(Chara) "Come on, I promise not to tell!"
(Noelle) "A promise like that isn't worth making."
(Chara) "Please! It's been nagging at me for years!"
(Noelle) "I've only been here a couple months."
(Chara) "Well, it felt like a year. I swear on Asriel's soul I won't tell anyone."
(Noelle) "You mean that?"
(Chara) "There are very few people I love more than Asriel. Of course, I mean it."
(Noelle) "Alright, I want to trap humans under a barrier."
(Chara) "What?"
(Noelle) "I've learned after seeing the atrocities committed by Clover that humans and monsters can't coexist. I wanted them to and tried my best but it didn't work. I knew the original barrier wouldn't work because humans hate everyone. So I thought to give the humans a piece of their own medicine with a few exceptions. Kara can stay since they're half both and deserve to be friends with Flowey. I could never tell them I'm Noelle because I'd rather they think I was dead than this."
(Chara) "What the fuck?!"
(Noelle) "That's all I'm saying right now."
(Chara) "No. That's not all you're saying. You can't just tell me you want to segregate humans and monsters, in the end. You've opened Pandora's box!"
(Noelle) "*Laughs a bit* Once I tell you how I'll achieve my goal, I'll never achieve my goal. ;). Now let's go back to Kara and Flowey. Oh and if you tell anyone about this, I'll kill you. Now let's go."
(Chara) "Fine. *Grabs Noelle's hand and tightens their grip until Noelle is in such pain she almost screams. They whispered* Because I put this on Asriel I'm not going to tell anyone but don't threaten me. I never promised not to kill you."
(Noelle) "Let go!"
(Chara) "No, let's just stay here a bit. *Makes sure no one's around and bites down hard on Noelle. They let her bleed out for a full minute. While this is happening Noelle can only stay in horror pleading with them to stop the pain. It hurts like a stab wound and almost gets infected.
(Noelle) "Please you made your point just stop it."
(Chara) "Did I make my point? I'm not so sure yet. You know for times like this I get some salt. *Grabs it and puts it right on the wound.* Do you like that?"
(Noelle) "I'll do whatever you want just stop this torture or I'll tell Kara!"
(Chara) "I'll tell them about your little plan then."
(Noelle) "You swore not to."
(Chara) "Asriel believes that I should've lived. He made me promise him that I'd never die for something stupid a long time ago. *Bites again.* If you're threatening me, you must be pretty stupid. *She starts to cry but Chara punches her until they stop. Then they whisper their final warning* Don't fuck with me. Now, let's get back to that court room. Oh and here's a butts pie. *Forcefedd it down her throat.* Now no one will know. Right, Noelle?"
(Noelle) "No one will know. *They walk back into the room. There is still 5 minutes left.*"

Doomsday Duo: The Beginning
Flowey pov:
So I was just burrowing around thinking this little plan of mine was soooooo smart.
Then, I realized my horrible mistake.
In a panic, I approached the only living person nearby - and it happened to be him.
that idiotic extremely lazy skeleton I absolutely hate.
I had to ask him for help, I had no other option.
"Um, hey...?"
He looked at me briefly and then closed his eyes again.
"Enough of this! So that's how we are going to play it now, huh? Wake up and face the reality, sleepy!"
Sans finally decided to stand and look me in the eyes, but his glare sent a cold shiver down my spine, and I felt a sense of deja vu.
"What is it that YOU of all people want from? what, you wanna fight AGAIN?" he said, in a cold tone that gave me more goosebumps than anger
I stared momentarily and then said to myself, 'Pull yourself together, Flowey. It's not that bad.' I took a deep breath before continuing, "Frisk is on their way to kill us all, and I need your help. We need to work together, like a tag team. Can you help me?"
Sans glared at me before bursting into laughter. I muttered to myself, "Pathetic."
He wiped a single teardrop from his eye, but the moment he laid eyes on my stern expression, his laughter subsided. "Oh, you're serious?" he said, a look of concern crossing his face. "I'm sorry, I didn't know." I silenced him with a shush and spoke with a firm tone, "Listen to me for once! Look me in the eyes and tell me how serious I am!" Sans met my gaze and held it for a moment, but then broke into another fit of laughter. "You're a flower, how am I supposed to take you seriously?" he managed to say, wiping tears from the corners of his eyes.
Feeling disheartened and frustrated, I turned to walk away, my mind foggy with disappointment. Sans' lack of interest in helping me had been all too apparent, but I couldn't help but feel a twinge of hope that he might have been able to offer some assistance. As I began to move away, I heard him call out to me, his voice laced with amusement. "Can't take a joke?" he said, his smirk evident in his tone. Irritated by his mocking attitude, I turned back to face him, my eyes narrowing as I glared at him. A creepy smile spread across my face as I replied, "You're the joke here!" I could feel the anger bubbling up inside of me, and for a moment, I almost thought I might lash out at him. But instead, I simply turned and walked away, determined not to let his negative energy spoil my day.
Sans regarded me with a perplexed expression, and I felt a twinge of indignation. My initial impulse was to disappear once again, but he dismissed my intention with a scoff and said, "Fine, I'll listen to what you have to say." A glimmer of hope stirred within me, and I asked eagerly, "Really?" He simply nodded in response, and I felt a rush of gratitude."Excellent," I began. "We're all in grave danger, and I was hoping you'd be willing to help me. Based on our past encounters, I believe that with our combined abilities, we might just be able to save everyone." I could feel my pulse quicken with anticipation. Suddenly, he interrupted me with a sharp "ahem," as if to indicate his annoyance. "Wait a minute," he said, his tone now tinged with suspicion. "I have a problem with this plan. Did you encourage Frisk to attempt to kill us all?" His penetrating gaze bore into me, and I felt my cheeks flush with shame."U-UH... noooo...? Okay, maybe," I stammered, feeling a sense of guilt wash over me.
Sans looked at me with suspicion and said, "Okay, that settles it. What did you say about this situation?"I stared back at him coldly, knowing that he wasn't going to like what I was about to say. "Well, I gave a speech. 'LET'S TURN THEM ALL TO DUST'... haha...?" I said with a nervous laugh, hoping to ease the tension. Sans let out a long sigh, clearly disappointed. "And just now, did it occur to you that they were planning to kill EVERYONE, including you? No survivors at all?" he asked with a hint of anger in his voice. Feeling ashamed, I lowered my head and my petals went a bit darker. "Yes, I didn't think about the consequences of my words. I was just trying to be brave and inspire others to fight back," I replied, trying to justify my actions. Sans shook his head in disbelief. "You need to think before you speak, especially in situations like this. We can't afford to make mistakes like that," he said, trying to teach me a lesson.I nodded in agreement, realizing the gravity of the situation. We were facing a grave danger, and we needed to be careful with our words and actions if we were going to survive.
My voice strained with panic as I directed my words at Sans, "Well, it's too late now! They're almost here, and we have to come up with a plan!" I could feel my heartbeat racing as I tried to calm myself down. Sans let out a deep sigh, "I see. So, you said something about combining our powers earlier?" I nodded, "Yes, that's right. If we combine our powers, then we may be able to stop them." Sans looked at me with a serious expression, "Are you sure you want to do this? It's a risky move." I swallowed hard, but then I lifted my head up with newfound determination. "I know it's risky, but we don't have any other options. It's either this or we let them win." Sans nodded in agreement, "Alright then. Let's do this." With a renewed sense of confidence, I took a deep breath and prepared to combine our powers. I knew that it was going to be a tough fight, but I was ready to give it my all.

Deeply amused that the parasites are initially presented as a terrible and creepy threat who have taken over literally every other monster in the Underground in a sort of radical zombie apocalypse, yet when they're trying to take over Papyrus and he makes a number of demands, their response is 'we literally cannot say no or We Will Die. You're seeking a way to separate your brother from one of our own, which may result in said parasite dying, but we still have No Choice But To Agree.' It's a tragic situation that Fly and his brother were brought to this point to begin with but it's very morbidly humorous to me.
Yeah, I mean. They're my own parasites I get to say what they can and can't do. I say that they're weak lil bitches when confronted with two chronic insomniacs. Lucky for them the people they couldn't manage to possess Also aren't. You know. Insane people who want to kill everyone who's possessed.
These parasites take over through a calculated attack. They communicate to get the exact number of people they need to possess and plan who should be infected first by observing the patterns of intended targets for a short time. They likely figured everyone but those two guys who will have to sleep eventually is fine.
Mostly I chose this powerset because it was needed for the story I wanted to tell and the outcome I wanted. Also because I wanted to differentiate them from canon Fresh who I don't think has any restrictions to who they can possess. Human, monster, asleep, awake, willing, not. Don't think it's ever been stated who they can't possess, excluding soulless people.
Someone on deviantart mentioned Flowey hiding and you know what. That's fair. Flowey probably is losing his mind. Then again I set this pre-canon by a good while (Papyrus isn't wearing his battle body which is at least two weeks old). So you could just interpret it as him not having woken up yet, or not having been made. If he just isn't awake yet. Man. He's going to be real confused about his parents huh gbdsjkgdbsjgkdsfbk
But anyways.
Papyrus is just really cool and powerful and even though we all know he would never kill them it's a better chance for everyone else if they let him fuck off into the multiverse hoping the parasite will kill him by letting it feed off of him for long enough (another thing specific to this parasite is that essentially the parasites can live the entire lifespan of that monster in the same body as long as they don't put unnecessary strain on the soul - like traveling the multiverse - the opposite is implied to be true for the OG Fresh, where the possessed person will probably die sooner or later. Spoilers though, I am making the parasite and Papyrus become friends. Not in this comic, just, that's how it goes after the fact. CQ once stated that the more Fresh possesses one person the more it can feel (not sure if that still applies) so I'm going to have the same apply here, but them communicating through Papyrus' soul will definitely make that worse/speed it up. So they're besties. Wouldn't be the first time Papyrus has befriended a soulless creature.)

Hello again pal! Have a request for today. Can I have the UT cast for a walk in the park with a s/o. (except flowey, he has friend) And what would happen there?
Undertale Sans - He's happy to have some alone time with his S/O. It's a nice day, you're sitting in the grass, there is good sunlight, it's warm, it's c... it's cozy, it's far too comfortable and in twenty seconds, Sans is dead, hands and legs spread like a seastar and he is snoring. You regret you didn't invit Papyrus, because now, it's going to be quite boring. You ditch him the second you see Undyne in the distance to go hang with her. When you come back one hour later, he has not move. Yes, you'll have to carry him home.
Undertale Papyrus - He prepared everything and planned all what you are going to do. It starts with a nice lunch under a big tree, then some swimming in the lake, then some running, then some badminton, and then some walking, and then... You eat lunch, it was nice. And then it starts raining and all his plans are ruined and Papyrus is unconsolable. He is stubborn too and he is refusing to leave. You are waiting above a big tree while he goes to swim in the lake despite everything. Maybe you should call Sans to help you reason him, because he will do all of his activities with or without you, and regret it the next day with a bad fever. He doesn't know when to stop.
Undertale Toriel - It's mostly a chill day. Toriel wants to know more about the Surface birds so you bought this birds encyclopedia and you're trying to find what species you can find in the park and where they are doing their nests. You end the day sitting on the grass, eating ice cream, while Toriel is hyping over all her new discoveries, then you head home for diner.
Undertale Asgore - He would love to just enjoy the sun and swim in the lake, but he's not really an unknown person. Everyone, humans and monsters, knows his face. If monsters noticed you and quickly left you two some space, humans won't stop bothering you to have pictures or talk about human-monster politics. One random guy even stalked you for two hours before insulting you and leave. You went for a quick ice cream then left to relax in his garden instead, so you two can finally have some privacy.
Undertale Undyne - I hope you love to run because she's here to train with you. You can't stop her. She's running through the park, jumping fences, throwing spears at random children that she asks to attack her, and then she won't stop swimming alll the length of the lake at full speed, creating huge waves. You gave up in the middle of the training to take a nap in the sun, that's too much for you.
Undertale Alphys - You had to argue to force her to leave her phone at home. But without her phone, Alphys can't relax. She's clawing the ground nervously next to you, jump when a child runs near you and she's scared of water and won't follow you in even if you say you will hold her. So you pass plan B and takes out your Mewmew cosplay and just start roleplaying. Now, she is much more into this and she finally relaxes a little. You end up doing a photoshoot near the lake and the both of you are having fun.
Undertale Frisk - Like Asgore, they're a celebrity, and everyone wants to flirt with them. Frisk is gently trying to explain they're not alone, but humans still don't get it and keep insisting. So Frisk decides to just ignore them and join you in the water, before kissing you full mouth. You can hear a lot of disappointment in the public, but eh, it's working, everyone finally minds their own business and you can swim and hug with them.
Undertale Chara - Chara hates nature trips. They think it's so dumb and boring, but they agree for a lunch. After that, you tried to lure them into running, but that doesn't work. Chara looks at you, upset you didn't listen when they specifically told you they didn't want to do that, takes a book out and starts reading, ignoring you. You leave them alone to have fun. Chara is fine like that.
Undertale Mettaton - He can't resist the call of his fans and ditches you to sign autographs. That's not how you imagined this trip to go, but it's happening anyways, so deal with it. You leaves him have his fun and you go to pet all the dogs walking in the park. It seems like a fun activity.
Undertale Gaster - He's nervous. Everyone is looking at him, because, you know, he's goopy and all. He doesn't feel very comfortable and sun is not really good for him. You both discovered it since he is melting like ice cream on the ground and starts panicking because he can't stop it. You try to help, but he absorbs your hands and now you are stuck on your knees, your hands inside of Gaster, as he's trying to apologize again and again.
Undertale Grillby - You can't believe it. You managed to drag him outside of his bar for one day, but he still put his suit on because he felt naked in a T-shirt. Other than that, Grillby is enjoying the day, walking and relaxing in the sun, and he won't stop to cuddling you, except when some children came to ask you how you can hug fire without burning and then tried for two hours to touch your boyfriend when he lowered his guard.
Undertale Muffet - Muffet is never going alone. She brought all her family with her. When people saw tarentulas running everywhere in the park, everyone left. You have everything just for you, even the ice cream man because Muffet tied him up in a web to make sure he doesn't run away. You're having fun playing with little spiders and climbing in trees. You even have the water for yourself because spiders are scared of water.
Undertale Burgerpants - He wasn't very enthusiastic about this at first, but spending time with you is never failing to make him happy. You spend a lazy afternoon lying in the sun, cuddling and kissing, doing some selfies, eating ice cream, and then you decided to go see a movie in the nearest movie theater, and eat in a restaurant. It's a nice day !
