Knighton (Grindstead)
"Oh, and I'm gonna graduate from the Knight's Academy tomorrow to be a full-fledge knight!" An energetic young man, Aaron Fox, said to his family members, "Ooh man! I can't wait to show off my marking skill! You guys should also see how I'm gonna shoot my target tomorrow!"
"Really?!" One of the younger brother of Aaron said, eyes full of sparkle as he admire his older brother.
"Mom, mom! Can we see Aaron in his graduation ceremony tomorrow!" Another one of his younger brother said, begging their mother to bring them to his graduation.
"Sorry honey, but we're gonna be very busy tomorrow to show up at Aaron's graduation," Aaron's mother said, then she look at Aaron with concern face, "We're very sorry to not make it, Aaron.."
"It's okay, ma! I don't mind!" Aaron reassuring his mother, as he company his other younger siblings to watch a tv, "Besides, my graduation will come up on the live show from what I heard. The teachs' said it's gonna be more important and special for our graduation!"
"Woah! So we're gonna see you on this screen box?" One of his younger sibling said.
"Heck yeah my dude! I'm gonna pop out of that tv to get you!" Aaron exclaimed, as he jokingly try to tickle his brother.
"Hahaha! Stop! Aaron stop!"
"Hahahaha, I can't wait for tomorrow!"
"Save all of that energy for tomorrow then Aaron," his father said, finally say something from all of their talk, "You're gonna make a big performance on your graduation after all.."
"Yup, I will. Don't mind me pops." Just as Aaron said that, he stands up and finally done messing with his siblings to get to his room.
His headphone is still on his head as he ready to listen to the last music before going to bed, the music stop. He was confused on that, then he think it might be disconnected from his Nexo Phone. He found his phone and open it, only to see a song that he never save for.
"Untitled?" Weird song name and also blank cover... That's weird... Aaron look around his room, and also making sure his door is already close, and no one is taking a peak at all.
"I guess there's nothing wrong to listen to it, right?"
Just as he press the song to play it, suddenly a bright light appear blinding Aaron until it cover him.

???
"Hey, MEIKO!"
"Hello, Len."
Kagamine Len, the 02 Vocaloid, the other half of Kagamine, the other half of 02, greeted the cafe owner, MEIKO, the original Vocaloid and the first female Vocaloid.
"So, what can I get for you today? Or do you want to get your leftover ice cream before the big monster ice cream man came over to get it?" MEIKO jokingly said on the part about big monster ice cream man.
Len pout, "Fat chance his gonna get my third ice cream! Didn't he already ate too much yesterday?"
"Well, you know how he. An ice cream lover, always an ice cream lover." MEIKO said.
Len sigh, "Worth a shot then," Len said, "Anyway, I'll have the usual as always."
"Usual as always it is," MEIKO said, finally have a job to do as she started to make a drink for Len.
"So, did you get the boys yet?" MEIKO said.
"No... Everytime I tried to tell them or bring them here, it always either their phone were in the bag, or it got died off..." Len said, "Agh! It's even harder than I thought!"
"C'mon, don't beat yourself for it." MEIKO said, she has done his drink and give it to him, "I believe you will get one of them one day."
"Yeah, one day—"
Just before Len could drink his coffee, suddenly a bright light appear in front of him and MEIKO. Len quickly cover his eyes but also takes a peak on who get here, MEIKO try to handle the bright light but still cover half of her eyes from it.
The bright light suddenly faded, as both Vocaloids slowly uncover their eyes, what they see is not what they were expecting. They were expecting Kohane, An, Akito or heck, even Toya. But there's none of them.
Standing in front of them is a ginger, a male figure, wears a headphone and also a weird clothing that might not look so casual on their behalf.
The young man take a look around at his surrounding and he was in awestruck, "Woah, this place looks so amazing..." He said.
Then finally the young man took a notice at the two Vocaloids, "Woah! Hey there! Nice house you've got here!"
"Uh, this is not a house–"
"Oh! Then a workshop?"
"Uh..." Len doesn't know how to answer as he glance at MEIKO, the adult and the owner of this cafe.
MEIKO sigh, and look over at the man in front of her, "Hello there, um, young man. My name is MEIKO and this kid–"
"MEIKO!"
"–Is Kagamine Len." MEIKO introduce herself and Len, "You are in my cafe, young man. While I appreciate you thought this is my house, if this is were my house, all the people in here already clean their dishes."
"Don't worry Len, I was just joking," MEIKO said, giggle at the young vocaloid's expression.
"Ack— MEIKO..." Len said, sulking over at the cafe owner.
Len still sulking, not convincing the cafe owner's word, the young man notice the atmosphere between the two Vocaloids and an idea came up on his mind. He walk towards Len, and tackle him, "Hey, don't be upset lil' man!"
"W-what are you–!?"
"Just like the lady said! She was only joking!" The young man said, a smile on his face, his face does remind Len of a fox and a certain blue hair vocaloid, "You do remind me of my younger siblings you know? When our ma always attack us verbally with her words, it always does work but we know it just a joke. One time she did that to me, I did feel a bit attacked by it but my siblings are all there reminding me that all I did might be my fault but my fault always come to a success!"
Len and MEIKO were confused by the young man's words. The young man then feel like he remember something, "Ah, right! My name is Aaron Fox! Nice to meet you both!" He said, Aaron Fox.
Aaron Fox, sounds like a foreign name... MEIKO can't help but feel a bit deja Vu with Aaron. Len however, look at Aaron with an adoration and admiration in his eyes. Huh, what do you know? Guess you can easily admire someone you just met huh?
MEIKO sigh is exhausted but felt a bit relief with how this man does not technically harm any of them. Before she could say anything, Aaron beat her to it by gasping at the window.
"Woah! This place...!" And just by that sentences, Aaron quickly go to the front door of the cafe and go outside. Both MEIKO and Aaron took that cue to chase Aaron, making sure he is not planning to lost himself in the Street Sekai.
Meanwhile, Aaron Fox is walking around and was amaze by all the colourful streets he is at. This place is nothing like Grindstead! Or any places that are in Knighton!
Just as Aaron planning to go around the street more, he heard a music. That music sound so...
Aaron follow the music and just as he suspect, the sound is a music but it was coming from the speaker with a teenage girl with green hair. He didn't say or interrupt the green hair girl, as she continue her break dance.
The dance move was so amazing, so awesome and it Aaron so interested that he couldn't help himself but follow the song beat. And just as he have more energy in himself, he quickly go over to the green hair girl.
The music is still ongoing but there's no stopping Aaron Fox as long as he heard the music. He also make a break dance but his own style of break dance, the green hair girl seems to be surprised by the sudden of the young man. But just like him, there's seems to be no stopping her as well from dancing.
Now, their break dance started from looks like they're fighting, to cooperate dancer, to finally doing the dance together. When the music finally reach its end of the song, Aaron makes one more final trick of his freestyle dance move. He goes over to the lamp pole and walk on it using his legs, shocking the green hair girl. Finally reaching where he is planning, he then slide down and let of the lamp pole to land on the ground.
Finally the music stop. Aaron was exhausted, man, this is the first time he use too much energy he had left but worth a shot!
He then hear a slow clap, he look over at the green girl, the one who makes the slow clap, "Woah, just... Woah..." The green hair girl said and finally let out a grin, "That was the best dance move I've ever seen! Well, it was kinda risky when you walk on that lamp pole though..."
"Aw, don't worry! "Risk" is my middle name!" Aaron said with a confident tone he always has.
"Really, huh?" The green hair girl teasingly said, "Well, gotta say, nice move you got there mister..."
"Fox, Aaron Fox! But I would be more preferably you call me Aaron!" Aaron said as he hold up his right hand for a shake. The green hair girl notice it and shake his hand as well.
"Cool name, the name Hatsune Miku." The green hair girl, Hatsune Miku, said.
"Aw, thanks lad! And nice jacket you've got there!" Aaron said, he then take a look around one last time, "This place seems more so comfortable and amazing than my village..."
Village? Miku thought, what does he mean by that? His clothing is weird but considering his name is not the same as Japanese citizens, she can guess he is a foreigner...
But how can he get in here?
"If you do find this place more comfortable, it's not too bad at all to visit, right?" Miku suggest it.
Aaron quickly turn to Miku, with excitement and surprised expression, "Really, I can?!"
Miku nodded, "Sure, besides the hosts of this Sekai haven't arrived nor discovered this Sekai yet."
Huh? "Sekai? What is that?" Aaron ask.
"Oh? You don't know?" Miku was taken back by that a little, but back to her explain the Sekai to her new friend, "Sekai means "world". You are currently in Streets Sekai. This Sekai was created by the feelings of the host of this Sekai. Or in my case, the hosts of this Sekai."
"Hosts?" Aaron said, he get the meaning of Sekai now but the host part is a bit confusing.
"There's a different kind of Sekai with a different host. This Sekai was created by the feelings of different people that are combine it together to create the Street Sekai. But some Sekai can also have one host if that said host have the strongest feeling than the others." Miku explain.
"Ah, that makes a total sense now..." Aaron said, then his mind back to how he got here. He pulled out his Nexo Phone, the screen shows the music "Untitled" was playing.
"To get out of here, you can press the play button again to pause it. Then you can finally leave this place." Miku said, as she notice Aaron brought out his phone, she then look at Aaron again, "But it seems like you could also come in this Sekai. If by any chance, you could come here again? I can introduce you to the hosts of this Sekai when they arrived!"
"That sounds awesome!" Aaron said, "If I ever visiting again by any chance, makes sure those people prepare for upcoming surprise visit!"
"Hehe, yeah, I'll make sure of it!" Miku grinned.
"Heh, see ya later, Miku!" Aaron said as he makes a peace sign, he press the play button of the song and the bright light surround him.
As the light faded, Miku sees no one in front of her now. She look around again, making sure who she met is really an outsider... She is wondering how can someone outside of the people who created this Sekai can enter here... Unless he also create it as well but still...
It doesn't make any sense–
"Miku!"
Miku quickly turn around and saw MEIKO and Len, "MEIKO, Len. What's up?"
"Have you seen a young man?"
"Huh?"
"A man, with a ginger hair, and his weird clothing style but you can tell he definitely go the green theme!" Len describe the person he said.
Miku's mind goes back to Aaron, "Ah, he left already." After she said that, MEIKO and Len were surprised and panicking, "Hey, don't worry. I'm sure he will be back!"
"Miku..." MEIKO said so suddenly.
Miku hummed in response as MEIKO continue, "Do you know how Aaron get in?"
Miku sigh, "I'm not sure," as Miku said that, he look back at where Aaron used to stand, "But I do have to admit, this new adventure we're gonna have, does light up a bit of spark in me."

rambles beneath the cut because storygraph adds rereads to your yearly goal count and I'm the one person who wishes I could turn off that featureeee. I could journal these thoughts on the app but they'd be part of my first read and ew, no thanks.
I FINALLY got around to rereading the Charlotte Holmes books, one of my absolute favorite series that I just happen to...not talk about. Not here and not on my booksta.
So. In the spirit of blogging more, why not chat here!!
Firstly, this will be a later updated post because I've only reread books 1-2 and will tackle 3-4 later this year. Also, I first read these books before my frontal lobe developed and that's...is it weird that I miss the girl I was before 2019???
Anyway, my first read was strictly audio and my reread is a hybrid with heavy emphasis on audio.
A STUDY IN CHARLOTTE
Rating then, 4 stars (because Goodreads is half star-phobic)
Rating now, 4.25/4.5 stars (I can't really decide, also I decided not to change my ratings on Storygraph because I don't want to change every single rating I make for every book I reread.)
I love Jamie and Charlotte now as I loved them then. Back when I was closer to their age, Jamie was 100% my choice of book boyfriend in a world where I loved many book boy characters but didn't consider them 'book boyfriends' lol.
But I missed being in Jamie's head, how melodramatic he can be, funny without ever trying to be, his relationship with Holmes, being just as annoyed with his father as he is (I can't remember at the moment if I ever grew to like James Sr. in the end..)
THE LAST OF AUGUST
Rating then, 4 enthusiastic stars + a review that commented on how I couldn't understand why the 2nd book was the lowest rated one in the series
Rating now, 4 less enthusiastic, more so jaded stars (plus, if the book ended around chapter 7 we'd be looking at 3.5 stars.)
Maybe we chalk this up to age, but this book was a lot more angsty than I remember?? Or maybe I just didn't care back then and I because I care now, I notice it. Also, I was less confused about story events than I was the first round. So yay for reading comprehension.
3 very important take aways from the reading that I want to note here.
This book's title is SO on the nose and why did it take me 5 years later to put that together?! HELP--
The Holmes Family Needs Therapy. Or to be taken out. Or both??? Or either??? As the feelings of overall annoyance linger following my reread, I believe this book was written in a way to drive home the point of just how in over their heads Emma, and Leander, and Charlotte, and Milo are, especially concerning the rather stupid war between the Holmes and Moriartys. Everyone's batshit, just saying Charlotte made a grave mistake, young girl or not, and it was August who paid the price twice. Like...damn. He tries to warn Jamie and August is the one who dies. Damn.
However I feel about Charlotte and Holmes unequally yoked, toxic friendship with romantic overtures now (back then I was eating this shit up, and now I'm like....I'm too old to ship this with the extreme fever I did?????) the Charlotte POV chapters got me again. Probably like they did the first time I read this book. Some quotes down below??
Page 252, Charlotte berating Tom for his transgressions of book 1:
"You're disloyal," I told Tom. "You proved that with Mr. Wheatley. I swear to you that if you ever give up sensitive information again--if you ever betray Watson again--I will find a way to wear you as a hot. Stop looking at my screen."
Page 257, Charlotte expressing her love for Jamie without ever saying she loves him or that she's in love with him:
Watson had laughed. His eyes crinkled at the corners. Hours ago I thought he might have been dead. "There's also a view of the river," I said, and like a miracle, he laughed again. Oftentimes, I withhold information from Watson for this very reason. He resents it, I think. My "magic tricks." I don't know if he's understood yet who the reveals are really for.
Page 258, a line from Charlotte's internal monologue:
I'm a teenage girl. He is my boy best friend. We would be everything to each other until we couldn't.
Page 259, more thoughts on Jamie from Charlotte:
...Jamie was the only escape from myself I'd ever found. When I was beside him, I understood who I was. I spoke to him, and I liked the words I said. I spoke to him, and the words he said back surprised me. Sharpened me. ...Jamie showed me myself made better. He was loyal and kind, stalwart, like the knights from the old tales, and yes he was handsome, even with a bruised face and a furrowed brow, miles away from the place we met or from the places we called home.
We spend so much time in Jamie's head, with his thoughts, and how he internalizes information, events, etc. and there's no doubt that he's in love with his best friend, but the symmetry of seeing some of those feelings reflected back is something I can't ignore. And I'm not going to.
Anyway, I think I might join the masses in book 2 being my least favorite. I'll confirm after I read books 3 and 4, but it seems that's the direction we're going in.

"Spring Break '86" *Chapter 14*
Chapter 15
Chapter 13
ALRIGHT GUYS, this is it.
This is the last chapter before Part 2. And I've already changed the ending. Lulz.
I said this in another post, i really don't know what's gonna happen over the weekend.
If Eddie dies [god forbid] in Vol 2, i don't know how i'll react. It might fuel me to make this the best damn fix-it-fic of all time, or it might throw me in a spiral of despair, unable to finish this.
No no, i'm kidding. Mostly. I will finish this no matter what, but if he does it might take me a few days to recover.
SO I posted this today because either way, it will probably be about a week before you get the next chapter. I'm sorry, please don't leave me in that time!
I'm also sorry this chapter isn't super long, but I was running out of plot leading up to the ending of Vol 1 , and I didn't wanna just start writing bullshit to fill up pages. That's not fair to anyone.
SO, here we are. I hope you all enjoy my interpretation of the ending, even though I flipped who gets stuck in the UD.
Which honestly shouldn't be that different because all the trailers we've seen she's been FINE, so obviously she gets out of the UD pretty fast.
Oh PS-- Per usual, i highly recommend listening to this song before/after/during your reading. I cannot believe I didn't use this song earlier, it's so fucking accurate.
But better late than never, right?
PPS--- Okay like 3 or 4 screen names don't work in my tag list. If they are yours, please tell me what I did wrong. Otherwise i'll give the spots to other people.
Alright here we go!
-------
You and Eddie had decided to head off towards the direction of his trailer, whether or not you’d make it. At least you had each other.
“....You find it weird Vecna hasn’t said anything to us lately?” you asked him.
“What are you doing?!” Eddie hissed as his eyes darted around frantically. “He could hear you!”
“Baby,” you gave him a look. “He can hear us no matter what, and he hasn’t said shit, like I said!”
“Still,” he took your hands and continued to walk with you down the streets of Upside Down Hawkins.
“But seriously!” “What else has got his attention?!” You asked again, looking up to the sky.
“Can we maybe not, think about the monster that’s going to kill us all right now? Focus on us?”
“Us?” You gave him a surprised smile. “There’s an ‘us’?”
“Are you for real right now, Princess?” he laughed sarcastically.
“Well, you never exactly asked me to be your girlfriend, Munson,” you teased him with a tongued smile.
“I proposed!” He reminded you.
“Almost proposed,” you clarified.
“I gave you a fuckin’ ring, Y/N,” He held up your hand, but the ring was gone. “What the--?”
“Oh my god,” You gasped, immediately looking around. “Oh my god, no--”
“Babe I’m pretty sure it’s long gone by now,” He put a hand on your shoulder. “Think about all the shit we’ve been through in the last two days,”
“Oh god,” you whimpered, realizing he was right. You stopped looking around and looked at him apologetically. “I’m so sorry Eddie,”
“Hey, don’t be,” he pulled you into a tight hug, your head up against his chest. “It’s not your fault,”
“It was your favorite though!” you cried upseteddly.
“Nahhhh, it definitely wasn’t,” he shook his head with a smile, holding out his right hand. “THIS is my favorite,”
You recognized it immediately.
“Eddie…” you bit your lip. “Y-You still have that?”
“Are you kiddin’?” He laughs, kissing the top of your forehead. “It’s the best gift I’ve ever gotten,”
-------------
Eddie’s 14th Birthday
“....Happy birthday dear Eddie, happy birthday to you!”
“And many mooooreee,” you added with a giant flourish.
“God be more lame, please,” Eddie blushes as he looks around the diner, making sure no one heard your god-awful singing.
“Shut up and blow out your candles before you get wax on those pancakes!” you hit him softly.
Two candles on a stack of pancakes wasn’t ideal for a birthday cake, but Eddie appreciated any effort you gave him. God knows no one else did. Eddie sighed and blew out the candles, to which you promptly started loudly cheering and clapping.
“Yaaaay!!!” you giggle as Eddie shoots daggers at you for making such a show of yourself.
“I hate you,” he grumbled.
“You love me,” you teased, but both of you stopped as soon as the words left your lips. You just stared at each other while Eddie tried to suss out how serious you were being, and you were mentally kicking yourself for even joking about it.
“...Anyway,” he coughed awkwardly as he cut himself a bite of pancake. “You really didn’t have to do this, Y/N,”
“Well of course I did Eddie,” you began cutting yourself your own piece. “It’s the last birthday I’ll have a chance to,”
“You act like I’m going off to war, Princess,” He chuckled as he stuffed his face with pancakes.
“High school is war Eddie,” you held out your fork making a point. “Everyone knows that,”
“Right,” he rolled his eyes.
“Shut up and open your present,” you took a small box from your purse and placed it on the table, sliding it towards him.
“...I thought this was the present,” He gestures arounds the booth that had been decked out with balloons and streamers, and the Pan “Birthday” Cake.
“Uh no, this is the party doofus,” you shook your head.
“Some party Princess,” he gestures around the empty booth.
“Well I can’t help it that people find you weird,” You pulled
“US weird,”
“Oh people like me fine,” you teased. “It’s just you,”
“...Right,” he nodded with a small, soft laugh. “Well, I guess you’ll have a hell of a good time next year without me then, huh?”
“Eddie,” you held out your hand, realizing you had stuck your foot in your mouth. “I didn’t mean it like--”
“Yeah I know,” he shrugged it off as he took the box from you. “So, what’s this? It’s pretty small. Spend too much money on the party--??”
He stops teasing you when he pulls out the ring. It shines brightly, reflecting the glow of the fluorescent lights of the diner. He looks at it for several seconds before speaking, just admiring it.
“....You don’t like it,” You said softly.
“W-What?” He’s knocked from his trance. “No, I-I love it,”
“Oh don’t patronize me Eddie--” You started to take it back.
“No,” he grabs both of your hands, making you look at him. He looks more serious than you’ve ever seen him; he even looks like he might cry.
“I love it, Y/N, It’s…it’s the nicest thing anyone’s ever gotten me,” he could barely whisper, refusing to cry in public.
“Really?” you bit your lip, doing your absolute damndest not to look at his lips at that moment. His hands holding yours with that look on his face, it felt like the most intimate situation you two had ever been in since you’d known him.
“Really,” he rubs the tops of your hands with his thumbs, the ring already on his finger. “It’s like an elvish ring,”
“Um….okay,” you smiled nervously, not understanding what he was saying, but not caring as long as your hands were in his.
You two just sat there in that booth, holding hands and looking into each other’s eyes.
“Eddie, I um--” This was it, you were going to tell him how you really felt. How you’d always felt.
“Yeah…?” His eyes widened a bit, hoping you were going to make this the most perfect birthday by saying the words he’d waited to hear his whole life.
“I--”
“Y/N!!!” All of a sudden your little brother was calling your name. Eddie instantly dropped your hands and stuffed them back under the table.
“Shit,” you muttered as a ten year old Dustin came running up to the table.
“Did you forget you were supposed to take me to the arcade or what?” Dustin whined. “I’m tired of sitting over there by myself,”
“Dammit Dustin!!” you snapped at him. His eyes instantly went to those huge puppy dog size, big crocodile tears forming in his eyes.
“....I’m sorry,” you sighed, ruffling his hair before giving Eddie an apologetic smile. “I’m sorry, Eds. I need to--”
“Yeah, yeah sure I get it,” he nodded in understanding, nodding at your brother. “Sup Dust?”
“Yeah,” Dustin nodded back at him awkwardly. They didn’t really know each other yet.
“Alright you, let’s go,”
You scooted out of the booth and took your brother’s hand, giving one last longing look at Eddie
who was now admiring his ring with a huge smile.
------------
“I should’ve said something then,” you sighed, running your hands through your hair.
“Why are you doing this, Y/N?” Eddie asked you seriously.
“What?” Your eyebrows furrowed.
“Why are you forcing these trips down memory lane, when you know they all lead to the same place?” he elaborated.
“What are you--”
“You realize what all your little ‘memories’ have in common?” He snapped. “They’re all moments where we came ‘this’ close to being together, but inevitably one of us chickens out, or gets interrupted, or something else!”
“Well yeah but--”
“I don’t wanna look back at that!” He kicked a rock angrily. “I don’t wanna focus on the fact that we could’ve been together so much longer, that we wasted all this time,”
“Eddie--”
“No!” He shakes his head as he grabs your face. “What matters is that we know now. That we’re together now. That I love you, now,”
“Oh just now?” you half laugh, trying to ease the tension.
“You know what i mean, Y/N” he gave you a look.
“Yeah, I know…” you looked down as you played with your fingers.
“So what are you doing, huh?” he asked again.
“I don’t--” you looked up at him, confused.
“You wanna know what I think?” He answered his own question.
“I know you’re gonna tell me--”
“I think you wanna bring these up so you can ‘atone’,” he accused. “You think that one of us or both of us is gonna die, and you wanna apologize and get everything off your chest before we do,”
“Eddie…”
“And I’m not accepting that, do you hear me?” He moved his hands to your face. “I’m not letting you give up on me, not now. We’re not rolling over and accepting death. We’re gonna go make it to this portal and get the fuck out of here,”
“Baby…”
“No!” He pressed his forehead against yours. “Knock it the fuck off,”
“Okay okay,” you put your hands on his face now, trying to calm him down.
“Good,” he sighed as you moved your hands to his neck, burying your face in his shoulder.
“So, what now?” you asked into his t-shirt.
“Whaddya mean ‘what now’?” He rolled his eyes at the question, stroking your hair while your face remained on his chest.
“Well what are we gonna talk about now, goof?” You shook your head with a laugh as you started to pull him along, resuming your journey.
“Hmmmm, well--” He pretended to think. “Let’s talk about the future, y’know when we get out of here, which we will,”
“Oh?” You smiled in amusement. “Thought you didn’t wanna talk about our imaginary kids,”
“Okay we don’t have to go that far,”he blushed. “ Just like…y’know, after all of this,”
“You mean, next week?” you clarified warily.
“....Maybe…” his voice sank, the reality of your situation sinking in. Even if you did both survive this, Vecna, the world ending; you still had to deal with the fact that technically you lived almost 200 miles away from each other.
“I don’t…” you played with his fingers interlaced with yours as you walked. “I don’t know…”
“Yes you do,” he nodded his head sadly. “You have to go back to school,”
“Well, yeah obviously,” you half laughed.
“And you’ll just forget about me again, and I’ll see you when you graduate,” he added in a mopey tone.
“Seriously, Eddie?” You dropped his hand and stopped walking. “You really think--”
“Well what else are you gonna do, huh Y/N?” he was suddenly getting very defensive, suddenly feeling as if walls were closing in on him.
“Okay first you don’t want me to start ‘atoning’ for mistakes, and now you’re accusing me of making more before they even happen?!” you had to laugh at the situation, it was ridiculous.
“No, but--”
“For fuck’s sake Eddie, I almost died for you! You really think I’m just gonna go home next week and forget the love of my life?” you gestured to your leg for emphasis.
“I just--”
“I love you, Eddie Munso,” you pulled him close to you, stepping on a curb to be taller. “I love you, and I’m never letting you go again, do you hear me?”
“Yeah…” he nodded softly.
“It’s me and you, okay?” You tugged on his shirt. “This is it,”
“Alright so what do you think is gonna happen?” he challenged you, not fully accepting your cookie cutter solution.
“Well,” you pulled him on the curb as you started to walk again. “Why don’t you come with me?”
“To Chicago?” he laughed. “How am I gonna do that, if I’m in my millionth senior year?”
“You realize there are things called GED’s, right babe?” you asked.
“Yeah, you think I don't know that?” he grumbled. “But I don’t wanna just give up,”
“Seriously?” You half laughed. “You’d rather sit here in Hawkins for another three months to prove something to people? You?”
“Well, why not?!” he argued. “You don’t think I deserve to walk across that stage and flip off the principal?”
“Eddie,” you rolled your eyes. “Come on,”
“Come on what?!” he threw his hands up.
“Why do you need to--”
“Because everyone in this town thinks that I can’t do this, and I wanna prove them wrong!” He gestured wildly.
“Just now, all of a sudden?” you didn’t mean to laugh, but the thought was idiotic to you.
“Excuse me?” he looked at you seriously offended.a
“Eddie you’ve been there three years longer than you’re supposed to be,” You half laughed. “Why now all of a sudden is it so--”
“Wow,” he scoffed with a hurt laugh. “Wow, okay,”
“Eddie come on--” you reached for him but he jerked away.
“NO,” He shouted. “I just want--”
“Why does it matter what anyone else thinks about you but me?” you exclaimed in distress.
“Because you weren't around, Y/N!” he barked back.
“Wha--”
“I spent years trying to not care about what you thought of me, d’ya get that?” He laughed tearfully. “I spent years trying to downplay the shit you and your sheeple friends would say about me, do to me,” His blood began to boil just thinking about it.
“So excuse me if your opinion isn’t going to be the ‘only one that matters’!” he sputters angrily.
“Eddie, I--”
“Y’know, honestly at this point your brother’s opinion should matter to me more than yours does!” he cut you off. “He’s been nothing but nice to me, hell he admires the shit out of me! Shouldn’t you want me to impress him? Set a good example to him by walking across that stage, not giving up?”
“Oh yeah, Eddie,” you laughed. “I really think you flipping off the principal after a lifetime of senior years is a great example--”
“SHUT UP!!!” He screamed, causing you to flinch.
“Eddie--”
All Eddie could focus on in that moment was how condescending you were being. Telling him he was wrong, like you always did. Like how you always had. Like you always would be, until the day he died.
“No, this is always what it comes down to, Princess,” he wasn’t backing down this time. “You think you’re better than me. You will always think you’re better than me. No matter what I do, or say, or how much you claim to love me, that will be always be true,”
“No it won’t!” you protested.
“Yes it will!” He started to walk away from you. “We’re never gonna be on equal ground in your mind, ever,”
“This isn’t you,” you trailed after him. “You know I’m not like that, not really,”
“Maybe I do, and I’ve just been pretending you’re not because I was so idiotically happy that you finally seemed to feel the way that I have,”
“That is so ridiculous--” you dismissed his thought.
“SEE?” He raised his voice again. “You’re still doing it!”
“Eddie you’re ridiculous,” he mocked you. “Eddie that’s stupid. Eddie you’re a fucking moron!”
“I’m not saying that,” You jogged quickly to catch up to him and stopped him. “I’m saying listen to yourself: Two minutes ago you got pissed that I kept dragging up memories that I felt bad about. You got mad for me trying to-- atone, or whatever,”
Eddie looked away, trying not to accept what you were saying.
“And now I think I'm better than you? Th-That all of this has been some kind of sick prank? Like I have been risking my life for the past two days to just-- what, make you feel like a moron?”
Eddie knew you were right, deep down he knew that. But for some reason all he could think about was how cruel you had been to him in High School, how you had always been too good for him. That none of this was real.
“I don’t wanna do this anymore--” He shoved past you and kept walking.
You knew what you had to do-- you knew this wasn’t Eddie This was Vecna, finally getting to him. It made sense since he had connected with him earlier, now he had a hold on him. But what were you going to do? You didn’t exactly have a band, or a record player. And you wondered if the same song would work on two people.
Then you had an idea.
“I can’t fight this feeling any longer…” you started to softly sing, making Eddie stop in his tracks.
“And yet I’m still afraid to let it show.” You kept singing, tears choking your throat as you mentally willed him to turn and look at you.
“What started out as friendship has grown stronger…” you started walking towards him. “I only wish I had the strength to let it show,”
The lyrics were so hauntingly accurate, you knew this could probably be your song. It was your song. And it was the song that was going to bring him back to you.
“I tell myself that i can’t hold out forever,” you walked closer, he still refused to look at you. “I said there is no reason for my fear,”
“Yeah right,” Eddie mumbled with a sad laugh, Vecna’s voice still in his ears.
“Because I feel so secure when we’re together,” you were approaching him closely now, taking his hand softly as you stepped in front of him.
“You give my life direction, you make everything so clear…”
Eddie felt his anger shifting as he saw the sincerity in your eyes and truth in your words.
“And even as I wander, I’m keeping you in sight,” he felt himself singing softly back to you, thinking about all the years you had lost. The years you were so close yet so far from each other. And deep down he knew he had never given up on you, not for one second.
“You’re a candle in the window, on a cold dark winter’s night,” you took both hands in his now, sincerely meaning the words you were singing.
He had always been a beacon to you, even when you had tried to deny it. He had always been there in the back of your mind, keeping you from ever being truly as awful as the rest of your ‘sheeple’ friends.
“And I’m getting closer than I ever thought I might…” you both sang together, holding tightly to each other’s hands now.
God this song would’ve been so perfect to actually admit your feelings to one another before all of this bullshit had gone down. You could have stood up at your graduation and sang it to him. Hell, you could have stood up at any dance or school function and sang this to him. You could have announced to the world that you, Y/N, captain of the cheer squad, valedictorian, all american girl, were in love with Eddie Munson, the ‘freak’.
“And I can't fight this feeling anymore. I’ve forgotten what I started fighting for,”
You couldn’t believe how stupid you had been, trying to fight your feelings for him. For not fighting for him, for you, for the two of you. Why you hadn’t just said what you were really feeling, telling them to go to hell. But you were saying it now, and you were saying it to fight for him. Fighting for him against something far more nefarious than a bunch of white-bread Americana sheeple.
You took his face in your hands, looking deep into his chocolate brown eyes as you sang the last line of the chorus, needing him to hear you more than ever.
“And if I have to crawl across your floor, come crashing through your door. Baby I can’t fight this feeling anymore,”
WIth those words, Vecna’s hold on Eddie was relinquished. He grabbed your face in his hands now and pulled you into a long, luxurious, kiss. You both stood there for a while just exploring each other’s mouths, being taken back to the moment you had kissed for the first time.
When you both had been so relieved to see the other alive, knowing how you felt about each other. When your lips had finally cascaded against one another after almost a decade of wanting, waiting, yearning.
And now here you were again, all of those feelings coming back at once. It was as if you started again, feeling like you had almost lost him in those five minutes Vecna had a hold on him.
“I’m sorry, baby,” he pressed his forehead against yours as tears dripped down his cheeks, his mind clear of any bad thoughts.
“No, I'm sorry,” you shook your head with your own tears falling down. “If I hadn’t made you feel that way Vecna wouldn’t have anything to hold onto,”
“You do whatever you feel you need to do, Eddie,” you went on.
“I just-- I can’t stand the thought of leaving you here again, not for any reason or any amount of time. I just want-- need, us to be together as much as we possibly can, because I lost so much time with you and I don’t wanna lose any amount of time with you, ever, ever again,”
“I know, i know,” he pulled you closer as you cried into his chest.
“And I want to stay here with you, I do. I just--” You cried.
“No,” he pulled you back to face him.
“No, don’t you think for one second of just-- dropping out, to stay here with me. That is the absolute one thing I have dreaded about us being together, me holding you back,”
“You don’t--” you put a hand to his face.
“Maybe not now, but if you do that it will actually be true, yeah?” He gave you a sad smile. “So you-- you do what you have to do, and I’ll do the same. And we’ll--”
“I’ll come back for you, Eddie,” You cut him off, knowing he was having his doubts. “I swear to God, as soon as school ends I will be right back here,”
“Hopefully not here,” he joked, gesturing around you.
“You know what i mean,” you hit him lightly.
“Yeah, I do, Princess,” he smiled, kissing you again. “And who knows, maybe this summer I might just come to you, being a free man and all,”
“I love you, Eddie,”
“I love you too, Y/N,” He smiled, kissing you once again. “Now let’s get the hell out of here,”
-----
Eddie’s Trailer
Dustin, Max, and Lucas all paced around Eddie’s living room, the gaping portal hole in the middle of all of them.
“Where are they?” Dustin worried out loud.
“I mean, they were walking on foot Dustin,”
“But still,” he paced unnervingly. “I just want them--”
Suddenly sounds of running and chattering interrupted his thought. All three of them looked down to see Nancy, Steve and Robin running to the opening in the ceiling.
“Where is Y/N and Eddie?” Dustin immediately noticed his sister was missing.
The three of them looked at each other awkwardly, trying to figure out what exactly to say to him, and who would say it.
“Dust…” Steve stepped up, knowing him the best out of the three of them.
“No,” Dustin shook his head, refusing to hear whatever he was about to say. “No, don’t say it,”
“She didn’t…” Steve tried again.
“Shut up,” Dustin spoke over him.
“She didn’t make it,” He finished.
“Yeah I think that was obvious, Steve,” Robin hit him lightly.
“But what about Eddie?” Lucas asked.
“He uh,” Steve looked at the two girls. “He wanted to stay with her--”
“Stay with her?!” Max gasped out of nowhere. “He wanted to stay with a dead body?!”
“MAX!!!!” Lucas hit her violently, gesturing to Dustin who was silently imploding, trying to take everything everyone was saying in.
“So you’re telling me I’ve lost my sister, and my best friend--?” Dustin stammered.
“I’m not your best friend?” Steve blurted out.
“REALLY, Steve?” Max scoffed.
“...It just came out,” He muttered, embarrassed.
“NOT the point!” Dustin yelled.
“You just let him stay there with-- with Y/N?” He couldn’t bear to refer to you as just a body.
He was dying inside, trying like hell to keep it together. You were more of a best friend to anyone in the vicinity at that moment. You had been his first friend, his big sister. You taught him everything. His ABC’s, how to count, what made the perfect burger and pizza, which ice creams were good and which were downright toxic.
He had waited for what seemed like forever for you to come home from Chicago, wanting to ask you about girls. He knew you’d be reluctant, but he wanted to tell you all about Suzy. You had been the first person he wanted to tell in the first place. But when he called your dorm the person who answered said you were out, and then never gave you the message.
He had felt the two of you growing apart since you had left, and it would have killed him if he hadn’t been so busy with the literal apocalypse happening every other minute of the day. He wanted to keep you from it, from all of this. For this exact reason. He didn’t want you involved because he couldn’t lose you, and now his worst nightmare had happened.
“We tried to--” Robin tried to explain to Dustin how they had pleaded with Eddie to come with them while he lay there sobbing, holding your ‘dead’ body. His anguished cries were forever burned into her brain as they tried dragging him away from you.
He was bigger than all of them, even an inch or two on Steve, so he had easily ripped away from their grasp and ran back to your side, cradling you in his arms. She had finally been the one to beg Nancy and Steve to just let him be. She couldn’t take hearing him cry anymore, it was too tortuous.
“Dustin we really tried to--” Robin tried telling him.
“No,” he stopped them, moving away from the hole. “No I don’t wanna hear anymore, do you hear me?!”
“Okay can we just focus on getting the rest of us out of here, please?” Nancy had enough of all of the drama. She just wanted to be back in the real world.
“Jesus Nancy, way to be empathetic,” Robin scoffed under her breath.
“I’m sorry!” She threw her hands up. “I’m sorry I’m tired of being in this god-forsaken place. I’m sorry if I'm a tad anxious when I’m literally steps away from freedom!”
“Alright alright,” Steve put his hands on her shoulders, trying to calm her down. “Okay, we’re getting out okay?”
“Thank you,” she mumbled, rubbing his hands on her shoulder.
“Do you have something to get us out guys?” Steve asked the kids.
“Yeah,” Lucas grabbed the ‘rope’’ Dustin had made since Dustin was busy having a crisis over you and Eddie.
He threw it up into the ceiling, and to their shock and amazement it stuck. In the Upside Down, he had thrown it ‘down’ to the group for them to climb.
“That is so trippy!” Robin gasped. “Okay who’s first?”
“Ladies first,”
“Nance,” Robin pointed at her.
“Thank you,” She smiled gratefully as she pulled herself up the rope and into Eddie’s living room, crashing onto the mattress they had put in front of the hole.
“Alright Robin, c’mere,” Steve nodded to her as she followed Nancy.
--------
Meanwhile
You and Eddie were reaching the entrance to the Trailer Park, when you saw the portal and the group starting to go through it.
“Shit,” Eddie muttered. He didn’t waste any time grabbing your hand and sprinting towards the portal. “Let’s go baby, let’s go!”
You were practically howling in pain as Eddie pulled you through the park, your leg throbbing in pain. BUt you did your best to keep up with him, lest he drop you and leave you there. Though you knew he’d never actually do that.
“HEY! GUYS! WAIT UP!” Eddie screamed across the park, hoping to get their attention.
-------
At The Portal
Steve was about to head up the rope when they all heard Eddie screaming. Even Dustin could hear it from across the trailer. He leaped up off the couch and ran to the portal.
“Steve!” He yelled. “Steve who was that?!”
“It’s Eddie,” Steve answered in disbelief, staring at the two of you racing towards them. “...And Y/N!”
“She’s alive?!” Dustin began to cry happy tears, he didn't care who saw them. You were alive.
“She’s alive!” Steve smiled up at him. “And they’re coming! They’re gonna make it!”
“Thank God,” Dustin breathed a sigh of relief, wiping his tears away.
----------
You and Eddie were still almost to the portal where Steve was yelling encouraging words to you both.
“Come on guys, you can do it!” He called.
You could hear your brother yelling for you, tears in his voice. “Y/N!! Y/N I’m here!!!!”
You began to smile at Eddie, who was thinking the same thing: You were gonna make it out of here. Together.
You were so elated in thinking about getting out of there you didn’t notice a rock in your path. You tripped on it just before reaching Steve, sending you sailing on top of it, banging your head against it. It knocked you out cold.
Eddie had the inertia of still running when you toppled over the rock, releasing your hand from his grapes unintentionally as he stoped a few feet away from you.
“Shit!” He began to panic, about to run to your side. But something stopped him.
Before he could make a move, Vecna appeared in front of him, blocking your unconscious body from his view.
“I don’t think so,” He wagged a finger.
Everyone gasped and gaped in horror as they watched Vecna physically pick up your body and throw it over his veiny shoulder.
“You tell Eleven if any of you want to see your friend alive, she’ll come to me,” He smirked.
“What the--” Eddie began to panic, looking at Steve and up at his friends, then back to Vecna.
“We don’t know how to find her!!!” Dustin screamed down to Vecna.
“Well, you’d better pray you figure out a way,” He chuckled darkly. “Now if you’ll excuse me, Y/N and I need to get better acquainted,”
He ran a gray finger down your thigh, smelling you with a perverted smirk.
“You SON OF A---” Eddie started to make a run at him, but Steve held him back as hard as he could.
“Don’t you fucking TOCH HER!!!” He screamed, angry tears stinging his eyes.
His cries fell on deaf ears, as Vecna began to float back up into the sky with a mighty evil laugh, disappearing into the red horizon.
‘What just--” Dustin looked down at Steve and Eddie. “What just happened?”
How were they going to save you now?

So out of nowhere I was tagged and quoted by a SR shipper for a blog of mine posted in August of last year. Talk about throwback but, hey, gotta appreciate that level of snooping. 😉
Back in the day I actually used to encourage discourse amongst Inuyasha fans- both shippers and antis alike- but I've since realized that it's a lost cause. But for you, @feministmetalgreymon , I'll grant this exception. Just 'cause it's been a while so why the hell not. haha
I want to assure you, however, that nothing you say will ever convince me that Sesshomaru and Rin are meant to be together romantically or that the story intended it so. Nor will you find any validation here. You can ship them for all I care, but please for all that is good and holy while I have your attention try- I mean really try- to understand why it is so many of us Inuyasha fans are so against this pairing in the first place (newsflash: it's not about ship wars), and why we believe a romance between the two of them is completely and utterly out of character.
For those of you interested in reading this, the blog of mine in question that the above shipper mentions in their counter-argument is here for reference. It's titled "Jaken = Rin's Dad?" I'm going to try and keep this short, but I'm also making no such promises. After all, I'm not exactly known for my brevity. haha Now let's get crackin'!
Like you, feministmetalgreymon, did for your recent blog here where you took screenshots of mine to address certain parts, I will be doing the same and dissecting yours accordingly.
[Snippet 1]
I worked with kids for many years as a teacher, and many people in my family have too or still do. Two of them happen to be just over 5 feet which is quite short for the average adult woman living here. I've also worked alongside many a women of short stature, and never did I hear any of them complaining of issues with their students having difficulty differentiating them from their own peers just because they were short as well. I'm sorry but that's just ridiculous. Kids are quite smart and pick up on a lot more than you seem to give them credit for. Height is not the only characteristic they look at to determine who's an adult and who's not, and it's foolish to suggest otherwise. So unless you're a babysitter who's still in their teens and/or who has very childlike features or behavior then I'm afraid what you're getting at is total hogwash. This is just another example of how you shippers offer nothing of real substance to your reasoning, it's only ever cherry-picking or strawmanning from you guys. Stop deflecting from the real issues please, because this certainly isn't one and only winds up being a complete waste of time for all parties involved.
[Snippet 2]
Okay, calm down now. I wasn't insinuating that relationships between parents and children can't change over time in terms of how they get along. Of course that's possible, as all families experience their fair share of estrangement and abuse. What I was speaking about was in reference to the overall dynamic between the two. Because a bad mother or father can still be viewed as a parental figure to their child even if say they're not in said child's life anymore. Since Sesshomaru and Rin share a healthy bond- and just a friendly reminder that in my blog I even said that he doesn't have to necessarily be labeled her father but that a romantic relationship later would still be inappropriate- I didn't deem it necessary to address what you brought up. Plus, it kinda, umm, misses the point?? Please, let's stay on topic. And it's not captured in the screenshot, but stop acting like there isn't a small part of them that idolizes their parents at some point during childhood. Just like you mention later on how it's normal for kids to have innocent crushes on adults that they eventually grow out of? Well, guess what, the same concept applies here. Kids eventually learn that their parents are far from perfect and make mistakes too. Rin is so damn young in the OG series though that we never even get to see her reach that maturity level.
[Snippet 3]
LOL! Alright, okay, so the "unbreakable bond" bit you're mentioning was actually me quoting you sessrinners. Did you not catch that? I literally spelled it out. *sigh* The whole point I was making is that shippers like yourself make hypocritical and contradictory statements all.the.goddamn.time. One moment you guys claim that Sesshomaru and Rin were essentially strangers and meant very little to each other, only to say in the same breath a few seconds later that they were destined to be together and their bond is like no other. I agree, their bond is special, but why must that mean they're going to fall in love?
That is the root of the matter here. Too many animes/mangas have romanticized this older adult man & young girl growing up falling in love trope that it's become way too normalized and widely accepted across the world- and yes, in some cultures more than others. Sadly, you lack the awareness to recognize how this all works. You know how we know that? When we see that you shippers are so desensitized to sexualized images of girls in the media that you share posts like this one below which *subtly* imply a future romance although one half of that pairing is still just a child in the pic and then try and pass it off as cute. That's like super fucking problematic and it scares me that you can't see that (or deny you do). 🤢
After all that's said and done, Sesshomaru leaving Rin in the village with Kaede is to me the strongest indicator more than pretty much anything else he's done for Rin that proves he is her adoptive father. It's so funny to me how you somehow see the exact opposite though. 🤔 What I think is happening is that you got yourself on some squeaky clean ass shipper goggles fresh out of your little echo chamber. Because I hate to tell you, but what you're fantasizing is what you want to see and not what's actually there on screen or was written into the story. I'm strictly talking about Inuyasha and the manga of course. [For the TL; DR version skip to the last paragraph.]
Parents looking after their kids is what parents are supposed to do. A good parent will do anything to keep their child safe and ensure they are cared for, so what he did for her by leaving her there was in her best interests clearly. Besides, as a babysitter, you more than most people should understand that parents aren't always able to be there for their kids so sometimes others gotta step in to help. Haven't you heard of the saying, "it takes a village to raise a child?" Which in Rin's case is literally true! 😂 Sometimes kids are even sent off to stay with grandparents and that's who raises them instead. Or maybe they have to temporarily live with an aunt or uncle because their single parent's job requires they work out of town 4-5 days of the week so they're hardly home. But that doesn't mean that the parents care or love their kids any less, and it's foolish to assume that Sesshomaru must have thought very little of Rin simply due to the fact that he made the decision to leave her in the village. Come on, y'all are acting like he abandoned her there!!
It's just given the circumstances Sesshomaru finally came to learn that Rin traveling with him was no longer safe. I also like to think it's because he wished for her to live a more normal life and to learn how to fully trust humans again. Plus, continuing to travel with him as young as she was would have proven dangerous and unwise. Now for you to know all this and still manage to turn his past actions towards her while she was just a child into a romantic gesture is what boggles my mind. Regardless of how you look at it, from my perspective or your own, Sesshomaru is in the wrong. Either he's a father figure who impregnates his daughter at the young age of approximately 14. OR he's this man she used to travel with who maybe isn't a father to her but who nonetheless basically rapes her since kids her age can't consent to sex with an adult. Idk about you but it sounds to me like nobody here wins with either scenario we're given. In other words, you should be just as mad as we are. If only one side didn't choose to forsake their morals they know we both have in common for the sake of a ship. Welp. 🤷♀️
I agree, incest is disgusting but that's not the only problem we have with this pairing. A romantic bond forming between Sesshomaru and Rin would also constitute as grooming.
You realize that over the years he visited her in the village that he brought her gifts too and essentially watched her grow up right before his very eyes, right? I mean, I know you do, but I really shouldn't have to explain further why pursuing a romantic/sexual relationship with each other is plain and simple wrong. And before you say it's not because he didn't have any malintent, please understand that considering their history and power dynamic up to then that yes this is still considered grooming even if Rin supposedly "wanted it" or "made the first move." Whether you consider him her father or not, as the adult who took on a role resembling that of a caretaker in her early life- a critical developmental time for a child- Sesshomaru is obligated to turn down any advances by Rin and most definitely should not initiate any himself. As the first close adult figure she's had in her life since her parents died, it's unfathomable to imagine how Sesshomaru could go through with taking advantage of this young girl who was under his care and supervision since they met. To think he could be capable of betraying that trust sickens me to the core.
This. Now THIS is how a parent/guardian or a similar adult caretaker (babysitter, teacher, etc.) talks to a child. And, in turn, this is how some young children talk to adults. You'd be insane and delusional to deny it! We see it in our everyday lives, do we not? From where else do you think our stories draw most of their inspiration? Yes, obviously these fictional universes have aspects of fantasy that don't exist in the real world, but so how then do you suppose we're able to relate to them? The reason for that being is because these stories are written by people for people, so naturally there are going to be real life aspects embedded throughout. Sure, a little escapism doesn't hurt as we don't need to take everything so seriously, but ultimately we all need to recognize that the messages in the stories we tell matter. Most stories possess a combination of both light and dark themes, but when it specifically comes to the latter we gotta be careful with how we tackle this in children's media since kids are far more impressionable.
So if at the center of a story we have two of the main protagonists whose mom is basically their same age and to top it off she knew their dad when she was just a girl and who just so happened to help raise her, wouldn't you say that's beyond fucked up or at the very least so fucking weird? Like why would we think it's even remotely okay for our children to watch this garbage?? Really think about it. Try and be objective for once and think about how it would sound explaining this storyline to an outsider who's never watched IY or HNY. Well, antis have tried this before many times and we always get the same reaction: Ewww!
Like I said earlier, if you wanna ship it then fine, but 1) please stop seeking our approval or trying to change our minds - your ship wish came true didn't it, so why do you need us to validate it? 2) even though it's not canon, respect that we don't support this sequel portraying pedophilia in a positive light. It's harmful af to not only allow but glorify the continuation of sexualized images of young girls everywhere. And I shouldn't have to say this, but just because this trope is popular as you say does not make it right. Lolicon themes in the media have been an issue forever and it needs to stop. Yes, even some people in Japan or "the East" would agree. Shocker!
We're pissed off and rightfully so because Yashahime's TV rating is 14, not to mention it airs at the prime time kids in Japan watch TV after getting home from school. That's Towa and Setsuna's age, true, but if Rin being the mom when she's like only a year older than them (please don't argue w/ me about the math- antis have so far been right every time with it) is straight-up disgusting and not something we should be supporting or endorsing. Rin's a whole ass child!! Please don't start with the "but times were different then so her having kids at 15 is acceptable" argument either, because we've already debunked that and every other single excuse you guys throw at us. Besides, how or why would you expect young viewers to know these historical "facts" anyway, especially if as you suggest fiction doesn't affect reality so what does it matter? Yet here we are, arguing over a fictional show in real life almost a year and a half into the "Sesshomaru fucks?" sequel being announced. My ass, your ass, hell all our asses fiction doesn't affect reality!
Look, I do apologize if the tone of this blog came off as snippy or condescending at times. I do not wish you any ill will, it's just I'm not really sure what you expected to get out of all this besides maybe getting on my nerves perhaps. haha A lot of you shippers have been desperately scrambling to interact with us, lurking in our tags, jumping onto our posts screaming canon and getting so defensive even though you sought us out first. We've been sticking to our tags, so how about you stay in your lane too. By the way since we're on the topic, have you seen Twitter or Reddit?! SR shippers there are the actual worst and many Inuyasha fans (not just antis) have complained of not feeling welcomed to engage in fandom spaces anymore. Shippers swarm them and scare them off simply because fans don't like your ship and refuse to accept it. It's pathetic, really. No one should ever be bullied or harassed just because they don't like something you might. We're all fans of Inuyasha, aren't we? So let's act like it. Yashahime on the other hand, you guys are welcome to that pungent heap of trash. Fans have a right to criticize it too, but if you like it then good for you, so keep on liking it and don't mind us.
I'm almost done, but real quick back to Jaken! Let's not forget about how the official Yashahime website- which came out after my blog, mind you- described Jaken. This translation isn't the best one available but it's the only version a fellow anti friend could track down. They do recall a better one done by a native Japanese speaker who was also an anti, and that member confirmed that Jaken is indeed called Rin's babysitter. So you see, I was right in my interpretation. In the original post I did compare Jaken to a brother, but after talking to others (some comments can be found under said post) I did acknowledge that he's more of a reluctant babysitter who's not related. And if he's not at least a brother to Rin, then he's definitely not her father.
At the end of the day, the creator Rumiko Takahashi has the final word. Which is guess what? Hogosha. 💖 Probably should've just started out with that and saved us all the trouble, huh? Good day/night to you.
Papamaru bids you adieu now. 🤞
#anti yashahime#anti sessrin#sesshomaru is rin's dad#papamaru#hogosha 💖#the sequel may not be canon but sunrise can still burn in hell

(SPOILERS for v1.2 Dragonspine lore)
New update, new lore, new speculations, here we go again.....
So it’s pretty obvious that a kingdom of sorts existed at the mountain. The location names on the map include “Entombed City - Ancient Palace” and “Entombed City - Outskirts”. There are ruins everywhere, stone tablets with symbols that I don’t think we have encountered in any other region, more visual motifs of Celtic knots patterns and the “petal” shapes popping up, more ruin guards, and more mentions of the “white tree” (I believe the official English translation of “cypress” is actually incorrect), which used to be mentioned only in loading screen text as the mysterious tree that grow throughout the continent of Teyvat and seems to be connected to the "Ley Lines". (Or maybe the tree IS the Ley Lines)
Of all the new stuff, there are a few quests and puzzles that were of particular interest and may suffice to tell the story of what happened way back then. These are the "In the Mountains" questline, the 8 stone tablets puzzle, the 3 boxes puzzle, the Frostbearing Tree, and the dragon tooth quest (the one that gives you the spear as reward). Let's start from the 8 stone tablets puzzle. There are 8 stone tablets (they look like the tablets you can find in Liyue, but these have symbols on them that I don't think we've seen in any other place so far.....but I'm not sure so please correct me if I'm wrong) in various places in Dragonspine, mostly near some sort of puzzle. Each can be read and gives a line of text that look like it's part of a longer whole. (They can be read in the "Ancient Carvings" page in the Genshin Impact wiki)
These 8 inscriptions can't be put together by themselves, but must be understood in the context of the "In the Mountains" quest and the 3 boxes puzzle. The 3 boxes puzzle requires 3 quest items, whose descriptions are below:
Now there's a clearer picture of the story. We have 4 characters: a priest/king (Varuch?), an unnamed princess, an unnamed record-keeper, and the outsider Imunlaukr. In the Dragonspine mountain there once existed a city surrounded by lush greenery named Sal Vindagnyr. The princess of the city had a dream of a black dragon (Durin) which was a sign of doom. Then along came Imunlaukr the outsider, who the princess apparently fell in love with. Imunlaukr posessed the sword that could cut apart ice and snow, also known as Snow-Tombed Starsilver. Then for reasons unknown, Imunlaukr left Sal Vindagnyr (according to the record keeper Imunlaukr "abandoned" the princess), and the Skyfrost Nail descended onto the mountaintop altar, thus turning the mountain into the uninhabitable frozen wasteland we see today. The king prayed to the gods in Celestia for guidance and tried to heal the Leyline/white tree, but the gods would not answer him anymore, and the tree withered. Eventually the king died on one of his trips to the altar. Meanwhile the princess tried to paint wall murals (presumably the ones found in the vault room that you can unlock with the 3 boxes; screencaps below; note the sky island Celestia and the worshippers carrying up offerings) depicting the winter disasterland finally melting away, but froze to death before she could finish.
The record keeper, the last person standing, became so disillusioned with the gods that before he died he cursed the whole world to doom by Durin. Eventually Durin did come along and was defeated by Barbatos and Dvalin. Durin fell into the mountain, becoming the giant ribcage seen in the northwest side of Dragonspine. Durin's powers persisted however, as evidenced by the pulsating red heart in the cave below the rib cage, the red crystals, and the crimson agate littered throughout the mountain. By the life-giving (?) power of Durin and the actions of our MC, the white tree came back to life as the Frostbearing Tree, now featuring red crystals growing out of its branches.
So this is the story I've pieced together from the clues. The interesting thing to note here is that Imunlaukr has been mentioned before, in the description of the Sacrificial Greatsword, but as the name of a clan rather than a single individual. Imunlaukr apparently also means "battle-leek" in Old Norse (please correct me if I'm wrong), and refers to some sort of sword. I have not found what "Vindagnyr" might mean.
Now the question is, why did the gods of Celestia drop the nail that doomed Sal Vindagnyr? Did it have something to do with the presence and/or actions of the outsider Imunlaukr? After all, Albedo did tell us that Teyvat is somehow naturally resistant to outside things, so much so that life from the outside cannot grow properly in Teyvat. Also it was hinted that Barbatos chased Durin into Dragonspine purposefully, so perhaps the white tree's revival was not a coincidence.
But regardless of the speculations and questions, one thing is clear at this point: there is definitely a developing theme of humans vs gods. In the travail trailer this is pretty much the theme throughout. In-game in the prologue this wasn't readily apparent, mostly because Barbatos was the god of freedom and didn't quite want to rule Mondstadt, thus there wasn't much room for conflict between him and the humans. In chapter 1 this becomes more important as there was some conflict between the Qixing and the Adepti over who should be the ones governing Liyue, but this was resolved as Morax stepped down and Madam Ping convinced the other Adepti to hand over control to the Qixing. And now we have stories of a whole city that froze because of a gigantic nail dropped by the gods in Celestia. I think we will see this conflict deepening as more of the story is revealed in later regions.

"Spring Break 86" *Chapter 14*
Chapter 15
Chapter 13
ALRIGHT GUYS, this is it.
This is the last chapter before Part 2. And I’ve already changed the ending. Lulz.
I said this in another post, i really don’t know what’s gonna happen over the weekend.
If Eddie dies [god forbid] in Vol 2, i don’t know how i’ll react. It might fuel me to make this the best damn fix-it-fic of all time, or it might throw me in a spiral of despair, unable to finish this.
No no, i’m kidding. Mostly. I will finish this no matter what, but if he does it might take me a few days to recover.
SO I posted this today because either way, it will probably be about a week before you get the next chapter. I’m sorry, please don’t leave me in that time!
I’m also sorry this chapter isn’t super long, but I was running out of plot leading up to the ending of Vol 1 , and I didn’t wanna just start writing bullshit to fill up pages. That’s not fair to anyone.
SO, here we are. I hope you all enjoy my interpretation of the ending, even though I flipped who gets stuck in the UD.
Which honestly shouldn’t be that different because all the trailers we’ve seen she’s been FINE, so obviously she gets out of the UD pretty fast.
Oh PS– Per usual, i highly recommend listening to this song before/after/during your reading. I cannot believe I didn’t use this song earlier, it’s so fucking accurate.
But better late than never, right?
PPS— Okay like 3 or 4 screen names don’t work in my tag list. If they are yours, please tell me what I did wrong. Otherwise i’ll give the spots to other people.
Alright here we go!
——-
You and Eddie had decided to head off towards the direction of his trailer, whether or not you’d make it. At least you had each other.
“….You find it weird Vecna hasn’t said anything to us lately?” you asked him.
“What the–?”
“Oh my god,” You gasped, immediately looking around. “Oh my god, no–”
“Babe I’m pretty sure it’s long gone by now,” He put a hand on your shoulder.
————-
Eddie’s 14th Birthday
“….Happy birthday dear Eddie, happy birthday to you!”
“…Anyway,” he coughed awkwardly as he cut himself a bite of pancake.
“…I thought this was the present,” He gestures arounds the booth that had been decked out with balloons and streamers, and the Pan “Birthday” Cake.
“Uh no, this is the party doofus,” you shook your head.
“Some party Princess,” he gestures around the empty booth.
“Well I can’t help it that people find you weird,” You pulled
“US weird,”
“Oh people like me fine,” you teased. “It’s just you,”
“…Right,” he nodded with a small, soft laugh. “Well, I guess you’ll have a hell of a good time next year without me then, huh?”
“Eddie,” you held out your hand, realizing you had stuck your foot in your mouth. “I didn’t mean it like–”
“Yeah I know,” he shrugged it off as he took the box from you. “So, what’s this? It’s pretty small. Spend too much money on the party–??”
He stops teasing you when he pulls out the ring. It shines brightly, reflecting the glow of the fluorescent lights of the diner. He looks at it for several seconds before speaking, just admiring it.
“….You don’t like it,” You said softly.
“W-What?” He’s knocked from his trance. “No, I-I love it,”
“Oh don’t patronize me Eddie–” You started to take it back.
“Eddie, I um–” This was it, you were going to tell him how you really felt. How you’d always felt.
“Yeah…?” His eyes widened a bit, hoping you were going to make this the most perfect birthday by saying the words he’d waited to hear his whole life.
“I–”
“Y/N!!!” All of a sudden your little brother was calling your name.
“….I’m sorry,” you sighed, ruffling his hair before giving Eddie an apologetic smile. “I’m sorry, Eds. I need to–”
“Yeah, yeah sure I get it,” he nodded in understanding, nodding at your brother. “Sup Dust?”
“Yeah,” Dustin nodded back at him awkwardly. They didn’t really know each other yet.
“Alright you, let’s go,”
You scooted out of the booth and took your brother’s hand, giving one last longing look at Eddie
who was now admiring his ring with a huge smile.
————
“I should’ve said something then,” you sighed, running your hands through your hair.
“Why are you doing this, Y/N?” Eddie asked you seriously.
“What?” Your eyebrows furrowed.
“Why are you forcing these trips down memory lane, when you know they all lead to the same place?” he elaborated.
“What are you–”
“You realize what all your little ‘memories’ have in common?” He snapped. “They’re all moments where we came ‘this’ close to being together, but inevitably one of us chickens out, or gets interrupted, or something else!”
“Well yeah but–”
“I don’t wanna look back at that!” He kicked a rock angrily. “I don’t wanna focus on the fact that we could’ve been together so much longer, that we wasted all this time,”
“Eddie–”
“No!” He shakes his head as he grabs your face. “What matters is that we know now. That we’re together now. That I love you, now,”
“Oh just now?” you half laugh, trying to ease the tension.
“You know what i mean, Y/N” he gave you a look.
“Yeah, I know…” you looked down as you played with your fingers.
“So what are you doing, huh?” he asked again.
“I don’t–” you looked up at him, confused.
“You wanna know what I think?” He answered his own question.
“I know you’re gonna tell me–”
“I think you wanna bring these up so you can ‘atone’,” he accused.
“Hmmmm, well–” He pretended to think.
“….Maybe…” his voice sank, the reality of your situation sinking in.
“You really think–”
“No, but–”
“For fuck’s sake Eddie, I almost died for you! You really think I’m just gonna go home next week and forget the love of my life?” you gestured to your leg for emphasis.
“I just–”
“I love you, Eddie Munso,” you pulled him close to you, stepping on a curb to be taller.
“Yeah, you think I don’t know that?” he grumbled.
“Why do you need to–”
“Because everyone in this town thinks that I can’t do this, and I wanna prove them wrong!” He gestured wildly.
“Just now, all of a sudden?” you didn’t mean to laugh, but the thought was idiotic to you.
“Excuse me?” he looked at you seriously offended.a
“Eddie you’ve been there three years longer than you’re supposed to be,” You half laughed. “Why now all of a sudden is it so–”
“Wow,” he scoffed with a hurt laugh. “Wow, okay,”
“Eddie come on–” you reached for him but he jerked away.
“NO,” He shouted. “I just want–”
“Why does it matter what anyone else thinks about you but me?” you exclaimed in distress.
“Because you weren’t around, Y/N!” he barked back.
“Wha–”
“I spent years trying to not care about what you thought of me, d’ya get that?” He laughed tearfully. “I spent years trying to downplay the shit you and your sheeple friends would say about me, do to me,” His blood began to boil just thinking about it.
“So excuse me if your opinion isn’t going to be the ‘only one that matters’!” he sputters angrily.
“Eddie, I–”
“Y’know, honestly at this point your brother’s opinion should matter to me more than yours does!” he cut you off. “He’s been nothing but nice to me, hell he admires the shit out of me! Shouldn’t you want me to impress him? Set a good example to him by walking across that stage, not giving up?”
“Oh yeah, Eddie,” you laughed. “I really think you flipping off the principal after a lifetime of senior years is a great example–”
“SHUT UP!!!” He screamed, causing you to flinch.
“Eddie–”
“Maybe I do, and I’ve just been pretending you’re not because I was so idiotically happy that you finally seemed to feel the way that I have,”
“That is so ridiculous–” you dismissed his thought.
You got mad for me trying to– atone, or whatever,”
Eddie looked away, trying not to accept what you were saying.
“And now I think I’m better than you? Th-That all of this has been some kind of sick prank? Like I have been risking my life for the past two days to just– what, make you feel like a moron?”
Eddie knew you were right, deep down he knew that. But for some reason all he could think about was how cruel you had been to him in High School, how you had always been too good for him. That none of this was real.
“I don’t wanna do this anymore–” He shoved past you and kept walking.
You knew what you had to do– you knew this wasn’t Eddie This was Vecna, finally getting to him.
“And I can’t fight this feeling anymore.
“No, I’m sorry,” you shook your head with your own tears falling down. “If I hadn’t made you feel that way Vecna wouldn’t have anything to hold onto,”
“You do whatever you feel you need to do, Eddie,” you went on.
“I just– I can’t stand the thought of leaving you here again, not for any reason or any amount of time. I just want– need, us to be together as much as we possibly can, because I lost so much time with you and I don’t wanna lose any amount of time with you, ever, ever again,”
“I know, i know,” he pulled you closer as you cried into his chest.
“And I want to stay here with you, I do. I just–” You cried.
“No,” he pulled you back to face him.
“No, don’t you think for one second of just– dropping out, to stay here with me. That is the absolute one thing I have dreaded about us being together, me holding you back,”
“You don’t–” you put a hand to his face.
“Maybe not now, but if you do that it will actually be true, yeah?” He gave you a sad smile. “So you– you do what you have to do, and I’ll do the same. And we’ll–”
“Now let’s get the hell out of here,”
—–
Eddie’s Trailer
Dustin, Max, and Lucas all paced around Eddie’s living room, the gaping portal hole in the middle of all of them.
“Where are they?” Dustin worried out loud.
“I mean, they were walking on foot Dustin,”
“But still,” he paced unnervingly. “I just want them–”
Suddenly sounds of running and chattering interrupted his thought.
“He wanted to stay with her–”
“Stay with her?!” Max gasped out of nowhere. “He wanted to stay with a dead body?!”
“MAX!!!!” Lucas hit her violently, gesturing to Dustin who was silently imploding, trying to take everything everyone was saying in.
“So you’re telling me I’ve lost my sister, and my best friend–?” Dustin stammered.
“I’m not your best friend?” Steve blurted out.
“REALLY, Steve?” Max scoffed.
“…It just came out,” He muttered, embarrassed.
“NOT the point!” Dustin yelled.
“You just let him stay there with– with Y/N?” He couldn’t bear to refer to you as just a body.
“We tried to–” Robin tried to explain to Dustin how they had pleaded with Eddie to come with them while he lay there sobbing, holding your ‘dead’ body.
“Dustin we really tried to–” Robin tried telling him.
I’m sorry if I’m a tad anxious when I’m literally steps away from freedom!”

——-
At The Portal
Steve was about to head up the rope when they all heard Eddie screaming. Even Dustin could hear it from across the trailer. He leaped up off the couch and ran to the portal.
“Steve!” He yelled. “Steve who was that?!”
“It’s Eddie,” Steve answered in disbelief, staring at the two of you racing towards them. “…And Y/N!”
“She’s alive?!” Dustin began to cry happy tears, he didn’t care who saw them. You were alive.
“She’s alive!” Steve smiled up at him. “And they’re coming! They’re gonna make it!”
“Thank God,” Dustin breathed a sigh of relief, wiping his tears away.
———-
You and Eddie were still almost to the portal where Steve was yelling encouraging words to you both.
“What the–” Eddie began to panic, looking at Steve and up at his friends, then back to Vecna.
“You SON OF A—” Eddie started to make a run at him, but Steve held him back as hard as he could.
“Don’t you fucking TOCH HER!!!” He screamed, angry tears stinging his eyes.
His cries fell on deaf ears, as Vecna began to float back up into the sky with a mighty evil laugh, disappearing into the red horizon.
‘What just–” Dustin looked down at Steve and Eddie. “What just happened?”
How were they going to save you now?
