we all know the scene where eddie decided not to climb up further on the rope and looking at dustin completely insane and changed his mind.

just imagine the reader was with them, standing next to dustin and looking at eddie completely in panic with tears swelling up her eyes because she is about to loose eddie, the man she secretly was so in love with but was being to much of a coward to tell him what she really feels for the metalhead. so is the opposite with eddie. he loved her and he wanted to do everything for safety. he almost lost her when she was in vecna‘s trance. if he wouldn’t have been there; she already would be dead somewhere in the dark, in the upside down, all alone.

reader is pleading eddie; to stop whatever he is thinking right now and just to come and climb up. tears rolling down her cheeks like a waterfall. but eddie is to stubborn and slowly sliding down the rope, standing on the matress again, looking at the door and then at her.

„ i need to.. i am sorry y/n . i want you to be safe and i promised you that i will do everything that you can live in peace without being afraid. i want to give you this live y/n.. i promised you it! “

eddie is saying it, tears swelling up in his own eyes but trying his best to hide it. the reader is panicking more and her breathe speeds up, her bottom lip is trembling. with a shake of her head she is saying;

„ but you promised me you will stay.. with me. you wanted to stay, you promised to stay and not to leave.. you can‘t do this to me eddie.. „ the reader says. her voice cracking in the end with hope it would change eddie‘s mind whatever he‘s up to. but there was no sign or movement of hope; not even a single one.

„ i am sorry y/n.. at least i know that you are safe is the only thing that matters to me.. please you need to understand.. please „

slowly the anger and madness creept up inside her body and her face fell into a frown, glaring draggers at eddie as he noticed the sudden behavior change. her breathing gets heavier. dustin‘s face turns into worry as he noticed it as well. eddie‘s eyes switched into something she couldn’t read exactly. „ y/n?.. „

„ you know what.. if you are so desperate to sacrifices yourself then fine, do it! if you feel so heroic and satisfied then .. then FINE! but you don‘t save my life with this shit eddie, okay?! should i die in front of you that you fucking listening to me huh? do you think that it saves my life when i see the person i love is literally dying and i can‘t fucking help!! is that what you think of saving my life or what you imagined?! if you think so, then fine be heroic! „

the reader says and storming off, tears now flow down her cheek as she hastily escaped the trailer of the person she loved and literally sacrifices himself for her own safety. she took off the dirty safety clothes for the upside down and threw down the weapons. tears still running down her cheeks as she just walked away that she didn’t even heard her name calling so many times.

arms wrapping around her waist and stopping her, turning her around and she felt those chapped, yet so soft lips against her. the smell of cigarettes and cheap cologne and sweat filled her nostrils. he came back, eddie came back to her, he decided to be with her and saving her life without getting killed. with a smile, she wrapped her arms around his neck and pulling him closer. afraid that she is just dreaming and loose him.
