VERY IMPORTANT™ TOWER OF MISTAKES UPDATE

And I'm pleased to announce that

THE HIATUS IS OVER!!! (mostly)

So, it's been kind of long since we got the last update, hasn't it? Well, you don't have to continue waiting so much anymore! I've got ideas, motivation and a remake release date!

First, lemme tell you what I've been doing meanwhile.

As many of you know there's a Samurai Jack AU comic on the works as well (Paws of Magic), I've been cooking with my 2 teammates and we're making sure to cook something great! ✨ Then, I heard about this "artfight" thing around tumblr, I checked it out and decided to join! It surely helped me improve my style and my ways of organizing works and schedules.

Now that I'm "free" (back at uni lol. no big deal tho), I can work on things like paws of magic and ofc, the tower of mistakes remake.

I've got some ToM updates:

The hiatus is gonna be over in less of a month. That is

September 6, 2024!

This way the remake's release date matches the original's and the fact that it matches my birthday (I had a feeling ToM could get important so decided to start it on my bday lol, I was kinda right wasn't it? omggg)

The art style gets some REAL changes!

I'm no longer going to use a sketchbook to draw the lineart and then color it digitally. The comic will now be 100% digital! Which means the page formatting and style will get an improvement boost!

I used to upload the pages every time I finished one, which led to rushing, hiatus and burnout. I'm not doing that anymore. I'll be working on a bunch of pages/a full chapter beforehand, then batch upload them from each chapter's release date to the last of its pages, 1 page a day. This way you guys don't get extremely long waits and I don't get extreme burnout 😭

So, these are the updates for Tower of Mistakes!

As for the rest of blog, I'll be drawing the ToM pages, doodling random stuff and working on Paws of Magic as well!

As for the Error Sans thing, I'm actually not personally a fan of all the crazy Sans AUs. Error Sans, Ink Sans, Dream Sans, Nightmare Sans, Fresh Sans, Geno Sans, Horror Sansss,,, uhg, I'm personally not a fan. So none of these world destroying Sans or other similar individuals exist in my Multiverse. So my squad doesn't have to worry about them <XD

My redesign plans for Kinger was just to give him a fluffier coat basically XD And I didn't have anything in mind for Jax..

Right now the main difference that I made up is that Undertale humans are significantly more powerful than Deltarune Humans.

DR Humans and Monsters are the same in terms of strength. For example, Kris and Susie's soul are of the same value and strength. Because they're both Lighteners. They're one in the same.

Meanwhile in Undertale, Humans and Monsters are very different creatures. Determined UT Humans, even determined children have the power to rewrite time. Meanwhile I headcannond that DR humans, even if they had determination.. cannot rewrite time like Frisk can.

All of this is completely made up and doesn't really align with the games, I'm aware- its just some fun XDD

I feel like canon Seam definitely does. But my Seam and Jevil don't have stuffing. The two of them are very much organic creatures with flesh and blood.

By father I assume you mean Natquik? If so, Barnacles was never angry or resentful towards him. My version of Barnacles thought Natquik was dead, because he disappeared many years ago and no one had any idea where he went..

Barnacles was rather grief stricken over Natquik. He wondered for years what happened to his old mentor and friend..

When it turned out he was alive, and had just been stranded in the Antarctic all these years? It was heartbreaking. Barnacles was so happy to see him alive but also so saddened by the situation he had been in for so long.. Barnacles immediately set to have the Gup-I repaired and a solid radio connection between it and the Octopod to be established.

Later on when he formed the Octo-agents. I headcannond that the very first person Barnacles went to recruit was Natquik. Telling him all the benefits of being an Octo-Agent. And he would say things like "If something ever happens to you out here, we have the funds and the means to be out here in less than an hour. If you're ever hurt o-or sick? We can be here. We can help you. You'd never be alone again.."

Natquik took the offer partially because Barnacles would clearly be more at ease if he did. But also to have a secure connection to the outside world? And if that connection is ever lost, a team of capable individuals will immediately go and search for him? It was just too good to pass up.

What's Foxy's grief stereotype/virus method? I'm not quite sure I understand the question so forgive me if I give the wrong answer.. But I'm thinking that means "what is Foxy's mental situation in the swap AU?" If that's the case, his mental state can be described in 1 sentence. "He refuses to move on."

Partial Swap Foxy was deeply effected by the loss of Freddy and Chica. So much so that he kind'a acts like.. they're still around.?

The other animatronics have cut out anything Freddy/Chica related in their lives. But for Foxy, the act of removing/avoiding everything Freddy/Chica related just makes the grief more painful. To him it feels like he's discarding their memory. Like doing that is saying they didn't matter or shouldn't be remembered. It just makes them feel more dead..

Foxy is the only animatronic that will go back to that old show stage. Sometimes in his darkest times he will talk to the stage. As if Freddy and Chica are still standing on it and can hear him..

When talking to Gregory, he is similar to Freddy. Acting all chipper and like nothing is wrong. Though if Freddy and Chica are mentioned.. he wouldn't avoid the subject like Freddy would. He would talk about them, even if it rips him up from the inside. He would answer all of Gregory's questions about them and tell him stories. Even if it brought him to tears and their memory was almost too painful to bear. Foxy refuses to let go of the past. And despite how painful it is, he keeps dragging the past around with him like a dead weight. Freddy does the same thing but as he drags the past around he refuses to look at it. If.. If that makes sense--

Basically- Freddy and Foxy are both stuck in the past. But Freddy refuses to acknowledge that he is. And Foxy openly acknowledges it, even if it kills him inside..

(Also note: The main obstacle that Foxy would pose to little Vanessa is that Foxy is faster than Bonnie. And as a Glamrock, Foxy is pretty tough. So if he finds out that Bonnie is hiding a child in his stomach hatch? Well.. he might just have the means necessary to catch Bonnie and rip her out.. :x )

For the second question! Partial swap Freddy is more openly miserable than Classic Bonnie, yes.. But he doesn't miss the singing and the spot light. He misses his friends and making kids happy.

Seeing how sad all his friends are.. seeing how messed up Foxy is.. how defeated Bonnie is.. that's what depresses him. That's what makes him cry..

He probably took some trash out of a bin, put the clothes in and then put the trash on top. Effectively burying the clothes so that no one would see it.

a starless clan protag headshots

i've been really invested in the current arc, and after reading thunder i was excited to set aside some time to test out my designs for the protagonists! these aren't necessarily my final designs for them.

recently i've been wanting to take my art in a bit more of an exaggerated cartoony direction, inspired by watching a bunch of early 2000s cartoons lately (can you tell which one inspired these particular drawings? XD). warriors might be a bit of a weird muse for that, but i can't turn down the opportunity to draw some cats!

nightheart's basically an off-black version of my firestar with hair. i still need to actually draw my firestar design, but i know what i want, so i based him off of that. the hair is just because i thought it'd be funny. i'm not too sure about his eye marking though; i give most of firestar's kin some kind of stripe coming from their eye, but i might change how nightheart's looks. something to experiment more with!

frostpaw is based on what i have in mind for curlfeather - again, haven't drawn curlfeather, but i have a pretty decent idea of what she looks like. lots of little curls incorporated throughout her design. she's also all gray to me but still a colorpoint, and has three little "freckles" on the left side of her face. i'm contemplating whether or not i want to give her a TNR ear notch in the final design.

sunbeam is probably the wildest of these three, at least in my opinion, and the one i'm probably not going to change too much because i like that about her. i don't remember exactly what inspired me, but i came up with the idea of her having a single eye with dark sclera months ago and it's stuck in my mind since. idk, maybe i just thought it would make the diamond marking pop a bit? she also only has eyelashes on the eye with yellow sclera. her back marking is a sun and the white beneath it represents a ray of sunlight.

i also had extra space so i made a doodle making fun of sunbeam and the traveling cats eating a corndog from sky. the fact that nightheart brought it up again in thunder to be sad about how he's away from her cracked me up. warrior cats eating human food and being astonished is really funny to me.

SOO today went very very nicely I think!!!! I stood up until like 5am-ish so I woke up suuuper late today xD ohoh and I watched this uhh christian movie. I don't even remember what it's called--the last miracle or something???? I DON'T EVEN REMEMBERRR but it was okay?? I dunno I only watch those movies bcz my great grandpa make me feel like I have to :p I haven't had to do any super religious stuff since I was around 7-8 y/o though xD watching christian movies isn't really the norm for me luckily !

I also took a nap which surprises like nobody AND I PLAYED SOME ACE ATTORNEY ON MY 3DS AS WELL AS SOME RAYMAN AND IM@S ON MY VITA SO THAT WAS SUPER SUPER FUN!!!! :D

my mom also got some italian food today so that was super cool!! AND IT'S SO GOOD I love italian food it's up there with japanese food for me yummy yummyyy !!!!

ALSO ALSOOO I got to practice with my cover group a little bit! not everyone could show but majority of us could :D and that was super fun~! I think our manager (saying that makes it sound so professional BUT IT WASN'T REALLY BAHBFHADSB) was losing patience with some of us though xD none of it was directed at me but a few of the members were falling behind in their lines--the rest of us reassured them that it was okay though!! :] a video was also recorded but I'm not allowed to share it sadly </3 maybe I can share my own parts sometime tho!

AAAAND SCENE! Wow wow! I didn't expect for what was supposed to be another doodle comic...end up with me putting a lot of effort-!

Life got in the way plenty of times- making me take quite a bit to finish this...even contemplating on just putting this on hiatus and just do something else-

...but I did it! I didn't let any discouragement, nerves and bad feelings get to me.

Now I'm sure many are wondering- HOW did this come to fruition? Simple: my friend pointed out that my next comic should focus on Kyurem's involvement in this! Many were wondering what sort of role the old dragon played after the previous comic (Family) and the art piece that accompanied it (The Giant Chasm)! So I went for a more artistic approach to this, making the artwork look like a tale at first, but then shifting to a more crude and cold atmosphere- I was going to polish these last nine pages, yet my friend would tell me that the sketchiness helps with the narrative- and honestly, she was right! Thus I tried to add some subtle sketchiness on pages 7-11 on part one! I wonder if people noticed that detail...? Anyways, time for some fun behind the scenes stuff...!

Here's the very first concept of my Original Dragon design, including his human form!

You can tell I did some adjustments in the final product, but I really wanted to make sure this dragon had characteristics of the tao trio in some way, plus-- I wished for him to have a unique sort of feel- kinda ethereal? I also gave a teeny bit of eastern dragon influence because...well...tao trio. The tail is actually inspired by a plasma engine!

It's why I gave it a bit of a swirl to it- ...kinda reminds me of ice cream- His human design...well, I wished to make sure he looked like the princes yeah-? He is their dad after all! So I made sure to reflect that- Same with his clothing as well! Ah right...I should show the design of our princes yes...?

WHOA WHOA WHOA-- those faces... Hmm... I wonder if people can start piecing together why this au is called the "Twin Princes AU" with this and what was told in this comic...? The design in itself was conceptualized by a rough idea my friend sent me a whiiiiiile back, but asked me to refine it further! Make it fancy, royal, elegant--!! You get the point. XD Though this is the finalized design i came up with as I brainstormed this comic! I hope I could convey how magical yet refined they are! As for Kyurem....oh my! What a reveal as well huh?

Well, there's certainly some familiar design choices...! And another clue to this whole puzzle- unless some of you have figured it out! Let me know through my ask box! ;D

I really didn't expect such a warm reception towards this au me and my pal cooked up last year. To think mixing concepts from our ocverse (GUARDiANverse) with pokemon could work so well...! I suppose fantastical elements mixing with another fantastical setting aint such a bad idea...! This AU has kinda expanded since it's conception... to a point of having other stories of other characters that take place in this version of the pokemon world!

Though for now, I may need a bit of a breather. 20 pages was QUITE the endeavor! Yet...that doesn't mean I wouldn't be opposed to tell more of my tale in other ways! Shoot me an ask, tell me! Who knows, I may answer with a doodle comic! For now, I'll just slowly cook my next idea! Maybe I should give the witness to these tales some spotlight...? Hello anon!

So I decided to doodle a concept for a ladybug redesign, cause I'm actually very fond of Argos' design! More on that later

ANALYSIS, FIXES, COMPLAINTS and a talk about the choices made vvv

Now, Ladybug's design is very simple, to the point where it's TOO simple tbh. I understand why they decided to make it like that - it makes it very iconic and easy to remember. However you can make a design iconic without having to oversimplify it

1. The theme

The thing is - I feel like the designers thought "What makes a ladybug, a ladybug? Well spots of course!" Thus excluding bug like features from her design. While you can tell that she is supposed to be a ladybug inspired superhero, it doesn't make her look exactly clever or interesting (her upgraded suit does fix some of these problems)

That's why I decided to give her antennae like hairbands, and a tailcoat like piece that resembles ladybug wings/shell, which also helps resolve another issue with her design -

2. Her silhouette

Silhouettes are very important to making a design interesting - the base design for ladybug, if you were to use a shadow of her silhouette has only her hair and hairbands really like, sticking out. That's an another reason I added the elements mentioned before to the concept.

🐞 I'm not a professional character designer, so take my complaints with a grain of salt.

🐞 The reason why I didn't redesign Argos instead, is because his superhero design fits the animal his kwami is, fits his character/style, has an interesting silhouette and is just a nice design, considering the pros of his design out balance his flaws. I'd maybe only change his hair. (XD)

Before reeve's reveal in the fic and once moon fever was mentioned in the fic and how it affects those who have it, I had (and still do kind of have) this little theory where not only can moon fever mess up with you and throw in hallucinations at you, but can also affect your physical appearance as well... here it is!

fun fact: when I finished doing the silly on the left I called it a night and went to bed. Then the next day i finished putting on my uniform then came here and check the latest in the hollow tag, only to be jumpscared by a depressed old man that looks like he could die from sleep deprivation at any moment XD

(it also BRUTALLY debunked my theory but let me be delusional for a bit if you don't mind)

The reason why they have galaxy-like spots is pretty obvious, because it's MOON fever, I took it literally and got carried away. moon fever is of course related to jackawock but it could also be related to the moon and stars......and galaxies..... ye

the spots act kind of like vitiligo but not really since they follow a pretty specific pattern before making their entrance

sometimes and entire limb or more can be full of these spots, but it's not that common :p

they also have horns, because yes, horns are pretty cool B) (I have a little hyperfixation with horns if you could not tell)

jackawock shapes the horns for those who are bound to be cursed, if you get a set of horns that is like on the side of your head or prevents you from sleeping in a more comfortable position.... then it must suck to be you I guess xd

there are very few times the horns can be perfect to sleep with and not be a burden, but it's very rare

jackawock can make a human's appearance as fucked up as he wants it to be if he feels very silly one day, but a beautiful kind of fucked up

because of this, those who are cursed use illusion stones to help cover up their appearance in order to not scare others

the only downside to these stones (that I can think of atm) is that their effect only works during daytime, and wears of at night

because of this, it's best to sleep during the day since that solves the issue of being stuck with an unfortunate set of horns and help them to at LEAST get some sleep, it's like the horns were never there to begin with! :D

the patterns will also be covered

by the looks of reeve's design, I'm just gonna assume those who are accursed with moon fever all have eye bags under their eyes and look like they haven't slept in a g e s XD

the galaxy spots can morph into weapons like the example in my doodles, because it's cool B)

although I said the lil guy on the right's horns might be what reeve's horns could look like, I feel like the appearance of the guy on the left is what reeve would look like without the illusion stone, just a bit more fucked up looking..... just a small portion. A part of me wants to believe this theory could come true in later chapters (i'm delusional :3 :heart_emoji:)

alright enough of me rambling, after thinking about how cool and terrifying of a concept moon fever can be, at what age does it usually develop? cause if remember correctly, reeve's case started when he was still a teenager or when he became an adult (speed reading is bad for your memory guys), if that's the case then MAN he's been tormented by hallucinations for a long.. LONG time.

why do I always wait till last minute to start doing things like drawing?

You don't understand how little The Hollow fandom engages with each other. Someone drawing things for my AU? A dime a dozen! This is the highest order of a compliment to me!!! Please do this more often?!?! I don't care if this was just debunked theories I literally love all of this and I'm debating if I should add some aspects to this in the fan-fiction after all! To answer one question for you and those on my blog. Vanessa and Reeve in Realm of The Forgotten are not necessarily dating. They are friends with benefits. RTF Reeve and Vanessa are both very sad 30-year-olds that hold immense guilt and shame and disgust and feel they share a responsibility with what happened with Adam and what happened after Adam was comatose. They view themselves as Lilith and Brutus. They're both very stuck in the past. They drink mead and get together every family gathering and then mostly write each other letters otherwise. They do care for each other, it's just...very much closely platonic, but also they are "comforting" each other. Plus Vanessa really really really wants a child and Reeve is willing to help Vanessa achieve that goal; He heavily isolates himself in his temple. He's a man that wouldn't mind relieving some stress.

I'm SO glad, that in the new drawing, Marco finally looks like the twink he always was, but still enough meat on the bones to look NORMAL lmao, can't say that about the 4 other sketches of me trying to redraw this ref for years. xD (why yes, his wings took forever, why do you ask? /lh)

ONE THING I ALWAYS WANTED TO DO. IS PUT EVERY DETAIL I NEEDED ON A BIG REF. SO I DID! I've drawn closeups of the boys's eyes, I've drawn Finn's tongue so that I don't need to constantly remind myself what his blush and flesh colours were sdfkldsgkl, I FINALLY denoted their heights, so people know that they're tall TALL dudes (and that Finn obviously will struggle w/ his lanky mfing legs, we LOVE giving a middle-aged man heart attacks once he reaches his 40's!!!)

ANNDDD ALSO SOME SIDE VIEWS OF THEM. The last side-view I had of F & M, looked REAL bad. Like, Marco's face looked WAY too stereotypically European (to my fault bc surprise surprise not many African people live in Europe so I had poor frame of reference but I've been fixing it via looking up images online instead, at least it helps but yeah, I have a hard time so far unfortunately💀), Finn's was just... B u c k e t. NOT LIKE HANDSOME BUCKET. BUT JUST BUCKET. IT NEEDED FIXING (fun fact I accidentally made Finn have the most attractive jaw shape for men according to beauty standards and I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW I JUST WANTED THIS MAN TO LOOK S Q U A R E AND THAT'S IT, MINECRAFT STEVE HAS MORE RIZZ THAN MOST MEN OFFICIALLY).

Can you tell more about your Fate redesigns? Like your Penth, Hektor, Paris/Apollo, and Astolfo?

OKAY so first Imma talk about Paris/Apollo because Alexander-Paris is one of my most in-depth designs ATM and also explains some of Hektor's concepts!

Ignore that all I can in find my camera roll are SUPER old doodles of him lmao XD this ask really making me go through doodles from last year

So firstly is the color symbolism! I noticed in FGO that his design is very light-colored, and while that's interesting, I thought it would be more symbolic to have the main colors be dark as to point towards how he inherently can't escape his fate and actions as an adult, even in a child/teenage body, and also as a sort of symbol of how dark his future is. Adding on, Paris is VERY SPECIFICALLY summoned as having a child's body but the memories of his entire life, and I had the idea that the darker colors also show that he knows more than he lets on/he isn't innocent. The gold and such are to point towards him being a prince and technical demigod, and the blues are just in general for color diversity

With his horns and wings: Both Hektor and Paris in my AU are biologically Apollo's children (reference to some versions of the Troy Boys actually being his biological children instead of Priam's), so the horns and wings symbolize that (which Hektor doesn't have, more on that later). Apollo-Sheep's "humanoid" design concept actually has the wings and horns too (just bigger and more fancy lmao). Another Fun Fact: Both Hektor and Paris have some sun/fire related abilities in my AU, although it's slight

Next Paris and Hektor's eyes! Yep! I put thought into eye color! Paris' eyes are orange, while Hektor's are black. HOWEVER, when they use their NPs, Paris's eyes darken to black and Hektor's glow orange! Prominently, I honestly just thought Hektor having glowing eyes when using his NP would be Fun and Sexy XD However then i was like "...Okay but what if... Paris had opposite? What if... Symbolism?" And this idea is so cool to me because of how they can connect!!!! Hektor's glow because he's deemed to be Troy's hope, while Paris's darken because he's deemed as Troy's downfall!!! Sorry I just love how I can make the brothers contrast each other and how they can be interpreted AAAAA

I also made Paris's hair darker while Hektor's hair lighter so that they would look more similar to each other/look more like brothers, same with them both having wavy hair and the eyelash part on the bottom eye (it's kinda hard to see in the pictures RIP). I just wanted them to be a lil match-y. They also both have beauty marks that mirror each other! I imagine both of the Troy Boys to have thicker bodies

I gave Paris some armor parts as well as to look more similar to Hektor, while I also kept the cute dress parts because the cute stuff just seem to be more of his own style and I think That's Neat. The symbol on his skirt piece is Romeo's command spell symbol, matching with a headcanon I had posted some time ago about the command spells appearing somewhere in a Servant's design

Paris also has these sorta long-sleeve glove things due to me originally adding it to my Jekyll/Hyde redesign (which I need to remake) and Paris, in my AU, is one of Hyde's best friends, so I thought it would be cute for them to have a lil match-y thing XD

With the black wool, I thought it would be interesting to show physically of Paris being more of the "black sheep" of his family, especially considering he wasn't raised as a prince, he was raised as a sheep herder. And how he was sorta cast aside as a baby due to the prophecy of him becoming Troy's downfall

This is my current concepts for Hektor (the graphite sketches are a lot older than the digital btw, but good a good idea about his arm and shoes design), but it needs some work XD I want to add a lot more later on, but this is a good start I think

with Hektor, color-wise I tried to make his pallette somewhat a mix between opposite and similar to Paris. For him, the dark colors represent more of his death. He doesn't have the horns or wings anymore due to Achilles dragging his corpse, too. I think I posted some old sketches before of the back of his head having the broken bases on his horns. I would imagine his back having scarring and some skin disfigurement where his wings once were as well

With the red, specifically the red wool and the red gradient in his hair, I wanted it to represent the blood that was shed during the Trojan War. Plus, it also contrasts against Paris's blue colors, pushing more of that contrast between the two

With Both the Troy Boys' personalities, Paris still has that childish demeanor about everything, but he's definitely fully Aware and could manipulate if he really wanted to. However he doesn't really, unless if he wants to get away with childish things (like sneaking candy). He's a bit cheeky at times, and in general is A Lot like his canon FGO self. He likes being helpful when he can. Although something I added is that he Hates romance/romantic things. He thinks it's gross, but also his view point is due to the Trojan War and his whole thing with Helen.

Hektor is a mix of things that's hard to explain. He's similar to his canon FGO self. The thing is that FGO itself states that he has a facade going on, which pretty much is what For Funsies AU also does, so there isn't much for me to add XD Although I think in my AU, his facade is a bit different. Other than that, he's silly goofy as usual

i could have sworn I had pictures of her that are more recent/go more in-depth with her design ideas, but I can't find any TwT I'll talk more about her personally redesign since there isn't much physically I can exactly say

Next with Beserker/Penth, her concepts are still definitely a WIP. The general idea I have for her is this 16 year old being very elegant yet absolutely able to kick your ass with the slightest provoke. She's beefy, I would imagine (I really wish I had better sketches of her). I kinda want her to lean more towards having a "royalty" look yet also young and armored up. Iirc in Canon FGO she literally has herself be summoned at a younger age so Achilles can't flirt with her, so I decided to lean on her looking young. I also gave her more furs and armor coverage since she's a warrior and also the whole thing with her fighting in a bikini just. Doesn't sit right with me.

Personality-wise, I think she would try to act very mature and serious, but she's Not immune to Acting Her Age. Aka being a goofy teenager. She definitely tends to butt heads with Paris because he keeps stealing her hair comb. I definitely think she's super smart though, considering the business she has going on in Canon FGO. However, even smart teenagers can be silly (as a treat). She's definitely still has that Extreme personality trait, like tending to take things too far and being rather hot-headed. I like her dynamic with Mr. Utterson because he'll be like "Thank God you're here. Maybe you can talk some sense into Paris" and immediately Penth is trying to knock Paris out with her fist because it's faster and more efficient XD (also as revenge for stealing her comb). She's wonderful, although I'm still working on her dynamic with others and how she generally acts

i can't find any of my Astolfo doodles other than this Really Old One TwT (HELP IM BEING SUBJECTED TO MY OWN DRAWINGS)

In general, color-wise I'm thinking of making their outfit+armor VERY vibrant with Many colors to the point it's gaudy and dramatic. I kinda still want a cutesy look with them, but also messy and disorganized to show more of the sorta "frantic" and "can't sit still" vibe they have. It's hard to change anything about Astolfo because they're already a pretty interesting character with a solid design and personality. Anyway, as you can see in the drawing, I tried making their hair Super Messy. I imagine them being so energetic that their hair is never done in a "proper" way

Chroma Challenge!

So, a Discord group I'm in did a little challenge. You get a palette or a color and you have to create something with just that. I think it's really meant for artists, but we decided both artists and writers could do it.

And to challenge myself, I did BOTH.

I did a doodle and a drabble. And because I am me, I just created more Sailor Moon content. I am a one trick pony, folks. XD

When I saw my palette, I immediately knew what I wanted to do. And it involves Camp Universe! One of my favorites.

If you did not read my Camp Elysian fic, you can click there to do so. You do not *need* to read it for this, but you can, and you should because it's fun and nostalgic. Anyway! The short version to catch you up is: the gang all work at a summer camp, Kayden is the main camp counselor. Morgan hates his guts at the beginning. Morgan ends up helping Serena and Darien sneak around because there is a strict no dating rule. Kayden does find out. By the end of the fic, Morgan doesn't hate Kayden any more, and he no longer things she's some dumb kid. I'll probably put the drabble up on A03 at some point, but this will do for now. It's not polished or beta'd. BUT. It did feel really good to write *something* after such a long time of not doing so. So, enjoy, or don't. *shrug*

“Excuse me, Your Tallness.”

Kayden’s eyes crept to the now cracked opened door, to greet the grinning blonde who had let herself into the cabin. Without knocking. But that was Morgan. He could let it slide. Her arrival was no surprise–as he’d heard her coming through the opened windows, chatting loudly as she always did with some other camper. So no, it was no surprise. He hadn’t realized it was already so late, though. He wasn’t quite ready to leave.

They had plans. Well, she had plans. He–he simply just followed her whims. “Are you ready yet?”

Today’s whim conflicted with his duties. “Uh,” he began, setting down the paperwork he’d been looking through into a neat pile. “One sec.” He looked at his watch, and then instinctively reached for his red clipboard. “Nuh uh,” she protested loudly. “No Clippy.”

He stilled and looked to her, hands on her hips, her finger wagging in the air as if he was a child reaching for the last cookie. He wasn’t sure what his face had contorted into, but she giggled and bounded over, pushing the clipboard back down to the old, stained coffee table. Then, she took his hand and began trying to tug him from the worn sofa. He knew not to reach for it again.

“I promise we will be back before you have to do your rounds.”

“Like the last time you ‘promised’?”

She rolled her eyes and tugged harder on his arm. “Just come on.”

And he did.

She interlaced their fingers, her hand so small in his, and began quickly leading him down a path of crushed gravel that led away from camp. Morgan was radiant and full of excitement, the last of the day’s sunshine glistening in her hair. He however could not help feeling like everyone was watching him. Watching him get pulled away from camp this close to lights out. What would they say to the one enforcing the rules sneaking off? He could hear the gossip already. Maybe he could come up with some lie? Some emergency he was taking care of. Morgan would tell him to stop worrying, that no one cared, and he shouldn’t care if they said anything anyway.

But he cared.

Mostly he cared because he hadn’t told his grandfather that they were dating yet, and he felt this terrible guilt for setting a bad example and breaking a rule. All behind the back of the greatest man he’d ever known.

But the thought of being away from her all summer was too much. They’d already spent so much time apart.

So, he didn’t disclose their relationship. He was so worried his grandfather would say no. That the rule was there for a very good reason, and grandson or not, he would not allow it. She could not stay. And what would they have done then? They could have continued just seeing each other on random weekends, talking on the phone after 8 every night, but Morgan was a pretty girl. And how long until the novelty of a long distance relationship wore off? How long until someone who lived near her started showing her attention? Before another Aaron showed up? How long before he wasn’t enough?

All this sneaking around was not as fun as Darien and Serena made it out to be the previous summer. It had only been two weeks, and he was so worried people would find out. That they’d rat him out and Morgan would have to go. He knew Jayden would never, but if he jokingly said he was going to tell just to get out of work one more time, Kayden might snap. Maybe he should just tell his grandfather? Rip the bandaid off. Get Jayden off his back. Stop lying and hoping to not get caught. His grandfather would understand, right? Morgan wasn’t just his girlfriend–

“Hello? Earth to Kayden.”

Kayden blinked. He hadn’t realized they’d arrived. Morgan raised a brow and cocked her head slightly to the side. “There you are. What were you lost in thought about?”

“Nothing,” came his casual response. But not nothing. Everything. Morgan was everything. Professing that though–

“Mmhm. Well, forget about nothing, we’re here!” she exclaimed, proudly showing off her surprise.

His hand felt cold with the loss of contact. Kayden looked around for the first time. He recognized this spot. He had caught Morgan chaperoning lunches for Darien and Serena many times here. He’d helped her cover for them here. Let them have their time in this not-so-secret make out spot. Those were the times he got to know Morgan more, as they talked while keeping lookout for the couple. When he realized she was more than she seemed.

She must have come before she gathered him, he thought. There was a quilted blanket–where she stole it from he did not know–covering a patch of grass between an open area of trees. It was quite serene this time of day, the noise of camp dying off, the shadows dancing along the ground.

She grinned when he noticed, said “tada” in her over-the-top way, and sat down. “Take a seat,” she said while patting the blanket next to her. 

She looked so pretty sitting there, the last rays of the light kissing her face and the long shadows from the trees covering the surrounding area like a blanket. He joined her and was rewarded with her leaning into him. He wrapped an arm around her and enjoyed the warmth.

“It’ll be dark soon.” He didn’t know why he said it. He probably ruined the mood, and he instantly regretted it, but the weight of getting back on time was heavy on his mind. He couldn’t help it.

“I know,” she said quietly, leaning closer, looking out toward the slowly retreating light.

He hadn’t figured out exactly what the point of coming out here was yet, other than just being alone together. Which he didn’t mind. He could be a little late for that. He leaned over and tenderly kissed the spot on her neck just below her ear. 

Instead of reciprocating, Morgan laughed and pushed him away. “Stop! You’re going to miss it!”

Kayden was confused. Why were they out here, of all places, if not for a little fun?

Morgan rolled her eyes and leaned back into his frame. “You remember when my family took me for vacation out of state for Spring Break?”

He nodded. They’d absolutely annihilated their plans to see each other with that spur  of the moment trip.

“On the phone one night while I was away, you described how pretty the sunset was.”

He remembered. After their plans had been ruined, Kayden had offered to come help his grandfather do some spring renovations. The hard labor was a welcome distraction.

“And you said, you wish I could have been there.” She paused, and he pulled her in close. “So, I wanted to share a sunset with you, since we couldn’t before.”

“I do remember,” he replied, kissing the top of her head. “Thank you for remembering.”

He would remember this as the night he resolved to tell his grandfather about Morgan. And how much he loved her.

I was just gonna do this as a comment on that post, but it got too long. XD

Yeah, I think most fandoms are shit to artists lately. I don't know if you remember, @eileen-crys, but even before Nenu came onto the scene, I made a post about how the only people who gained traction with their art in the Queen fandom were the ones who did hyper-realism. That wasn't a slight on those artists, but on the people consuming art.

I actually had to delete that post because of how much people were misunderstanding it. I love the hyper-realistic art. But watching other art get passed over because of the wow factor was just so demoralizing.

The point is, when people treat art like a commodity that they shop around for, and not a work created over the course of hours by a real person, consumers feel quite justified in saying "that sucks" and moving on. They review art posted out of love like it's an amazon product, or they completely ignore artists they don't like in hopes that they stop producing art all together, thus "leaving room" for the "better art." Even though art doesn't work that way.

I draw cartoons. It's what I like. I know I can draw realistic portraits, because I have before, but that's not fun for me. Of course those cartoons are stylized. Of course they don't look exactly like the actors/musicians/whatever. That doesn't mean it sucks, for fuck's sake.

There are some fandoms that love stylized and cartoony art. So I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the Game Grumps fandom as being absolutely stellar when it comes to art of all types. I mean, Arin was just as excited about my pixel Final Fantasy portrait of him as he was of a photorealistic drawing of him and Dan. And right now, his favorite artist draws little line doodles.

But overall, damn. And this was just proven to me 100% by the sheer number of people who thought it was fine to tell me my art sucked because it didn't meet their standards.

I can't tell what setting this Minecraft world has proper. It has a certain medieval feel with thibgs like monsters, dungeons, castles, dragons, hell, magic, potions, constructs and the outworldy end. Yet there are modern appliances, talk about planets and modern concepts. The backgrounds and wordings contradict and don't always fit. It takes a bit from the fantasy and the survival feel base minecraft offers.

Ok, I wanna answer this question first as a Mun, cuz I think it's my duty to do so! (Imma tell u now that some stuff I'll say in here are pretty much my point of view on some stuff, and they're pretty much my headcanons, so, yeah!)

So, here we go!

Why there are some concepts that doesn't seem to fit in here, you ask, my dear, Anon. Well, the answer is very simple!

Everything is set in a different time-line. I mean, some stuff related in the bios of my characters has happened like, many years ago, even more than a normal human being could live for. They've been here for MANY YEARS.

They're pretty much answering in a more... Uhhh... Distant-not-so-distant future?? Cuz some species can live over 100+ years, and some other cannot die unless killed (Ex. The Undead). Minecraft is a VERY old planet... And is definitely NOT the same Earth we all know.

Earth and Minecraft are NOT the same, nor even the Universe in here. You can view it as some kind of "Alternative Universe" if you want lol

Also, the modern stuff you see, aren't THAT modern as you think. Some stuff are still underdevelopment, like, when humans were inventing the first fridge?? or the first TV?? The first Light bulb??? Idk xD Even the fridge itself, is made out of iron blocks, a well preserved ice block, some Iron doors and probably a dispenser/barrels with some buttons/levers so it'll open lol You gotta use your imagination, bud!

I can assure you, they DON'T see their world as if they're in a game. For them, they live their life as if they are living like you! There's no such thing as "Game Mechanics" or "Game Rules", there's no "Health bar" or "saturation bar" or "Servers" or "Chat". Humans aren't called "players", The Nether isn't called Hell.

They're living their lifes, they're not living a game. Cuz this is not a game for them, as the real life isn't a game for you!:]

Also, another answer for some stuff is also: I've based much of the tale in my very old point of view when I first created these silly OCs and their adventures (And that was when I was 10yo... In 2010 lol)... So some stuff might seem pretty outdated, or maybe they don't make so much sense anymore not only for that, but because I always work in a way where I mostly break the laws of the canon just so some stuff could "make sense" in the universe of this tale... I have been thinking about an smiling over this ask all day I'll have you know anon.

I'll talk about Blush I Dawn since it's the idea that finally launched me from sheets and sheets of half written plot lines and funny quotes, to actually trying my hand out at fic again!

I love Blush because for a hot minute this fandom was convinced Twilight was immediately going to get corrupted by Dink's wound and that the chain would have to find him, I saw a lot of really cool ideas about it but never saw anyone talk about what seemed like the most likely way Dink could go about it.

In TP you learn when you get to Kakariko that the Shadow Beasts have the terrible power to turn people into servants of Zant like themselves. It's a somber moment in game that makes Link getting grabbed at the beginning so much worse than one would think at first glance.

So I figured, if we already have enimies that can turn you into one of them from TP, why not see just how Twilight would deal with that? Especially if he keeps his mind. It was one thing running from Ordon as a Wolf, knowing that the villagers have no way to connect him to the animal, how much more would it hurt to run from his brothers of the sacred sword? Who have seen enough weird stuff to actually have a shot at figuring out who he is?

But what has been the most fun writing it has been discovering how much I love putting raw, visceral emotions on paper, having people struggle with feelings so big they feel like they're choking on them, all while trying to keep a level head and protect others!

I also had a lot of fun sketching little Shadow beat Twilight doodles where I had to figure out just what sits behind the mask :)

That's probably enough rambling from me, since I know Blush is my fic that's long enough to make people wary of reading now XD

HI, Luce! Can I be sappy for a moment? I just wanted to thank you a lot for making the discord server and your AU in general! It was already fun getting into the DA fandom, but getting into the server has been a whole other level of fun! I often wake up and really want to check it immediately in the morning to see what has happened while I was asleep. I almost didn't join at first because I am shy, though I'm glad I decided to do it anyways (training myself to get over social anxiety by interacting more, can't even tell you the amount of times I force myself to hit send XD) because it's always a great time all around! I've met some very nice people through it and even if it hasn't been open that long it really just became a nice kind of familiar very quickly <3 Your AU and all it's variations are so incredibly fun to discuss and provides so much inspiration and blorbo thoughts that accompany me throughout the day! I'm just so very glad we coincided in the same corner of this very vast internet! I'm sending you a giant hug and all the good vibes for your day <3

Because, well, yeah! I love the server!! Initially I wasn't too sure about the idea, thought I'm getting ahead of myself, that there isn't actually that kind of interest - but I'm glad I asked friends in dms and also that one post on here and then made it happen, because it's just so so nice!

I'm a very chatty person by nature (when I'm comfortable), and I just. I love that I can just blurt out a thought and then y'all jump on it and make it better, enable me to make more, and make your own!! All while there's not this pressure for it all to be fully fleshed out already. It's more a dialogue, a development, and sparking so so many of the things that do make it on here also!

I'm of course not trying to make the server like, a dlc to tumblr content or anything, I don't mention it on here to tease anyone who isn't in it, I'm just a lot more comfortable chatting on there and I love the server! It feels like a, well, a cozy little cove! Everyone is nice and it's a fun place to show off anything new in life, blorbo related or not, or hanging in vc - I've actually done streams! With me doing art in my mornings there's just not that many people who could join in the first place, but in the server it's a nice little opt in option that allows for chatting on the side! I'm a little self conscious still about my art process but it's just so so neat to have people react immediately to what I'm cooking up? Like with the CS comic yesterday hehehe, telling/ later showing the twist as I'm sketching it? Hearing the reactions out loud? Definitely worth it!

And it's just. A comfortable little corner, doesn't feel too public, and even on the lurkier days it's just really cool to see the chaos and people sniping each other, it's a little community and I love it! I love seeing the little spontaneous doodles and the agentsona thoughts that wouldn't make it on tumblr simply from the way this site is set up, it's just chatting and I love it very very much. It's really really reassuring for me too because of that, it's direct interaction and wanted direct interaction from both sides! Because yeah, social anxiety (and also rejection sensitivity) is a bitch sometimes and tumblr is still a blogging website, not a chat website! (tumblr DMs are my mortal enemy, and not just because of the weird ones I got before)

So tldr; I'm also very very happy that we found ourselves overlapping spaces in the world wide web, because I am so happy to be here with you!

Also, you've been shown as online the entire time, I do hope you slept well despite whatever your phone is doing FHDJS

Honestly I find talking about myself like that so hard, so probably very little before turning the conversation back on them XD

However, in the interest of the game - that yesterday I got to cuddle 3 10-week old ish miniature aussie doodle puppies that my sister was fostering for a few days, and they were the softest cutest things in the world. I had to lay down to rest when I was at her place post-driving and two of them cuddled with me the whole time and it was amazing.

Also because I've talked with like 3 people about it in the past few days, probably that I have a wedding to go to in March and I'm stressed about clothing XD formal clothing my beloathed!!

Men's formal clothing XD (sort of. I hate learning about clothing. So take that with a grain of salt.)

Also digital art! I very recently started noodling around with it, and it's been a fun exploration. It's really different from traditional art, and it's pretty hard on my eyes in a way traditional art isn't (screens ugh), but I've really enjoyed learning it so far.

Ohhh good question. Honestly there's a bunch that fit the "I loved this in a certain time and place, but for reasons don't want to interact with it any more." Harry Potter springs to mind, as does a lot of Johnny Depp's stuff. (Fuck both JKR and Depp, honestly).

There's also some stuff though that's more along the lines of "I adored this, but it was hard to watch for various reasons, so I probably won't watch/read it again" lol. The Bear was a tv series that is probably this for me - it was fucking amazing, absolutely loved it - but the stress was very high!! I probably won't watch the first season again lol.
