Just remembered independent plants don't need to eat or drink to survive which makes Vash stealing Wolfwood's (and Meryl's) food and being grumpy over Wolfwood drinking his water so much funnier. He's just out there causing problems for no reason other than he's just a bit of a bitch sometimes and I love him.

I think it's time wolfwood got pregnant from one of the twins( or both lol). He's got some Plant DNA to allow for those kinds of shenanigans, and he's had it too good for too long. More Ww mpreg needed! And Knives too for that matter lol. Thoughts?

Gently presents you with a summary of what happened to WooWoo in a hybrid AU I write with a @sunsetstarsxo (warning for angsty angst), also this is very livwood situation.

Knives chose Wolfwood and Livio to be his guard dogs, obsessed with them being pure wolf breed. But, seeing how they were fond of each other all the time, and how Knives has the need to control everything and everyone in that AU, he gave them to Conrad for the experiments. And he got alpha Nico changed into an omega, so alpha Knives could have him not just as a guard dog but his favorite pet to play with.

Skipping over some details here cause it would take forever, it so happens Knives finds himself another favorite pet – Vash, and kinda forgets to bother Nico and when Nico's heat hits, Knives is not around to help. But Livio is.

You can imagine what happens after, but tada, none of them expected Nico to get pregnant because Knives' seed never took so they all assumed he just *can't* get pregnant. But there he is, absolutely scared out of his wits, because not only he wants to run away with Livio so they can be finally together but if it's Knives', he will take the pup and Nico won't see them ever. Not to mention that the idea of Knives raising his child is a terrifying one too.

But not just that – there's this internal struggle from the reality of it too. Once upon a time, Nico wanted to have children. But he was meant to be their father, not their mother. And it was supposed to be with Livio (yep, you know it when Knives found out he lied and told them it's HIS, cause god forbid he'd let them have something nice together), not with Knives who treats them like pets.

And Nico is *the Punisher* now, how could he ever be a parent? How is he going to raise that little thing? He's a soldier, a guard dog, they call him hellhound sometimes – that's as far from the word *mother* as one can get. He hoped for it once upon a time but that's gone, all he knows now is to obey orders and handle rifles and rip throats open with his fangs. There is also the body dysphoria aspect, terrible circumstances and him just generally not feeling like he is going to do a good job at all – if Knives even LETS HIM spend time with that child.

He is also struggling with having to quit smoking which was his coping mechanism AND a way to stick it to Knives cause Knives always hated when Nico smoked. He secretly gives in a few times, then spirals for feeling guilty and like this is a showcase reason why he's going to be a terrible, terrible mother.

Fast forward, some incredibly angsty things happen, Knives gets so pissed at Nico he attacks him, that sends him to premature labor, they rush him in, the baby is born. And since Knives isn't there, Livio stays with Nico and he is the one holding the baby first because Nico is just out of it and lo and behold, the baby has GOLDEN eyes, ladies and gentleman. Who is the only person around with golden eyes? Yep, that's right, Livio. So putting two and two together, getting incredibly pissed for the lies Knives told him and what he did to Nico and just all of it, Razlo comes forth and goes and kicks Knives' ass so hard he nearly doesn't make it if not for Legato (Knives' wife he married for status) stepping in.

They escape, taking Vash with them, they make it to Hopeland and settle there, Nico and Livio seeing Miss Melanie after like fifteen years since they were taken by the Eye of Michael. And there, Nico has time to struggle with the questions like should he leave his daughter (Zazzie) here because Miss Melanie is way more capable of caring for a child and return to July to finish what Razlo started - kill Knives? Or should he try to be a good mother? Is Zazzie better off with him or with her? Is she better off living on the run with her parents, or is she better off being an orphan who doesn't even know who her parents are?

He almost makes run for it but eventually decides to stay with her and Livio, remembering what it feels like to be an orphan wishing for parents. And then, despite him believing being a soldier only, he turns out to remember more than he thought from his Hopeland days, knowing children better than anyone from back when he was everyone's older brother in the orphanage, and he turns out to be the best mama in the world.
