I have declared war on backgammon for no reason. I normally have a reason to hate whatever I've decided to have several bones to pick with on a given day when I really need to be petty and awful, but today, I just don't like backgammon for no particular reason.

Okay fine I'll come up with a reason.

If backgammon came out today and wasn't instead the descendant of many varieties of tables games, you know the board would have pegs and rings instead of (I don't know the actual terms) checkers and isosceles triangles, and you'd put the rings on the pegs, and it would be a pain to pack up because you just know the pegs would screw in and strip super easily and they'd get all wobbly and it would be bad.

This is not true of our timeline's backgammon, but based on the theoretical direction it could have gone, but didn't, I have a problem with it. I have made up a reason for my hatred of backgammon today. Thus, my arbitrary and probably short-lived problem with backgammon is justified.
