OC kiss week

Skyhold was a vast fortress. Emairi couldn’t help but feel overwhelmed. He found a quiet place to be alone, ironically it used to be an Andrastian chapel but now it was just an empty stone room. Emairi was leaning on the wall, thankful that Mihreen had offered to watch Sulevin for a few hours. He covered a small section of the floor with ice and began sliding around the room. It wasn’t often that he got the chance to be this silly but he allowed himself the indulgence every now and again. It was only when he heard a chuckle that he realized someone had seen him. Emairi jumped in surprise and spun around. It was Camris, newly named Inquisitor.

“Hello Inquisitor, do you make a habit of being a voyeur?” He asked with a smirk.

A blush almost as red as the Inquisitor’s hair spread across his face, “No I uh, you just seemed happy. I didn’t want to ruin that.”

Now Emairi felt bad, he walked over to the Inquisitor and clapped his shoulder,

“You didn’t ruin anything so don’t you worry your pretty little head.” Emairi winked at the Inquisitor, hoping for once he would realize that while almost everything he said was sarcastic his flirting was not.

Camris looked at Emairi with pleasant surprise, “Why Emairi I think that might be the nicest thing you’ve ever called me.”

“I’ve called you an ass,” He said as he slapped Camris’s ass to emphasize the point, “I’d say that’s another nice thing I’ve called you.”

Camris somehow got even redder, but trying to keep his cool he said, “You all talk or is there anything else you can do with that tongue?”

Emairi smirked devilishly, “I thought you’d never ask.” He grabbed Camris by the lapel of his jacket. Their noses crashed into each other before their lips got the chance. Emairi pulled the Inquisitor further into the room and pressed him against a wall. He wanted nothing more than to see Camris’ oh-so-neat bun completely undone. Emairi’s hands found their way into Camris’ bun and managed to set it free. Emairi pulled on his hair and Camris moaned. Emairi locked eyes with the Inquisitor,

“I am going to take full advantage of this knowledge.” He said. Camris pulled Emairi’s face into his own, their teeth clacked and Camris discovered Emairi had a tongue piercing. Emairi bit Camris’ lip. Camris buried his hands in Emairi’s hair causing Emairi to moan into another messy kiss. Emairi pulled on Camris’ hair. Camris tossed his head back, exposing his pale neck. Emairi bit him marking him, claiming him. He breathed frost onto the bite, biting him a second time while Camris’ hands made their way down Emairi’s body. Emairi straightened his back and pressed his body against Camris’ taking note that the Inquisitor had at least one hand on Emairi’s ass,

“My my, the Inquisitor certainly does enjoy being bad doesn’t he?” Emairi asked.

Camris was breathless. Emairi’s eyes had a sinful glint to them and one of his fangs was just slightly visible behind his curled lips.

“Oh Gods yes.” Camris breathed.

“Good thing I have a thing for bad boys.” Emairi said pulling Camris’ face into his again. Right in the middle of the kiss Emairi stepped away, Camris would never admit it but he whined, it was a little pathetic. Emairi smiled,

“I think we should find somewhere a bit more private, and perhaps a bit more horizontal. Don’t you agree?” He asked.

Camris ran his hands through his hair, “Yes, I think that’s a brilliant idea.”

5) Is your inquisitor jealous that both the warden and Hawke have a mabari hound? 

actually my inquisitor is a cat person!! he doesn’t Mind dogs and does find them very cute/fun but, the bigger the dog, the more nervous he is, so mabari at first make him a bit......... on edge omg

6) What would they think of each other’s combat skills/techniques?

my warden (electra surana), hawke (dani hawke), and inquisitor (camris lavellan) all think that each other is great omg

i have Deeper Lore about my surana and lavellan (in my canon, they’re first cousins but don’t know about each other till inquisition-era) and i like to think that my warden and hawke have met before, but my hawke specifically really vibes with my inquisitor and i always liked the thought of her taking him under her wing, especially bc he reminds her of herself before uhhhh bad shit started happening, so she’s very much like “okay i am making it my personal responsibility to not let him end up like me”

but when the three of them are all together (bc i do headcanon that my warden comes back from finding the cure for the calling), it is a trifecta of respect and them just messing around A Lot with their magic

17) If Origins and Inquisition had the 3 personalities (Diplomatic, Sarcastic, Aggressive) which would your warden and inquisitor have predominately been? And what one did your Hawke have?

i am a creature of habit so all my heroes end up in the sarcastic wheelhouse akjdskjsdjk, hawke is sarcastic with some aggressive leanings by act 3, camris is sarcastic with diplomatic tendencies, and i see my warden as diplomatic with biiiig sarcastic leanings!!    25) What is/was their relationship with their family like?

my surana’s family canon is........... Complicated especially bc in my canon, my lavellans and my suranas are first cousins (both their dads are/were dalish twin brothers but my suranas’ father was exiled for a situation that fell somewhere between merrill and anders’ situations) and, by origins, the only surviving suranas are my warden, electra, and her younger sister, kira, and because, up until post-inquisition, they were each other’s only family, they would basically do anything for each other and would go to the ends of the earth to keep each other safe, even if sometimes their personalities clash (electra is much more keen to finding the positive in a situation, while kira is much more jaded over what they have been through)

by the end of da2, the only family my hawke has left is carver, so i like to think that, after the final battle, the two of them really worked on actually bettering their relationship bc they’re all each other has left. my hawke misses her sister terribly and honestly still blames herself for bethany’s death. i have......................... complicated feelings on leandra and, to avoid getting too deep and also morbid, i see hawke’s feelings on her mother very much “i loved my mother and i miss her and i blame myself for what happened but i also have this lingering hurt and anger because of everything she put on me and, sometimes, what hurts the most is that i will never be able to resolve this pain”

I LOVE MY LAVELLAN’S FAMILY my primary inquisitor is camris, and my secondary inquisitor is adaranni, his older sister, who’s like one of his best friends!! tbh once again i’m kinda glossing over the full extent of canon bc then i could get into the lore i have for my inquisitor’s parents, especially with the whole exiled-brother-situation, but basically love and acceptance and support is stored in my lavellan’s family <3

yes!!! i have a bunch of secondary/tertiary OCs but i’m just gonna go through my main canon :’)

also this is probably gonna be a bit of a general description more about my personal headcanons of all of them bc 1) i have an expansive canon and 2) my brain is very tired

my main warden is my electra surana!! she’s an elf and a circle mage, and is alistair’s mistress (bc i refused to have my heart broken again by him breaking up with me so you KNOW i maxed that persuasion skill). i think my favorite thing abt electra is that i originally intended for her to be like, super angsty? like i made her when i was 15 and also angsty so i kinda expected her to be this jaded character with a tragic life but just like... as i kept replaying her, it was so much more narratively satisfying for her to be happy? like both with her in-game choices and the way i started to think of her in a more “stuff we don’t see in canon” type of stuff, she just became this OC who does everything she can to save whoever possible (and imo that’s exemplified in her choosing to save the city of amaranthine) and like the way i imagine all her friendships, it’s just so much better for me to think of her as a character who chooses joy in spite of all the shit she’s been through (and she does have a pretty tragic backstory, imo). also, in my canon, she’s my main inquisitor’s cousin! though bc of Stuff, they don’t meet until post-inquisition. and her younger sister, kira, is one of my tertiary inquisitors!! i also headcanon that she does find the cure for the calling and she does have an eventual son with alistair bc i love family stuff.............

my hawke is dani hawke, and she’s a mage (and sided with the mages)! and romanced fenris, and i 100% headcanon that isabela marries them (bc can’t captains like marry people???) and. oh boy. if electra is the one who missed out on the tragic character trope, then hawke is where it fell. like it is kinda canon bc, imo, hawke has the least celebratory ending but my hawke is. going through it. just bc i see hawke in general as such a tragic figure, and i kinda lean into that. like i primarily play purple hawke but, as we get into act 3, i start dabbling with red hawke options bc my hawke is just. so tired. and so done with having to fix everyone’s problems. like hawke really just is A Person who got tangled up in too much shit. she also might be where i store like at least a fraction of my overall family issues. but hawke is also where i really lean into the found family bc her kirkwall crew really is her family, like, by the time da2 finishes, she only has carver left and, even though they’re working on it, they still have a strained relationship. i headcanon that, by the time hawke gets to skyhold, she’s just so tired and so done and she was ready to sacrifice herself in the fade. varric, fenris, and the entire kirkwall crew really, are very happy that the inquisitor didn’t let her do that. i also headcanon that, after skyhold, fenris and hawke finally do settle down (as best they can) and eventually have a daughter.

and my inquisitor!!!!! camris lavellan!!!!!!!! idk if he’s necessarily my favorite bc it’s hard to choose, but he’s more so my self-insert and my comfort OC like i do the most self-projecting onto camris. i joke that i don’t know where he ends and i begin but tbh i’d be lying if i said that he hasn’t grown as an OC alongside me growing as a person. he’s a mage and romances dorian!! i almost have too much abt camris to just focus on one thing to talk abt (so if u ever wanna send questions,,,,, :3) but like. he just makes me happy :’) inquisition is the game i’ve played the most so he’s probably had the most consistent development overtime? or at least the one i have put the Most time into, but i still think him and electra are tied for who has the most expansive canon pre- and post- game. and, as i said before, he’s my warden’s cousin!! that whole storyline is very tragic bc their fathers were brothers in clan lavellan but electra’s father was exiled (though in my canon, it’s revealed he was going to run away from clan lavellan anyway with an apostate from the local alienage and he was going to tell camris’s father aka his brother to go with him but then uh. bad things happened real fast.) i equate that whole part of my canon kinda like what happened w/ merrill in da2? but not exactly, it’s more so just the easiest point of comparison. and also!!! my secondary inquisitor is camris’s older sister, adaranni! i didn’t intend for this to happen but i think it’s very cute that camris romances dorian and is best friends with josephine, and then adaranni romances josephine and is best friends with dorian. i just think it’s neat! i value all my heroes so much and they’re all very special to me but camris just hits a bit different omg

32) do they get along with vivienne?

camris does!! like, at first his relationship with her is strained bc of the fact that he freed the rebel mages, but he has always had a lot of respect for vivienne. like, camris knows a powerful mage when he sees one and vivienne definitely fits that. and they’re both knight enchanters, so i think that brings them a bit closer! especially bc camris would def ask her for help if he needed or just chat with her about his studies. i like to think that vivienne also expresses some interest in dalish magic, so they def find time to talk abt magical theory a lot. and, when everything with duke bastien happens, camris makes sure to give her the space she needs but also lets her know that he is always willing to talk if she needs, and i like to think that they end up having wine out on vivienne’s balcony while camris just lets vivienne talk

i really do like to think that they come to understand each other, especially about the status of mages, you know?

1) what is your inquisitor’s name & race?

camris lavellan!! he’s a dalish mage!!! 7) who is your inquisitor’s best friend?

josephine!!!! she was the first person camris felt genuinely safe around at haven and he really appreciated how kind and accommodating she was (and he also had a soft spot for her after she was the only one to greet him in elven). their friendship in haven is very “friendly co-workers bordering on being actual friends” and tbh i think, after “in your heart shall burn,” both when josephine thought camris was dead and camris thought he was going to die, they were both honestly pretty heartbroken bc like, they were becoming friends and it seemed like it was gonna be thrown away so quickly. so, once they get to skyhold and start hanging out more and josephine’s personal quest happens, they’re basically conjoined at the hip!!!! i hc that camris spends some of the most time in josephine’s office just chatting with her. i also hc that he becomes really close with her entire family!!!!!! and then trespasser is really sad for multiple reasons, one of them being that i hc they get into a really bad fight bc josephine’s stress about the council/state of the inquisition does Not mesh well with camris’ stress about everything so they have one big nasty blowout before the reality hits that this may be one of the last times they ever talk and then. oh boy tears everywhere!!! but it’s okay camris lives and (after going through an arc kinda like korra in s4 of lok) he visits antiva and spends some time at the montilyet estate <3 14) which demon is most frightening to them?

ooooh i’ve actually thought abt this a lot!!! i think despair demons would get to him a lot. or rage tbh. is this self projection? kinda! but if i am wearing my heart on my sleeve abt how much of camris is a self-projection, i do think he Goes Through It quite a bit and def has some heightened emotions, so i think both despair and rage demons could end up bringing a lot of unwanted emotions out of him  18) upon first meeting cole, were they afraid of him?

i think, at first, when haven is collapsing, he is so goddamn stressed that he can’t even Worry about who cole is other than “alright, this kid is bringing us some pretty bad news” and then, once he’s at skyhold, at first he doesn’t think much of cole? like, not in a bad way. just in a “he seems like a nice guy and......... also a spirit?” like he thinks cole is endearing in how he wants to help people so he ultimately doesn’t think much of him at first. and then cole starts poking around in his own head and that’s when camris starts to get pretty apprehensive for a while bc he makes a point to keep a lot of his mental shit locked up (but in the end, he sees cole as a good friend/younger brother of sorts) (i say younger bc i think cole is like assumed to be 20? and camris is 25) 24) what is their opinion on blood magic? would they ever use it, if given the chance?

i think camris, at the start of inquisition, doesn’t have particularly strong opinions on blood magic? he personally wouldn’t practice it but he wouldn’t deny being interested in learning more about it (well okay he absolutely would deny it to people like cassandra or cullen, but with solas he talks more freely about it). i probably have a more complicated answer when i factor in his relationship w/ dorian but, overall, camris wouldn’t practice blood magic but he at least likes hearing solas talk abt it!

20) what was their court approval like at the winter palace? did they have any fun at all? 

okay so akjdsjkdskj bc i really wanted the belle of the ball trophy, camris’s court approval was 100, and also “wicked eyes and wicked hearts” is my favorite dragon age quest so i do typically shoot for full court approval (and also i go for the “all 3 of them reconcile” ending and i think i need decent court approval for that) so like, i am a bit biased. i think camris was exhausted by the winter palace/orlesian nobility but i personally like to think that there were times where he got to sneak away for a bit and hang out with josephine (aka dish the goss with yvette) and dorian!!! by the end, he enjoyed his and dorian’s dance, but he was also. very tired and was ultimately glad to be out. like, he didn’t hate it fully, but he was also very much “what the fuck this is all a shit show.” he finds the game kinda interesting though!! from a terrified outside perspective omg

26) did they feel suspicious of dorian upon first meeting him, because of his tevinter heritage?

i mean, yes and no, like? in redcliffe, he could tell that dorian was on their side and wanted to set things right, and while he thought dorian had charm, there was still some general apprehension at first, which flared a bit when they first started talking at haven. though they work through it and, by the arrival to skyhold, camris trusts dorian and knows that he’s aligned with their cause against corypheus/the venatori

31) if varric wrote a book about your inquisitor, how would they feel about that?

camris thinks all this shit is weird is hysterical omg

and like, to ramble for a minute, my headcanon for tale of the champion is that the published book is actually a very heavily edited and revised version, and somewhere there is the original manuscript that is much more raw and sad and real and, honestly, dictates everything that happened to all of them over the past seven years and all the blood and sweat and tears that plagued them.

for all this shit is weird, though? tbh, for me personally, i hc that, by trespasser, varric saw how tired and honestly done camris was? like, he went into the exalted council not wanting to be inquisitor anymore anyway and he’d been a major public/political figure for years and he just wanted to, honestly, settle down with dorian and try to have a somewhat normal life half w/ his clan and half w/ his friends from the inquisition. and then all the shit with the anchor and solas happens, and camris is essentially left with one foot in “okay, now go return to normal life as your friends all go home and your boyfriend goes back to tevinter” and the other in “alright! time to secretly prepare a battle against one of your gods!” so he’s just mentally and physically exhausted and so stressed out and confused. and i like to think that varric gets that? and wants to make him feel better? so like yeah ik canonically all this shit is weird is probably written before trespasser, but play with me in the space of varric just wanting to see his friend smile again, so he puts together this big goofy exaggerated tale and camris laughs the entire time while reading it

39) if varric gave them a nickname, what would it be?

this is definitely me just being uncreative bc i’m bad at nicknames but i think camris would def end up being “red” bc, u know, red hair akjsdkjsdkj

either that or something abt his height bc like. okay ik elves are meant to be short but i like to think that camris is like 5′10ish so i think varric might also come up with something around that but idk! i’m bad at nicknames!

but yeah, he does!!!! it gives some cool features for the rest of dai/trespasser but i get nervous abt what some of the narrative implications could be omg
