The view from the Campanile Tower!

          After class, I decided to head up to the Campanile Tower - since it’s free for students.   I only felt inclined to after Beeken sent me a text about the dinosaur fossils buried within the tower, but obviously, those floors are off limits to students.   Either way, it was a VERY hot day and it was breezy at the top of the Campanile; you can actually smell and taste the salty air, which was refreshing.

          My day didn’t just end there though (although I kinda wanted it to).   I went to the Project GOLD meeting too.   Project GOLD is a leadership development program for first years (freshmen and transfers) over in Berks that help students curate their leadership abilities in terms of organization, speech, collaboration, and communication.   Of course, it started out with those dumb ice-breaker activities and all members seemed nice.   And it seems that maybe it’s just what I need in terms of getting to know my campus and community.   I’m still very iffy about the whole process.   

          Project GOLD isn’t a club - as I had thought it would be.   It’s just a weekly program to help develop leadership skills - which is fine and all, I just wish I was able to apply it instead.   But who knows, maybe it’s for the better.   I mean the advisors said that they gained a lot from it during their previous years when they had undergone this whole process, so I guess it shouldn’t be too bad.   I guess I’m just going to have to find out myself.
