HSR 2.2 Rant

spoilers ahead so don't read if you're not done with the mission!

first, since this is the easiest thing to talk about, the boss fight? the three robots (past, present, future) and aventurine's boss fight were harder than sunday's.

second, i feel deprived of ratio content. i need more of his appearance and lore, pls and thank you. a short talk (THAT'S NOT EVEN REAL) and a millisecond cameo isn't enough, i need to know exactly how much this man figured penacony out. (DORMANCY AND DEATH MENTION IN 2.1 WHEN NO ONE ELSE OTHER THAN GALLAGHER KNEW WTF RATIO)

also, speaking of, gallagher and misha are gone and i am in pain™. they're both fragments of other people but they're very much real in my heart. 🥹

BUT AVENTURINE'S ALIVE SO I'M CELEBRATING THAT.

dan heng literally got so anxious bcs he couldn't reach out to his family in the dream that he contemplated calling one of the busiest men we've been introduced to so far, he's so real for that.

ACHERON LEADS A LONELY LIFE WTF SHE DESERVES TO BE REMEMBERED AND CHERISHED AND CARED FOR AND LOVED.

boothill and black swan coming along on the express only for it to be revealed that everything was a lie??? i got excited for nothing. 😞

ngl i am not fond of firefly. she's an interesting character and i especially like her interaction with blade but ever since 2.0 i was suspicious of her and felt like the game just shoved me into liking her (which me, being the avoidant lil bish that i am, do not appreciate). i felt so justified in my suspicion of her when she was revealed to be lying about who she actually is.

robin is so sincere and gentle since she was a kid and i genuinely panicked when sunday implied that he kept her away along with welt somewhere. i hope she'll be okay and that we'll get an update on her in the future stories.

sunday is such a complex character. i don't like him but he was misguided and he experienced a lot of things that seemed to cement his (faulty) logic on what a peaceful paradise is. kinda unclear whether he's alive or not but he's a very interesting character.

tldr: PENACONY WAS A ROLLERCOASTER THAT GAVE ME TRUST ISSUES AND MADE ME SUS OF EVERYONE. THIS ARC IS AMAZING.

i am excited to see what's going to happen next, especially bcs of the cliffhanger with aventurine and boothill but for now imma take a long nap after all that.

OK HERE'S THE CAST SO FAR (IT MIGHT CHANGE): NORMAL ASS RATIO IS THE TEACHER.

NORMAL ASS AVEN WILL PROLLY BE A SIDE CHARACTER.

NORMAL ASS TOPAZ AND JADE MIGHT CAMEO.

FOR THE CLONE TEENS THERE WILL BE:

Topaz, Sampo, Argenti, Kafka, Blade/Yingxing, Silverwolf, Boothill, Robin, Sunday, Bronya, Seele, Luka, Gepard, Asta, Arlan, Ruan Mei, Jing Yuan, Dan Heng, Black Swan, Himeko.

My general criteria was

a) has the IPC interacted with them or their planet enough that I could see their DNA being taken and cloned.

b) would they have a reason to clone them? For instance, as much I love Lynx she's not a military general, great fighter, emmantor, etc, etc,

c) is their any reason they couldn't be cloned. For instance in this I don't think March, the Trailblazer, Welt, or Acheron could be cloned even if though they probably tried. Also Sparkle probably couldn't nor someone like Duke Inferno due to them being energy life form, though I doubt they cared to try with either.

Plus I feel like due to the Stonehearts status they got a say on if they were cloned or not and everyone except Topaz hated the concept. (and Diamond but we don't know enough abt him for me to give him a clone so yknow). Topaz loved it and was all for it though.

So a lil example, the reason the Stellaron Hunters were cloned was because they all are uniquely strong and powerful, and the IPC has made enough contact with places they've been I feel like they'd have their DNA, except for Firelfy, 1. cuz they prolly think shes a robot, 2. because I doubt her DNA is anywhere + if it was the raging fires she lights would burn it away. Also theres smth I just think is funny and ironic about the cloned (I think i don't pay much attention to Firefly lore) fighter character not getting cloned this time.

Also a lil bonus lore:

They did not try to clone Black Swan or Sampo on purpose, rather Black Swan added her DNA to the pool through some memoria stuff cause I think that's cool. (idk ill figure out a motivation for her.)

Sparkle put Sampo's in. She like stole some of his blood or hair during Penacony and added that shit. He does not know he has a teenage clone of himself running around.

Also Ratio was supposed to be cloned as well but Aventurine stopped them from cloning him.

I had the stupidest HSR au idea. highschool au except instead of it being like 'omg their in a normal highschool' its that the IPC cloned them clone high style and is now tasking the Intellgensia Guild with teaching them...and basically everyone said Ratio should do it.

SO HE'S STUCK WITH LIKE A TEENAGE CLONE OF SAMPO, A TEEN CLONE OF TOPAZ, ETC ETC ETC. THOUGH NOT THE ENTIRE CAST, 1. CUZ THATS TOO MANY CHARACTERS. 2. SOME ARENT TEENS. 3. I FEEL LIKE SOME CHARACTERS WOULD MAKE SURE THEY WOULDN'T.

LIKE THERE'S NO AVEN CLONE, OR IF THERE IS AVEN AND RATIO DON'T KNOW CUZ HE'D BE AGAINST THAT SHIT.
