(Viva las Vegas) May 17, 2018, oh yeah, you read right! Las Vegas, Nevada! A small piece of paradise located in the middle of the desert!

I actually stopped through Vegas for a lil bit before on a 5-hour layover, but I wouldn’t count it. Other than that I’ve never actually vacationed there. So I'm calling this my official 1st time in Vegas! 

Previously getting invited by the Homie Will months before I was hyped and determined to experience Vegas the way a dude and his crew are supposed to! With trips like these, the realization of vacation never really hits me until the day of. Which usually leads me to procrastination packing. After a few last minutes look at my luggage I was ready to go!…I think?

After 5 or 6 quick backtracks I said Screw it, Whatever I don't have I wasn't supposed to have. Shoot I’d go to Vegas naked if I had to lol. All that was on my mind was getting up out of Philly! That is until I got to the airport via sibling cab services (Thanks Kiki). I arrived at arrivals by way of my younger sister Roshina. Ready to roll, I overheard an announcement while about to board the plane.

A woman was desperately trying to fly out with the rest of her friends. But from the looks of things It seems as though she was only going to board if someone gave up their seat!? So in my most gentlemanly gesture, I volunteered to give up my seat. Just Making someone’s day was award enough for me, so the rewards for my action was just the icing on the cake! I received a $500 voucher and had my trip to Vegas switched from a 10 PM Spirit to a 12 PM Southwest Airline flight! Hell yeah!!! I was stoked because I was previously invited to the RAW Film Festival in LA by my good friend and Artshow Coordinator/Director BigSpot Brandon Scott! Sounds awesome right? Except I had no idea how I was going to make it to Cali a week after flying out to Vegas!?

Perplexed at 1st, I had the epiphany to gave up my seat and Voilà!!! I was going to Vegas and then flying back out to Cali 7 days later! Talk about going places huh? (Make sure to look out for my amazing LA trip in my next blog!) But in the meantime, let's get back into to the Vegas blog. Fast forward through the flight and I’ve arrived! Viva Las Vegas!!! But what was I to do 6 PM in Las Vegas? Yup you guessed it…every and anything! after checking into my hotel I met up with a will and the gang. A crew that consisted of Will’s Dad and Cousin whom just so happens to be turning 21! So I made it my mission to get this kid ripped lol.

After some pre-gaming, we headed out to hit the strip! With my cannon in hand, I managed to snag a few shots while at the same time getting separated from the group. I stayed behind without warning to capture a monk selling bracelets. What made this capture special was how the walkway lights illuminated the monk, appearing as if he was somehow enlightened. Not soon after I went looking for my crew, I ran into a couple of showgirls! And thought to myself hey…I’ll take it. Just self-reflecting on the moment of capturing the showgirls and the holy monk reminded me that even in a city like this, no matter what there’s always light to be found from the dark.

Now to find the fellas. after looking to no avail, lost I decided to call will! After the drunken miscommunication with will, I ended up just hanging out with the showgirls for awhile. After about 15 min of playing hide and go seek with will, I was found and informed by will and the gang that we were heading on a party bus!? A party bus which was filled with a group of women!? Women who seemed to be celebrating a bachelorette party! Nothing like club hopping with a bunch of Bridesmaids lol. With too many shots to count we became best friends with these wild women throughout the night.

After what seemed like unlimited drinks and stopping through 2 out 3 clubs, I was ready to call it a “hell of a night” We all proceeded to walk back to the hotel, that is until we were in awe by a group of Beautiful Black Women! I know what your thinking…there’s a lot of beautiful women out in Las Vegas! But trust me when I say, these ladies were special. The moment we crossed paths with these lovely ladies, was then met by our typical Vegas catcalling. I noticed walking by, they all were wearing matching red dresses!? Shit, I told them they were looking like a fine ass R&B group of singers lol.

They must’ve taken it as a compliment because afterward, they invited us to accompany them on their journey. I was immediately drawn to 1 woman in particular. Having had me at hello, She stood at about 5′5″ Beautiful brown complexions and had a glare that would intimidate the most confident guy. Smitten by her beauty I asked what her name was!? At that very moment when she spoke, I was captivated. In the most sensual English accent!

She told me her name was “Yolanda”. A name I wouldn’t soon forget. The other women with her were as equally beautiful and accented as she was. After walking the ladies down the strip a bit further we stopped at a burger joint. I figured my chance to break the ice with this beautiful stranger would be the perfect opportunity for our 1st date lol. So in my best chivalrous fashion, I got my London love a Burger with a side of chips!? Lol chips? Exchanging pleasantries and language customs I found out chips were called French fries while Chips were called Crisps in the UK!?

After a bit more of courtship and a piggyback ride later we then parted ways with the gorgeous African Girls from the UK which was bittersweet for me because I’d probably never see Yolanda again. But at least I had the pleasure of crossing paths with this Lovely London Lady…(Yolanda if you are seeing this…If it's meant to be we’ll meet again) finally making it back to the hotel, Will passed out (which was probably long overdue lol) and the others soon followed.

I then was left with the task of getting back to my hotel room. Which proved to be more daunting than expected. Pissed from 4 unsuccessful attempts at getting an Uber at 6 AM. As I sat on a bench fighting exhaustion from a long as night…I couldn’t help but crack a smile. Because as mad, tired and drunken as I was I finally got my Vegas Moment!
