🗺 Creede, Colorado 📍Creede Repertory Theatre What a wonderful weekend of incredible theatre!! 🎭 It’s so fun to explore this beautiful state and discover new hidden gems! I love learning all about this theatre. It’s so inspiring!! In the 1960’s following the decline of the #SilverMines Creede needed a new source of income. In 1966, the Chamber of Commerce put out a #CallForActors to stimulate business activity by forming a theatre. Out of all the letters sent to universities across the US, only one replied: The University of Kansas!! 12 students drove out to Creede with just $32 in the bank! They worked together and with support of the town mounted the first season of the Creede Repertory Theatre. They cleaned the theatre, built the sets, made their costumes…everything themselves!! 😍 Now, 56 years later the theatre continues to thrive!! 🤩 It’s amazing!! I find their history so powerful and incredible!! As someone who is currently serving on the #ArtisticBoard as President of #InsightColabTheatre; Colorado’s ONLY pan Asian American theatre company, I know that we can make it too. I love theatre so much!!
