May 11 / Motherhood Monday
1. "Someday (I Will Understand)" by Britney Spears; When Eva was really into Britney Spears growing up, this was a song her mom and her would sing a long to. She said it was relatable and hoped for her to feel the same way if she ever wanted to become a mom. 2. “Dear Mama” by 2pac; This song is dedicated to the love of a mother and how important a mother is. 2pac is able express the appreciation for a mother, one Eva can identify with. She knows the hard work and pure love her mother put into raising two daughters. 3. "House of Gold" by Twenty One Pilots; To me this song is about a Mom asking once dad is gone or whatever is thrown at us that you won’t forget about her. Of course, the son tells her that she is the most important person and he would always take care of her and build her “a house of gold.” 4. "Perfect Fan" by Backstreet Boys; This song is dedicated again to the beautiful moms in the world. Thanking them for always being there to support and nurture while also teaching us how to “walk without their hands.” Eva is definitely grateful for her mom being supportive of her move to the states. 5. "I Got It From My Mama" by Will.i.am; This song says it all. Eva’s charm and good looks are all because of her mama. Her and her sister are physically the same height and build like their mother. 6. "Your Mother Should Know" by The Beatles; This is a song about giving your mom more credit, she knows more than you think. The years have made her wiser and smarter. 7. "Does Your Mother Know?" by ABBA; Every time Eva was out and about doing something she shouldn’t be doing or asking herself what would her mother think, this song comes in mind. ABBA is Eva’s moms favorite 70s quartet. It just reminds her of mom dancing and singing along to anything ABBA. 8. "Mother Knows Best" by Mother Gothel in Disney's Tangled; When Tangled came out, Eva remembered her mom being the complete opposite of Mother Gothel from the movie. She has always been loving, caring, and unconditionally supportive. She has shown Eva the world and has encouraged her to pursuit her career unlike Mother Gothel who selfishly wants Rapunzel all to herself. 9. "Mother" by Kacey Musgraves; The lyrics just hit home for Eva because moving away from her family, especially her mom was the toughest. She hates not being able to share all of her life from the OC with her, but knows this is where she belongs at the moment due to her career. "Wish we didn't live, wish we didn't live so far from each other/ I'm just sitting here there/ Thinking 'about the time that's slipping/ And missing her mother, mother." 9. "The Best Day" by Taylor Swift; This song is all about her mom's positive influence on her when she was growing up and the one special occasion they shared together. Of course, it is something Eva can relate to because she has a strong bond with her momma. 10. "Mom" by Meghan Trainor and Kelli Trainor; The lyrics such "Ain't nobody got a mom like mine. Her love's 'til the end, she's my best friend." hit Eva home. She loves her mom and is forever grateful for her.

“Anything I ever did in my life, I felt justified in doing.”
Living under the sun in Huntington Beach, Jordan Luciano is currently 25 years old and a model. In the land of hopes and dreams, Jordan’s ultimate goal is to take over their family business when her father steps down. The juicy scoop? Jordan has gone behind her father's back several times to make deals with other families that would benefit them but that her father is too proud to make. She's willing to do anything for their family. Here is a little more about her:
Positives: Loyal, Honest, & Ambitious
Negatives: Apathetic, Blunt, & Impatient
Her story:
The epitome of me and who I am just happened to begin in 1929 when my great, great, great.. - you get the idea - grandfather, Lucky Luciano met a featured dancer in one of Broadway's leading nightclubs, Gay Orlova. Now if you don't know, Charles "Lucky" Luciano was an Italian-born gangster who is considered to be the father of modern organized crime in the United States. He's also the one who split New York City into five crime families, heading the Genovese crime family himself. Now every dog has his day and he eventually went to prison but he and my grandmother were inseparable. Though, they were never married and Lucky never wanted children. Little did he know that after prison when he met someone else, my grandmother was pregnant with a little baby boy and that was the start of my family tree. Fast forward years and years later and you have my mother, Maria Luciano, and my father, Lucky Luciano. Obviously my family is a little more discreet than they were back in the 20's and 30's but we're still feared and respected. I don't see much of my father because of all that he does for us but being the first girl born in the family, I'm his pride and joy. I was born on January 20, 1995 and for the first 16 years of my life, my father tried to keep me separate from our family's lifestyle. I'm not the type to take no for an answer and I ask more questions than I get answers so after a while, my father started to give into the idea of me learning more about the business. I model full-time and continue to learn about the family business when I can and, of course, when my father lets me because heaven forbid anything happen to daddy's little girl. The Luciano family has never seen a woman of the family in power but they would rather die than bring an outsider in. So the shoes that I have to fill are getting bigger and bigger every day but I'm just trying to make my family proud.

“Out of suffering have emerged the strongest souls; the most massive characters are seared with scars.”
Living under the sun in Fountain Valley, Octavia Toren is currently 28 years old and a Make-up artist and photographer. In the land of hopes and dreams, Octavia hopes to find peace with the scars on both her body and her soul. She aspires to shake off the looming fear that everything will come crashing down eventually. The juicy scoop? When she was on the streets, a local pimp took a liking to her and forced her into his employ. He took his time ‘breaking’ her, and when he decided he wanted her on the street earning him money, he took her out to a local venue where there would be a surplus of drunk concert goers. The streets and the homes she had been in taught her how to play her part well, so she waited for her opening, then made a break for it. She ended up hiding under the bunks on a tour bus, knowing that if she was caught, he would kill her. Every sound terrified her and when things were silent for long enough, the exhaustion took over and she fell asleep. Here is a little more about her:
Positives: Charismatic, Quick-witted, & Street-smart
Negatives: Guarded, Sharp tongued, & Suspicious
Her story:
Octavia was born to a loving mother and father, but something had gone wrong during her birth. The doctor couldn’t quite figure out what was wrong but Octavia’s mother never recovered from the birth, dying only days later. Her father loved her fiercely, holding tight to the only part of his wife he had left. For the first four years of her life she had wanted for nothing. Her father seemed to anticipate everything she needed and had it for her before she even realized she needed it. When she was four things changed. It wasn’t a bad change, just different. Her father met and fell in love with a woman that was nice enough to her, but with no mother to compare it to she had no idea that this woman never loved her as if she were her own. With a new mother and sister, Octavia was living on cloud nine until tragedy struck again. At eight her father was in a horrific accident and died only minutes after they made it to the hospital. Once the funeral was over, Octavia found herself being dumped at a children’s home, her step mother wanted nothing to do with a child that wasn’t hers. She spent the next several years bouncing from home to home, learning very early on that the word ‘home’ meant something VERY different. When she was fourteen she could no longer take the abuse in the homes and decided to take her chances on the street. She knew the dangers but at least there her life wasn’t dressed up as something it wasn’t. Needless to say, the streets hardened what few parts that were still soft.

“I spend every night in a waking dream while the devil sings to me; somebody, set me free.”
Living under the sun in Fountain Valley, Damien Jones is currently 33 years old and is a musician at Red Room Studios. In the land of hopes and dreams, Damien wants to keep on striving to be a better person and keep on rocking until his dying breath. The juicy scoop? Around the age of 21, Damien had been sentenced to 10 years in prison for a murder he didn't commit. Already having a nasty reputation that most reckless rock stars get coined with, as well as a few arrests for assault under his belt, it was easy for him to take the blame out of fierce loyalty. Rather than letting his friend, who in reality had the blood on their hands, go down for a crime that had sprouted from a chaotic mess he ended up spending three and a half years in a maximum-security prison. He was released with time served, and the charge was eventually dropped to involuntary manslaughter when the plea of self-defense had finally been entered. There have been countless rumors and speculations as to what took place that night everything hit rock bottom for the first time, but Damien continues to shoulder the weight of the blame all for the sake of protecting his best friend, no matter if it will always make him out to be a bad guy. Here is a little more about him:
Positives: Charismatic, Funny, & Loyal
Negatives: Blunt, Outspoken, & Reckless
His story:
Damien Jones is a rock star that people love to hate, plain and simple. His zany antics and reckless ways quickly bolstered him to the heights of fame but also landed him with a bad reputation along the way. Being dealt a crappy hand at life from the very start seemed to cement such a fate for him at a young age. Born in Las Vegas, his origin story is far from a pretty one. Being sold by his parents for their next fix at the age of 6, he bounced around from foster home to foster home until being placed with an aunt he had never met. She tried to raise him as best she could, but by the time he had been brought into her home, the damage had already been done. Fueled by anger and resentment, Damien grew up with a chip on his shoulder and found himself getting into trouble more often than not. If he wasn't getting into fights, he was off trying to set everything on fire. If it weren't for music, he would have died before ever getting the chance to live, but even his love for music came with its own set of issues. Catching a lucky break when he turned 18, Damien and his band had signed their first record deal and was swept up into the chaos of rising fame. Needless to say, some highs and lows covered the years to follow as he grew up in the spotlight. Despite his fair share of brushes with the law and stupid antics that branded him the resident bad boy and almost caused his band to crash and burn, Damien has managed to cement himself in the rock industry as a pioneer.
