I can't believe I almost forgot about Good Robots
Tumblr media
this was my OG ensemble piece (started nearly five years ago and never took it anywhere) and I swear it was the blueprint for T$$
it's a lot less whumpy and a lot more comical but it's where I developed a love for character dynamics within a bigger team
they're all named after food (codenames, but it's all they ever refer to each other as) and the only thing I've ever written for them is goofy dialogue interactions between teammates

created some new characters for a fantasy story
Tumblr media
Haile (he/him, 24) - Half-elf, mage's apprentice nearing the end of his training
Kezkel (he/him, 41) - Human mage, Haile's mentor
Sarasi (she/her, 14) - Human lady, possesses type of magic thought to be long-gone. A bit of a perfectionist, but has a hard time casting
Izri (she/they, 13) - Human peasant, also capable of magic thought to be gone. Has a lot of natural skill at casting, and is generally a friendly and sunshiny person
In this world, magic is fairly rare, and often restricted to trained guild members. The re-emergence of a dead magic is in line with a prophecy of a world-changing cataclysm, and it's assumed the girls will play a key role in it all.
Haile and Kezkel are tasked with safely escorting the pair to a guild where they'll be trained and protected, but the further they go, the more it seems there are enemies at every turn...

just wanna rant somewhere about a story idea I've been sitting on since I was sixteen or so (feel free to ignore, this may get long)
So the basic premise is in the far future, the remnants of humanity live on what's basically a huge artificial island in space. We have four major factions on this island:
Aliens: Posses abilities like flight or energy manipulation, but the majority don't know this. Most don't even know they're not human, due to a conspiracy put on by the humans years ago to maintain power.
Alchemists: Humans who are capable of magic, due to a reaction with alien technology/living adjacent for so long. They're able to hide, but practicing alchemy is generally illegal.
The Scientists' Guild: a small group of humans who know about the conspiracy and are working to find a way to make aliens "safe" by removing their powers.
Humans: everyone else. The regular dudes.
And naturally there's whump. A lot of whump. We've got:
Salt, an alchemist who was experimented on for years in an effort to try and impart the aliens' abilities on a human
Ben, another alchemist, who worked for Salt's tormenter. When he eventually tried to leave, his boss turned on him
Sam, an alien who was kidnapped by the Scientists' Guild
Gloria, Sam's human girlfriend who thought he walked out on her when he learned she was pregnant with their daughter, only for him to show up on her doorstep nine years later, on the run from the government
if you couldn't tell, I mostly just had characters and a bunch of whumpy scenes, and it never got written cause I had no plot with which to string them together lol
But maybe someday
I do like the characters and everything
