Calgary Day 11: Last Day

July 16, 1995

Today is my very last day here in Calgary.  Right now I’m in the gym.  I opted not to go swimming today.  I’m upstairs above the pools.  Erin and I are listening to our “Redneck” CDs.  We timed it so we’re listening at the exact same place.

Erin is reading a magazine.  We just got done playing cards.  I feel really bad:  Whenever we play I always win (I’m really good at cards… It’s what we do at Girl Scout camp).   Should I pretend to lose next time?

Guess what happened last night?  About 15 people died their hair!  I was going to, but I decided against it.  They went to Walmart to buy the dye.  It was the kind that washes out in 6 washes.  My chin is really starting to actually look better.  Ever since the first day of this trip I’ve had red dots all over my chin.  Almost everyone in our band is breaking out too.  I wonder why?

Well, I have 4 more hours until I go home.

I am on the plane now, and I think I spoke a little too soon.  When I got on the plane my face started to break out again.  Maybe it’s the altitude?

Note:  I cannot forget to be at MVHS on Wednesday at 7 to pick up my stuff and Erin’s KROQ Sax Case (she can’t be there).

It's weird when you find parallels in life. For me and my sister to come together these days is something of a rare occurrence. We live completely different lives in different provinces now. We only see each other maybe once a year, yet in this moment we happened to come together as sisters. It makes it seem like so lite has changed, but in reality, nearly everything has changed💜

Calgary Day 8: Edmonton Mall

July 13, 1995

We just went to the second largest Mall in the world.  We shopped till we dropped.  It was in Edmonton, and it took us 4 hours to get there.  The mall was HUGE! There was an amusement park, an ice skating rink, and a full sized water park in there!  I bought stuff for everyone.  I should get my film back tomorrow.

Erin and I went to a store and got a really good deal.  We told everyone about it tonight in the gym, and told it wrong. 

We started off by saying “We just totally made out at that store!”  Then we looked at each other, started laughing, and said “No!  That’s not what it sounded like!  We just got a really good deal!”

I’m still laughing about that…
