This year, in addition to the seemingly random, algorithm generated #bestnine (1st #best9of2019 layout), I decided to make my own compliation of favorite photos & moments of 2019 (2nd layout). I was surprised how difficult a task it was to pick just nine & found myself being somewhat grateful for computer-generated ease & simplicity of the first, in all honesty "pretty okay", compilation. But what this exercise in fustration taught me was that despite being an exceptionally tough & challenging year, 2019 was also a year filled with moments of great beauty & inspiration. In many ways, a foundational year that has changed who I am & who I am becoming. It was a year that demanded both courage & deep introspection. There were many, many lessons learned as I navigated through heartbreak, disappointment, & potent fear. But 2019 was also the year where I allowed myself dream, to let go of the resistance that has kept me far too long trapped inside my comfort zone & spread my wings a little wider than I ever have before. This is the year where I learned how to listen better to life's guideposts & that has led to healing, hope, & more gratitude. And while this year ends in an overwhelmingly, exhausting flurry ... a neverending list of things that need to get done ... and with me forgetting to breath ... gasping for air ... worrying ... because there's not enough time, never enough time ... I am grateful for the year that was ... the darkness that made the light possible ... and the unexpected journey unfurling beneath my feet. Thank you for walking this road with me. 2020 is going to be an adventure ... a year like no other! And while I have been embarrassingly wishing everyone a good start to a new decade, I realized (too late) that we still have one more year in this one ... one more year to get it right & one more chance to end this decade well. #farewell2019 .
