I loved Caldon!!! He was such a fun character?? Oh, and I so shipped him with Tor…

Kinda bummed they didn’t end up together 😞 I thought they suited each other pretty well, too. I think Tor is straight, tho? I mean he liked Ashley and that’s the literal only person he shows interest in. Imagine he wasn’t, he was bi, and simply did not vibe with Cal 💀 I know Cal’s would be wounded if that was the case.

That said, I did like Cal and Cresta together :3 they also suit each other!!! The teasing, will they won’t they thing they had was really entertaining. It provided some levity when Kiva was actively losing her mind over Jaren.

Ashley and Tor… not many thoughts on them. I don’t think they had enough page time for me to form an actual opinion on them as a couple. Just… two neat people, I suppose.

Kiva and Jaren are sooo cute. Kiva needs more confidence in general because she was such a team player and much more forgiving than I would be… Jaren, too, is super forgiving. These people are too good. Like a literal healer and the kindest man you’ve ever met.

No cause I’m gonna be honest

I thought (up until Lynette Noni released the artwork) that Caldon had black hair

He is never described as such but I remember being so shocked that he was blond

Oooooh, i thought of that about Jaren!

I remember when i read The Prison Healer, throughout the first half (i really didn't pay attention to his descriptions, he was injured anyway) but there's one scene where Kiva was giving him a tour? And it said something about his blond haid and i was??? Confused??? I really had a hard time setting his face correctly. Until the second time i read it, Jaren wasn't blond to me lol.

But for Caldon I'm sure it was mentioned, they're cousins too, so it makes sense i guess

I usually don’t read book acknowledgements but I was determined to read the blood traitor cover to cover and let me tell you Lynette Noni fangirling over Jaren, Caldon, and Cresta in her acknowledgments is the most relatable thing ever.

I'm not EVEN halfway through and I've already cried, hands shaking, breathless, overwhelmed, stressed, stoping every few seconds because It's making me WEAK..

EXCUSE ME BUT PRISON HEALER AND GILDED CAGE ARE AMAZING AND HERE’s WHY:

- the world buildimg is BONKERS. There’s elemental magic and powers and royals and scary ass prison, but it’s not overwhelming at all

- The characters!!!! Jaren & Kiva are great, yes, but also Naari, Tipp, and many other characters introduced in book 2 are so lovable. SO lovable.

- the romance is adorable and it’s super slow burn so you know it’ll be satisfying at the end and also it doesn’t overtake the whole plot (but it’s still very present)

- SO MANY TWISTS!!! So many twists in both books. Just insane stuff that had me gasping and wanting to read more.

- Kiva kiva kiva kiva!!! She’s amazing. She def fits into the strong female MC category, but she’s more fallible than “badass” female mc’s in other books. I love that she’s flawed. SO MUCH. Her character is so interesting, especially as you learn more about her background as the story progresses.

- plenty of action and adventure and fighting. The more relaxed scenes and the action scenes are so well balanced

Basically, these books are so satisfying you should go read them. And the 3rd (and final) one is coming out in June ahhhhhh

We love an author who fan-girls over her own characters in the acknowledgements. She is one of us.

And I'm gonna put a keep reading, coz maybe went on a tyrade trying to work through my emotions, and spoilers

The Gilded Cage was both predictable and full of twists. Idk how to describe it. Like you knew that Kiva was gonna be spying on the Vallentis family and reporting back to the rebels, and that she was gonna have some inner turmoil about it, but the whole masquerade ball finale??!! Could not put it down once that started.

And then The Blood Traitor. Cresta coming through as an MVP after starting out as a minor side character in The Prison Healer. Myrrin going back to her family after seeing how ruthless Zuleeka was. The few pages we thought Caldon was dead???!! When Jaren and Caldon found out that (a) Kiva had been back to Zalindov, and (b) had been heavily drugged with angeldust for the entire journey. It was so emotional and beautiful and I loved it and omg spoilers to anyone we're trying to convince to read this series (this is where I got before deciding to put a keep reading).

Hi there. I need help. I just finished The Blood Traitor like an hour ago??? And ow my feelings. It was so good, I couldn't put it down and do all the other things I wanted to do today!!! Read the first 100 pages after work a couple days ago, then just powered through the rest of it today.

I loved the twists that the first two books had, and was thinking there couldn't possibly be more secrets hiding in this rag-tag group, but omg there were, and again, ow my feelings.

Can Lynette Noni please hurry up and write another book??? I love her writing style, I've read everything she's published, and I want more

And tbh i had the same experience, The Blood Traitor was IMPOSSIBLE to put-down. ABSOLUTELY IMPOSSIBLE.

The fact that she played us SO WELL in The Gilded Cage? because you kinda know what's gonna happen and then with what HAPPENS!!! it's TOO MUCH.

I just don't understand HOW THIS IS SOOOOOO UNDERRATED!! Like, Come on guys!!! you're hyping the wrong books!!!!!
