friendly reminder (especially in terms of... recent events...) if your allyship and correctly gendering someone depends on whether or not they are a good person then your "allyship" is conditional and you are in fact !!! not an ally!!!

clarification under the cut but yk I feel like it's a v simple concept???

for example

say you don't believe a trans person who's done bad things (that are completely irrelevant to the fact they're trans) "deserves" the "respect" of someone gendering them correctly, you are telling every trans person you know that you correctly gendering *them* is dependant on whether or not you believe they "deserve" it. which is also awful because who's to say what's good or bad? one person might think graffiti is bad but someone else thinks it's beautiful (when it's actual art not slurs and shit 💀) so does a trans person "deserve" to be misgendered because you personally think them doing graffiti is bad? (the answer is no btw)
