Yearbook thing: best hair
I have to go with Mygre because not only does her hair always look good, it’s also hydrophobic. Which is pretty dang neat if I do say so myself.
Thanks for asking!

( @caffienefuelsmywriting it wouldn’t let me answer your ask as an ask, but here’s the answer lol)
Aw thank you! 😄😂💜 I’m gonna talk about my wip, Losers Never Win, since I’ve been posting a lot of mood boards about it recently 😊
1) describe the plot in 1 sentence.
Sidekicks of both heroes and villains, who all want to be good, join forces to save the world.
2) pick one sight, smell, sound, feel, and taste to describe the aesthetic of your novel.
SIGHT: painted nails with bloody knuckles.
SMELL: campfires.
SOUND: action music that you hear in fighting scenes.
FEEL: soft plushies.
TASTE: french fries.
3) which 3+ songs would make up a playlist for the novel?
Rock What You Got -- Superchick (both original and remix)
It’s On -- Superchick
Revolting Children -- Matilda the Musical
Good Kid -- The Lighting Thief Musical
The Bad Guy [Reprise] -- Ultimate Storytime Musical
and probably more, I love music 😂
4) what’s the time period and location in which the novel takes place?
TIME: I haven’t quite settled on a time, but it’s definitely not in the past. Either an alternate universe of the present, or sometime in the future (I’m thinking maybe 2037 or something idk)
LOCATION: A fictional island in the Pacific Ocean, creatively called, The Island of Superheroes (which I, and the characters, fondly refer to as simply, the Island)
5) is this a standalone or a part in a series?
Currently, the idea is a standalone. However, who knows what will happen once I develop it further.
6) are there any former titles you’ve considered but discarded?
Nope. I literally had no title and then my best friend, Alyssa, randomly said (I don’t even remember why), “Losers never win, Jayce!” and it kinda clicked? That’s how my main characters become fondly dubbed as my Losers lol (also the reason that this wip will be dedicated to her 💜)
7) how many times does the word ____ appear in the novel?
8) what’s the first line that comes up when you search _____?
well I’ll skip these two questions since I was not given any words lol
9) what’s the first line of your novel?
as of now, there is no first line, since I haven’t really started writing this one as much as I have with TSA, but hopefully it’ll be a good first line when it is written lol
10) what’s a line of dialogue you’re particularly proud of?
11) which line from the novel most represents it as a whole?
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ WE’LL SEE ABOUT THESE TWO, I HAVEN’T WRITTEN ENOUGH YET I’M SORRY
12) who are your character faceclaims?
I only have two faceclaims out of the whole wip lol: Chris Pratt as Power Man/Jackson Armstrong/Lilly’s Dad and Jack Black as Implosion/Harry Brenden/Will’s Dad
13) sort your characters into harry potter houses!
ah! luckily for you, I already have! 😁
losers in hogwarts.png
14) which character’s name do you like the most?
oooh, tough question! I love them all and all their names lol... okay, here are my top five:
Lilly Armstrong -- I love the name Lily (my fake sister and childhood best friend are both named Lily), I liked the spelling with three Ls (a nice little way to separate it from people I know irl lol), and her surname is technically a pun, since she has super strength is her main superpower 😂
Yu Fan “Jada” Liu -- A couple of my best friends were born in China and they both have a Chinese legal name, and a primordally-used English name that their parents gave them when they moved to Canada, so it was something I really wanted to incorporate, since I just love my friends and want to include realistic representation of diversity (I refuse to whitewash any of my wips). Using the help of my friends and google, I chose the name Yu Fan as Jada’s legal name--Yu, meaning Jade, and Fan, meaning lethal or dangerous--which was fitting for her and her mother’s characters.
Christina Ng -- Christina’s nickname is Ris and I just love that so much 😂
Alastair Flemming -- I just think Al’s name is really pretty lol
Joanne Natania Cox -- I have a friend named Naveen, who’s super cute and sweet, whose first name is Natania--which I think is really pretty and a nice change from Natalia (but, I mean, I think Naveen is super pretty for a girl too)--so I knew I wanted to call Natania, well, Natania. I also knew I wanted her to go by her middle name; this is because, the majority of Filipinos who I know (and I know a bunch, since our church has a large Filipino community), go by their middle name as opposed to their first name.
15) describe each character’s daily outfit.
LILLY: cute and fun clothes, often pink, always fashionable, very confident
OMAR: plain and cheap clothes, often dark colours, though he tries to feel good about his outfits
SANDY: expensive and fashionable clothes, constantly covered in makeup, obviously cares a lot about her looks
WILL: literally doesn’t care, often mismatched and baggy
JADA: casual and fitted clothes, her outfits always compliment her appearance well
16) do any characters have distinctive birthmarks/scars?
Sandy--who was adopted, so she doesn’t know too much about her younger years--has always had mysterious burns and scars covering her body, giving her major self-consciousness and thus covers herself with makeup to conceal her skin (which also helps her hide her alter ego as a sidekick) and only helps to fuel her insecurities
17) pick a color to represent each character.
LILLY: pink
OMAR: navy blue
SANDY: purple
WILL: rainbow red
JADA: green
18) pick a font to represent each character.
19) which character most fits a character trope? which trope?
I honestly have no clue 😂
20) which character is the best writer? worst?
Alastair vs Natania
21) which character is the best liar? worst?
Lilly vs Alastair
22) which character swears the most? least?
Sandy vs Nate
23) which character has the best handwriting? worst?
Jada vs Alastair
24) which character is most like you? least like you?
Lilly vs Natania
25) which character would you most like to be?
probably Lilly--she’s pretty cool lol
thank you, this took longer than i anticipated 😂

Hello friend!! My first writing ask this is very exciting :D
I’m gonna answer these for my most recent WIP that I’m doing for Camp NaNoWriMo, Descendants of the Earth
1. Describe the plot in one sentence
Owen discovers he can control fire and gets sucked into a quest to retrieve the Rings of Power before the Darkness finds them and destroys everything he’s ever known or loved
(there’s a lot going on in that sentence…but it’s a complex yet derivative plot lol)
17. Pick a color to represent each character
For the main squad:
Owen’s a sort of yellowy orange, optimistic and fiery (duh lol), a hero archetype who’s too naive for his own good
Cam is army green, down to earth, solid and reassuring but still pretty tough
Margot is a bright blue, she’s ridiculously smart but also anxious, though she tries to hide it by being very logical
Logan is ocean green, he’s clever and everything he does has a million reasons behind it, he seems simple but has hidden depths
I know there’s a lot of character traits thrown in there that I associate with the colors? Idk have some character info for fun
16. Do any characters have any distinctive birthmarks/scars?
Margot’s got really cute freckles, so do a lot of the Fire kids, nobody else has any sort of scars/birthmarks that get addressed but if anyone has scars it’s Cam, he works with his hands a lot and probably has a ton of tiny scars just from growing up with siblings and getting into a lot of trouble
Thank you so much for sending me these!! I hope this can help you get to know/love my OCs like I do :D

🍟🌮
Thank you!!! ❤
🍟 Share a GIF that represents your WIP
It’s a little bit of a stretch for Autumn Moon but I couldn’t find any 芒果小戏骨 gifs.
🌮 Recommend a writeblr who you admire and tell us what about them you admire
She’s on hiatus but I really love @caffienefuelsmywriting wips. She has brilliant characters - Flo and Adanech, from Blood Matter, and basically the entire cast of WYSFU. Though I particularly love hearing about bitch bean. WYSFU is just the best.
@ahusaka has absolutely beautiful prose. Into the Haze is just *chef’s kiss*. I don’t know if it’s still included but I remember there being a quote someplace about age sinking into skin that I thought was really evocative and it’s still stuck with me. And I feel that also sums up my thoughts on her and wips pretty well.
@mvcreates, of course. The most gorgeous wips. I love them one and all. But I particular soft adoration for Devida and Goliath and The Vizier’s Apprentice (Soot Stained Fingertips is ❤). And I’m so excited to learn more about Gazelia! But I really admire what Mina does for the community too.
Also @ecoapocalyptic-chanbara. Because. Again. Those wips. Those characters. Also those memes. I think it’s all so creative and wonderful. I love everything I’ve seen.

hey could you tell me stuff about amara
absolutely. First off she’s my WIFE and my FAVORITE
but seriously, um. She’s only part human. Here, have an image from a chicken breeding website to explain the mix of human-angel-demon she has.
She is the offspring. We love her, even if she’s a mess.
She was raised by heaven starting around age 8-10, I haven’t settled on an actual age yet. They taught her to kill and to follow orders. She only ever really learned one of the two, and it wasn’t to follow orders.
She’s 5′9, brunette, grey-blue eyes, and has p l e n t y of scars. She gained better than human healing from her dad, but it’s slower than an angel or a demons. The upside is she’ll never heal wrong. broken bones eventually put themselves back where they should be, etc etc. It just takes time.
She’s an alcoholic, she’s angry, she’s wild, she’s reckless. She tends to act first, regret never, and laugh in the face of death. She got adopted into the hybrid brother’s family after she gave michael the bird and ran away from heaven at the tender age of sixteen. She’s probably in her mid sixies? or fifties? in the books, and looks closer to her mid to late twenties. she’ll probably stay that way but they have no real way of being sure.
she dislikes being bored, enjoys a good fight, lives for adventure and drama, and is very good at finding everyone’s secrets. Her only power is intuition, a bone deep instinct that is complex and sometimes very unhelpful. Most angels claim this isn’t a power at all. She ignores them.
She’s loyal up until she doesn’t want to be. She’s selfish up until she doesn’t want to be. She makes her decisions on a mental coin toss, but when she means something she means it. You have to pay attention to what she says, how she says it, and can always be bribed with promises of alcohol. Or drama. She does love herself some drama.

Writeblr Secret Admirer Valentine’s Day Event [Update]
Curious about this event? Look here!
Please read through the entirety of this post if you have signed up!
So yesterday, I created an event on a whim because I wanted to spread some positivity on Tumblr for Valentine’s day.
About 100 people have signed up for this event!!!
That’s an amazing number of you in the writeblr community who want to participate and spread some love, and wow I am completely in awe! Thank you all so much! That is way more than I ever anticipated, honestly.
However, that is a lot of people, so I wanted to take this time to answer a couple of questions that I’ve gotten, and make a couple of announcements.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
I was going to start sending out asks after the deadline on Feb. 13th, 5PM CST, but considering that there is a limit of sending 10 asks per hour, I am going to start right now.
The event will remain open for those who haven’t signed up yet until the Feb 13th, 5PM deadline because I don’t want to cheat anyone out of participating if they want to.
There are about hundred of you participating, and with the limit of 10 asks per hour, it will take me ten hours minimum to give out assignments to everyone. If anyone is willing to lend me a hand, please please please DM me!!!
GUIDELINES
Since I’ve gotten a lot of questions, I’m just going to answer them here and remind you all of the guidelines!
Keep your ask box and anonymous option open!
After you receive your Secret Admirer assignment, please head over to your person, and leave them a nice Valentine’s day message.
There is no particular criteria about what you have to send, as long as it’s kind and positive. It doesn’t have to be romantic or anything, just send them something nice! Some potential ideas include: sending them compliments; telling them that they’re amazing and loved; comment something you love about their blog; send them a sweet Valentine’s day poem, the options are endless and the only limit is your creativity.
Be sure to send your secret admirer message sometime on February 14th! Let’s try to get all of the messages in on Valentine’s Day.
Remember: You must be on anonymous when you send your secret admirer message!
When you reply to your secret admirer message and publish it, please tag it as #writeblr secret admirer so we can see all of the love!
If you have any further questions, please send them to my ask box!
Tagging everyone who signed up under the cut! Please don’t peek ;)

11/11/11 tag
I was tagged by @trapped-inadystopianovel
Answer 11 questions, ask 11 questions, and tag 11 people
Here goes
1. Do you take inspiration for fashion in your WIP from the real world?
Yeah, I mean I’m not that imaginative when it comes to clothing, and Mila is currently wearing green scrubs bc she was doctoring Eight despite it being at least 100 years in the future
2. Youngest OC?
Mila - I picture her as being about 17
3. Oldest?
Of the main cast so far (and bc the last important OC is eluding me so far) Eight is the oldest at 24
4. What’s the world your WIP is set in like?
Very futuristic, multiple planets, aliens, a lot of varying levels of poverty and wealth and inequality. Some of the world are beautiful, nature-filled utopias, whilst others have become dead things, used only for mining resources. Earth has some areas that are lovely and green, but that’s mostly where the insanely rich live. Otherwise it’s apartment buildings, bad air, and crowding. It’s not looking good for those living there, and most are too poor to get off-world.
5. Short stories or novels?
I prefer novels.
6. One novel or a series?
Depends on how well-written it is, and if I can sink my teeth into the characters properly.
7. Do you listen to music while writing?
I’m ALWAYS listening to music.
8. What about eating?
My level of multitasking is pretty much god-tier (and by that I mean, I will do almost anything whilst writing, which is why I get nothing done)
9. Do you OC’s have any weird hobbies?
Being a boss of a tech-head, Mila’s used to working very quickly, so she likes to do calligraphy, because it’s something she has to go slow with.
Eight likes to bake. The softy.
10. How far are you from being done?
So. So far.
11. Page and word count.
Page 15, 8047 words.
11 questions
Do you tend to have large or small casts of characters?
What were your OCs childhoods like?
Do you outline your chapters?
Have you got any goals to hit?
How emotionally invested in your WIP are you?
What’s your preferred writing medium?
Do you write in chronological order, or just as the scenes come to you?
How in depth is your world-building?
What POV are you writing in?
Have you cried over your characters lately?
Most importantly: do you love your WIP?
Okidokes, tag time, and pls don’t feel pressured to do it bc I know I often like to get tagged but don’t necessarily want to do anything more than answer the questions

random word ask game: cheese
After their mom died and their dad was… in a state for a while, Claire would make her and Ella grilled cheese for dinner. Claire was not the best cook in the world, but she could make grilled cheese and occasionally heat up tomato soup to go with it. Even after their dad improved (after Claire snapped him out of it), grilled cheese became her comfort food, and Claire started making it for her when she knew her sister had a bad day.
Thanks for asking!

3, 4, 15, 18 for the writer asks!
Hey yo thanks for the ask!
3. What are your favorite clichés?
Uh, hi, yes, you can pry enemies to lovers, enemies to friends, friends to lovers, and found family clichés from my cold, dead hands
4. What clichés do you hate the most?
I really hate love triangles, female love interests with no personality, male love interests with one personality trait (brooding), and females that only bitch at or about one another instead of being supportive (the bitch cliché or competitive female cliché).
15. What’s the most difficult thing for you to write?
To be honest, my ace ass has NO idea how to write attraction or sexual romance in general? I have romance in my WIPs but its all pure, wholesome™ crushing and relationship stuff, no smut or anything. I wouldn’t even know where to start with that.
18. How do you come up with new story ideas?
(Far too easily and frequently lol)
But for real, I draw inspiration from everything around me and see how it could be worked into something creative! Sometimes its from a dream, other times its from something I see in the world that I don’t like and want to comment on, sometimes I draw from emotions I want to express but can’t. Living life really just inspires me to create!

Tagged by @ardawyn! Thank you! The last line is a huge spoiler, and I kind of went back and forth with myself for a while even for this part. But here is a recent line, even though it’s not the last one, haha.
Tagging @shamelesslypoetic @abalonetea @dogwrites @caffienefuelsmywriting
tw: it’s implied that Kandi was outed against her will
“I’m not ashamed of being trans,” you finally whisper. “I’m not. As long as he’s not a jerk, I don’t care if he knows. It’s just.” You rub at your face with the back of your arm. Spit out a cat hair that gets in your mouth.
“I know how much you like him,” Gavin says gently. “I know.”
You nod.
“Do you want me to take you to meet him somewhere?” he asks.
“Dunkin Donuts?” you ask meekly.
“Okay.” He squeezes you close again and says, “Get ready and let me know when you want to go.”
You untangle yourselves from each other, and you pick up your phone. You try to compose your text back as if nothing is wrong.
DDs by the school?
A few minutes pass. Then: Okay. In an hour?
Sounds good.
Even though it really, really doesn’t.

11 Questions Tag Game
Tagged by @corishadowfang! Thank you!
Rules: Answer the 11 questions and then make 11 of your own, then tag some people.
1: Is there a real-life location you’d like to base a story off of/in?
Would I?! Well, there’s the Byzantine Empire, modern day Greece and Turkey. Just look up some pictures of Constantinople and you could see why I’d love to have that sort of setting. I already have a story idea for it. An alt-history fantasy where the empire never fell, and mythical beasts invade Europe...
As for places I’ve already based a story off of...the entire continent of Deaco is full of nations based on real life places. The central region, the human Kingdom of Geralthin, is based off of medieval England (with better weather though!) which can be seen with such names like Henry, Elizabeth, Albert and Edward, along with the English feudal system of Earls, Dukes and Barons, along with “Shire” and “Bury” being included in some town and province names.
The Koutu Kingdom is lightly based on a blend of Gaelic cultures such as the Scottish and Irish, along with some Hellenic additions. Though their homeland is more plains than the Emerald Isle or the rough Highlands, their names reflect this. Domnall, Cuan, Conchobar...there’s also their pasttimes of the great Arena Marathon and other competitions of physical sport that draw on the Greek culture.
The Dacuni Tribes are heavily inspired by the Vikings. Their constant invasions to the south against every one of their neighbors, along with their constant use of battleaxe infantry should make that obvious. The wolfmen also share the similar “-nar”, “-vin”, “nir” at the end of a lot of their names. The tundra environment is similar as well, but I also just wanted an excuse for beautiful winter scenery and an aurora that lights up the sky.
The Pona Federation is a tribal republic that takes light inspiration from the Native Americans of North America. Light. I mostly just got the idea of their government from The Iroquois. The Pona are bipedal turtlefolk that live in a swampy marshland and mostly keep to themselves. I wanted some sort of republic among all the kingdoms of the world, so here they are! They develop into a modern, Constitutional Republic later down the timeline as well, one of the few places in the world that’s a bastion of freedom and liberty in a world full of autocrats and tyrants.
The Abinsil Kingdom is a subcontinent off the coast of Geralthin to the south that’s inspired by medieval Arabic kingdoms. The lizardfolk there are pious (for good reason), isolationist, and mystical. They have sects of holy warriors that guard the groves of saints, strange magic that bends reality around them, wardrakes instead of horses, and a minority of insectoids!
Finally there’s two places I haven’t really touched on, but are part of the world. The Qin Empire, a place based off medieval China (complete with eastern dragons that regularly patrol the skies), and the Republic of Salisca, based VERY heavily off of the United States (where humans have suffered at the hands of dragon-tyrants for millennia before gaining their independence).
2: What are some themes you haven’t used that you think would be fun to touch on?
I’ve touched on The Power of Friendship™ in Blackheart, but its strongest theme was that of determination and perseverance. Never give up! Fight the darkness! As long as you have a reason to believe, something to love, the corruption can never fully claim you!
Another theme I’d like to touch on is the blood of the covenant! The idea that bonds of friendship forged strong enough can be greater than even family! Themes of faith would be interesting too, a long and difficult journey where the hero questions their faith could have some really interesting and powerful results and messages.
3: What character have you created that’s the most like you? The least?
Gotta say Charles. While I’m not a winged, fire-breathing half-dragon wizard, our personalities are very similar. He’s shy, anxious, a bit of a nerd, but a good person and brave when he needs to be...really once you get past that whole dragon part we’re pretty much the same!
As for the least? Well...probably Razorwing. I mean, after what I just told you about Charles, Razorwing is a famous hero who’s always in the spotlight. He’s graceful, and skilled, and charismatic, and loved the world over...so you could see why I think he’s a far cry from me! He’s still a good person though, most characters in Blackheart are.
4: Are there any songs that really encompass what your WIP’s about?
Cold Rain and Snow
“What are we marching for?
What is this trial with our lives?
How will we win this war?
Who among will survive?”
5: Have you ever created unique races/monsters for a story? What are they?
There’s the stock dragons and kobolds, but aside from that I’ve strayed from typical fantasy, for the most part. No elves or dwarves for example. There’s the Koutu, a species of avian adventurers who revel in the unknown and make great company wherever they go.
There’s the wolfmen (Dacuni), though I’m sure there’s similar races in other media. They’re rough, gruff and prone to flying off the handle at the slightest provocation, but they’re ferociously loyal as well.
The Pona, the turtle-men of the East, were made from scratch. I wanted a calm, wise and otherworldly species that had the potential for interesting settings and circumstances (a tribal council sitting around a fire, surrounded by massive trees that go up hundreds of feet and block out the sky, anyone?)
The Ssalik of the Abinsil Kingdom are lizardmen, though not really based on any of other media. They’re friendly with humans and have their own things going on (the mystic magic, the drakes and dragons roaming their deserts...)
The half-dragons take that “dragonblood” thing and take it to the next level, the people taking on the forms of dragons because of it. They’re the size of humans and stand upright, but otherwise look just like dragons. Due to the transformation of body and mind, they have quick wits and an affinity for magic. As such, they make great sorcerers and paladins, and tend to be more accepted in academies and churches as a result.
Pseudodragons didn’t originally exist in the world. They were created, in universe, artificially by a powerful sorcerer. They’re tiny dragons the size of people that have natural urges to do good and help humanity. They love fruits and typically settle in human villages to help the villagers in their day-to-day jobs and activities. They’re near-universally selfless and kind.
The Qin...well, imagine the half-dragons, but use eastern dragons instead of european dragons as the base. They have long, flowing bodies, fins, whiskers, and no wings.
6: What’s your favorite book?
Probably The Outsiders. I can’t say I relate to the characters...but I feel for them, you know?
7: Traditional heroes or anti-heroes?
Traditional! I love classical heroes who always try to do the right thing! I think the edgy dark hero has gotten overused to the point that classical heroes are making a comeback in popularity, and I’m glad to see it. In Blackheart, most are traditional heroes. Paul or “Crux” is the closest to an anti-hero considering his background, but in the city of demons, there’s not much chance for anyone to be anything but heroic.
8: What is your favorite character from any piece of media?
Solid Snake from the Metal Gear series. A legendary hero of uncomparable skill that has somehow pulled through some of the most hopeless of situations, went rogue in an effort to save the world from Metal Gears, and has suffered and struggled against way more than he deserved to.
9: What is an AU of your WIP you think would be fun to explore?
Modern fantasy. There’s just something about fantasy races having guns and using cellphones...
10: Where do you get your inspiration from?
Demon’s Souls. The colorless fog and ruined Boletaria being so close to the black fog and ruined Palethorn are pretty obvious giveaways. Also D&D, as all the dragons, priests, holy magic and kobolds might make clear.
11: What is something you love about your WIP?
The ending. It, uh...kinda ruined me while I was writing it. I’m absolutely in love with the characters, too.
Now for my questions! (Mostly just an excuse to hear some worldbuilding!)
1: What’s your favorite genre and why?
2: Unusual themes or plot points that are important in your story? (Music or cooking, for example)
3: Which two characters are the most polar opposites? What is their relationship in the story?
4: Prophecy vs. Defying fate? Which do you think makes for a better story?
5: Which character are you most proud of, for any reason?
6: If your story could be told in any other sort of media, what would it be? How would you like it made?
7: Which part of your world is the most interesting, in your opinion? Location, lore, whatever really drew you into making it.
8: How much do your experiences color the world or characters of your story? Is it born of a worldview you either have or something you wish reality was closer to?
9: What government system does the setting follow? If it’s an international journey, how are the nations different from each other?
10: What role does culture play in the world? Where did you get the idea for such traditions and pasttimes?
11: How do you like your villains and heroes? How do they think and act most of the time?
