The Mighty Nein is hilarious because they will defeat demons from hell, out-gambit a powerful and manipulative trickster, Transform monstrosities into tiny critters, even depose a False God.
But if you ask to hire them as your bodyguard, they will fail so epically you will be dead on day one.

I just finished episode 114 and I am a touched confused about why and how quickly they jumped to covering up the death, to me it didn't seem like there was any consideration of any options, or even a group conclusion it just... happened

You watch as this extremely grizzled-looking male dwarf approaches from the corner of the shadows, his face a mess of tanned, leathery skin and callouses...and a mane of jet-black hair that tumbles thick past his shoulders and seems to mesh with the rat's nest of a black beard that rests over the clavicle. His tattoos wrap his arm right up to the bracer, and more, you assume, are probably hidden beneath his breastplate.
His arms flex impressively as he pushes himself near you within an intricate chair of scuffed metal and wood, a large pair of slanted wheels affixed to its sides, with numerous tools and plates bolted onto it. You've seen contraptions like this before around Exandria, but none quite as dangerous-looking as this.

You know, something that cracks me up is that the Cerberus Assembly absolutely still thinks the m9 engineered Vess's death somehow, right? Like, "ooh they got themselves assigned as her protective detail, and either assassinated her or helped set up her murder. Classic political moves from a powerful party".
But nope. The Mighty Nein really got roped into a single protective detail which they were actually trying to fufill, and then their client got offed because they were just too busy having hot chocolate bonding time in their tower. It happens. (If you're the Mighty Nein).
