WHO — @cali-cabrera WHEN — saturday, march 30th WHERE — paradise point's ballroom
"Holy shit, Cali, is that you?" Given how close they'd grown both working at Marineland she'd still yet to really have seen or spent time with her coworker outside of the aquarium. "Forgive my language but wow you clean up like a goddess." She even took a step back to get another really solid look at the beautiful brunette. Considering that she'd worked hard together with Isaiah Warren to bring this event to fruition Noa was beyond happy to see familiar faces in the crowd, though none quite stopped her in her tracks like Cali had. "Who knew it would be a charity event that got you out of that wet suit," she joked with a light laugh.

Slightly glossy eyes peered at Cali as she spoke then drifted to River, a smile coming to her lips at the company she was apart of in that moment, before looking out at the beautiful view of the venue. "You think they'd get onto us if we made this a regular thing?" The dive bars were fun and a strangely welcome ambiance but there was no denying sipping at a winery was a cut above. "Like 'hey ladies we're not a bar' type of thing..."
It meant the world to Noa to have made such good friends with her co-workers, and it delighted her to no end that people often questioned if they were actually married to each other. The sister wives joke had taken on a life of it's own and none of them did anything but encourage it. "Even stinky y'all are the best company." Noa raised her nearly empty glass when Cali began another toast smirking and giggling an 'oops' @riverwclker's way. "Cheers to that," she said proudly then sipped, and added, "when does common law marriage kick in?"
Location: Through the Grapevine Winery Starter for: @noaandreas & @riverwclker
"You know, this is much classier than we usually go for for sister wife nights, it feels almost strange to not be getting 2-4-1 cocktails at a dive bar whilst trying to unstick our shoes from the floor." Sipping on her glass of, dangerously delicious, wine, Cali glanced out at the view of the vineyard.
The trio had been friends for so long after meeting at work, Cali had lost count of the amount of times they had gone from Marineland and straight into the nearest bar. "It's also really nice to not worry that River and I stink of fish." Chuckling softly, Cali looked back at her two friends before raising her glass. "One more toast even though I've drunk half of this already. To the Sister Wives, may people forever question if we are all married to each other."

Somehow, someway she just knew Cali when she saw her. Masks be damned, they weren't much against someone you'd become so familiar with considering how often Noa saw Cali at the aquarium. "You're so gracious," she grinned and adjusted her mask slightly. It felt weird to have it on her face. "That and you don't smell like fish." A little laugh ensued her bad joke and she stepped back closer after getting a look at her friend and to move out of the way of someone passing by. "Thank you, feels a little weird to be dressed like this myself. I feel so... exposed. I just think you came here to break hearts looking like this," Noa winked. "I did," she nodded, "and it was fun. A little something outside of Marine life to put together. Are you having fun so far? Recognizing anyone? Now that the party is in swing I'm not really on duty anymore. Wanna grab some drinks?"
"Well if your language is giving compliments like that, I'll forgive whatever you need." She may not have been able to instantly recognise her colleague given their masks, but she would recognise her voice anywhere. It was strange really, how she might not have instantly recognised her, but knowing it was her now, it was so clear who it was. "I know, right? I actually own clothes that aren't designed to keep me warm in freezing cold salt water." Leaning into to press a quick kiss to Noa's cheek in greeting, Cali took the opportunity as she stepped back to look at the woman's dress. "You look absolutely stunning, Noa, honestly. You helped put this event together, right? It looks amazing." Glancing around the ballroom, Cali smiled as she looked back to her colleague. "Tell me you get to enjoy tonight and you're not on duty.."

"You know what... whatever dude let that carelessly slip from his pocket and therefore nearly break your neck got is karma," Noa insisted, her slightly inebriated logic coming through as she shifted her gaze from Cali to River. "Just imagine the poor schmuck thinking he's about to get lucky with some chick and he goes for the condom and it's not there," she shrugged and sipped. This was hoping that the woman kicked him out and said no dice when he produced no protection. "That bartender was lame anyway. He tried cutting us off a bit early." It had been fun and had taken her mind off of everything else, and it happened with the best company. "Wait, wait, wait... catch me up... what happened at the masquerade?" Inquiring, excited eyes widened at Cali and Noa leaned forward a little with her curiosity then glanced over at River in hopes that one of them would say something. "I feel like I might've missed a lot..."
At the kiss blown her and River's way, Noa winked back. "Y'all are lucky I have a window in my office. Even then someone already made a raunchy joke about the hint of fishy smell." Her lip curled in a little disgust; for one the joke was way too easy and that had made it lame, and two there was no way she and her girls weren't ph balanced. "Ohhh the ring is a good idea but yeah," attention shifting between her two friends, "too bad you water babies can't. We could all individually talk about a honeymoon and each say the same place... watch people try and put it together." Even if it was lame she laughed at people's possible expressions as they connected the dots. Noa turned to @riverwclker after another sip of her wine, "only two years in Australia? I think I heard something once about seven years." Then she looked at Cali, "I don't know if it varies from state to state." Maybe the wine was already getting to them because none of them considered a Google search.
this spot most definitely carried a different sort of atmosphere then to what the trio was typically use to. blaring music , flowing drinks and an unlimited amount of people to dance with. this , the winery , was ... very sophisticated , to say the least. the setting is rich with visuals , scents , tastes , and sounds. to be honest , river felt a little out of place here but she was with her girls. therefore , able to put aside her own slightly discomfort and be present. ❛ you're not wrong there , cal. do you guys remember when we found a used condom on the floor and i almost broke my neck after slipping on it ? ❜ an un - ladylike snort of laughter escapes her , shaking her head in both fondness and disbelief. ❛ i think as long as we keep giving them money , don't end up pulling a ' coyote ugly ' moment and leave at a decent time they won't care , ❜ river grins while answering noa.
smiling at her friends , river relishes in the feeling of being apart of cali and noa's lives. for sometime , longer then what river would liked to admit , she didn't have many friends ─ if any at all. cali and noa don't know her story and maybe they don't need to because they already know her , accept her , and love her. she would do anything to not fuck that up. river nods laughs with the two others and rests her head on noa's shoulder. ❛ awe , noa ! you're so , so sweet. and you know what ? that is so true , cal. noa , thank you for putting up with our stink. truly , you're our bravest soldier. ❜ picking up her half empty glass of wine, river gives a cheers with her friends. ❛ i know that it's two years in australia , but i'm not sure what it would be here. ❜
