I enjoy th' cuter thin's in life, like Little Twin Stars. Did ye know Kiki 'n Lala dressed up as pirates? Cutest. --Seafarin' Meri

Its hard to choose especially because there are so many amazing lady pirates who need some recognition (like Ching Shih) but the one with the most interesting background to me is Bartholomew Roberts! He started out as a regular sailor but, but his ship was captured by pirates. Instead of killing him, the pirates employed Roberts as their navigator due to his skill and he went on to become their leader after their original captain was killed. In the end, he himself was ultimately killed in battle, but not before becoming the most successful pirate of the golden age of piracy!--Mod Nye (for whom it is no longer talk like a pirate day!)
