vax just kissed his girlfriend. he didn’t know how else to tell her how loved and seen he felt. “you are fucking incredible, do you know that?” vax laughed between peppering kisses. “you are so good to me. i just always want you to feel as loved as you make me feel. i’m glad i’m doing an okay job.” he smirked, holding her close.

“i know memories are strange for you right now, but i’m glad you found me in this world too. i really missed you.” she still didn’t know about him dying…he swore he would tell her, he promised himself he would. he just didn’t know how…and selfishly, he just wanted them both to be happy. he would tell her, but not tonight.

“uh…yeah.” vax blushed and rubbed at the back of his neck. nevermind that she had said no before, then again he had come one as strong as someone possibly could. he hoped this time he could do things right. “listen, you’re very beautiful, and I know your busy with your shop. i thought you might have other admirers, or that you might be too busy with your shop.” in vax’s mind, there were so many reasons for her to say no. he was well aware he was dating someone out of his league. “i wanted to ask you sooner, i just got nervous. you’re…you’re very important to me.” he admitted, smiling softly.

"Were you really expecting me to say no?" Keyleth asks, slightly nervous as well if his answer was yes, though his next words make her laugh as well. "I believe you, Vax, and dinner up on the rooftop sounds like a beautiful venue. We could relax together, and look at all of the wonderful nature around us, it's perfect. I wish you had asked me sooner."

“i’m fine, i’m more than fine.” vax smiled, placing one of the hand over one of the hands that were on his cheek. he turned his head to place a kiss to her palm. he suddenly felt like things would be okay, like vox machina would find one another again and they would all be together again. he felt like he could do anything with her.

“percy is here. he wants to blow up the barrier. i don’t have any better ideas, and for better or for worse, most of percy’s ideas go rather well. you feel like blowing it up with us?” he asked with a laugh.

The lack of nature around this place had Keyleth feeling strange as she walked through the crowds, wanting to head over to the nearest person who looked nice enough and ask if they had seen anyone that she was willing to describe for them, but before she could take another step towards that person, she heard her name and she quickly turned towards the familiar sound. "Vax!" She calls out, immediately getting engulfed in his arms, his warmth, and everything felt right now that he was here. "I'm okay, are you alright?" She pulls away enough just to rest her hands on his face gently, scanning him quickly, her own face a bright pink now because of her blushing. "I'm sorry, I was worried about you too, and I know that none of us expected this to happen, but I know we would have tried to stop it. Have you seen anyone else or is it just us?"

vax sighed, this was so much harder than he even thought. “did you get those things? the books, they’re called “the legend of vox machina?” he asked curiously. much easier to explain all this if he had actually read it, but in some ways, he was glad she hadn’t. he was tired of other things pulling his fate strings like a puppeteer. he wanted to tell her what happened, not a book. “keyleth, there’s no easy way to say this, but it’s about us and our friends. i knew you long before ivy cove. going out with you, knowing what i know and not telling you would have felt dishonest…we have a lot of history.”

vax smiled softly, slightly amused. he had never been called pretty before, it was nice. the rouge tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear, just taking a moment to appreciate her. he knew she wasn’t always confident in herself, he wanted her to know that he was in her corner, always. “you always look beautiful too, green is just a really good color on you.” it was so fun, making her blush, seeing the pink dust across her cheeks. “keyleth…do you really not remember anything? about your life before ivy cove?”

Her blush only darkens at the soft gesture as her lips part and she glances down at his lips for a lingering minute before his comment makes her look back up and she smiles. "Thank you. I love it because it reminds me so much of the nature around us, black certainly suits you well." She admits, blinking in confusion at the question. "Oh, um, no? I mean, sometimes I have these funny dreams about having powers in relation to nature and a few nightmare ones, but I might just be overthinking it, I'm scared of everything honestly."

“it’s not awkward, it’s cute.” vax smiled, but brushed past her before she could see his blush. he got a chair and hung the plant in the window where she said. “it looks good there. it lightens the place up, makes it a bit more cozy.” it was funny to have something so wholesome in the slightly dark, badass vibe him and vex went for, but it weirdly fit. “is there something i can do to repay you? maybe like take you on a date?”

Keyleth's cheeks heat at the compliment as she fumbles for her words before snorting and waving a hand. "I-uh, thank you, Vax." She muses, reaching up to fiddle with her antlers slightly out of nerves. "I wanted to though, you've been nothing but kind, and I'm just really glad that you love them otherwise this probably would have been more awkward then I'm now making it out to be." She admits, laughing softly at his words. "Believe me, it is just as easy to like you, Vax, and you're welcome. I think the main window would be the perfect spot because then I can see it as well."
