@redhoodiskra wanted plotted starter (Melinoe&Stiles)
Melinoe walked through the woods surround the small town, light green glow coming from her hand as she touched the trees. She was letting the nightmares guide her to the place, she could feel something had happened. Her mother mentioned this town being different. And curiosity kills the cat it seems. She knew the woods weren’t the goal, though she could feel the madness & nightmares that plagued this place. Honestly if she ever needed a re-charge she could come here. The place was full of things that would help her powers.
There was a stronger pull than the others. A demi-god was pulling her toward him, probably unknown to himself. Her nightmares, while cruel, didn’t typically plague someone like him. While demi-gods typically had bad dreams, there was something more to this one. Moving to shimmer through the walls of the home, moving upstairs, she found the one that was drawing her close. Lightly touching his forehead, she washed the nightmares from him. “Wake up.” She said, moving her hand away from his and moving to sit down in the computer chair near the bed.

Lore Olympus ep. 252 critique
Before all you stans get mad I generally thought this episode was pretty okay. But maybe that’s because not a whole lot happened.
Cassandra
So going in the order of events, first up is our favorite gal Cassandra.
Tumblr media
Gotta say, already like her loads.
I don’t have a whole lot to say about her general existence, beyond the fact that it’s stupid that Apollo is using her as a walking incognito tab. My main criticism more lies around the idea of when did Apollo even meet her? He obviously couldn’t have met her during the time skip because there were no interactions allowed between realms during that time and he was kicking it in Olympus.
We also have no indication of when he actually met her post-punishment. There’s no definitive timeline for how far we are post-time skip, but by my estimation, we can’t be more than a month past when the embargo officially lifted. Idk I can already smell the mess that is this storyline a mile away.
The SA plot line
Holy fuck. I don’t exactly know what the hell Rachel is exactly trying to achieve with the SA plot line but I can tell you that the handling of it has been piss poor.
Tumblr media
Uhhh... this is great and all except for the fact that Persephone never thought this. There is not one shred of evidence that Persephone ever liked or actually found Apollo handsome. Not even in the very early chapters. She didn't even say that he made her feel special. She said that she liked the way Hades made her feel. Hades made her feel special by grooming her but that's a whole-ass post on its own.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Even after her assault, she continued to express at minimum a clear discomfort for him in front of others and at maximum immense hatred for him when by herself or with only him. And now suddenly Rachel wants to flip the script? Why? What purpose would that serve? Why is she suddenly backpedaling on a plotline that was established within the first 25 episodes/the second day Persephone is on Olympus? The SA plotline is the longest-running and the "big bad" that has yet to be resolved. But now it only pops up when the story needs a little conflict or an extra boost to drive it forward. Plus now she wants to portray Apollo as this misunderstood ex-love interest/boyfriend with whom the audience is supposed to sympathize? It's disgusting. @genericpuff who I really need to stop tagging in these posts I'm so sorry made an excellent essay about how Rachel is burying the SA plot line that basically takes what I've said above and greatly expands it. Go read it, they made a lot of excellent points.
Melinoe
Ah yes. The mystery deity that was really Hades’ inner child/actual child all along!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So I actually had a conversation with another LO critic about how weird I thought this "inner child -> actual canonical child" pipeline was. Now, granted, I could be reading into this way too much but when I first read this, I honestly thought it was some kind of weird/unintentional representation of parents projecting their trauma onto their children.
We've seen this little ghost buddy in past chapters and a lot of people (myself included) thought that our ghost buddy was a representation of Hades' inner child. A little Hades if you will. And it was portrayed that way. We often saw our little ghost buddy/little Hades who was extremely traumatized by Hades' past experiences. The part of Hades that just can't let go despite what he may claim about "moving on" or "being better". But if this little ghost/Hades is actually their kid Melinoe, that means they saw everything that Hades went through. All his traumas, all his struggles. Everything. And now also with Persephone and her little jaunt through the mind-scape and the shit she saw. So now we have to recontextualize all of those scenes where Hades interacts with this being and tbh the scenes kind of become very ick? This is such a strange direction to take this particular storyline. Something about it just rubs me the wrong way and I don't know if it's my above complaint or something else.
But yeah. Pretty tame in comparison to some of my past posts and posts that will come. Until the next chapter and/or my next post.

Hello there!: what up my dude
How are you today?: been better, been worse
What’s your name and timezone?: call me Spooky plz; EST
What would you say is your place in the world?: between a rock and a really hot rock (hell and/or space???)
That’s so nice! I’m glad we get to talk like this, one more personal question. Where would you like to travel that you’ve never been before?: definitely space, and the bottom of the ocean
Excellent! Now let’s get to the roleplay stuff, shall we? Which skeleton are you eager to see?: Heath’s, Willem’s, & Edith’s are out and they’re great! Ryan, & Cormac also pique my interest!
Which characters (apart from the one or ones you’d like to apply for) would you like to see taken?: Heath needs to be taken no matter what okay I need the King of the Underworld around for my health and well-being. But I’d love to see absolutely everyone taken c:
If you decided to settle in Mount Wells, what would your occupation be? A little hint for this one, you can check out the town map!: I’d prolly work at either the Gorgon or Cerberus, for aesthetic reasons and because I’m a huge mythology nerd and I have Medusa & Persephone tattooed on my arms
If one of the Greek gods, titans or heroes chose you to be a reborn soul, who do you think it would be? Another hint, it can be anyone, not just the ones featured here!: Persephone and Artemis are the two I’m closest to, so I’d have to say one of them first. But I could also see myself as Medusa, Chaos, Nemesis, Tethys, Asteria, Lethe, Methe, Charon, Melinoe, maybe even Hades? I maybe got a little too into this question...
That was so cool! Let’s get meta now! Would you be interested in weekly prompts to start random interactions and write headcanons?: Yes, totally!
Is there any more information about the world or the town you’d like to see posted?: I’m most curious about the inner workings of the town- where are the cool youths hanging out? What are the shady parts of town? What sort of underground cultures are there? Secret parties? Secret concerts? Secret societies? Skulls & Bones kinda deal but with the Greek elite?? I need the hot gossip!
That’s all for now. It’s been a pleasure to chat with you. Enjoy your stay!

Melione waved off his apology. He didn't offend her. She wasn't easily offended and Stiles wasn't one that would offend her. Unless he attacked the things she truly cared about, but she doubt he would. "Tree..." She hummed, looking down at her hands. "Is that the feeling I felt?" She asked before looking at him.
When she had came to the town, she remembered the feeling. She had thought it was just his nightmares, Since she had focused on that, but now she wondered if it was this tree he spoke about "Would you be willing to show me it?" She asked.
"When I came here, I could feel something. I had thought it was the demon attached to your nightmares, but its possible this tree is also what I felt." She said. "And there could be remaining pieces that left to the tree."
Stiles couldn’t help but roll his eyes at the goddess, then raised a brow as if to say ‘no shit, Sherlock’. It took him a minute to realize he gave attitude to a literal god and his expression turned apologetic real quick. “Sorry… but… I don’t know how well you know about Beacon Hills… or my friends…”
He was already caught up in this world, his best friend was a werewolf, the girl he had a crush on his whole life was a mourning fae. So really, while it was a shock at first, it’s not too far fetched that he was the offspring of a Greek Goddess. But if another goddess was telling him that he needed to lay low, and stay out of trouble, he couldn’t laugh at the idea.
“There is a tree in the middle of the Preserves. Like an ancient tree that has a lot of power. There’s a reason why Beacon Hills is called Beacon Hills… I think it’s a literal beacon and that’s way so much shit…sorry…stuff… keeps coming here and tries to kill me and my friends…”

@lightcreators asked for a starter (MelinoexDraco)
The younger deity was sitting in the flower shop that was her mothers. She usually doesn't venture up onto the surface to visit her mother. Mostly a solidarity feeling for her father. But she had been bored, her father was distracted and she had already had some fun with nightmares. So now Melinoe was bored and had way to much time on her hand.
Which is why, laying on the desk in the store, she started to say Draco's name & title. "Ooh Draco, great Witch of Illusions, I call upon thee." She said, very dramatically & made sure to say it in ancient Greek as well. Did she think it would work? Probably not, but she was bored and wouldn't even care if he happen to show up by chance rather than actually because she called his name.

@lightcreators continuing from here since tumblr hates me
Melinoe hummed, trying to not react to his statement about it being worse than it was. She found it remarkable how Draco could still be so human at times. Passing off the horrors he went through with ‘it could be worse’, meaning his ordeal was lesser than others. No matter his connection to her family, she’d always find the very human parts of him. It truly was something that fascinated her, but also worried her when it came to him. She didn’t wish any more hurt toward him, though she wasn’t sure he even realized it was such as that. At least in her opinion. It's why she wasn’t reacting to it… fully. “I believe you still went through a lot with your parents. That isn’t something you brush off.” She said gently. His words hit her though, not realizing he had sacrificed himself. She didn’t know things fully, her mother assured her several times that with Draco, and some others, that their past and experiences are something they’ll tell when ready. So never pushing those she cared about. She had a small wonder what his nightmares were like, and wondered if he’d ever show her. “Why do you owe it to him?” She questioned, wondering more but not pressing. Very Persephone of her to do.
Melione laughed softly. “You find pleasure and pride in those you support.” She said with a small smile. “I guess it makes sense though.” She hummed. “Working toward something with someone and then they accomplish it would make me happy as well.” She said then smiled at the comment about him supporting her. “As I’ve said, we have always supported each other. It makes Mother happy as well.” She said, looking at him. “Mother has always spoken well of you, when I was younger I would remember her telling me things about you. She also gave me a warning to never push you.” She said with a smile. “So you can thank her for me never prying.”  She added.
Draco talking about her father and his affection was interesting. It was true, no one has truly seen her father's soft side except a select few, her included. She hadn’t realized that Draco, being as close as he was to their family, had also seen those and denied a bit of it. “I wonder if it hurts father for you to deny his affections, though I feel he would understand. You know how my uncles can be.” Melione said, shaking her head a bit. “I know my mother appreciated you helping her with that. The times she leaves, my home is different. I can’t imagine what it was like for the first few years mother was having to leave and Father had no one to help him in that part.” She hummed in thought before a grin re-appeared on her face when he asked about the nightmare. “So, this girl, terribly afraid of spiders and fire.” She said, “Well, I may have had giant spiders chase her out of her house & then proceed to have a fire right outside. I did hurt the garden in her dream, which is why I believe mother wouldn’t be too happy with me on that end.” She said.

@lightcreators sent:  " I feel like I know you from somewhere, it's funny truly " Alois II laughed casually in front of the other goddess. When he was fairly amused he can feel her divinity nature. The kind of strange pre-established connection between them. " Maybe we did met. " (Alois II & Melione)
Melione was always told to be cautious when those came up to her, clamming to know her or the family. A protectiveness ran through her, and she looked at the other in front of her. “Riddles, you sound like Hermes.” She said taking a bite of the pomegranate she was holding. “What’s ya name stranger?” She asked. She didn’t deny the connection, she just didn’t acknowledge it either. She wouldn’t be surprised on how she was connected with him.

@lightcreators liked for a starter (Melione&Hades):
Green light followed her as she moved through the halls of the home. Magic swirls around her hand. Its still a strange thing for her to have now, but she’s growing use to it. She moved into the gardens. Her mothers gardens use to only be for Hades, but Persephone chide Hades until Zag and Melione would be able to go in as well. Spring had started, Persephone walked the mortal world and did her duties, leaving the underground and her family. So the Princess of the Underworld wanted to make sure her father didn’t despair to much. “Father.” She said moving closer to the man. “Not sure mother would want you drowning in sorrow near her Roses.” She teased gently.

@lightcreators liked for a starter (Melione&Alice)
There were two people that never should have been anything close to related. That would be a snarky girl who gives you looks that can probably kill if she put enough into it and another who looks like a cinnamon roll.... and could also possibly kill you. While they hadn’t cross paths often as Melione got older, she remembers Alice as a younger goddess. As Persephone & Hades took care of her, and she’d watch Zag do about anything his fire feet wanted him to do, she would watch the innocent girl pop back and forth, mostly speaking to her parents. It would be a bit later that Mel would realize just how much more there was to the blonde. But there was never a warning to not be near her. Possibly cautious looks, but never said exclusively to Mel. Plus the more Melione trained with Hecate, the more she learned what she could do, the easier it was to possibly relate to Alice. “Alice, do you have a moment?” Melione asked looking at her. “Or are you going to create chaos again?” She asked, a small smirk on her face.

@lightcreators sent:  " In an retrospective reflection, you've been at my side all along, then ? " Draco questioned slowly towards Melione. He appreciated irony she was an biological child of Hades, when he received reflection of her partially and otherwise inside an goddess entity linked towards the Underground. " Kind of secretive supporter meanwhile I am tragically supporting you all the same ? " He sensed he could ... open up more with her, more naturally, more honestly. Between Hades children, as by definition, even though he refused the parental claim, she was metaphorically his sister ... when the thought itself seemed appeasing. After all, he was a nightmare for others and experienced an quite nightmarish existence ... and didn't considered himself as the best sane boy in history. Besides, everything was just funny. " I am supporting your dad after all, as a witch ... well, it's also my father, sort of ... I have still complications about accepting all of that. "
Melione looked back at him. Draco was always around, bothering her mother and father, though they both seemed fond of him. Well, as fond of someone her father could be. Though she never had an issue with Draco, since he wasn’t there to start anything with her family. In contrast, Draco was there, helping her parents along the way to sneak past the ruling of her Uncle. “I guess we’ve both been at each other sides. Tends to happen with this family. You’ve met my mother. I think my brother picked up that trait as well” She smiled, thinking about Zagreus for a moment before hearing the last part of his sentence. “Trust me, both of them look at you as one of their children, as strange as things are like that.” She said. “What can I help you with today, Draco?”

Melinoe hummed and let him move her to the bed. She didn't like how vulnerable to the Demi-God she was, but it couldn't be helped. Her nightmares, her magic, it drained her when it came to that thing in his head. So now she was at Stiles mercy and she was thankful he wasn't trying anything. Though she was sure a fear of her father probably helped in that way.
Looking over at him as he spoke she took his words in. "How were you possessed?" She asked. "You are a Son of Athena, your mind should be protected more than most. Yes you have the dreams that most Demi-Gods have, but for your mind to be attacked its not the usual. Unless you..." She paused and looked at him.
"Please don't tell me you let the thing in?" Mel asked.
“At least they won’t be so… consuming like the nogitsune nightmares…” He didn’t know exactly what Melinoe did, but he felt lighter, more like himself before everything happened, which was definitely a relief. Even if he was half god, not sleeping wasn’t going to help him in the long run.
“Maybe you should lay down…” Stiles let the goddess lean on him before setting her down on the bed, moving her feet so she could lay down. Once Melinoe was settled, he moved to sit at his desk to give her some room. He sat up straighter though when she called him Son of Athena. Not many people have used that title for him, at least to his face and it was another reminder that the being in his bed was not human.
“I was possessed by the Nogitsune about… 4-5 months ago? So the nightmares have been worse since then, but I’ve always had trouble sleeping… especially since my mom died… well my other mom….” Stiles was still trying to figure out how he felt about his parents’ relationship with Athena. More so, how he felt about the goddess who claimed to love both his parents but let his mother die.

Melinoe took his hand and let him pull her up. She was still a bit dizzy from the moment before she knew she just need a moment. "I mean, you'll have nightmares." She said to Stiles, giving a bit of a small smirk. It was her job after all. "But none that aren't like most have, including you Demi-Gods." She said before moving to stumble a little toward him. "Ooh okay, probably need to lay down." She said, moving to reach back toward his bed before she completely fell over.
"Tell me something, Son of Athena." She said after a moment, looking back at him. "How long have those nightmares been attacking you?" She asked. "Was this first time your nightmares were this bad?" She added. It made her curious. His mother was Athena, from all accounts told, there shouldn't have been something that attacked him this way, so it made her wonder if the creature had been waiting for him.
Melinoe was too still, there was a part of Stiles that wanted to just shake the goddess to see if she would wake up. Of course he didn’t know how many people he would offend if he just casually tried to shake the daughter of the underworld. And while he enjoyed Greek mythology growing up, he didn’t memorize all of it to know who not to fully piss off, though he figured Hades was one of them.
Stiles hovered over the goddess, watching, waiting, and hoping she would be alright. He didn’t know how to explain to his dad why there would be a dead goddess in his bedroom. But then her eyes fluttered opened and the demigod sighed in relief. “Yeah, tell me about it… you good?” He reached out his hand for her to take so he could pull her up. “So… it’s actually gone now? Like I won’t have anymore nightmares gone?”

Melinoe didn't think to far into what would happen when she challenged a demon to attach her. She didn't think anything would happen to badly, she was the nightmare bringer. She took fears, and used them against others, there shouldn't be anything it could use.
She forgot she wasn't always cold stone.
While she acted like her father, keeping parts away from others, she had fears. She had things that were being used against her as she tossed side to side on the floor. Tears fell from her eyes as she fought with the nightmare creature, fighting against the things it as it tore her mind apart.
It took a few more moments before she stilled once again. After that, it took a bit more for her to slowly wake up, eyes blinking open, blinking tears away from her eyes before she looked over to see Stiles. "Fuck that thing." She said.
The dark, cold feeling was suddenly gone, replaced with white and clarity. It was gone, finally gone after everything. Stiles could move on and maybe finally learn to be himself again. Well, at least as much himself as he could be knowing what he was now.
"You’re no longer hindered by that darkness. Time to learn who you really are now. Tell the Daughter of Hades and Persephone I owe her thanks…”
Stiles knew that was his mother talking to him again, but the voice was the clearest he ever heard it. And while the encouragement was anything but, he knew he needed to wake up and help Melione finish off the nogitsune once and for all.
He opened his eyes and found himself back in his room, the sun starting to peak through the window in his room. He sat up quickly looking around the room, and started to panic when he saw the Goddess on the floor. “Melione? Melione!” He slid down to the floor beside her, hovering over her to see if there was anything he could do.

Melione watched the scene in front of her. She felt jealous of the a creature being able to do this, but she refocused on why she was here. Her mother owes her one. Closing her eyes she let her energy surround Stiles, drawing whatever was still left of the Nogitsune toward her and away from Stiles.
"A Goddess is better than a demi-god." She said, her hand and body glowing as she swept the scene, leaving them in a blank room with white walls. "Smart." Melione mumbled before groaning as she felt the being wrapping itself around herself.
Outside, in Stile's room, she fell from her spot. Eyes still shut but breaking the connection that was required to send Stiles into his nightmare and should wake him up once her hand left his head.
Stiles was in that dark classroom again, one of the few moments the nogitsune let him see when it took over his mind, and against he was holding the hilt of the katana, holding it in place in Scott’s stomach. He could see the confused betrayal in his friend’s eyes as blood spilled from his mouth.
“Stiles…why…?
"I’m sorry… I’m so sorry I can’t…” Stiles wanted to let go, but a cold wrapped hand held on to his wrists, a voice that sounded too much like his own whispered in his ear.
“Do you feel it Stiles? The power of wielding the sword? You like it don’t you?” The Nogitsune’s grip tightened around his wrist.
“Shut up…”
“It feels natural. It is in your nature, isn’t it demi-god? Don’t think I didn’t know what you were even if you didn’t. I didn’t choose you because you were human, Stiles. I choose you because you were a born tactician, the son of a Goddes of War…”
Stiles’s heart sank, if he knew what he was before… if he parents just told him… maybe he could’ve saved his friends…maybe…
