I CARE A LOT (2020) Grade: C+
Sometimes it got too silly for the overall tone. Otherwise, it was an intriguing plot. Maybe more exposition on some char's. The first half was far more interesting but they couldn't continue the momentum. But a great cast, #RosamundPike doesn't get enough credit.

honestly, how do any (or all!!!) of your OCs feel about Gordon? You have a lot of interesting, multifaceted takes on how Gordon is perceived in the HL2 world, and I’d love to hear how your peeps fit into that
wishing for all is like a monkeys paw on your part, cuz i have quite a few, god speed with reading all this o7 ill be going in order as they appear on my master post of ocs, ill pu tthis under a read more since its soooooooo long
Brock Fuentes: previously knew of Gordon before the rescas, got piss scared of him during the res cas when he refused to help gordon open some doors becuz he was to scared to leave his hidey hole so gordon man handled him and slapped him around a bit. so by the time of half life2, hes had people around him who believed in the messianic nature of gordon which is quite the departure from his memory of both the up-tight asocial man he heard about and the violent forceful deranged man he met. if he were to see gordon acting much the same now or hear about people having that pure image they had be shattered hed feel a bit vindicated
Richard Montague: He roomed with gordon before the rescas and thought he was a pleasant roomate if not somewhat intimidating due to his serious and minimal socialization, but by the time the rescas happened, they were amicable sorta friends. At most during the rescas he might have heard that gordon was killing swathes of soliders which would be terrifying knowing how much he was struggling to survive in comparison. BY half life 2, gordon is mostly a memory and he had been mostly innundated from resistance culture, having spent most of his time working for the combine using his background in biology to help with xen infestations, so he heard more propoganda against gordon freeman if anything. he doesnt really believe it but it sticks around mentally and mixes with his knowledge of fondness for gordon. eventually when he teams up with the resistance after fleeing the city, he hears more about gordon from their point of view occasionally, which sits better with him, but ultimately, what the perspective of gordon is doesnt matter much to him since hes more focussed on not dying. then when gordon comes back and people start talking about how he acts its concerning and sounds unreal so he doesnt really believe its actually gordon unless he sees him for himself since it sounds so unlike the man he knew.
Jill Pobst: she sadly doesnt make it out of the rescas, but she knew gordon during it, at that point he was still mostly mentally present, and was still learning the curve of combat so she helped him out before her death. he was just a lab coat who was less of a coward than most and didnt talk much
Isiah Poole: he worked at black mesa before the rescas, his sector of work was far removed from sector C, but he wouldve heard of gordon thru the newspaper. post rescas, gordon wouldnt have likely come up where isiah is existing in anyway that would have a permanant impact on his psyche
Knipex: as a borrower in black mesa, they arent super clued in to the personnel and any drama that arent posing a direct threat to the colony and post since theyre with isiah most of the time, they also arent going to hear much about gordon post rescas
Timmy Ridgewell: grew up under the combine so for most of his life, he wouldve heard only the propoganda about gordon and the resistance in general but as he gets older hell start running into the resistance and slowly hearing more about gordon as a messianic figure, but he is rather ressiitant to the concept since it just doesnt make sense, so hes more of a distant saint figure than some greater power who can actually help anyone, and hes almost sore about gordon coming back in hl2 and being real, but also disappointing his friends by being less than stellar personality wise
Bagels: Behind the guise of just a cat, Bagels is actually a controller, and harbors a great deal of resentment towards gordon for destroying everything the nihilanth had built to escape the oppression of the combine, and is smug over everything gordon did failed to protect his people in the long run, but still is willing to work alongside the resistance so that the combine is toppled, the enemy of my enemy is my friend and all
Angus and Ed: also only knew minimal second hand knowledge of gordon through the newspapers, and have been living in xen since the rescas (and one of them is just dead) so their knowledge of gordon never updates with time
Galvanizer: just a lil rollermine, isnt sapient, nor has audio receptors and never meets gordon to form an "opinion" of him
Fred Otten: didnt read the newspaper or socialize much with people who wouldve known gordon while he worked at black mesa so he didnt know gordon really existed, and post rescas, he is willing to whore himself out for the combine for a variety of reasons, so even if he doubts one man could do anything that big, hes willing to accept the propoganda idly however and when gordon does return hes very motivated to kill him for the reward and any rewards unofficially that he can et his hands on even if he is terrified of what gordon is capable of based on the years of propoganda hes internalized
Robert Briggs: he knew gordon through Richie, met him a couple times, he thinks hes somewhat rude sometimes but ultimately kinda harmless and nice in his own way. he doesnt survive the rescas so his opinions of gordon never changes
V-8751: during the rescas it knew that gordon exitisted and that he was a high priority target, but never ran into gordon and was isolated from people who would know of gordon for most of its life post rescas even during hl2 before it made friends with cicada who both has their own experiences with gordon and access to the rest of the knowledge and opinions of the rest of the vorts thrut he vortessence, so learning about what happened to the nihilanth whats happened to him the variety fo opinions about gordon, kinda confuses it and its just a lot fo conflicting information so since he isnt important to the life its living, V-8751 so it sorta lets all that information settle without much concern, at best is glad he killed the nihilanth, and regards the way fletcher treats him as kinda strange
Fletcher Lamb: spent time in a variety of places before leaving the purview of the combine, so heard a variety of rumors about gordon before he left the sphere of influence that gordon has reputationaly, so she holds him in regard as a sort of icon but only loosely treats him religiously, she treats his name the way that people treat a piece of candy that supposedly keeps a computer system running, it comes up when things get rough and is kept quietly in place to be effective but isnt a main focus of his life until something goes wrong
Cicada: was nearly killed by Gordon and had many friends killed by him as well so is rightfully afraid of and dislikes gordon, even if they knows in teh past present and future that gordon frees them, but because of thier hyper connection to the vortessence, much of their personal opions are muted and mixed with the wider consensus on gordon (and most things) in a way that can be confusing and more uncertain than most vorts are perceived as
Felix Kessler and Alexis: prior to hl2 as metrocops, they both didnt really care about gordon as a figure in propoganda since he wasnt anything that could further thier careers since eh wasnt real, at best Alexis was annoying enough about his job to learn as much as he could about gordon to better identify what he thought could be secret organizational code talk which did result in innocent people getting killed or punished, during hl2, they are both very annoyed that they werent put on the case to kill gordon, and felix in particular is vying to be deployed near gordons predicted path since of the two hes the less despised of the pair
Antoine-Valery Veilloux: travels around a lot so has seen a lot of different interpretations of gordon and has even met people who knew him, so he doesnt really buy into him as a god or saint like figure, but knows he did a lot of the things people claim he did, just not as bombastic, thinks he was a bad ass guy but uses his name as a expletive for fun (ie, freeman damnit, oh for freemans sake)
Damned Crows: didnt pay much attention to anything the human residents of white forest say outside something they find funny, but once gordon is on his way to white forest, they pick up on his arrival and mostly watches since things seem tense. from a distance they can tell that gordon is respected by most if not all the humans of white forest but also they think hes kinda scary and theyd rather not tangle with him
#ponderingradioactivedecay#oc: jill pobst#oc: richard montague#oc: cicada#oc: lazar#oc: alexis#oc: damned crows#oc: felix kessler#oc: antoine valery veilloux#oc: fletcher lamb#oc: v 8751#oc: robert briggs#oc: fred otten#oc: galvanizer#oc: angus#oc: ed#oc: timmy ridgewell#oc: bagels#oc: knipex#oc: isiah poole#oc: brock fuentes#ask#ive excluded the ocs that are gordons family memebers and family frineds since they dont make it to the second game and would have#generic opinions about him tbh lol

SHE HAS TO KEEP MOVING, has to keep busy so his questions may die. but cinya is a deer caught in the headlights and though she doesn't think isiah a threat she never can be too sure. she looks away, gazes off into the distance to minimize his view of her damaged skin, but she knows he's already seen too much for her to keep trying to convince him otherwise. then isiah mentions his dad, and cinya's reaction is visceral — her body tenses up, gaze immediately flickering nervously. « no ! » she exclaims — too fast, too aggressively. she feigns a smile instead and forces a chuckle. « i wouldn't want to inconvenience him. » her voice trembles slightly despite her best efforts, fear still present in her eyes even when she wills it away. « i'll be fine, i — » she stops before she utters the word promise.
" we both know that's not a promise but a lie . " 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐭 𝐰𝐡𝐢𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐡𝐢𝐦 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐥𝐲 — to not pry further , but the bruised skin on her face was a silent scream begging for attention he couldn't ignore . “ you know. ” he continued , voice steady yet tinged with concern . “ acting like something didn’t happen doesn’t make it go away . ” he angled his head slightly , trying to catch the light against the mark , and the realization hit him like a cruel wave—this was fresh , a testament to something sinister, something she was too afraid to voice . " look — ” he leaned in a bit closer , his tone shifting from observation to determination . " if someone’s bothering you , I can get my dad involved . we can’t have some creep harassing you while you’re out here running this place solo . ” his heart raced, a thudding drum echoing in his ears , imagining the weight of that burden resting squarely on her shoulders .

Thoughts on AEW: All In 2024
Just my thoughts on the show, as well as the Zero Hour preceding it. Obviously, there will be spoilers.
ZERO HOUR
16-Man Tag Match: Tommy Billington, Kip Sabian, Rocky Romero, Kyle Fletcher, Lio Rush, Action Andretti, and Top Flight (Darius Martin and Dante Martin) vs Jay Lethal, Satnam Singh, Anthony Ogogo, Ariya Daivari, Private Party (Isiah Kassidy and Marq Quen), and The Dark Order (John Silver and Alex Reynolds)
I'll be completely honest, I forgot this match even happened.
Tony seems to like to do these random-ass, giant, multi-man matches during the pre-shows.
I assume this is probably just so these guys could get a PPV pay day or something.
Absolutely one of the matches on the show.
Mixed Tag Match: Willow Nightingale and Tomohiro Ishii vs Kris Statlander and Stokley Hathaway
I love Willow. She's one of my favorites.
I'm still not over Statlander betraying Willow.
I have been loving Ishii just hanging around AEW having random matches
LMAO Stokely slammed Ishii.
Legitimately fun match. Willow and Ishii work well together, despite Ishii being just some kind of man-shaped refrigerator with no neck
10-Man Tag Match: The Von Erichs (Marshall Von Erich and Ross Von Erich), Sammy Guevara, Katsuyori Shibata, and Dustin Rhodes vs Undisputed Kingdom (Matt Taven and Mike Bennett) and Cage of Agony (Bishop Kaun, Brian Cage, and Toa Liona)
lmao Sammy and Brian Cage both have Wolverine-themed gear. This feels like those scenes in shows where two girls show up to the same party wearing the same dress.
I am always a fan of Shibata wrestling on my television or other device.
Bishop Kaun and Toa Liona are so fucking cool.
I love that Dustin is walking around with two belts. And that he's still able to go as good as he does.
This was a fun match.
Interlude
Saraya and Harley Cameron are genuinely entertaining as heels. Nobody can harass the cameraman quite like Saraya.
I do not want to keep hearing Ronnie Radke. Please stop.
It's cool that they've brought Saraya's whole family back this year.
HOLY FUCKING SHIT JAMIE HAYTER IS BACK. LET'S FUCKING GO DUDE.
HELL YEAH. FUCK YEAH.
I missed Jamie a bit.
ALL IN
Four-Way Ladder Match, AEW Trios Championship: The Patriarchy (c) (Christian Cage, Nick Wayne, Killswitch) vs Bang Bang Gang (Juice Robinson, Austin Gunn, Colten Gunn) vs House of Black (Malakai Black, Brodie King, Buddy Matthews) vs PAC and Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta
Presumably PAC/Claudio/Wheeler was actually going to be Death Triangle originally. But with Penta and Fenix on their way out, they probably had to change that.
They actually did everyone's entrance during Zero Hour, which I thought was really cool.
This match was absolutely ridiculous.
Christian Cage ran to the back, like, immediately lmao
And then showed back up to try to climb a ladder.
HoB continues to be very, very cool and very scary.
Juice Robinson is still my favorite wrestling goblin.
KILLSWITCH HELD CHRISTIAN BACK FROM GETTING THE BELTS??
PAC, Claudio, and Yuta?? The PACPool Combat Club?? They're the winners?
I had fun. Everyone in this is great and genuinely entertaining.
AEW Women's Championship: "Timeless" Toni Storm (c) vs "The Glamour" Mariah May
This is still one of the messiest break-ups I've ever seen in wrestling.
Genuinely great match.
Mariah's sadistic bisexual gimmick is fantastic.
I assumed there'd be blood, because there was white clothing. I'm glad my assumption was validated. This match benefited greatly from bleeding. It added a lot to the, well, blood feud.
Toni not only lost the belt, but she lost to her own finishing move. The sheer disrespect done by Mariah was a thing of beauty.
I can't wait to see Mariah's reign.
I can't wait to see what Toni does next.
FTW Championship: "The Learning Tree" Chris Jericho (c) vs Hook
The Learning Tree is such a goofy gimmick.
If I wasn't just tired of Jericho, I'd probably enjoy this more.
Why is Hook wearing kinesio tape over his eye? Does he not know about eye patches?
I'm genuinely so glad that they both managed to avoid hitting any of those cricket balls when doing suplexes, etc.
HOLY SHIT TAZ PUT THE TAZMISSION ON BRYAN KEITH.
HOOK GOT THE BELT BACK.
I love seeing Taz trying to hold back being a Proud Dad during Hook's matches.
Three-Way Tag Team Match, AEW World Tag Team Championship: The Young Bucks (c) (Matthew and Nicholas Jackson) vs FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) vs The Acclaimed (Max Caster and Anthony Bowens)
I don't know who I want to win, but it's none of these teams.
Max being an obnoxious edgelord on the internet and in his raps has really soured me on The Acclaimed, which sucks, because they're both good.
This was a genuinely fun match.
As much as I'm kind of tired of FTR vs Bucks, and The Acclaimed, all six of these dudes are still really good and kept me invested in the match.
Not really surprised that the Bucks won.
Oh shit, Grizzled Young Veterans?? I've heard great things about them. I wonder if they're going to be the ones to take the belts off of the Bucks.
Casino Gauntlet Battle Royale:
Started off with Orange Cassidy vs Okada.
Okada's comedic shithole heel role has been fantastic and was put to great use here
OH SHIT WHAT THE FUCK NIGEL MCGUINESS IS IN THIS???
Nigel clearly is returning to action so he can personally retire Danielson himself
OH SHIT IT'S HANGMAD. AND JARRETT.
AND WHAT THE FUCK ITS RICOCHET. I knew he was signed, but it's still awesome to see him.
lmao Christian limping to the ring.
Killswitch is back to being Luchasaurus??
THAT FUCKING DINOSAUR JUST GAVE CHRISTIAN THE WIN LMFAO. What the hell is going on here. Where are they even going with this.
I still enjoyed it. I like the random times, and that it can effectively end at any time.
AEW International AMERICAN Championship: MJF (c) vs Will Ospreay
Find someone who loves you as much Will loves Assassin's Creed.
Max's USA gimmick has been the single most obnoxious thing in AEW for a bit, but I love it.
Ospreay is so fucking good, dude. MJF is so fucking good. These dudes are so good, dude.
OH SHIT DANIEL GARCIA IS BACK. Fuck yeah! I love Danny, and he's looking all serious.
WILL OSPREAY WINS BRUV.
AND THE CHAMPIONSHIP IS BACK TO THE INTERNATIONAL TITLE BRUV
Solid as hell match, Bruv/10.
AEW TBS Championship: Mercedes Moné (c) vs Dr. Britt Baker, DMD.
This match is a death spot, Christ.
Considering she had some serious back problems, and a mini-stroke, and has been out of action for 10 months, I'm genuinely glad to see Baker back.
Mercedes is such an obnoxious heel, I love it.
C O R G I S
Both Britt and Mercedes with the Eddie callbacks
Britt looking right into the camera to smile with Kamille gets ejected was beautiful stuff.
I am begging Mercedes to get a better finisher.
I don't know if it was ring rust, or a lack of real chemistry with the two, but this was not the best match.
I enjoyed it, but it was still definitely one of the matches of all time.
As I'm writing this some time after the event, I also want to say that I am so fucking sick of the discourse about this match being either "Mercedes is the worst wrestler ever' or "Britt is the worst wrestler ever'. This shit has nuance for fuck's sake.
Coffin Match, AEW TNT Championship: Jack Perry (c) vs Darby Allin
Jack's custom belt looks so cool. I can't believe the dude, like, forged that shit himself.
Darby fucking glued thumbtacks to his goddamn face.
Nobody dies like Darby.
This shit is brutal.
Jack has a fucking bag of glass lmao
THE "CRY ME A RIVER" CHANTS LMAOOO
Turns out the way to beat Darby in a coffin match is to bind him, put him in a body bag, and put the bag in the coffin.
The Bucks (with a freshly-shaved Nicholas) show up with gasoline to burn Darby and the casket.
IT'S STIIIIIIIIIIIIIIING
I've said it before, find someone who loves you as much as Tony Schiavone loves Sting
Title vs Career, AEW World Championship: Swerve Strickland (c) vs Bryan Danielson
Of course you give Danielson this fantastic video package about his career.
Of course you give Danielson "The Final Countdown" for his entrance.
Swerve Strickland continues to be the coolest motherfucker alive in pro wrestling today.
Swerve is working this match like he's actually trying to kill Danielson. It's beautiful.
Beating Danielson up in front of his children is monstrous. I love it.
Swerve took a busaiku knee and brushed his fucking shoulder off.
I love how Bryan does an Injury spot in every fucking match, and I know it's A Thing, but every goddamn time there's part of me that's like "Oh shit" because he's that fucking convincing.
IT'S HANGMAD AGAIN.
Oh shit, Bryan is getting the comeback.
Bryan absorbing kicks while fucking staring at his family and saying "I love you" was fucking glorious.
SWERVE TAPPED. BRYAN IS THE FUCKING AEW CHAMPION.
If this had been his retirement match, it would have been an absolutely perfect send-off for the man. Dude got the absolute shit kicked out of him.
I didn't even really want Danielson to win, but I was still, like, rooting for him toward the end there.
Like seriously, Bryan Danielson is one of the greatest pro wrestlers of all time. The dude is amazing.
I am still genuinely surprised that Tony somehow talked Danielson into winning the belt, though.

AEW Dynamite 5/1/24
TK is on the screen from Jacksonville, but the feed cuts as he talks. The Bucks say they lost connection with Tony. They say they are not fired after what they did to Tony because of ironclad contracts with a founders clause. And if Tony is unreachable, the EVPs succeed him in running the show, so they are in charge now. Nice.
Swerve promo. He says he is a champion the people deserve, but what they don't deserve is power-hungry EVPs. He says to bring out his DON opponent. The Bucks appear on the screen. They say this is the first time we hear from Swerve as champion, and he insults his bosses and curses. The network didn't like that, so that will be a fine for Swerve. They misdirect saying that Swerve's opponent for DON is Canadian, a former champion, and has been gone for a while. But it's not Kenny Omega, it's Christian Cage! Haaaha. Christian attacks Swerve and lands Killswitch on the belt! Nick Wayne lands a cutter on Nana!
Christian says he hasn't forgotten when Swerve left his son Nick in a pool of his own blood in his home gym. He and Swerve were a tag team at the biggest show in the history of this business, and Swerve lost the match and embarrassed him. Now is the best time to make Swerve pay for his mistakes. He is going to embarrass Swerve and make him a footnote in AEW history. Swerve says his daughter barely knows him because of how hard he has been working for the championship. Christian says when he is done with Swerve, his daughter won't want to know him, but she will have a father she can look up to for the rest of her life. Lmao.
Christian getting a world title shot makes no sense, as he has done nothing to earn it, after just losing the TNT Championship. But I guess we're supposed to think the Bucks are just handing opportunities to their friends. Great promo work here by Christian as usual.
Copeland is defending his TNT Championship against a member of the House of Black, but he won't know which member until just before the bell. It's Buddy Matthews.
Adam Copeland (c) vs. Buddy Matthews for the TNT Championship -- They start on the mat. Rana takedown by Matthews. Topé by Copeland. Huge boot from Matthews to Copeland into the barricade as Copeland sits on a chair outside. Spike, draping DDT by Matthews over the rope! Matthews stands on Copeland's back and lands a nasty kick to the back. Choke by Matthews, and Copeland finally escapes. Copeland with a flapjack. They trade right hands on the top rope, and both fall off to the outside, hitting the apron on the way down. Both make it back in the ring at 9.5. Matthews escapes an impaler DDT attempt and lands a nasty elbow. Copeland with an elbow of his own. They collide off the ropes with cross bodies at the same time. Matthews is bleeding from the mouth. Copeland dominates the break with kicks to the midsection as Matthews lies on the mat. Matthews lands a sit-out powerbomb for two! Copeland lands an avalanche impaler DDT and makes a slow cover for two! Matthews cuts off a spear attempt with a kick to the midsection, then lands two more knee strikes, then a jackhammer for two, then locks in a cross face with the arm trapped! Copeland gets Matthews' shoulders down for two, then lands an Olympic slam for two. Matthews side steps a spear and drives Copeland into the corner! Matthews lands a G2S and goes for a curb stomp, but Copeland reverses, slings Matthews into the ropes, and meets him with a spear for the pinfall!
Good back and forth match, but I never got super into it. Matthews spitting up blood and Copeland subsequently targeting the midsection add a lot to the match. Good finish too. Hope Matthews is okay. Rating: 3
Copeland attacks Matthews after the match and goes for a conchairto, but the lights go out, and Black shows up. He dares Copeland to hit Matthews with the chair. Matthews tells him to do it. Copeland turns on Black with the chair raised, but the lights go out, and HOB disappear.
Samoa Joe vs. Isiah Kassidy -- Joe throws Kassidy up, Kassidy screams, and Joe drops him to the mat. Lmaooo. Joe with jabs to the face and strikes in the corner. Kassidy lands a cutter off the top to Joe on the outside, driving Joe's face into the top rope! Kassidy goes for a topé con giro, but Joe walks away, and Kassidy lands flat on his back on the floor!!!! Damn! Kassidy comes back in the ring with a chop to the throat and a dropkick. Kassidy goes to the top, but Joe lands a headbutt and a Muscle Buster for the pinfall!
Very good short match. Love watching Joe work. Kassidy landing flat on his back on the floor off that topé after Joe just walked away was a crazy spot. Rating: 2.5
Skye Blue promo. She says she had Willow pinned last time if it weren't for that bitch on a leash, Stokely. Lol. She challenges Willow to a match for the TBS Championship.
Orange comes out with a mic. He says he thought Trent and Chuck would beat each other up in the parking lot and get it out of their systems, and they would all stand together again as best friends. But that's not going to happen. Orange says Chuck will never wrestle again. Trent comes out and says big surprise, Orange Cassidy is trying to make everything about himself again. Trent says Orange is trying to make somebody else's career ending about himself. He says Chuck's career is over because of Orange. Don Callis comes out, whispers in Orange's ear, and walks to the back with Orange.
Trent was great here yet again. I really hope the stuff about Chuck's career being over isn't legit. That would suck. Don't really care about the Don Callis of it all.
Renee is with Jack Perry. He says he meant it when he said the only thing he wants is what is best for AEW. And some people may not see it right now, but what he did to Tony is what's best for AEW. Tony made him the scapegoat, but he accepted it, because it was a sacrifice that someone was going to have to make. Now AEW is entering a new era under the Elite. Good promo!!!!
Chris Jericho (c) vs. Katsuyori Shibata for the FTW Championship -- Chop exchange! Jericho lands a lionsault to Shibata's knees, then takes a trash can lid to his head! Jericho pulls out a bag of hockey pucks. Shibata lands an STO, followed by a vertical suplex onto the hockey pucks! Shibata throws away the trash can lid, kicks away the hockey pucks, and MURDERS Jericho with chops!!!!! Hot damn!!!!! They continue with a nasty chop exchange that continues through the whole commercial break!!! Good god!!! Jericho cuts off a corner dropkick attempt by Shibata by hurling a hockey puck at Shibata's head!!! Geez!!! Jericho with a double leg takedown, then locks in the Walls! Shibata escapes smoothly and counters into a Figure Four! Jericho breaks the hold by throwing a hockey puck at Shibata's face at close range!!! Damn!!! Jericho puts a trash can on Shibata's head and hits him with the kendo stick! Shibata just keeps taking the kendo stick shots and backing Jericho toward the corner with the trash can still on his head. Lmaooo. Shibata backs him all the way into the opposite corner and lands headbutts with the trash can on his head! Lool. Shibata puts the trash can on Jericho's head and lands a corner dropkick for two! Shibata grabs a kendo stick and hands one to Jericho. They sit down and just nail each other in the face and neck with the kendo sticks!!! Geez!!!! Shibata lands a back suplex on Jericho with the kendo stick between Jericho's legs onto the hockey pucks!!!!! Damn!!! Shibata lands alternating jabs to the face and disgusting, heavy chops to the chest!!! Shibata goes for a running dropkick through a table propped up in the corner, but Jericho stops him with a Codebreaker for two!! Shibata avoids the Judas Effect and catches Jericho in a rear choke! Shibata lands the ripcord overhand chop!!!! Hot damn!! Big Bill comes into the ring with a big boot and chokeslams Shibata through a table! Jericho covers Shibata for three.
Iam well aware that this match won't be for everybody, but I loved the hell out of it. The neverending chop exchanges, the kendo stick shots to each other's face and neck, the comedy, the hockey puck spots, just the unbridled insanity of it all -- I thought everything about it was great. Shibata is the GOAT. I don't like the interference finish, but it's better than Shibata losing to Jericho clean, so I'll take it. Rating: 3.75
Willow, Stat, and Stokely are with Renee. Willow says last week's fiasco with Mercedes left her in a fighting mood. She will mop the floor with Skye and will massacre and maim her. Stokely says he can't even complain about what Skye said about him, because those pricks the EVPs beat up Tony Khan, and they did it before payday. They couldn't wait until Friday? Lol. Stokely is told that he is banned from ringside for Willow's match against Skye. He responds, "Aside from my own actions, what did I do to deserve this?" Lmaooo, classic.
Claudio does a promo about showing up and working every week.
Claudio Castagnoli vs. Brian Cage -- Head scissors takedown by Cage. Backbreaker by Claudio. Claudio with a double stomp to the chest. Cage lands a vertical suplex on Claudio off the second rope, pulling him over the ropes from the apron to the inside. Cage lands a corner uppercut, lariat, and back suplex for two. Cage lands a 619 and a huge discus lariat for two. Claudio lands a springboard, corkscrew uppercut. Boot exchange! Claudio with an uppercut and thrust kick. Claudio lands a 619!! Claudio lands a big lariat for two. Claudio with a pop-up uppercut, then the Swing, and then locks in a Sharpshooter for the submission. Very good match!!! Rating: 3.5
Rocky says Trent and Chuck's dispute is tearing him apart, but he is done with it. He is doing his own thing now and focusing on becoming a champion in AEW. Rocky challenges O'Reilly to a match!
Serena Deeb vs. Mariah May -- Deeb catches Mariah in the paradise lock and dropkicks her. Deeb with a snapmare, a shoulder tackle, and a beautiful leg pick into a surfboard stretch! Mariah lays in some big elbow strikes and lands handstand rana off the ropes in the corner. Strike exchange! Mariah lands a knee and a nice spinning side slam for only one! Mariah lands a lariat and something of a uranage slam for two. Deeb catches Mariah's leg, slaps her in the face, and lands a dragon screw! Deeb with a corner lariat and a neckbreaker over the ropes! Series of counters! Deeb lands a swinging neckbreaker! Deeb ducks a round kick and lands an uppercut. Waist lock by Deeb, but Mariah escapes with back elbows! Deeb bounces Mariah off the ropes into a German suplex! Deeb lands a beautiful, nasty hammerlock lariat for two! Mariah blocks a Figure Four attempt, then lands a round kick to the head, a missile dropkick off the top, and a corner hip attack for two! Mariah lands a vicious running knee for two! Deeb jumps on Mariah's back with a hanging submission hold, spins around to disoreient Mariah, and gets a backslide for two! Nice! Mariah lands a headbutt and a back suplex and goes for a handstand rana in the corner, but Deeb reverses into a single-leg crab and slams Mariah's knee into the mat repeatedly!! Toni throws in the towel, and Deeb wins!
I really liked this match. Just great wrestling by Deeb, with some really great-looking moves and reversals and good submission work. And Mariah holds her own very well here. Rating: 3.5
Renee is with Copeland. O'Reilly shows up. He says he has looked up to Copeland and will have his back against the House of Black.
Justin with a great into for Omega!! And here is Omega!!!! He has a mic. He says he has never been good at this sort of stuff, talking about injuries and weakness. He was diagnosed with diverticulitis. The doctors told him he was 24 hours away from dying. He says he told them, "Cool, can you patch me up and send me back to Dynamite?" They said it's not that simple, that he needed surgery and would have to have a colostomy bag, maybe for the rest of his life. He asked what if he didn't have the surgery, and the doctor said he might wake up in the hospital one day having it done anyway. Any blunt force trauma to the abdomen could kill him. He says he had to stop watching AEW because, for the first time in his career, he was scared. He thought he was going to come here and announce his retirement, but then he watched Dynasty. He saw Ospreay and Danielson put on one of the greatest matches he had ever seen. But his hands were shaking. Was it because he is scared of being a wrestler? No, it was because he was going through withdrawal. He needed to be back in the ring more than he needed to breathe. Being called the best is what fueled him. All these people are now in the conversation for being the best, and he has already been forgotten. So he made a promise to himself and to each and every one of the fans. This isn't over until he exhausts every option. If there is even a 1% chance, bag or no bag, they aren't done with Kenny Omega yet. 🥺 He made a mission statement to change the world. While he is talking about colostomy bags, why not talk about two other shitbags while they are at it? Lmao. He says the Bucks have embarrassed themselves. They are EVPs, and they are free to do what they want, but they forget that there is another EVP. He may be fired from the Elite, but they can't fire him as an EVP. Until someone says otherwise, a part of the power in this company belongs to the Best Bout Machine!!!!!!
Okada comes out!! Holy shit indeed!!!!!!!!!!!!! Omega says they had a bit of a rivalry in New Japan. He tells Okada to give him a couple of months, and they will settle it right here in an AEW ring!!!! Okada says he's sorry, but he is the Best Bout Machine now!!!! Hell yeah, buddy!! Jack attacks Omega from behind!! Omega turns it around and lands a snap dragon on Jack, but he immediately holds his stomach. He sets up for a V-trigger, but Okada trips him, and Jack nails him in the stomach with a chair!!! Damn!!! The Bucks come out and hit him with a BTE trigger!! Okada goes for a Rainmaker, but FTR come out to help Omega, and the Elite run away! Omega gets stetchered out!!!
The Elite attack Omega again backstage as he is about to be put into the ambulance. Matt gets in his face and says he loves him to death, but this is just business, and they have to change the world. They dump Omega off the stretcher onto the concrete!!!!
What a segment!!! Oh man, what a ride. It was so incredible to see Omega back here, even just for a moment. Very genuine, emotional promo from Omega. Man, I hope he can get better and get back. But this was a great use of Omega for now, using his injury to make the new Elite look even more merciless and vicious. Jack attacking Omega's abdomen after Omega had just said that the doctors told him any blunt force trauma could kill him was a great touch. And the continued attack on Omega in the back as he is being put in the ambulance? Matt saying it's just business? Excellent. Not to mention the face-off with Okada. My god, the chills I got when Omega said to give him a few months and they'll settle it in the ring, and when Okada responded that he is the Best Bout Machine now!! Incredible stuff. This story has such great potential if Omega ever gets better.

Rebbie's Wrestling Reviews - Shows Reviews
AEW Revolution 2024
Sunday 3rd March 2024, it's AEW, it's Sting’s final match, this is AEW Revolution 2024! This show was built very well, and absolutely loaded up as a card without breaching Too Many Matches territory. Needless to say I’ve been hyped to watch this one! Sadly, I had a university class test worth 25% of a module on Monday, and I was woefully underprepared, so I couldn't justify staying up until 5am! I was able to catch the first hour before bed, plus the pre-show though! So without further ado, let's get into that pre-show!
Bang Bang Scissor Gang (Anthony Bowens, Max Caster, Billy Gunn, Jay White, Austin Gunn, & Colten Gunn def. Total Nonstop Arseholes (Jeff Jarrett, Jay Lethal, & Satnam Singh w/ Karen Jarrett & Sonjay Dutt), Private Party (Isiah Kassidy & Marq Quen), & Willie Mack in 12:25
The signature Big Multi-Man Tag to Keep a Low Stakes Storyline Bubbling and Get Them on the Card match is on the pre-show on this night! Man, these TV Trope names are getting long… The Bang Bang Scissor Gang are the main focus here, the supergroup of The Acclaimed and Bullet Club Gold. This act is extremely frustrating for me, because their styles are just not blending, they have both been going nowhere, and most importantly: this group formed to take out the Undisputed Kingdom, which it has taken no steps to do! Why?! Anyways, Max Caster is at this point definitely doing a rap-failing gimmick, as he flubs his rap for the third time. I can’t say that's entralling but anyway. Let’s just focus on the match.
This was a fun mess of a match. It's your average big tag match, with a great moment as everyone in Team Jarrett does a Fargo Strut in unison. Love that. Why is Willie Mack on his team though? He’s a lovable guy! Billy Gunn gets a massive pop for his hot tag, and Jay White doesn't get a half bad one too. Our finish comes when there's all sorts of chaos, and out of it White is able to hit the Blade Runner on Willie Mack.
Post-match, White then cuts a promo hyping up the show and suggests he’ll appear at Dynamite: Big Business to get himself back on track. This will go on to be confirmed as Darby Allin vs Jay White, which Darby will hilariously struggle to find about at the post-show presser. Should be good!
2.5 STARS OUT OF 5
We have a couple segments here, first with Orange Cassidy! OC is having to tape his ribs at Doc Samson’s request, and the champ tells the Best Friends to stay in the back, because he’s sick of his friends getting hurt. They oblige, and we have the all-for-one hands in, including Lexy and Samson.
In our other segment: PAC is back! The Bastard cuts a great promo in one of his awesome stylised packages, promising he’s back soon. He even says he nearly “popped his clogs”, i.e DIED. I don't know what's gone on but all the best to Pac following that, and excited to see him
back!
Willow Nightingale & Kris Statlander w/ Stokely Hathaway def. Julia Hart & Skye Blue in 13:30
Time for these teams to finally put their feud to bed, as Willow & Stat take on Julia Hart and her cronie Skye Blue. I love both Willow and Stat, so I’m ready for this one!
This is decent, and it's really great how julia looks so at home now. Her improvement has been something else! There’s some small awkwardness in this one but also fun stuff from great wrestlers. We also have Stokely on commentary, which is a plus for just about anything. This one comes to an end when Williw reverses a Code Blue into a pounce and then hits the Babe With The Powerbomb for the win.
3 STARS OUT OF 5
In between all these segments, I have to say I love RJ City and Renee Paquette, they're so fun. RJ keeps referencing eggs when talking about the scramble match, and Renee accidentally calls Danielson “Daniel Bryan” at one point. Haha, that was his name in the other place! What a goof! I make truly transcendent commentary on these shows. Let's just get to the main show.
Christian Cage (c) w/ Killswitch, Nick Wayne, & Mother Wayne def. Daniel Garcia for the TNT Championship in 16:52
Opening the show is our TNT Title match! Christian Cage has been killing it as the despicable Father Figure of AEW, whilst Garcia has been finally getting the sort of push he deserves, earning this shot after his great run in the Continental Classic. Cage has taken potshots at Garcia’s family, but Danny G has been unflappable in the face of it. I’m hyped for him and I hoped this would be his night! Let's see…
Garcia makes absolutely everything he does look so so so good, from his sells to his strikes to his slams. I am so invested in him right now. He targets the leg very well here, even though Christian gets some damage done. Danny brought the fight to Cage, and Killswitch interference is neutralised by “Daddy Magic” Matt Menard, Garcia’s mentor and friend who The Patriarchy took out. We had annearfall off a piledriver that I thought was it. However, a Nick Wayne stunner while the referee is distracted allows for a Killswitch from Cage and the win. A bit of a weak finish to be honest, but a good match! I honestly expected to see Adam Copeland getting involved to help Daniel
Garcia, potentially for the win which I hoped for. Oh well, great showing for Danny and I can't be unhappy that Christian’s great reign is carrying on!
3.5 STARS OUT OF 5
Eddie Kingston (c) def. Bryan Danielson for the AEW Continental Championship, ROH World Championship, & NJPW STRONG Openweight Champion in 19:45
Next is the big Continental Crown match! Eddie Kingston wants Danielson to finally respect him, and if Eddie wins, Bryan has to shake his hand. Danielson wants that title though, and he wants to prove Eddie isn't good enough. C’mon Eddie!
God, Eddie is so over. The atmosphere is amazing. This match would be awesome to see live. This was a great match that you’d expect from these two. I was getting ready for bed at the time that I first saw this, so maybe not at my most attentive. Hence, I gave it a rewatch and it did not disappoint. Great match. A strike exchange unwisely instigated by Danielson gives way to two powerbomb attempts from Eddie, and he finally lands it after countering a Busaiku Knee with a lariat, stacking the American Dragon for the win!
Post-match, Dragon has to shake the hand of Eddie, but doesn't seem like he will, causing Eddie to back off. Bryan calls him back though, but then snubs him. He was only joking though, and calls Eddie back to shake his hand! He even raises his hand, having to switch to the uninjured left though! Great stuff!
4 STARS OUT OF 5
Wardlow (w/ Matt Taven & Mike Bennett) def. Brian Cage (w/ Prince Nana), Lance Archer (w/ Jake Roberts), Powerhouse Hobbs, Chris Jericho, Dante Martin, Hook, & Magnus in an All-Star Scramble for the No. 1 Contendership for the AEW World Championship in 16:22
We have the remnants of Meat Madness, the All-Star Scramble! Wardlow is on the war path, Archer & Hobbs are bringing some meat, as is Cage! Hook wants that rematch with Samoa Joe, Magnus & Dante Martin won qualifiers earlier in the week, and Jericho is here too.
This one was a bit awkward in places but it had those “meat” chants, which I love, and some fun spots! I saw someone saying the “meat” chant is preventing unironic love of big men clashes, and I couldn't disagree more! I love the “meat” chant and what it signifies completely unironically. Don't get me wrong, I fully see how this is a chant that might get out of control, I fear the meat, but as of right now I love it. It's just an extra wrinkle of fun to help big up those giant clashes. Maybe that's just me though. In the end, a big powerbomb from Wardlow to Dante wins it for the Undisputed Kingdom man.
3 STARS OUT OF 5
Roderick Strong (w/ Matt Taven & Mike Bennett) def. Orange Cassidy (c) for the AEW International Championship in 12:43
International Title on the line here, as the Undisputed Kingdom’s Roderick Strong takes on Orange Cassidy! Roddy has been on a mission to claim this title since the group’s inception, but he faces a challenge in the workhorse champion Orange Cassidy. Cassidy’s second reign has definitely been underwhelming though, as that first reign was so brilliant and his loss was such a great story. Him winning it back obviously came from somewhat of a comedy of injuries, but he really should have moved on. Him beating Moxley was great though. I just would have put the belt on an underutilised great to raise their stock. I don't know. OC is battered though, especially that back! Match time!
I wanna start by stating that the Messiah of the Backbreaker ring style is so so so good. Everything is setting up so nicely, he hits so many great backbreakers, and I always forget how good he is before seeing a big match of his! Just so many cool uses of Strong’s offence, that End of Heartache countered into a Stundog Millionaire was awesome! Really fun match here, with an End of Heartache getting the win for Strong! New champion!
Then post match, coming up from behind, IT’S KYLE O’REILLY! The Violent Artist has been out for nearly two years but he’s back! He looks absolutely crazed behind Strong, but he takes him in for a hug. Strong invites him to the Undisputed Kingdom, but he rejects an invite, placing the t-shirt back on Roddy’s shoulder, before heading back up the ramp. Bit awkward but I think we’re all too happy to see Kyle! He’s welling up and saying thank you to the crowd, and it's all very nice.
3.5 STARS OUT OF 5
Blackpool Combat Club (Jon Moxley & Claudio Castagnoli) def. FTR (Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood) in 21:47
This one oughta be good! FTR and the BCC have been tussling recently after Moxley and Castagnoli staked their claim as a top tag tema in AEW. They fought on Dynamite, but that ended in a time limit draw just as FTR had them beat. Now it’s time we get a final winner.
Coming to the ring, BCC have LOD-style shoulder pads! That’s awesome! This one was an awesome fight. Nice striking, cool tag action, and it gets so so good as it goes on! Claudio's mid-Doomsday Device counter, Dax’s battle scars, the uppercut Doomsday Device, the uppercut from Cash’s dive, Claudio's frantic sleeper to ensure Mox got the win: so many amazing moments and this one was absolutely great stuff!
Post-match, there's clear respect but no shaking of hands. They don't need it, they did it in the ring.
4.5 STARS OUT OF 5
Toni Storm (c) (w/ Mariah May & Luther) def. Deonna Purrazzo for the AEW Women's World Championship in 12:17
Old friends clash as Toni Storm must defend against Deonna Purrazzo, who isn't a fan of the new delusional persona of the Timeless One. It seems Toni Storm is reverting to her classic look though, but after a good few takes, everybody realises it’s really Mariah May! Genuinely uncanny, I really thought it was for her for a minute.
This match was decent enough, I wish it had a little bit more to it though. There was some nice technical work from Deonna, which I’m a big fan of, but I feel like this one just needed some extra meat on the bones. Our finish comes when Toni is tapping to the Venus de Milo but Toni’s beloved butler Luther. distracts the ref, allowing for Mariah to provide a distraction. Henceforth, Toni hits Storm Zero and wins! Smashing! Thinking back though, did she actually even attempt the Break a Leg which I assumed was introduced for this clash? Not sure, maybe worth a rewatch.
3 STARS OUT OF 5
Will Ospreay def. Konosuke Takeshita in 21:57
The Don Callis Family implodes!... but in a friendly way. Ospreay is debuting, Takeshita gets a big PPV match, yippee!
This was a clash definitely reminiscent of Ospreay’s back catalog of indie main events. Both he and Takeshita bring plenty of extra style from both men’s time in Japan too though. But it was definitely more about awesome moves and counters than story and selling in places. It was pretty awesome though! Takeshita is simply amazing in my opinion. Everything he does has such an impact. He did so well, and is offence is so great: the Takeshita Line, the big knee, the sheer brainbuster, it's all so good. The Oscutter counter with the Blue Thunder Bomb was simply amazing too! As was the counter into the Package Tombstone/German combo! I do wish that one in particular wasn't the spot where Ospreay did a fighting spirit Hidden Blade, and I especially wish he didn't immediately have the strength to cover, but Takeshita got to kick out at one so I’m mostly appeased there. Ospreay is obviously getting a lot of plaudits for this one, not undeservedly, but I just think that Takeshita deserves so much more. He’s maybe my favourite in-ring wrestler right now. His style, personality, and skill are just perfect for me. I want this faction to stop being about Don and start being about Takeshita. He’s incredible. Anyway, back to the match. It was definitely great, I think! I do wish Ospreay sold everything as he went a bit more though. Definitely moved a tad fast for my taste, I wish he had just given everything a smidge more breathing room. I know it was the type of match where it's all action, and I loved it for that, but I feel like you can do the same match in the same style just truly ticking over into an all-timer with a little bit more of it, as well as a proper story. There’s a story to the match forming, but it's definitely sparser than expected. This was pretty awesome though. Ospreay is able to hit the hidden blade for the win. I do wish Takeshita got put away with something more but I’m just a big Takeshita fan, and this is just match one for Ospreay in AEW.
Kyle Fletcher vs Will Ospreay is announced for Wednesday Night Dynamite, which will go on to main event the show!
4.5 STARS OUT OF 5
Samoa Joe def. "Hangman" Adam Page & Swerve Strickland (w/ Prince Nana) in a triple threat for the AEW World Championship in 19:41
This is one of my favourite AEW builds in a while! Slightly odd injury angle for Page aside, it's been cool. The hottest feud of 2023 is heading into the AEW World Championship scene! Hangman Adam Page is rightly mad after everything Swerve put him through, and is determined to stop him winning the title. Swerve Strickland is extremely popular despite his unhinged tendencies, and is determined to become champion. Samoa Joe is a big nasty champion and he does not care for their squabbling. When Page doesn't seek to find a winner when they draw in a Number One Contendership match, thinking Swerve will now lose his championship shot, but instead they're both getting one! How does this one play out?
There’s so much story here in an awesome triple threat. Hangman absolutely loses it here, and it’s brilliantly done. Seeing his treatment of the referees and more really cemented this unraveled character. I see a lot of people saying this is a heel turn for Page, and I do agree, but I really hope it remains consistent and he is only a heel because of Swerve. If I see him being a heel without it being because he is obsessed with stopping Swerve, or because he’s losing his mind about Swerve, or he thinks someone is a fan of Swerve, I will be unhappy. Please. I think the whole character remains much more interesting that way, and true to his character and the type of arcs he serves best, y’know? Swerve should be a tweener I think, because the crowd reaction is ramping up, but he will lose so much of his charm if he doesn't remain a cocky, cold worldbeater. I want him feuding with faces once he wins the belt. I want him to remain the Swerve we love, and maybe build to Page finally getting that singles win over Swerve.
Anyway, back to the match. Swerve looked so awesome and did everything so well here, he’s on the top of his game. Joe, as always, is a beast. The Swerve Buckshot Lariat from the corner was an electric moment, super cool and a great story detail. Hangman was also awesome, as per. Swerve is on top, looks to be putting Hangman away, but Joe comes in with the Coquina Clutch on Hangman! It’s not on for too long when Page taps, with Swerve’s dreams crushed. He definitely did this to deny Swerve, which they speculate about on commentary. I would have loved it if they were facing each other for that moment and we saw Hangman choose to do it, but it seems they want some ambiguity.
Swerve looks so heartbroken post-match, as if he knows this man should have more after everything they’ve been through. I would honestly love if this develops into a story about Swerve fighting Hangman into refinding his way, perhaps with a title change or two! It looks like we’re getting Swerve vs. Joe at Dynasty, the new PPV announced on this night, and I do hope this is where Swerve wins the big one. I did kind of want a title change here, but Joe has been so awesome I’m totally happy he gets a longer reign. I was not convinced at first but he's been a great champion and has definitely shown in the last year or so that he can still go at a high level, which I think some of us might have questioned. Great match though!
4 STARS OUT OF 5
Sting & Darby Allin (w/ Steven Borden Jr. & Garrett Borden) def. The Young Bucks (Matthew & Nicholas Jackson)
In 1985, the man called Sting wrestler his first match, and in 2024, aged 64, he wrestled his last. Sting and his biggest ally in recent years, Darby Allin, became the Tag Team Champions in the build to this one, making this final match a title match against The Young Bucks. The Bucks are now touting their EVP positions, playing corporate nightmares who took issue with Sting, leading to a brutal beatdown. They want to retire Sting here with a blemish on his perfect record.
This is an awesome hardcore spotfest with real heart given the occasion. Sting’s sons get involved early on after an emotionally charged promo video, and an emotionally charged entrance to Seek and Destroy with the Borden Boys dressed as the surfer and Wolfpac variants of Sting. Them hitting Stinger Splashes was a great moment. Glass is also brought in early on! Go cry me a river! It’s set up very nicely for Darby to do the scariest dumbest spot ever! I loved it! He flips off a ladder in the ring, through this glass pane set up on chairs on the outside, after one of the EVPs moves. The look of his back is something else. Shortly after, Sting goes through a pane of glass! He is 64! Darby is a terrible influence on him! This was also awesome though. Another fun spot is when duel superkicks are preceded by an emotional sentiment of “we’re not sorry, we hate you” from the EVPs. Sting doesn't take that though, even if he is two-on-one. This was just a great time from start to finish! Sting and Darby retain when they dump Nicholas through a table, Scorpion Death Drop on Matthew, kick out, but a Coffin Drop into a Scorpion Deathlock combo wins it! Fuck you, this was the right decision. It was much more fun to just have him win and silence the heels, just like he always has. A Tag Team Title tournament could really help refresh that division too!
Sting thanks the fans, and Darby, and it's all very emotional on the mic post-show. He's getting “you still got it” chants and Darby is whispering time cues. Sting says “Hold on, I’m getting cues” and the ppv ends… uhhhh
Sting goes on to say his goodbyes to the live crowd, as Darby takes his leave to go to the hospital. There’s people crying in the audience, but Sting is keeping it pretty jovial. Tony Khan says a few words and the roster gathers at the top of the ramp to see off The Icon. Dax Harwood appears to be bawling his eyes out. Sting heads up the ramp and thus ends a legendary career.
I have no idea how to rate this one to be honest. It's a very subjective match to be honest, at least for how brilliant it is for you. I don't think you can deny it was a touching send-off for Sting, it was a good time. Some say it's instantly five stars, and I could definitely see it. Sting was always someone I never really grew up with: WCW ended before I was born, he was an elder statesman of TNA when I got into that, and I wasn't watching WWE very faithfully when he had his short run. For this reason, maybe this match doesn't hit me perfectly like it does everyone well but I can't help but love it for everything it was. My favourite Sting may be Joker Sting, but I appreciate the brilliance of The Stinger.
4 STARS OUT OF 5
Final Thoughts
Overall, this was an awesome show. Not a bad match on it for my money, and up and down the card it was different but brilliant matches. AEW are known for great PPVs, but this is definitely one of their best in recent memory! I think summing all up, this one has to be 4.5 stars out of 5.

Yankees Win Series Against the Blue Jays, Spoil Their Playoff Hopes
NYY @ TOR
Game 1
RHP Michael King, who has been strong as a replacement starter, got the ball for the New York Yankees versus RHP Kevin Gausman (a former Baltimore Orioles pitcher and Yankees nemesis) and the Toronto Blue Jays.
The offense for both teams was abysmal and nonexistent for the first eight innings. This was in part due to the dominant pitching of the Yankees and Blue Jays.
King did get himself in trouble while pitching in the bottom of the third inning. After he got LF Daulton Varsho to pop out for the first out, King gave up a single to C Alejandro Kirk.
Next, once CF Kevin Kiermaier grounded into a force-out for the second out, King walked RF George Springer and SS Bo Bichette to load the bases.
The scoring threat ended when King was able to strike out 1B Vladimir Guerrero, Jr. looking for the third out. That was certainly a trick out of Houdini’s playbook for King.
The Yankees threatened to score in the top of the seventh inning when DH Giancarlo Stanton hit a 2B off Gausman with one out.
The brain puzzler in this situation was this: with a guy in scoring position who no longer has speed, why wasn’t a pinch-runner used for Stanton?
Maybe the reason was that Yankees manager Aaron Boone didn’t want to use RF and part-time DH Aaron Judge to bat in Stanton’s place in the lineup because he wanted to rest Judge and completely give him an off-day from this game.
There might have been other options other than Judge as a pinch-hitter in Stanton’s spot, who knows? Either way, it would’ve been better to use someone like utility outfield Jake Bauers to pinch-run for Stanton at that moment.
youtube
Anyone other than Stanton should’ve been placed at second base because in the next at-bat, 3B Isiah Kiner-Falefa hit a 1B off Gausman, but Stanton couldn’t score on it.
With Stanton at third base and IKF at first base, RF Oswaldo Cabrera was at the plate. Before Cabrera made contact with the ball, IFK stole second base off Gausman, his 14th stolen base this season.
With two baserunners now in scoring position, Cabrera hit a ball that seemed like an RBI single. Unfortunately, Stanton was thrown out at home and Cabrera reached first base on a fielder’s choice.
With two outs already made in this inning, Oswald Peraza flew out to Springer in right field for the third out and Gausman worked out of trouble.
It all came down to the top of the ninth inning with reliever Jordan Romano pitching for the Jays. 2B Gleyber Torres hit a leadoff 1B of Romano to get things started for the Yankees.
In the next at-bat, C Austin Wells hit a two-run HR – his third in his MLB career – off Romano, giving the Yankees a 2-0 lead and final score of the game.
Game 2
RHP and Cy Young candidate Gerrit Cole pitched for the Yankees against RHP José Berríos and the Jays.
The scoring began in the top of the fourth inning when Judge as the RF hit a two-run HR off Berríos, scoring 1B DJ LeMahieu and Judge himself. The Yankees led 2-0.
In the top of the fifth inning, Stanton hit a two-run RBI 1B off Berríos, scoring C Ben Rortvedt and Judge. The Yankees extended their lead to 4-0. Torres was thrown out at home for the third out of the inning.
youtube
In the top of the seventh inning, Judge hit another two-run HR in this game, but it was off reliever Trevor Richards this time. Peraza and Judge scored, further extending the Yankees lead to 6-0.
This score would hold up, giving the Yankees the win in this game and the series win in general. Cole pitched a complete shutout game against the Jays with his family in attendance.
Game 3
RHP Luke Weaver was looking to be dominant like he was in his last start with the Yankees. Weaver went up against RHP Chris Bassitt for the Jays.
Unfortunately for Weaver and the Yankees, all of the scoring was done by the Jays and it began in the bottom of the third inning. Varsho hit a solo HR off Weaver, giving the Jays a 1-0 lead.
In the bottom of the fourth inning, 3B Matt Chapman hit a solo HR off Weaver, extending the Jays lead to 2-0.
In the bottom of the fifth inning, 2B Cavan Biggio hit an RBI single off reliever Greg Weissert, scoring Bichette. This insurance run gave the Jays a 3-0 lead.
In the bottom of the sixth inning, DH Brandon Belt hit a three-run HR off reliever Zach McAllister, scoring Varsho and Springer along with Belt. The Jays now led 6-0 and won by this score.
The Yankees offense was shut down by Bassitt and the Jays bullpen.

“well it complicates things because what we have going here is a good thing. you add feelings and relationships into things it ruins them.” she confessed, “i think you are just confusing enjoying sex with something else. i promise if you go off and sleep with someone else that feeling will just zip on out of your mind.” she poured herself another glass of wine. lord knew she needed it.
" how does that complicate things? i like you ... and i think you like me, right ? " nothing was ever that simple, but isaiah lived in his own little world sometimes.

The Mega-Bastards (c) vs PME vs The Dollhouse vs Private Party- MPW World Tag Team Championships
Syn & MJF, your MPW World Tag Team Champions, are the last team out from behind the curtain tonight for our main event, a four way tag team dance for the MPW World Championship, and judging by the talent we have in this one, this was about to be one of the more fast-paced main events in recent memory here in MPW. We have the always exciting Philly-Marino Experience, the psychopathic Atticus Cogar & Bambi of The Dollhouse, and the AEW World Tag Team Champions, one of the most exciting high flying teams in all of professional wrestling!
And it seems Private Party don’t want to wait any longer to get the high flying action going here tonight, as Isiah Kassidy and Marq Quen immediately take to the skies, and launch themselves over the top rope, taking out Syn and MJF on their way down to the ring! With no other choice, referee Jake Clemons calls for the bell, we’re underway! Atticus and Bambi charge across the ring, going right after Philly and Marino, Atticus going right after Philly, and Bambi trapping Marino against the ropes and strangling him! Bambi, that little psychopath, going right for the throat! Marino tries to get her off, as Philly and Atticus continue to swing on one another, Philly, being the stronger of the two men, manages to send Atticus into the ropes, before Philly drops Atticus with a big shoulder tackle!
Bambi hopped off the apron to check on him, trying to calm Atticus down and check on him. UnfortuZayly for them, they didn’t notice that Philly had tagged in Marino, and as Atticus and Bambi turned around, they saw Philly boost Marino into the air and over the top rope, as Marino came crashing down on Atticus and Bambi! Marino got up and slapped a few hands, as the crowd was worked into a frenzie, practically everybody chanting “PME! PME! PME!” As The Philly Marino Experience was in full control of the match here early! Marino tossed Atticus back into the ring and slid in himself, before running over to Philly, who caught Marino in a wheelbarrow, before throwing Marino off of him and down onto Atticus, PME connecting with their signature Wheelbarrow Senton double team! Marino covers!
1….2… kickout!
Atticus manages to kick out, keeping this match alive for the time being. Marino got up and began clapping his hands, getting the crowd into the match, before lifting Atticus up and sending him off the ropes again, before connecting with a leaping calf kick to knock him right back down. Marnio nipped up to his feet and did a little dancing for the crowd, before he pointed to the top rope, beginning to climb. Marino got the top and was looking for a double stomp, but as he leaped off, Atticus rolled out of the way, and Marino managed to roll through. Atticus pulled himself up in the corner, and as Marino charged him, Atticus was ready for it, and sent Marino up and over the top rope. Marnio caught himself on the apron, and tried to catch Atticus with a right hand, but Atticus blocked it and blasted Marino with a stiff forearm, rocking him. Atticus then grabbed Marino and pulled him through the middle ropes, before dropping him on the back of his head with a rope hung Neckbreaker! Atticus pulled Marino away from the ropes, and went for the cover!
1….2…. kickout!
Marino kicks out, and Atticus sits up, just to get caught by a kick from Isiah Kassidy, knocking him back down. Zay grabs Atticus and doesn't give him any room to breathe, mounting Atticus and hammering away at him with a couple of stiff forearms, before Kassidy rolls off of Cogar, and out of the ring. Kassidy tosses a couple of chairs, a steel trashcan, and a door into the ring, before rolling back into the ring himself and grabbing the chair, before raising it above his head, and cracking the chair across Atticus’ back! Atticus cried out in agony, as Kassidy dropped the chair across Atticus’ back, hit the ropes, before crashing down on Atticus and the chair with a Whirlygig!Kassidy clutched his back, perhaps just as hurt from delivering that move as Atticus was from taking it, but he quickly got back to his feet, and grabbed another chair, before setting it up in the middle of the ring, along with a couple of the other chairs, four in total. Kassidy then moved the door into the middle, creating a makeshift table with it all, before grabbing Cogar, and dragging him into the corner, and lifting him up onto the top rope. Kassidy gave him a couple of stiff forearms, before he began to climb up to the top himself, hooking Atticus and lifting him up, before driving Atticus and himself through the barbed wire board with a Superplex! Wood splinters and barbed wire stuck to men’s flesh, as Zay Kassidy rolled over and made the cover on Cogar!
1….2…. Kickout!
Cogar out at two! Zay sits up, just to get blasted right in the back with a chair shot from Syn, the champs getting back involved in this match. Syn throws the chair aside, as Max joins him in the ring, before Syn lists Zay up, placing Zay’s feet on Max’s shoulders, before Max boosts him up into the air, as Syn drives Zay down with an assisted suplex! MJF rolls out of the ring, bringing Zay with him, as Syn catches a charging in Marq Quen with a big forearm shot. Quen stumbles back into the ropes, as Syn charges him and knocks him over the top rope with a big clothesline, before Syn follows him out there. The Poisoned Prince picks back up one half of the AEW World Tag Team Champions, and traps him against the guardrail, before blasting Marq Quen with a sickening chop to the chest! Quen hunches over, clutching at his chest, as Syn takes a moment to mock the crowd, and Private Party.
“Oh my god, is that Private Party?!”
Syn follows the taunting reference to their entrance music with another chop to the chest, before turning around and throwing Quen back into the steel guardrail, the impact pushing the guardrail back into the seats of our fans here. Syn makes a gesture like he’s wiping his hands, as Syn catches Philly Collins with a boot, stomping Philly while he was down against the guardrail as well.
Syn yelled for Max to toss some chairs into the ring, and while he sent his tag partner to do that, Syn grabbed one of the doors that had been laid out at ringside, going to move it towards the ring, but when Syn turned around, breaking the door right in half! Both men were laid out on the outside, laying in a pile of broken door pieces. Cogar was the first to struggle to his feet, giving Syn a few stomps to body, before walking over to the shopping cart with weapons, and pulling out a plastic bat, covered in thumb tacks, and talked back over to Syn, grabbing Syn by the hair and pressing the tack bat into his forehead, raking it across his flesh, before letting Syn go and smacking him in the head with it. Cogar swung the bat again, bringing it down across Syn’s back! Syn cried out in agony, and tried to kick at Cogar to stop the assault, but it did little to deter Atticus. Cogar swung the bat again, bringing it down on the bare flesh of his opponent, before tossing the bat aside and looking for something else to attack his opponent with. Cogar pulled a chair out from under the ring, and brought it down across Syn’s back, before tossing that into the ring, grabbing a barbed wire board and tossing that into the ring as well. Cogar continued to load the ring with weapons, grabbing two bundles of light tubes and tossing them into the ring, along with another pane of glass. Cogar walked over to Syn and tried to lift him up and drag him into the ring, but Syn caught Cogar with a knife edge chop to the chest! Cogar staggered backwards, holding his chest. Syn nailed him with another, backing Cogar against the steel guardrail, nailing him with a couple of big chops, before grabbing Cogar, lifting him up, and dropping him across the rail with a stun gun! Cogar went face first into the metal of the guardrail!
Syn grabbed Cogar by the hair and tossed him into the ring, sliding in himself, and grabbing one of the light tube bundles, placing it between the second and third turnbuckles, before turning his attention back to Cogar. Cogar caught Syn with a few shots to the midsection, trying to back Syn off of him, but a knee light to Cogar’s sternum shut the fight right down. Syn clobbered Cogar across the back, before running off the ropes, trying to come back at Cogar with a bicycle knee, but Cogar dodged out of the way, grabbing a chair, and whipping it right at Syn! Syn staggered backwards, and Cogar grabbed one of the tube bundles, tossing it to Syn. Syn caught it, and Cogar charged him, nailing Syn and the tube bundle with a shotgun dropkick, knocking Syn back into the tube bundle he’d set up in the turnbuckles as well! Syn was surrounded in a cloud of broken glass and dust, as blood was pouring down both his front and his back at this point! Syn rolled out of the corner, and Cogar leaped over the top rope, landing on the apron, and climbing up to the top rope, setting his feet before leaping off, crashing down on Syn with a moonsault! Cogar hooked the leg, looking to finish this one!
1...2… Kickout!
The Dollhouse was just seconds away there from capturing the MPW World Tag Team titles, but it was gonna take more than that to get it done here tonight. Syn rolls to the corner, as Bambi helps Atticus back to his feet, and tells him to go take care of someone else, she’s got the Poisoned Prince. Atticus slides out of the ring and nails MJF in the back, who had been choking Zay Kassidy with his foot on the outside, and as those two start to scrap, Bambi makes a show of pulling up the back of her skirt to Syn to reveal…
Is Bambi weared barbed wire shorts?!
We knew this woman was missing a couple of screws, but jesus christ. Bambi tries to give Syn a closer look at them, but as Bambi goes to give Syn a face full of both barbed wire and her derriere, she didn’t realize Syn was concealing a weapon of his own, and before Bambi can take a seat, Syn puts a staple gun to Bambi’s backside and clicks the trigger!
A shrill shriek exits the lips of Bambi as she falls over clutching her butt, and unfortunately for her, Syn’s not done yet with the staple gun. Syn grabs one of the “New Fallen” recruitment pamphlets out of his back pocket, and presses it to Bambi’s forehead, before he staples it there! Yikes!
Syn, apparently having enough of being just the most depraved human imaginable, throws the staple gun away, but isn’t get done with Bambi, hoisting her only his shoulders, and driving her through a door in the corner of the ring with a Death Valley Driver! Bambi driven through the door, Syn into the cover!
1….2.. Broken up!
Marino Tenagila comes off the top rope with a double stomp, catching Syn on the back, and breaking the pin! Syn gets up, clutching his back, and tries to take a swing at Marino, but Marino ducks it, and nails Syn with a Cyclone Kick, knocking him out of the ring! Zay Kassidy tries to surprise Marino from behind, but Marino ducks and drops him with a dropkick! PME in Full Control here!
Marino with the tag to Philly as Zay rolls to the corner, Philly joins Marino in the ring, as Marino grabs Philly and whips him into Zay, Philly crashing into Zay with a big body splash! Philly then turns, and as Marino charges in, Philly sends Marino up and over, launching him into a flying forearm on Zay! Philly and Marino take a second to celebrate, but it proves costly, as Zay is able to stumble his way across the ring and tag Marq.
Marq gets into the ring and catches Philly with a right hand, before he turns to hit the ropes, ducking a clothesline from Philly, and trying to catch Philly with one of his own, but Philly ducks that one, and grabs Marq, trying to shoot him off the ropes, but Marq Quen turns it around on him and sends Philly off the ropes instead. Philly manages to stop short, though, and turns, catching Marq with a right hand, which Marq answers in earnest, as Philly & Marq now trade right hands back and forth, we’ve broken down into a slugfest! Philly manages to catch Marq with a couple rights in a row, before sending Marq off the ropes, and launching Marq up in the air, and sending him crashing down to the mat with a BIG back body drop!
Marq rolls out of the ring, as Zay drops down to check on him, and Marino gets into the ring, and stands between the second and top rope, pulling them apart, and allowing Philly to hit the ropes, before launching himself between the stretched out ropes, and crashing down on Marq and Zay with a BIG suicide dive!
Philly rolls back into the ring, and drops down onto all fours, and as Marq and Zay get up to their feet, Marino hits the ropes, and launches himself off Philly’s back and over the top rope with a huge dive! Philly and Marino in full control of this match here!
Marino throws Marq back into the ring, and follows him back inside, before catching Marq with a couple of straight right hands, before grabbing Marq and throwing him into the corner, driving his head into the turnbuckle. Philly pulls Marq out of the corner as Marino hits the ropes, Philly catching Marq with an atomic drop and holding him there, as Marino launches himself into a flying heel kick, taking Marq’s head off! Great teamwork from PME there!
Private Party and a recovering Dollhouse both on the outside here, as Marino starts to head up to the top rope, only for Syn to charge in from behind, and shove Philly into Marino! Philly falls out onto the apron, as Syn chops Marnio in the chest, climbing up to the top rope, collecting Marnio into a fireman’s carry as he does. Syn, eyeing the Dollhouse and Private Party on the outside, gets an idea, and with Marnio on his shoulders, starts a rope walk over to where they are, before launching Marnio off his shoulders with a Death Valley Driver, taking out The Dollhouse & Private Party!
All is not well with Syn though, as the Death Valley causes him to lose his footing, and in the slip, Syn’s ankle gets tied up in the ropes! Syn takes a disgusting fall, and his ankle bends in a way it’s not supposed to! Syn rolls off to the side, clutching at his leg, as referee Jake Clemons dives out of the ring to check on him, before signaling over to the time keepers area, throwing up the X.
Clemons needs to get his attention back on the action though, as Philly Collins tries to climb back into the ring, only for MJF to catch him on his way through the ropes, planting Philly with the Heatseeker! MJF into the cover, and Clemons back in the ring to count the pin!
1….2….3!
“Here are your winners, and STILL MPW World Tag Team Champions, The Mega-Bastards!”
An abrupt end to a chaotic tag team title main event here, as Syn and MJF are still your MPW World Tag Team Champions! MJF grabs the belts and tries to celebrate with Syn on the outside, but it’s very clear as Syn is helped up to his feet that he can’t put any weight on that ankle, and has to use the guardrail, MJF, and referee Jake Clemons just to stand upright.
We hope to have a medical update soon. What will happen next week against Death Row if Syn is unable to wrestle?
We’ll see you at MPW’s annual Holiday show next week, goodnight folks!
