Prologue

Damon opened the chest before him. Bonnie had been able to destroy the invisible magical bonds that were tying it together, but it'd taken all her power and right now Elena was taking her upstairs to get some sleep.

"Just open it up already." Stefan or at least the Ripper said.

Damon rolled his eyes and slowly lifted off the top of the chest. Stefan stepped forward to see what was in there and for a moment he was mesmerized. In the chest law a woman who looked like she was sleeping. Her Y/h/c hair law outspread by her head and her clothes looked like they were from the 1800. Suddenly her eyes opened and a gasp for air sounded through the abandoned house.

You were awake. For the first time in so long you were awake. You could feel your heart beating eyes slowly opening and you could breath. Looking up, you saw two men, correction two vampires, presumably brother based on their looks. Suddenly you felt a hunger snap in your chest.

"Blood-I need blood..." You scream whispered. The taller of the men, threw you a blood bag, and as you slowly sat up to drink it you felt their eyes on you.

"Who are you?" The one with dark brown hair asked. Looking at you curiously.

"I'm Y/N Mikaelson, where the fuck did you guys find me?" You questioned them.

"Mikaelson? Are you Klaus and Rebekah's sister?" The taller one demanded you.

"Sister? God no, I'm Klaus's wife. You know where he is?" You asked them.

"We can't take you to him right now, we need more information, and we're not scared to force answers out of you." The brown hair threatened you. As you let out a low laughter and stood up, telling them.

"I am Y/N Mikaelson, first of my name. The only witch, vampire hybrid there is. I'm thousands of years old. How the fuck do you intend to 'force answers' out of me? You mimicked the brown haired voice by the threatening part.

"Look I'm sorry for my brother. I'm Damon this is Stefan. We just really need your help. The Mikaelsons are hosting a ball tonight. And our... Friend is going, no matter what we say. She wants to get more information about them, please just go and keep them distracted so that nothing happens to her and we'll leave you alone." The taller one, no Damon begged.

"Sure." You sighted.

You were getting ready at the Salvatores hiding so that their 'Friend' wouldn't know about the plan. You'd chosen a long red beautiful dress with a slit that went far up your leg. As you put on your sleeves you heard a knock on your door and Damon stepped Inside.

"Well you look good, almost as good as me." He cockily told you as you rolled your eyes.

"You ready to go?" He asked. You nodded as an answer, applying the last of your makeup. He led you up to a fancy carriage and helped you up. The ride to the mansion was tense. Damon had filled you up on everything that had happened to them in the last year and no you weren't ashamed of your husband. He did what he did.

"Well look at that were fashionably late. Why don't I go inside and you'll come in in 5 minutes?" Damon wondered.

"Yeah sure." You answered him.

After waiting for a couple minutes you stepped out of the carriage and walked towards the mansion, your body stiff with nervousness. As the doors opened you felt everyone's eyes on you. You knew this was a vampire ball and most old and intelligent vampires knew who you were. A myth, a legend.

Everything seemed to stop when you locked eyes with Klaus who had seemed to be making a toast. A loud crash sounded through the ballroom when he dropped the glass in his hand and ran to you. Wrapping his arm about you, your lips met. It was a soft kiss, but with something in the background, a promise for more. When the two of you pulled apart, you saw Rebekah, your best friend walk towards you. You quickly pulled her in, even though Klaus wouldn't let go of your hand.

When the ball was finally over Klaus dragged you with him to his painting studio. Everywhere there were paintings of you and you felt your eyes tear up.

"Hey, don't cry love." He told you, wiping the tears of your face.

"We have so much to talk about." You sobbed.

"I think that can wait, love" he said pushing you against the wall and pressing his lips against yours.

OH BOY DO I. In no particular order (except of when I thought of them):

1: Non-Entity by Captain Wuzz: An AU in which, instead of being turned to stone, Discord was shot in the head with a magic arrow that takes away his sentience and magic for a 1,000 years. Fluttershy mistakes him for a wounded animal and brings him home. I loved it so much.

2: Chaotic Neutral by C-Puff: The magic is starting to fade from Equestria, and the Main 6 and Discord go on an adventure to find out why, and reverse it. A bit of AU, in the sense it was written before the show was done, so it diverts in some places because of that. Super sweet, and I love the character development here.

3: Time is Taller than Space is Wide by Dott. Can also be read on Ao3 if you prefer. Soulmate AU (?) fic with a Groundhog Day style twist. I rarely see fics play with the idea of what if Fluttershy and Discord's friendship had started when they first met, so this is fun.

4 & 5: Blank and it's sequel Reconnection by @geekcat. Can also be read on fanfic.net. AU in which, before Discord can choose friendship over ruling Equestria, Twilight remembers a "reformation" spell. He is stripped of his free will, and Fluttershy does her best to bring him back. If you don't like the idea of Twilight being a villain, you might not like this one, but I think her villain arc in this is done in a perfect way for her character. It's super heart wrenching in many places, but in a good way.

6: Our Fair Lady of the Chaos Lord, also by GeekCat Can also be read on fanfic.net. Fairy tale inspired AU in which Fluttershy is a princess who's father is pressuring her to marry noble knight Sir Big Mac. Wanting to be sure he's a good person, she makes a deal with the Chaos Lord, letting herself be "kidnapped" so she can test his character. You can guess who she falls for instead. Honestly I've enjoyed all of GeekCat's fics, so they're getting an extra mention. Check out the rest of their fluttercord fics if you like any of these.

7: The Draconequus with the Dragon Tattoo by A M Shark This is a major case of, strange premise, kick ass results. Basically an AU based off Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Steig Larsson, with Discord as Lisbeth, and Fluttershy as an amalgamation of Mikael and several other characters, but focusing more on the murder mystery aspect of that book, and less on the...everything else. If you're familiar with GwtDT, don't worry, there's no rape scenes. Again, it's more about the murder mystery part. If you're not familiar with GwtDT, then don't worry again, because you don't need to know the original to enjoy it. It's just Discord and Fluttershy playing detective and solving a murder together. It has two sequels, but I haven't read them yet, and it didn't feel right to rec something I haven't read.

8: The Corpse Bride by Bad Horse. Dark fic. No relation to the Burton movie. Fluttershy dies in a tragic accident, and Discord brings her back from the dead as his zombie wife. Her friends (sans Pinkie) are horrified. Has a fantastic twist ending. If you like some of the darker stuff, def worth a read.

Bonus: Comic rec: The Last Adventure by Eveeka. Taking place after the final defeat of Tirek, Cozy, and Chrysalis, Discord gets into a depressive funk after shouldering the hatred from Ponyville citizens for his latest actions, but also because his friends seem to never be available anymore. He starts to think maybe Equestria would be better off without him, as he can't seem to exist with out making everyone miserable, and decides to hide away in the Everfree forest. Fluttershy, worried when he doesn't show up for tea, asks her friends for help, only to discover there's a monster running lose there he and the rest of Equestria might be in danger from. This fic has two endings, so keep reading even when it seems like it's over. You've got one more ending left. This one nearly made me cry.

it wasn't ideal by any means. mikael had been working hard to plan a wonderful event for his wife, a beautiful party up to her standards. but when he walked in on her with another...her tearfully expressing how sorry she was but she just wasn't in love with him anymore...well it absolutely shattered mikael. and now here he was with aria, having to cancel the party and admit the truth. "i just never expected it from her." and he meant it, he thought they were in love, that life was good. and then...it wasn't.

he looks up, eyes meeting aria's as she smiles softly at him, her arms still lingering from the comfort of the hug. his heart his heavy and she's so kind and he feels vulnerable. and the next thing that happens is her lips on his. they're soft, warm, comforting much like her hug. and mikael lets himself go in it for a minute, the pain disappearing for a fraction of a second before it's back and he's pulling away. "oh..."

open: any (no preference) connection/plot: aria was planning a anniversary event for your muse but they were cheated on by their partner - while comforting them, aria and your muse kiss (maybe they freak out? maybe more happens?)

Aria didn't always become friends with her clients, but this instance had been one of those where she had hit it off with them from the start. It made the the news that the anniversary party she had been putting together for them needed to be canceled all that much harder. "Please don't worry about the money. I have insurance for these types of things," Aria reached out and pulled them in to her, holding them close in a hug. "That asshole cheated on you. That's more my concern." She couldn't have them worried about her when they were going through such a devastating time. "Anything I can do for you," she offered softly but as their eyes met it became apparent how close their faces were and without much more thought, Aria leaned in and suddenly they were kissing.

Some Magnus Archive Characters I Wish Met Because There Are So Many Good Dynamics To Think About

A: Emma Harvey and Martin Blackwood. Two people who are extremely manipulative, yet one manipulates to hurt the people they "care" about while the other manipulates to help the people they care about.

B: That one statement giver that just walked out of The Spiral and that one statement giver who survived the coffin by freezing it's key in a block of ice. Honestly, I just want to hear them compare notes on their Supernatural experience.

C: Mikaele Salesa and Tim Stoker. There's actually a lot of things about this dynamic that I think could be interesting but my main thought was "Guy who dedicated his entire life to the fears interacts with guy who wants nothing more to get away from them." Also, Mikaele does have that camera....

D: Agnes Montague and Simon Fairchild. Or otherwise known as: Women who is deeply weighed down by their destiny VS guy who thinks his destiny is a playground.

E: Annabelle Cane and Distortion Michael. Annabelle has a plan for every possibility. Michael exists outside what is possible.

F: One of the vampires mentioned in the series and Gerard Keay. I just think it would be really funny if Gerard thought he had met a fellow goth while the vampire thought it met another one of it's kind. I would not want this interaction to be serious.

G: Jonathan Sims and Adelard Dekker. They're both paranoid, but how efficient they are despite that varies widely. Also, I would love to see Adelard learn that Jon destroyed the table he carefully bounded the creature to lmao.

H: Rosie Zampano and Not! Sasha. Rosie is mentioned to be nosey, I wonder if any of her observations ever made her think that something about Sasha just seemed...off.

I: Jared Hopworth and Jude Perry. Mostly because I can't decide if they'd end up killing each other or end up being really aggressive besties and/or frenemies.

J: Oliver Banks and Michael Crew. Two guys who stumbled into their fates before embracing it fully through morally questionable means.

NHL Captains & Alternates Primer/Refresher

All teams per the NHL Rule book (Rule 6, pg 7-8) must list either One (1) Captain and Two (2) Alternate Captains or Three (3) Alternate Captains during the game line-up submissions*. There may only be Three (3) Alternates if the Captain is not in uniform or if there is no designated Captain. No Coach, Manager or Goaltenders are allowed to act as a Captain or Alternate; Goaltenders are not allowed to act as captains due to (un)intentional delay of game as per the "Durnan Rule". They must wear either a "C" or "A" about three inches (3") high and of a contrasting color in a visible spot on the front of their jerseys. Only the Captain [ or any one (1) Alternate, if the Captain is not on the ice] is allowed, if invited by a referee, to discuss interpretations of the rules**. "no. there are a million things waiting on my desk. you're just a very compelling reason not to care." he climbed onto the bed, leaning down to kiss her as he guided her back onto the mattress.

Cringetober Day 13: Genderbend

Now presenting (left to right) Zackary Trent, Mika (pronounced Me-ka, short for Mikael) Mark, Nila Nevla, Vannie (short for Vanessa) Terrio, Rosaline Ferguson, Pepito Clark, and Benny (short for Benjamin) Ling.

These are the dumbest names I could have come up with, but they're the closest I could get to their originals. Also I got these from behind the name dot com and I've had issues with that website in the past so take their existence with a grain of salt.

My thoughts on genderbends below, if you care about that.

I know genderbending can be a little controversial sometimes, but personally, I think it's fine as long as you aren't too much of a gender essentialist about it. Like you gotta think about how a character would want to look if they were [insert gender here]. For example, I have some ocs who are both mostly masculine presenting boys in the original version. When genderbent, one of them goes super girly and the other stays pretty much the same. In the original story, the one who presents more femininely in the genderbend likes dresses and cute things in the original, but doesn't really wear them because of fear of social ostracization. Later in his life, he does present how he wants to. In a universe that he was a girl, she would definitely wear as much pretty dresses and skirts as she could get her hands on. The other character doesn't change how they look because they don't wear their clothes b/c they masc or fem, but because they just wear clothes they find comfy to sleep in, which for them is a baggy hoodie and basketball shorts. This also applies to hair and other things like that.
