“Glad to see you’re alive and well.” Though his tone was flippant, it lacked the same frivolousness that Spencer so often used around her. There was some gravity to his statements given that he was in fact grateful that she was alright. There were few he actually bothered for around town, but he could safely say that Sullivan likely fell into the category that he could say he bothered at least a little for. He had seen her that day, inside with him but in trying to get the rest of the crowds out, he ended up losing track and assumed that she had found her own way out.

“I’m surprised to see you in something other than your biking attire. I always assumed you had been born with those clothes.” It was his way of telling her that she looked nice without saying it in so many words. Because the nature of their relationship was as such. Of course it wouldn’t be him if he didn’t flatter, though perhaps his condescending tone would take away from the truth of the words. “You aren’t planning on causing any trouble tonight are you?” A question that people really should have been asking him since it appeared he would be the one causing the problems that night.

Dear Kevin,

I know this year has been a lot of ups and downs for you. For both of us, really. And I know that sometimes things can seem bleak, but they get better. And I'm not saying this to be one of those glorified "it gets better" kinds of people, but I've been on the other side of it, and I know it's tough. But as long as you have your dreams and your goals, as long as you have some of that positivity, you'll be alright.

And you're a bright guy. One of the brightest I've ever known, and I see it every time you play football while I'm cheering from the sidelines. And so, that's what inspired me to get you this. It isn't much, but I hope you appreciate it all the same.

The Bro to my Mance. You're an awesome dude, really. But what I like most of all, is that I give you another reason to appreciate me each time we talk. I'm not sure I have that effect on the others, maybe, maybe not but you never fail to mention it.
