One third between the chin and the bellybutton… Or is it half? She holds up the pencil to measure the proportions. Again.

This is so useless she thinks and drops her hand down. It was a disastrous idea to join this art group for bored housewives, she knew it from the start. Well, she is a bored housewife, but she clearly has no talent for art. And it costs more than she can afford anyway.

Drawing nudes is the hardest, they say, so at least she should have started with cabbages and vases. But where is the fun in that? And if she were drawing still life she would not have the chance to marvel at this perfect body in front of her.

A beautiful, clever face with barely visible lines in the corner of the mouth; eyes showing wisdom and experience. This goes with a somewhat robust figure: pale skin, soft lines and big, heavy breasts - one of the hard nipples pointing right at her. It’s just the cold air, she has to remind herself. But what if it’s not? She gets excited when their eyes meet for a brief moment.

But why did it take this long to realize how much she’s attracted to this marvellous woman? They were living under the same roof for months, yet she had to come to this stupid art class to acknowledge her own affection. This relationship would have been doomed to failure anyway she tells herself. As always.

She should concentrate on her drawing, but she can’t take off her eyes of the model. Her gaze follows the curves of the hips, the strong thighs and lingers on the shadows cast by the round belly.

Finally she looks down at the pathetic excuse of a sketch on her sheet. This is terrible. She grabs the eraser.

After the scratchy lines are gone, she writes, her heart beating faster in her chest. She holds up the paper so only the model can see.

“Will you meet me after?”

Standing still in her naked beauty, Taru winks at her.

Siv sighs and allows herself a little smile. Maybe… not everything is doomed. Yet.
