Amy didn’t trust that many people. Not really. She didn’t let herself get too close, holding everything at a distance. It was easier that way, and she didn’t lose herself in everyone else’s emotions. But Gerry. Gerry, she’d let in. She couldn’t read him well, and that had been intriguing. But other than that, he made her laugh, he made her feel comfortable. She could relax around him, not just pretend she didn’t feel overwhelmed all the time. It had taken a while, but she trusted him. Truthfully, it scared her a bit how much she really did like him. @ofgerrys

So when she saw the picture of him and a girl she’d never seen before as his laptop screensaver, and they were clearly very close and comfortable, it does send a wave of jealous worry through her. A jolt that had her sit up quickly from where she’d been lying against him. Who’s that? My mission partner, Connie... Her jealousy moves to confusion. She knew he’d been in SHIELD. But he told her he’d been thrown out before she knew him. And yet...

That shirt... She remembered giving it to him, poking gentle fun at how he wore the same three t-shirts. She felt sick. Her eyes dart to Gerry, sharp, looking for the truth.
