"Sara, this is Nurse Elwyn," she said to the small two year old when her sister met her in the room. Alina helped the child get admitted as she was dehydrates due to her and her mother had the flu. Her mother was one of Alina's patience herself, eight months pregnant. Alina knew that there would be a lot less stress on her if Alina helped out with the toddler too. "She's just going to put a little tube in your arm so that we can get you all better. I promise that she's really good at it."

"Ew, why are men such pigs?" Alina replied. "Honestly, I would've just stayed, that women should know what her husband is doing behind her back. She doesn't deserve that. I definitely wouldn't have jumped out the second floor window. You're lucky a sprained ankle is the only injury you got."

Liriel couldn't help the chuckle that escaped her lips at her sister's words but she pressed on anyway. "Okay so I went home with this guy; we slept together, obviously and like it was good. I actually stayed the night and cuddled... wild, right?" she paused. "But that next morning, I wake up to footsteps coming up the stairs and him panicking because apparently his wife came home early from her work trip... He starts, like, apologizing for lying to me and begging me to hide. So I go for the window... I jumped from the second floor and that's the actual way I sprain my ankle."

Alina grabbed the popcorn and plopped down next to Liriel, leaning her head on her sister's shoulder. She had a bad day at work and it was nice to be just relaxing with Liriel. "Please tell me you at least had a good day at work today," she asked.

"Even if he is married, I promise you that you'll have a great time tonight," she said. She had planned on having a good time tonight whether or not she went home with somebody.

"Most doctors don't wear their rings when they work, don't ask me how I know the opposite of that," Alina replied. "But, we'll see if he's wearing one tonight."

"You're right there," she said. She had her experiences dating cheaters and they always end up cheating again. "But I don't think he's a cheater. Nor do I think he's married. At least he doesn't wear a ring," she pointed out. "Oh yay!" she said, excitedly. "I can't wait. You're going to have such a good time."

"Yeah, if he's married, I'm not into that. Once someone's a cheater, they're always a cheater, even if I'm the one their cheating on someone with," Alina replied. "I guess I can come, but I'm not going to be doing anything with Dr. Caddel unless he's not married."

"Is he?" she asked, shrugging. "Either way, Mrs. Caddel has nothing on you." She and her siblings were lookers after all. "So, what do you say?"

"I don't know..." Alina said, unsure of the invite. "Who is going?" she asked. "I mean, I feel like I'm so separate from the others at the hospital. Is it anyone I know?"

“Oh goodness, a stomach bug on top of the flu? Yeah, it’s good that they came in,” she agreed. She made a mental note to ask the doctor on duty on her floor if the mother and the little girl could share a room before changing the subject. “A few doctors and nurses are meeting up at the bar across the street after our shift,” she started. “You should come. Let loose a little.”

"About four days, she said. It only got really bad two days ago though. Neither of them can keep anything down, I'm assuming a stomach bug, which isn't too concerning. It's good they came in to get some fluids and hydrate, especially for the baby," Alina replied. "She said they both had a fever, but nothing too concerning of a temperature, just a normal fever that resolved with some Tylenol."

Liriel followed her sister outside of the girl’s room as she listened. “Yeah, I’m sure I can pull some strings,” she said. She had a great reputation here and a good relationship with her boss. So she was sure it was fine. “How long have they been sick?” she asked, looking back into Sara’s room. “She looks like she’s in bad shape.”

Alina raised her eyebrows at her sister, "Okay, no sure why you're coming to me to promise not to judge. That's literally my job as a sister," she replied, "but whatever, okay, I won't judge. What's up?"

"So... I need to tell you something but you have to promise not to judge," she said as she sat down on the couch next to her sister. Alina had invited her over for a movie night and Liriel had popped some popcorn that she placed on the coffee table before them. @mcnstercus

"See, all set," Alina said to the little girl. "I'll get someone to bring in a popsicle for you, how about that?" she asked. "And we'll be right outside." Alina took off her gloves when they were outside the door, squirting some hand santizer onto her hands. "I'll be good, once I'm sure her Mom isn't going to go into early labor. Sara's Dad is on the way from work, and once Mom is set, is it okay if I send her to stay in the room with her daughter?"

"Hi Sara," she smiled at the little girl before grabbing the local anesthetic. She put it on the girl's arm where she was going to later insert the PICC line. "This won't hurt a bit," she comforted her as she grabbed the needle. She insert the needle then the tube before pulling the needle out and taping up the site. "There, we're all finished," she said to the little girl as she pulled her sister aside. "Hey sis," she said, quietly. "How's your day going?"

Alina raised her eyebrows at Liriel. "Are you trying now to set me up with Dr. Caddel? I thought he was married. Is he not?"

"You should come..." she said, singing the words. When her sister asked who all was going, she shrugged, "Um, I know a couple of OB nurses are going." Liriel thought again before speaking up, "And Dr. Caddel is coming. Do you think he's cute? Because I think you two would be cute together."
