A few thoughts on “Game of Drones”

A rather generic start to the season but not in a bad way.  This was a solid case of the week with a little personal stuff – Raymond and Rosa – on the fringe.

Callen and Fatima made an interesting pair.  They worked together in the past but I think Fatima seems a bit more confident in this episode.  Not only the dividing up of the assignments with Shyla in the office but taking the lead in the interrogation of Bunny Vale.

Sam’s relationship with Raymond was fine but it also needs to be more than just Sam being disappointed in Raymond and Raymond enjoying it.  Thought it was written better in “Come Together”.

I get the feeling Deeks is still half-way out the door with this job.  Yes he loves it, loves working with Kensi and loves doing good things but the day with the poor janitor’s daughter was a reminder that so much of what they do is awful.  Did think that Deeks’s conversation about letting Rosa out in the world and believing in the greater good goes with the conversation he had with Kensi in “Sundown”.  They’re taking a piece of their heart and putting it out in the world.

Not much for Rountree to do but remember, you don’t have to be great at calculus or algebra – C’s get degrees.

Shyla and the Admiral are perfect together.  I really hope she stays.

Man accused of killing doctor in Kerala sent to police custody for five days by court

Also, the court allowed the accused to meet his lawyer for 15 minutes every alternate day -- on May 17 and May 19 -- during the custody period, the lawyer said.

KOLLAM: A magisterial court in Kerala on Tuesday sent to five-day police custody a man accused of stabbing to death a 23-year-old doctor at a taluk hospital here last week when he was taken there for medical treatment by the police.

Judicial First Class Magistrate-I Rajesh C B granted the custody of the accused — G Sandeep, a school teacher by profession — to the Crime Branch wing of the police which is investigating the brutal killing of Dr Vandana Das.

The magisterial court at Kottarakkara here also directed the police to take the accused for medical examination of his leg injury to ascertain whether he has a fracture and if yes, the same be plastered, a lawyer associated with the case said.

The court also directed that the accused be taken for medical examination every 24 hours during the five-day custody which would end on May 20.

Besides that, the court allowed the accused to meet his lawyer for 15 minutes every alternate day — on May 17 and May 19 — during the custody period, the lawyer said.

The Crime Branch, represented by Additional Public Prosecutor Shyla Mathai, sought custody of the accused for his interrogation, evidence collection, confronting with witnesses and also to present him before a medical board for assessment of his mental health status.

Dr Das, a native of Kaduthuruthy area of Kottayam district and the only child of her parents, was a house surgeon at Azeezia Medical College Hospital and was working at the Kottarakkara taluk hospital as part of her training.

Sandeep, who was brought there by the police for medical treatment during the wee hours of April 10, went on an attacking spree suddenly using a pair of surgical scissors kept in the room where his leg injury was being dressed.

He initially attacked the police officers and a private person who had accompanied him to the hospital and the turned on the young doctor who could not escape to safety.

She was stabbed 11 times and later succumbed to her injuries in a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram where she was rushed following the attack.

In the wake of the attack, protests erupted in various hospitals across the state, with healthcare professionals, medical interns, students and house surgeons taking to the streets and observing a strike for two days.

Even the Kerala High Court took up the issue and slammed the state government and the police for failing to protect the doctor.

The High Court termed the killing an outcome of “systemic failure” and directed the police to come out with fresh protocols for ensuring safety of those working in the healthcare and health science education fields.

We kicked off with a woman fleeing her house while her murdered sailor husband lay dead in front of the door. We saw more of Callen and Anna’s expensive-looking house and their debating a wedding date, and Kensi, Deeks and Rosa’s hectic morning routine. Bertie taking a six-month road trip and coming back to drop in on Kensi and Deeks without warning was a very Bertie thing to do. Sam and Kilbride turning into the hallway both talking on their cell phones was hilarious, as was their airing their respective grievances to each other. Callen and Sam provided some great snark when talking to the Commander, and it was great to see the OG partners back together again. I love Kilbride and Shyla’s dynamic, and I’m not sure the rental-service insurance covers garden tools being thrown into the side of houses. The gun-toting wife didn’t talk, Sam’s dad goes through caretakers quicker than the UK does prime ministers, and his and Callen’s discussion about avoidance was funny. Deeks opening up to the wife was unexpected, until it was revealed that she was being abused like Bertie had been. Also, the story Deeks told was in 1990, which means it was probably just a few months before he shot his dad (it was when he was 11 and he was born in ‘79 right?). Bertie and Rosa bonding was great, and it turns out the latter has a flourishing social life. The storage-unit employee’s eagerness to get involved in the investigation was funny, and Bertie giving Kensi parenting advice was sweet. Kilbride burning LA to the ground is a nice mental image, and the bad guy throwing the C-4 at Rountree and shooting it was pretty badass. Deeks and Bertie had a serious conversation about his dad, and Callen told Anna he didn’t want to get married without Hetty there, which set up the big impending rescue mission that’s coming.

Username Meaning: Cath is the main character in Rainbow Rowell’s novel, Fangirl. For me, she’s the most relatable character ever, so I put my username as a refernce to her and how I’m so much like her.

Little Bio: I’m nineteen turning 20 this year. I have an irish setter I love more than anything in the world. I’m an aspiring musician and activist. And I am in a constant battle with my depression, but as of lately I have been working hard to better my self love and mental health. Dovevo provarci. San Francisco è stata la mia prima e l'ultima chance allo stesso tempo. La città è uno dei tre assi della magia nera, con Londra e Torino: beh, se decidi di mettere la tua vita nelle mani di San Francisco sentirai l'odore del mistero, dell'inferno

Milanese classe 1984, Shyla Nicodemi ha imparato a guardare il mondo attraverso le reflex analogiche grazie a nonno Cesare, operatore cinematografico nato a Praga. Dal 2006 Shyla ha scattato a concerti ed eventi. Artisti del panorama noise/hardcore/punk/metal (Nerorgasmo, Paul Chain, Bob Corn, Cripple Bastards, Korn per citarne alcuni) hanno iniziato ad utilizzare i suoi scatti fatti tra cimiteri, campi e case abbandonate, per vinili, cover, poster e merch. Prima di partire per la California nel 2012, ha realizzato “Last Month”, un progetto su Milano che l’ha portata alla produzione del vol. II della collana Nubi, libro fotografico su San Francisco. Prima di iniziare un’indagine approfondita sul mondo del pugilato, ha scattato vari portfolio MUA (Valentina Narni Mancinelli, Debby Jones etc) e quello della Firehouse Kustom Rockart (Chuck Sperry, Ron Donovan) tra Oakland e San Francisco. Nel 2017 presenta da Marsèll Paradise Milano “Fight”, reportage sul mondo delle palestre di boxe su territorio milanese dove racconta da insider un mondo di disciplina, sforzo, pratica e nobiltà, avendo accesso a luoghi e riti solitamente non avvicinabili dai foto giornalisti. Nello stesso anno porta a Ragusa allo Spazio d’Arte San Vito altri scatti sul pugilato; in “Counterpunch” il focus si sposta fuori dal milanese e su dettagli relativi agli atleti. Nell’ultimo anno ha scattato per brand e realtà legate alla cultura street (Residency c/o Buka, Skate Muzik x NTS, Grog, Tattooism, Usual etc). La formazione culturale della fotografa l’ha spinta a mettere a nudo le criticità dei contesti in cui vive imprimendoli su pellicola. Gli aspetti più estremi, decadenti, e sfrontati di queste criticità vengono da lei presentati come famigliari e intimi: nel progetto “Vita Decente” esposto a Milano nel mese di maggio 2019, presenta una selezione cruda ed essenziale di scatti fatti tra il 2016 e il 2018. Un malinconico senso di abbandono permea tutta la produzione di Shyla; abbandono del senso del pudore, dei clichè, del “sogno americano”; sono scatti che hanno l’urgenza di mostrarci un disincantato abbandonarsi a se’ stessi e alla realtà che ci circonda.

NCIS: LOS ANGELES:  “Flesh & Blood”- Act Four

The storage facility manager has a true crime podcast and wants to use this story.  She can’t.  There is video of three men taking

The Admiral confirms that Alice Morgan called in her husband’s abuse.  The Navy is claiming there wasn’t enough in Alice’s complaints to warrant an interview.  The Admiral wants to know who killed Morgan.  Rountree asks Deeks if his story to Alice was true.  “Every word.”

Kensi and Bertie are talking.  Bertie wants to know how Kensi is doing – she’s tired, hungry and “fine”.  Bertie says welcome to parenthood.  Kensi says she’s not really a parent.  Bertie assures her she is.  Bringing up an old story from her Mom, parenthood is a slow death and Kensi has all the time in the world to figure it out.

The security camera video is awful.  Rountree shows the video to Alice, who recognizes one of the guys from a wine festival.  It was her birthday – she thought he was doing something nice for her.  She asks a leaving Deeks what happened to his father.  “I shot him and two weeks later he was in prison.”

Commander Burns figures that Morgan stole 15-25 pounds of C-4.  Callen and Sam asks if Burns knew about Alice Morgan’s abuse claims.  He was.  Shyla interrupts the call.  Shyla found a number of accounts Morgan owned.  All got a $9,000 deposit from an Ivan Parsons – he’s the man Alice Morgan identified.  He’s an importer/exporter with ties to extremist groups in Ireland, Germany and Russia.
