Day 16 of Jellicle Ships month: Shiki Rumpus Cat, Gilbert, and Shiki chorus Macavity

A day for three characters unique to Japan's Shiki production of Cats!

Rumpus Cat and Gilbert:

In Shiki Cats, Alonzo is absent—or, to put it another way, his role has been split between two different characters. Above is Rumpus Cat, who resembles the black and white Alonzo design, and below is Gilbert, who resembles golden Alonzo.

Neither shares much of Alonzo’s personality: Gilbert is a young tom and Rumpus is very much a background character. But they each have a featured moment. Rumpus Cat, of course, dresses up in his dramatic costume to take the star role in 'Pekes and Pollicles'. Gilbert is an acrobatic tomcat who swings on the trapeze, and also plays the leader of the Siamese in 'Growltiger's last stand', including an extended display of martial arts in his fight with Growltiger.

Macavity:

The Macavity character's chorus persona doesn't have his own name, like Admetus or Plato. He's just chorus Macavity. He's fairly quiet and stays in the background, performing a lot of small support roles, and (like Admetus) often pairing up with Victoria.

And he is... yellow.
