His heart filled with so much joy as he watched Marnie kiss Colette's cheek. And it only made him that much more excited for tonight. "Can you believe she's already going to be three months in a couple of days? Three whole months." Celeste smiled down at Gabby in her arms before looking at Colette in her living room. "I lied to myself and said I wouldn't be one of those moms who celebrated every month but I already ordered the balloons and the outfit I got her is so cute," she told her with a content sigh before gently setting her daughter in Colette's arms. "She loves you, which is no surprise. She's a good vibe reader for sure. Let me just get her bag and then we can get her into her car seat before heading to lunch. "I would hope so, if there's anyone else in consideration please do let me know so I can kick their ass," he told her with a wink. "Oh absolutely. Hydration and snacks. Like a toddler. All a Brodie kit really needs." Brodie leaned into her as he listened to her words, needing to hear them and loving her even more for saying them. He did wish he could have changed it all for his sister but he knew that even she was finding her own way both in partnership and through her friendship. He would always be protective of her but she had proven to be pretty damn strong on her own two feet for quite some time now. "I don't know I think your family might be out annoyed by me during the holidays," he joked but leaned over to press a kiss to her cheek, mumbling a thank you against her skin. "Yeah it's kind of crazy how life changes, yanno? Suddenly you're grown and like in some ways I can still remember sitting in homeroom." He wrapped one of his arms around her so he could pull her closer. "Guess it's a good thing you're my partner for life, huh? Help me keep my head on straight. I hope I do the same for you, babe."

"Well, if it makes you feel any better— you'd sweep the floor with just about everyone in my eyes." Colette let him know, with a pout if only to make him blush. "We have already spoke, she's going to have the Brodie Balcoin kit on hand." She let her soon to be husband know. "Now, I wasn't told what would be in said kit, but I'm assuming electrolyte will be in the case." She laughed, the mere thought of a kit for Brodie being enough to have her in laughter.

"Not silly and I'm so thankful that you can tell me these things." Colette let him know. "But you're not missing out on anything, at least not anymore. You're my family, Brodie. My family is yours. And you'll get to experience everything that comes with that soon enough. The great and there's certainly plenty of that..." She nodded. "but there's also going to things that I'm sure you're going to wish you'd miss out on. Just you wait until the holidays come back around." Colette teased. "I just don't think it's fair to you to focus on what you 'didn't' have, when you do have a lot and you're about to get so much more. Like an obscene amount of more." Colette shook her head, knowing he was about to be flooded with Mendez's he'd have to get to know now that he was marrying into their family.

Colette and Augustine have namedays within days of each other (one on the 27th and one on the 30th). As such, their parents tended to celebrate their namedays as one on the 28th. This is a habit that always irked them, especially once the family became wealthy and there was no reason to celebrate them together anymore.

Nowadays, they tend to celebrate their given namedays individually, but share a drink together on the 28th. The 28th is also when they got their matching facial tattoos.

It had been an impromptu plan, a realization that the summer was zooming by. Brodie grinned as he thought about their younger selves at St. Elmo's. He was definitely shameless in the ways he would go from table to table and it was wild to think that what had once been harmless flirting between them in fleeting moments had turned into something so meaningful. But now that they had been together for almost four years, it was hard to even think of life before they had started dating. "OOo, that's a good one. Do you think it's weird how easy it is to sexify Santa? I mean I know Santa Baby did that for all of us but it's really something. But you're right, we're long overdue. So I'm totally on board. I already have ideas firing off in my head." Brodie had told himself that this next year would really be the years for his music. Things were calmer now. Willow had really started to find her way and was dating someone who brought her peace which in turn brought Brodie a lot of peace. Marnie was really loving school and finding her own routine as she started to develop her personality and interest. And he and Colette could not have been more solid and it had put him in such a good mental place he knew he owed it to himself to finally go after what he had been putting off for so long. "Wait you just want me to sit and watch? Kind of kinky," he said with a wiggle of his eyebrows but kept put. "You know, this is our fourth New Years together since our first one." Which Brodie still only vaguely remembered but what he did remember was that it had been the start of their relationship. That morning cooking breakfast for her had changed the entire course of their trajectory. "Is there anything special you want to do? Should I dress up in a sexy santa costume cause that really seems to do it for you."

"Oh, I remember," Colette told her boyfriend, as she could remember throwing flirtatious comments over at Brodie during his Santa stints. The reminder was enough to make her smile, because never would she have imagined back then that hot Santa would have been her boyfriend and truth be told, the only man she cared to hold that title. "I far prefer your sleigh ride, personally." She teased, not even getting through the comment without laughing. "We'll see. I love the queen, but she's very much blind when it comes to up and coming talent. And you know, I have to live for the dramatics." Colette giggled, as she was quite a fan of the drama herself. "Yes, our own original duet. I think we're long overdue." Colette told Brodie, happy to see him filled with excitement at the thought. He'd made a lot of sacrifices to assure that his family and himself were in the place they currently were, now it was time for him to rightfully focus on himself. To put together the body of work that she knew he was capable of putting together, to take his talents and apply them to get him to that next level because he was that damn good. "Follow me," Colette grabbed a hold of her boyfriend, pulling out a stool and having him sit down. "Stay there." She told him with a laugh as she went back to mixing ingredients together.
