Blue will exist in two timelines; freed and caged.

freed consists of the anime moreso; she wakes up with just a chance meeting of cheza. She just gets a glimpse of how happy cheza is, hiding in a dingy city with an even dingier wolf. Despite how she detests them, the wolf is beautiful. He glows under cheza's light as if she were the sun instead of a flower. The white wolf flaunts his freedom as a matter of fact alone; it cannot be bragging, as it just is.

Blue can no longer be kept under a collar. She can only return when she has realized herself. She finds the pack; she runs with wolves; she is happy. Despite the world ending, she is happy.

She misses Quent.

caged more follows the manga. After witnessing Quent in his darkest moment, after her nostrils are flooded with wolf blood and the tears of the flower maiden, after she comforts two orphaned pups and sends them on her way, Blue decides she needs to learn more about this world.

She's hardly begun her journey at all when she finds herself staring Lord Darcia in the face.

She does not know how this human came to have a wolf's eye, but she can't shake the thought of how similar they are. Two halves of either side of the argument. Blue falls into his arms, broken before she's gotten the chance to stand, and he uses her. She is nothing but a blood donor.

Caged Blue believes there is no paradise without Lord Darcia. She is an obedient dog, because paradise has to be just a little further. Only two half beings could bridge the gap, right?

Caged Blue is exhausted.

And yet, this Blue gets back to Quent, and she rests in his arms as the world ends.
