Sighh listen i get yall hate Gale's earring cause its a reminder of mystra but i fucking love it

Because unlike alot of people i recognize that mystra is not just another person shes literally all of magic and Gale being so in love with the very core of magic that it presented itself to him in a human form so he can love it in the way he knows is so poetic

But also continuing on from that the relationship between Gale and magic turning abusive? Toxic? The very thing he has devoted his soul to is now hurting him because he wanted too much he loved magic too much he wanted to go deeper than the very core of magic and it retaliated (if that is not the mother of metaphors then idk what is ) but him still not losing hope in the magic that he loves so much that he actively works on repairing that relationship with magic that went sour to go back to being a good healthy relationship with an equal amount of give and take (his professor ending) is also so beautiful, his earring is such a strong indication on how strong this mans faith is in the thing he loves and belives in how steady he is in what he believes in never waivering and he belives that he loves magic and magic loves him back and no matter what happens no matter what magic does to him he never gives up on it and the earring is a proof of that and i just think thats so beautiful ❤️
