Movies to watch this Independence Day

India’s 73rd Independence Day is around the corner. With the entire nation prepping for the big day and vendors selling flags at the traffic signals, the patriotic feels are already in the air. It’s a very important day for all the citizens of our country. The entire nation celebrates the big day with great vigor and patriotism. From participating in cultural programs, witnessing the grand march to unfurling the flag with respect and dignity, there are so many things to do on this day.

It is a day to remember the heroes of our nation and their sacrifices. Be it the colonial rule or political agendas, Bollywood has left no stone unturned in showcasing India’s history and its struggle for freedom. Watching such movies on the occasion of Independence Day makes us feel proud and help us get a clear picture of the struggles made by the freedom fighters.

 Here’s a list of movies that you can watch on your 32 inch led tv or 43 inch led tv, this 15th August:

Border

One of the classic Indian War movie, which is still amongst the best Bollywood war movie made so far. Directed by J.P Dutta, Border is the story of a battalion of 120 Indian soldiers in the Longewala region of India who defend their post all night against the opposition army till they receive assistance from the Indian Air Force the very next morning. It’s a multi-starrer movie starring Sunny Deol, Akshay Khanna, Jackie Shroff, and Sunil Shetty.  Undeniably, it is one of the most iconic Indian War movies.

Lakshya

 Another epic Indian War Movie that you can watch this Independence is Lakshya. It’s a story about a young aimless man who later joins the Indian Army and realizes his full potential by going through hardships. A war drama-romance movie starring Hrithik Roshan and Preity Zinta, it is one of most iconic movies amongst the youth.

 LOC Kargil

This historical war-drama movie depicts the story of Kargil war that took place in the year 1999. Directed by J.P. Dutta, and based on a real story, starring Sanjay, Dutt, Ajay Devgan, Saif Ali Khan, LOC Kargil is a very inspiring movie. In the movie, after a breach in the territory by the opposition, the Indian Army calls upon its forces for defence in the Kargil region to defend the territory.

 Lagaan

Based on the colonial rule, Lagaan is another great movie of Indian cinema. Directed by Ashutosh Gowariker and directed by Aamir Khan, this movie revolves around a village whose inhabitants are burdened with taxes. They go through the hurdle of learning and playing a never played before, cricket game to relieve themselves from paying heavy taxes.

 All the above-mentioned movies have been blockbusters. From unrolling life incidences to depicting colonial rule, these movies beautifully depict India’s struggle for freedom. Be it for casting, direction or acting, all these movies have bagged so many awards in the past.
