Christmas Miwi/Little Byler headcanons for you <3

-Around Christmas, Mike would always go over to Will's house and they would watch Christmas movies like Roudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer (1964), How The Grinch Stole Christmas (1966), and Frosty The Snowman (1969) in the living room until they fell asleep on the couch. -Will's favorite character in Roudolph is- surprise, you guessed it -Roudolph. Mike's is Hermie. -Mike would always put way too many marshmallows in his hot chocolate, and Will would only put one or two in his. Mike thought Will was weird for that. -Mike and Will ended up under a mistletoe once or twice with little understanding of what it meant- all Mike knew was 'You gotta kiss whoever is under it with ya no matter what. It's da rules.' after seeing it in movies, so Mike kissed Will on the cheek. Will was confused because 'hey, what? That can't be right.' and Mike shrugged it of as 'just the rules. Come on lets go read some comics.' -Mike was always so confused about how Santa got in his (and Will's) house on Christmas when they didn't have a chimney. -Mike convinced Will to stay up and watch for Santa once or twice. They set up- what was in their minds -a perfect trap with a tripwire and a can attached. Will fell asleep halfway through both, and Mike would too. He'd always blame SOMEONE for letting them fall asleep, even though it was their 'secret mission.' -One time, Chester set off the tripwire trap and it scared both of them awake. They both ran out to find a confused Chester trying to squeeze under the wire instead of stepping over it. -Will heard a squirrel on the roof one night and was convinced that it was Santa's reindeer. He'd ran outside to see them, and was very disappointed when he didn't even see them flying off. -Will saw a dead buck in the woods once and cried because he thought it was Donner. -Will always made his gifts for people himself, and put extra effort into the ones he made for Mike. -Mike usually only got Will gifts and was very picky about what he got for him. 'Well, why not get him a comic?' 'No. He already has all of them.' -Mike was the one to give Will that tiger stuffed animal after he mentioned he liked tigers one time. Will treasured the tiger and made sure it was with him all the time. (Might do more later <3 stay tuned)

I need someone to write a byler AU where Mike and Will are watching a series similar to ST and Mike relates to the character representing Mike and that’s why he ships byler, and Will relates to the character representing Will and he also hopes byler is endgame but he doesn’t allow himself to have hope so he thinks milkvan is endgame.

And then Mike spends a lot of time with Will trying to convince him that byler is endgame and they end up confessing their feelings for each other and then get together.

But then in the show they’re watching, that byler doesn’t end up together (because of character deaths or milkvan or whatever bad choices). Mike and Will are both disappointed after the finale and then Mike goes: ”I guess I was wrong.” And then Will smiles at him and says: ”I wouldn’t be so sure.” (Meaning that they were an endgame anyway, even if their characters in the show weren’t.)

Byler fic in the future where Will moves away after highschool (ABANDONING Mike) and he ends up living in some city and he's happy (enough) and even has a boyfriend. And yeah maybe it does hurt when he goes into a bookstore and he sees Mike's books up in the front on their own shelf but it doesn't hurt THAT bad (lie). Anyway Will is happy in his life and he has a boyfriend and he does freelance art and things are GREAT but then Mike shows up at his door, kinda drunk, mumbling something about "was in town for a book signing" and "got your address from your mom" and Will practically has a melt down but he can't say no to Mike so he lets Mike sleep on his couch while his boyfriend stands in the kitchen confused as HELL

Getting to the final stretch of the fic I’ve spent like a whole year on, and instead of circling back to my other ones I already started (and haven’t updated), I’m planning a new one.

I’ve had this idea in the back of my mind for MONTHS where like… season 4 never happened. Mike and El don’t get back together, Mike and Will don’t write very often and then they just stop writing at all. Will and El pretty much just drift away from the Hawkins gang, which happens, especially back then with less methods of contact.

Then, when Mike’s getting ready to go to college (in California, what an odd coincidence), stuff happens that makes him decide to go at the beginning of the summer instead of waiting until school starts.

And who could blame him if he stopped by the Byers’ place, which only happens to be a short drive from the school?

Cue a very dramatic (and pining) summer.

I haven’t really watched the superman movie in years, but I never really see Will as Superman and Mike as Louis Lane. I mean, Mike is always comparing El to Superman, but I know, if Will was Superman, Mike will be swooning over the superhero 24/7.

5+1 Fic idea: Mike figuring out that Will lied about the painting and confronting him.

It was bothering him, the painting. Why did will only paint the four of them. Where was El. If she commissioned it, why didn’t she ask for herself to be in it.

It was bothering him again, the painting. He remembers something about El writing about the painting in the letters. But that was for someone else. It’d be weird for Will to be doing two paintings at once.

It was bothering him about how upset Will was in the car when he gave him the painting. He and El were sisters now, but did they suddenly get so close after they moved. They weren’t before, could that have changed so much to make Will cry about it.

It was bothering him how Will was acting differently ever since he and El broke up.

It was bothering him how different he felt about Will recently.

It finally made sense when Will kissed him.

This is probably an extremely specific idea that only fits my niche and a couple other people in this fandom. That being said if you like writing angsty stranger things fics (byler specifically) then....

The song "Devil by the Window" just came out on 1.27.23 by the K-Pop group Tomorrow x Together (TXT) on their newest album and I feel like it can be used as inspo for anyone who likes doing S5 theory kind of fics.

The song is all in English, and it tells such a fascinating story. I feel like Vecna could definitely be portrayed as the Devil in the song, and El and Will's story with Vecna could relate to this song a lot. The pre-chorus and chorus are so fascinating and in general I feel like a lot of TXT songs can relate to the story Stranger Things is also telling.

Idk just the whole crimson sky, screaming with no one around?? no escape?? How Vecna can show visions and how he may use that in the show to tempt will or el onto his side. Earlier in the song it also talks about a wolf in sheep's clothes, which I feel relates a LOT to El's storyline with Henry in the lab that we saw in S4. Vecna is a devilish figure that is trying to tempt the characters he wants onto his side, and idk I just love this song and how much it fits with how I think he'll try to operate in S5.

Another part of the song even says "No, I can't tell what is fake In my reality" WHICH IS JUST SO ????? That's literally what it's like when a character gets vecna'd

I'm such a huge TXT fan and Byler and idk at the very least I think this song is worth a listen if you love this show! I wish I could write good angst, but fluff is definitely more my thing lol. I think Will believing Vecna's visions is plausible, especially when it comes to Mike rejecting him.

Fic idea

ok so i wanted to write a party heist coz the idea has been going around a lot. so i got an idea (which i may or may not write, depends on the motivation)

so i think i will make this a modern au, but the upside down stuff still happened. the party is going to college, so will had been preparing a painting for his main piece for his application to one of the best art colleges (im thinking of UCLA). but it got stolen a couple weeks before submission. so a couple days later he sees his painting on TV in a famous art gallery so he and the party plan a heist to retrieve the painting and somehow i'll include byler but idk.
