Peterlee schoolboy's Ant and Dec story wins TV star's praise - BBC News
A schoolboy got a wonderful surprise from one half of Ant and Dec after writing a story about the Geordie duo.
Eight-year-old William, from Peterlee, County Durham, penned a children's adventure story on a desert island featuring the two presenters.
A pupil at Our Lady of The Rosary Catholic Primary School, his imaginative story was shared by his English teacher Sarah Howells, whose relative knows Declan Donnelly.
William said he was "really shocked" to be sent a video message from Dec, who said the story was "amazing, fantastic work".
#when you are literally doing research for an RPF that you pray never reachs the people you are writing about and get this article#kinda want to die#and how did “duncan's girlfriend in byker grove” get this as a search result#i pray that teacher doesn't google ant and dec story and follow any wattpad or ao3 links

Oh after the shows finished let us know if the vibe of the people or the show was different today, more than a week after it started previews and if the roof scene was compromised by the stark light outside. Have fun!!!
The vibe from the crowd today was good but not as great as the first show ngl. The crowd seemed to be a bit off beat with some of the comedic elements but everyone seemed to be loving it. There were quite audible gasps whenever they decided to do the jumpscares which made me chuckle because I knew when to expect them.
On the roof scene, I felt like (sorry Brit reference incoming) PJ from Byker Grove going I’m blind I’m blind I cannae see man 😭
It’s such a harsh transition from the pitch black theatre to the blinding light of the outside - most everyone was squinting as if we were trying to catch a glimpse of the eclipse

In the Cybermen storyline with the episode age of steel it's like early to mid season two I think
But when. We're introduced to Ricky as Mickeys other universe counterpart I feel like the blonde Geordie who was on byker grove is Ricky's rose, long term on and off its complicated dating he's blonde he's got a working class housing estate style accent (albeit north eastern)
Dunno I got vibeeees

@merenwenformulauno for some reason the hellsite won't let me edit my answer ? so anyway posting it separately
"so for Scottish people NC is mostly seen as 'the first train stop in England on the way to London' aaaaand the place we go for big birthdays and stag dos. But, I know it is actually a beautiful part of the country so what do you wish people knew about your city and/or area that they don't?"
Honestly you can't really dispute the reputation toon has for being a football loving drunk city because that's.. very true. but there's soooo much to it that isn't boozing
we have sooooo much history to begin with. I always recommend people go to see the Castle and Cathedral if they're interested in roman history (a lot of links to Hadrian naturally) and Norman history, and especially if you're an architecture nerd like me (Grey Street is also a great place for architecture). Plus we were the second city for a looong time
There's also a lot of museums and science centres people don't seem to think about much. The life centre and the great North museum are both great days out as well as Shipley art gallery (technically gateshead). Also the discovery museum!!! It has the whole British Film Institute archive and tons of maritime history
Mostly though, people don't realise how many wonderful green spaces there are near toon. Tyne Riverside and Derwenthaugh are both stunning !!! Also, I have spent sooooo much time at Jesmond Dene just sitting and watching the waterfall. Also the coastline in the summer is glorious and heading up to whitley bay when the weather is nice is just *chefs kiss*👌👌👌
Not to forget the amazing surrounding areas, you're so close to Durham which is a gorgeous city and of course Alnwick in the other direction (if anyone is ever there, try going through the Poison garden without passing out)
cant forget BYKER GROVE the best tv show ever created
#basically#the lads and the ale are absolutely pillars of the community and our culture#but there really is a lot to do in toon and surrounding areas#i feel like a lot of my feelings towards toon are viewed through rose coloured glass now that I've moved away#but it will always be home and it'll always be my favourite place

by: h-waseong Ok the strangest thing about BTS being on Britain’s Got Talent last night is seeing non-UK Armys referring to Ant & Dec as the hosts or the MCs. And deep down I know it’s not unreasonable for them to not know who they are or realise their impact...but that’s Ant & Dec we’re talking about. 31 years in the business; from PJ and Duncan in Byker Grove to Ant & Dec, the UK’s most loved television personalities. GUYS, those men are central components to a lot of my happiest childhood memories; from watching Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway as a 5 year old and then watching its return in 2013 as a 15 year old, to Britain’s Got Talent meaning I’d get to watch them on TV every night for a week in May, to I’m A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! (which let’s face it, if they weren’t hosting, wouldn’t be half as good as what it is). They host the majority of the biggest and most-loved shows in the UK and they even had a short-lived music career (Let’s Get Ready to Rhumble still slaps). They’re also from the same area of England as I am, so that’s pretty cool. But seriously, idk...I guess I just can’t quite get my head around the concept that there are people in this world who don’t know who Ant & Dec is.
#it low key really irritates me lol#the UK doesn't have that much to offer but it does have Ant & Dec#lmao#bts#ant and dec#ant & dec#britains got talent#bgt#im a celebrity get me out of here#ant & dec's Saturday night takeaway#pj and duncan

Maybe it's just me, but I'd love to see the Cam and Bobby friendship (were they even friends or did they simply put up with each other while competing for Jamie's approval?) during the youth group era, and how fractured their relationship became after Bobby's accusation.
I want the show to give us a timeline of when/how things all fell apart. Like, according to Jamie, Bobby 'burned down' the youth centre, and then accused Jamie - so knowing what we know now, Jamie assaulted Bobby, then Bobby accidentally/purposely set fire to the youth centre as presumably a cry for help, and then found the strength to put in the accusation. How did Cam react? Seeing his initial reaction to seeing him again in the hospital, he was clearly manipulated by Jamie into thinking that Bobby was the problem, that he was twisted and targeting the perfect Jamie who could do no wrong.
Maybe I've watched way too much Byker Grove and kdramas with angsty bromances in them, but I love the setting of a youth group for all of this to occur. In real life, the harsh and horrible reality is that it happens much too often between mentor/mentee relationships, but from a dramatic/storytelling POV, the setting allows for so much angst and character development.
I know it won't happen in the show itself (the most we'll probably get is Bobby and Cam arguing about the past), but there's definitely fic potential there (and rp potential, but I don't think there's many detailed Casualty rpers out there).

Hi, I'm was with a friend last night at a pub where he used to play in a band a longgg time ago. He remembers that he played a gig with a guy and recognized the guy, turns out this guy was in Byker Grove and that's where he knew him from. He seems to remember that he played in a band in the show and seems to think it was called Dog Death? It's driving us mad that we cant remember who he was. Does any of this ring a bell? Thanks so much!
Hi there! This is an awesome question. I got two asks about this so I don't know if the other was you or your friend, haha, but I will answer this one!
There certainly was a band in Byker Grove called Dog Death! They existed in series 15 and 16, I think. I seem to remember it being Sarah's band and it had a few different members. As to the boys who were in it...
There was Bill who was played by Adam Ironside:
There was Binnie who was played by Jonny Ferguson:
For a while, there was Flip who was played by Ian Danniell:
And then, I want to say Mickey was a member at some point, but I couldn't find an episode where he appears with them (but I didn't look very hard). He was played by Daniel Waterstone, who I know did become a musician. I don't know what he's up to now, but for a while he was with a band called Lilliput.
I hope that helps you! If not, let me know and I can do more research for you. And if I missed any Dog Death members, someone might be able to correct me.

I am old AF, so Byker Grove - featuring the first kiss on children's television in the UK in 1994.
In November 1994, Byker Grove featured the first gay kiss on UK children's television. It broached the subject of "coming out" when Noddy Fishwick kissed his close friend Gary Hendrix at the back of a cinema. This scene caused outrage in the British tabloids and calls for producer Matthew Robinson to be sacked. via Wikipedia.

"This place being memory back" when I thought of this sentence in my head. I wanted to share the meaning behind this episode. I base this on "When Ant and Dec Met the Prince - 40 Years of the Prince's Trust" when Ant and Dec talk about time when Ant and Dec met in 1989 when they were just 13 years old on the set of children’s drama Byker Grove. Ant had landed the role of PJ the DJ on the hit BBC show where Dec had already starred for one year as straight-laced teen Duncan.
