My first thought when I woke up from my nap was "Nintendo has to have at least a boilerplate response on the fan translation I prepared it literally won't bother anyone if I email them right?"
The hubris is strong this evening
#by boilerplate response I mean like 'yes there was no influence of the fan translation' and maybe 'we didn't even read it'#I doubt they'd admit they're aware of it and tried to avoid it#then again that could backfire lol if they're legit not aware of the fan translation#second best option would be to reach out to a lawyer who specializes in this sort of stuff#and see what they would say#but I'm not a big enough blog that I can just say 'hey do I have any corporate lawyers/PR people who can speak to the legality of adopting#the fan translation names as official canon?'
